PLD Week Day 4- Shield
Looking back on it after the fact, she realised Edmont had probably never anticipated his gift being dragged across the rift between worlds and to the end of the universe. Yet still, the shield had served her well to the very end.

Ibakha's two loves came about in very different ways. Her first love, Minfilia, definitely had a lot more to do with how much I liked the character while her second love, Y'shtola was one she picked out and I'm just along for the ride now.
Ibakha first fell in love with Minfilia and in a lot of ways it felt very natural to both of them. Between her (heavy) accent and her inability to read Eorzean, Ibakha had very few ways to communicate with others and Minfilia's echo meant that she didn't have to struggle to make herself understood. They had a close friendship that developed into a romantic relationship after the events of the Ultima weapon. Ibakha was shattered when she lost Minfilia to the events of the bloody banquet and spent two whole expansions very steadfastly not giving her heart away to anyone else. It wasn't until after Y'shtola recovered from her wounds from fighting Zenos that Ibakha realised that maybe she shouldn't keep her heart closed off and that there were others out there who would love her too. Her relationship with Y'shtola was cautious at first, but the events of Shadowbringers rapidly accelerated their relationship and it was for Y'shtola that Ibakha refused to let the light overtake her because she didn't want Y'shtola to go through the same loss that she did with Minfilia.
for people who ship their oc with an npc: did you decide to ship them with your OC because they were a favorite character of yours OR because you felt that npc genuinely went well with your OC? I'm really curious!

For Ibakha it’s blues and purples, crystal, a shield, a hawk, and a desperate need to protect everyone around her no matter the cost to herself
For Khutulun it’s red (forge fires, rage, blood), a bankhar, a hammer, a broken shield reforged into a weapon, and the more she tries to flee from the destiny tied to her name, the more she ends up fulfilling it
oh? what's this? a little wol question for the night?
what reoccurring symbolism do you have for your wol/oc?
a color? a flower? an animal? perhaps a certain phrase? what motifs follow them through their story?
#ffxiv#oc: ibakha malqir#oc: khutulun dotharl#they’re both reluctant heroes but it’s very fun seeing how differently they deal with that

PLD Week Day 6- Loss
Noraxia. Moenbryda. Minfilia. Haurchefant. Ysayle. Papalymo. Conrad. Tesleen.
She had plenty of ghosts to haunt her. Named, nameless. People who should have still been here had she just been stronger, been faster, been better. And yet, this long dead city full of long dead ghosts deep beneath the waves called to her. Like they, too, had been counting on her and she failed them.

PLD Week Day 1- Oath
The Eorzeans told her, back when she first received the softly glowing blue stone that never left her side that she would need to swear an oath- to a god, preferably. And through that oath would she have finally have the ability to defend those she cared about. No more dead Scions, or Noraxias- no more dead friends who she buried because she failed to protect them.
And to a broken-hearted xaela so far from home, was there really any different choice to make?

PLD Week Day 5- Devotion
Devotion was something Ibakha had in spades. Devotion to her friends, devotion to her cause, devotion to the worlds depending on her to protect them. No matter the enemy, or the danger she faced, she would, until the very end, be ever ready to come to their defense.

PLD Week Day 2- Faith
Faith was…a fickle thing she had decided after the end of everything. When her wounds had closed enough that she could travel, she went home. Or, more accurately, as close as she dared to right now. Perched up on the statue of the Dusk Mother, clad in the arms and armor of a different, now dead, goddess, she wondered just when her faith in her people’s gods had become no longer enough to move her forward.
