Summary: Clarice turns the tables on Steve and takes charge, and a knife to the throat just seems to spur them both on.

Steve was used to being in control. That’s what felt so freeing yet so frustrating about Clarice Campbell. She was unpredictable and underhanded, always keeping him on his toes. It’s what made a good partner, but also a potentially dangerous one.

She wordlessly made her way over to him now, a glint in her eye that Steve always found thrilling. She placed herself in his lap, straddling him and running a hand through her hair, bringing it all over to one side. He pulled her in, hands roaming her back. She kissed his neck as he slid a hand under her shirt, effectively distracting him as she reached for the knife she had stashed under the couch cushion. In one swift movement, she had it poised at his throat.

Most would have been terrified, but to Steve, it was a thrilling twist in their game. He chuckled softly, seemingly unfazed as he met her gaze with an amused grin. "What’s this for? I don’t think it’s my birthday," he deadpanned.

She leaned in closer, her lips almost brushing his ear. "I told you, Steve, I'm not like the others. I just thought I should finally prove that to you. I want in. On all of it."

A shudder of excitement ran through him. Steve couldn't help but admire her audacity. While he’d had a scrape or two with girls desperately trying to fight for their life, he could tell that wasn’t what Clarice was playing at. She sounded fully and resolutely sincere with her offer.

He slowly raised his hands in surrender, the knife's edge pressing gently against his skin. "You've got my attention, but if you don’t stop now—"

Clarice hummed. "What will happen if I don’t stop now," she challenged, adding just a little more pressure to the spot on his neck where the knife made contact. The smallest bit of blood appeared just below the blade.

In answer to her question, Steve let his hands quickly fall to her hips, tugging her down against him rather roughly, enough that she was able to feel the growing erection through his pants.

Clarice smirked and removed the knife, sending it clattering to the floor as she threw it aside altogether. "Consider that a taste of what's possible," she told him.
