I liked this post format so I figured I could do a couple more, let everyone get to know my characters a little bit, especially since The Moonwood is a bit of a slow start. 🐺

Pietro (he/him) Zoroark/Cinccino; their son with Normal/Dark typing Moves: Swift, Charm, Encore, Fury Swipes

Lucius (he/him) Zoroark/Zangoose; Spades' son with Dark/Normal typing Moves: Hone Claws, Swords Dance, Power Trip, Crush Claw

Spades used to be a dungeon explorer. Shortly after the height of her career, she was hired by Arturo to protect him as he conducted research in mystery dungeons. They fell in love and, once Spades decided she was mostly done with exploring, settled down to have a family. Both of them still travel/research respectively, now that Pietro is grown.

Pietro is a washed-up former actor who lives in the city. Generally exhausted. Has decided that it's just easier to live with his Malamar situationship.

Lucius is the bitter younger brother. Spades left him with his father and things just never got better for him. He takes on rescue missions in dungeons, but he does it for the status and thrill rather than any desire to help others.

Arturo is a member of the Martinelli group, who is in direct opposition of the Winters, which is the group Clarence is apart of. These two enter a very rocky and unsteady relationship, which drives Clarence away for a while. After Arturo begins getting therapy for himself, the two reconnect later in life and begin dating again in a much more healthier manner.

Special interests:

Arturo has limited interests (his research and cooking, that's it) in the sense that he really struggles to learn anything unrelated to them. It's what his mind defaults to in conversation; combined with his difficulty reading social cues and not implicitly knowing social etiquette, he can come off as weird or overbearing. Really, he just wants to be friendly and sharing about his interests is his way of expressing that he likes someone.

While information relating to his research is arguably his favorite thing to talk about, he has come to understand that a lot of the language he uses about it is not known to the average Pokemon, so he tends to choose cooking as a conversation topic. He loves cooking-- it makes other Pokemon happy (he cooks for Spades), and it's an act of service/show of affection that they more readily understand. He loves strong flavors and interesting textures.

He gets very excited and happy when others show interest in what he's talking about. That translates to talking fast, swaying, and/or pacing. He's probably the most talkative of his group of researchers.

He fixates heavily on his work, to the point that he sometimes forgets to take care of himself because of how absorbed he is in it. At home, Spades pops in to check on him; both of them experience that sort of intense fixation and so try to help each other out.

Social effects

Arturo is friendly, talkative, and generally confident when socializing, but he does struggle with social cues and etiquette. He can't tell when someone is disinterested or uncomfortable unless it's very clear or they outright say so.

At other times, he gets confused or seems "oblivious" when he doesn't have clear instructions on what to do or doesn't know what's expected of him. Sometimes he just stands idle because he hasn't picked up on some body language cueing him to say or do something, and he's been called stupid by some rude Pokemon over it before. He likes it when others are direct/clear with him like Spades is. Arturo himself speaks very frankly; he rarely lies for social gain (i.e. saving face, hurting others, getting acceptance).

He's easily manipulated or fooled because he can't tell when someone is being dishonest, in addition to his trusting personality. If he knows beforehand that someone is cruel (by hearing reputations, stories, etc.), he won't be surprised if they mistreat him, but being betrayed by someone he trusts wrecks him. He's pretty emotionally sensitive, and being taken advantage of can upset him to the point of meltdowns or panic attacks.

He's willing to change his behavior if he's made aware that it's hurt someone's feelings or bothered them, but he doesn't easily understand others' perspectives. His mindsets tend to be very "black and white" by default-- you're either good or bad. He's not incapable of understanding nuance, but it isn't easy for him to grasp.

Routine and repetition

He doesn't need strict routine, but he has specific ways of doing some things. If he can't follow those set rules/procedures, he gets very upset. Larger breaks from them can throw him off for days and ruin his executive functioning.

He enjoys "meaningless" repetition like organizing his space or categorizing parts of his writing. It's soothing.

Sensory

Overall, Arturo is hyposensitive. He's sensory seeking, mostly with texture, taste, and pressure. Forcing himself to be still is very uncomfortable.

Stimming: head swaying, pacing, humming, rolling things in his paws, repeating song lyrics (Spades knows a lot of songs from her explorer background). He also fulfills sensory needs by pressing his face up to things, being squeezed or hugging others, cuddling, running his paws over good textures, and through food.

Hyposensitivity: speaks loudly, has messy handwriting, has difficulty telling when he's hungry and full. He also has poor balance and, when he was still traversing dungeons regularly, knew it wasn't safe for him to be alone in that terrain. He can't fight well because of his poor coordination, so he relied/relies on evasion and items.

And being a Cinccino... I think he'd take dust baths and really look forward to them. His fur is so dense that he really shouldn't be in water (applies to actual chinchillas), so he bathes by rolling in dust/sand. But since this is Pokemon, let's just say he doesn't need it to be as specific as chinchilla dust, just decent material.

So that's Mr. Arturo's autism. Spades has ADHD so I'll make something similar for her later

This is Arturo, a brash and egotistical Skykid whose pride and anger often puts him in unfortunate situations! He’s among the older of my Skykids, and he hates Mykell because of their refusal to how to the system they exist within. He views them as a poison that has the potential to spread throughout all other Skykids and should be stopped or bottled up.

Many other kids don’t like him because he can also be a bit of a bully at times, usually zeroing in on kids he thinks are weird and in some way disrespect the system, but being friendly to kids who he views as respectable. He idolizes the old kingdom and Resh, and views his inevitable death as a glorious sacrifice rather than something to be feared or hated.
