So I originally wanted Borea to get kidnapped/held prisoner by Kronos's side (she was doing a dumb girl thing) and the only person who knew was the irritated eldest son of Dionysus who thinks k fine time to repay that stupid debt I owe

But then he, too, gets captured by Kronos's side and then they're both just like "hi"

But the dionysus kid is just acting so dumb Kronos is like "kill him, he's useless" and Borea's like "NO! HE'S MY EMOTIONAL SUPPORT - HUMAN THING!" And Dionysus's son is just (suddenly drinking wine with one hand) like "rood"

Dionysus Children:

so, im not really basing this off of specifically the books, movie, musical, or tv show. its kinda a mix of all of them and vibes mostly. (personally i really like jason mantzoukas as him tho)

so, it doesn’t matter which dionysus you picture in your head, the child will almost always look like the other parent. but they always have dark curly hair (all different curl types included) and his purple eyes. as well as his resting default/resting faces. which is usually a small amused smirk or like they’re wishing death upon you and your future children.

the amount of passive aggressive sass that can ooze out of these kids is insane. it’s usually the type of sarcasm that you don’t realize was sarcasm until the conversation has already changed.

or it’s very blatant that they want you to know they’re being sarcastic.

they’re the type of people who dress for comfort but when it’s time to dress up, they dress up. they pull out an outfit they’ve been planning for months in advance. on par with the aphrodite cabin.

they’re the type of people (even if they don’t like to party) the party heats up as soon as they show up.

Let’s get into some powers:

they can turn people insane. ya know, mess with their mind and forcibly make different mental illnesses appear and develop. it’s easier if you already have the gene for certain illnesses and disorders so they don’t have to create it from nothing. this power takes a lot of energy if they want it to last more than a few seconds.

they can also ease (but not get rid of) certain illnesses and disorders. this takes even more energy. this is important because, in the past, his children have used these powers for selfish reasons so if they do something stupid, they need to live with the consequences. (dionysus will usually fix whatever his children have done but he lets them suffer in their mistakes first.)

you know how in some horror games there’s a sanity meter and when your sanity goes down your vision starts blurring, the room shakes, your hearing is staticy, you start hallucinating. they can do this. they need initial eye contact but after that, as long as they have eyes on you, they can keep it up.

they are so good at acting. some of it is just acting clueless so others believe them when they say they don’t know what’s happening or they didn’t know a prank was being planned. some of it is that they are able to just, put themselves into another mindset and lie flawlessly.

they have the ability to grow and manipulate plants. mostly plants that can be used in wine so grapes, strawberries, etc. this includes vines and ivy.

Gold is often connected to divinity in rl religions. In Buddhism, it indeed symbolizes enlightenment and such, and it is often kept pure in order to not ruin its brilliance. In Tibetan Buddhism, statues are gilded with it and the 5 tonne Golden Buddha statue in Thailand is composed of 18 karat gold, almost fully pure.

Within this world, I like to think that gold has caught the eye of the Anemons in a religious sense upon the (,,re/")discovery of the Void Sea. The golden waves of it shaped the perception of their world, from explaining the sun as coated in a layer of Void, to giving an idea of what "cleanliness of soul" should look like. Wheel Flowers are also attributed to the Void as sprouts of it, because of their ethereal gold coloration.

The feeling of the divine has however faded when the motivations behind handling of the Void went terribly south, replaced by the extremist corruption and greed of High castes.

In other words, I wanted an excuse to draw Euros as a šarkan/змей.

Funny story - the first camper Borea met was a son of Ares - I headcanon, his most favourite son (half mortal/demigod, that is), and it's funny because he is NOTHING like his father... except when he is in battle. And he was gifted a sword that crackles with energy/electricity fuelled by the anger/range/drive for fight within the holder of the hilt... and always returns to its wielder (could either be a modification the child of Ares had made or a thing Ares himself had chosen to further enchant the sword with).

Unfortunately, this favourite son of Ares had a very sad, gory end, a think that sends Borea spiraling a bit, right before she met Sally Jackson.

Listen, I KNOW that the Four Winds are men but I thought about Apollo being like "I miss my girls :((" while talking about the muses and Aeolus being "well, I DON’T miss mine haha, these gals drive me crazy"

Hermes: wait, how did you find them? Or even know who the demigods were? (Provided she had no satyr to help sniff them out)

Borea: oh, I asked

Athena: ...you asked... children if they were half-bloods?

Borea: (rolling her eyes bec duh) no I asked the monsters that were hunting them (and yeah, Borea was one of the monsters hunting them - but she had good reason to hunt them, because she didn't want another case of Luke on her hands.)

Borea's is her fear of love (or losing it)

i can’t remember if any were mentioned in the books but some ideas for fatal flaws in the aphrodite cabin should be dysmorphia or denial of relationships.

on one hand, as aphrodite is the goddess of beauty, her children’s flaw could be to never find themselves beautiful enough. even if they knew they were attractive, the could never truly believe it.

on the other, she is the goddess of love. this could be romantic and denying that anyone would want to date them. or platonic/familial. denying that anyone would chose to be their friend or to view them as family.
