Thinking about the Byzantine times😳😳😳
Samsun and Trabzon being the two capitals of the region makes them natural rivals, while Sinop and Amasya just watch knowing that they're the lawful capitals fknfjdnrkrnr
Everyone hates Trabzon. Everybody. Everybody hates him.

Some historical fashion studies,,,
Okay real talk tho, how can I draw anything remotely ancient Pontic without getting frustrated at how the Ancient Greek fashion would be a damn 100% useless in the Black Sean cold and rain like???? I demand answers

hmm, interesting question! Well, I’ve only visited so many places; Giresun, Ordu, Trabzon, Samsun, Ankara, Antalya and Rize so no Artvin or İstanbul for me haha... To be fair I was in İstanbul on multiple occasions but I never went to the streets or smth basically I was in an airport once and when I was super little I went there or smth dunno BUT!! I can still answer I think dıojdıojf so let’s make a list!
1- Ankara
Ankara gets a solid 9 out of 10 from me definitely. It’s super chill about everything and people rarely judge you lol it’s really nice! I don’t really know tho, haven’t been there for long so decide for yourself how good my judgement is
2- Ordu
I’m not even sorry, people of Ordu have such nice attitudes about everything, they’re sooo friendly compared to the gloomy Giresunians! You can practically do anything you’d like without people staring at you especially in Ordu city. Ordu gets an 8 out of 10.
Tumblr media
3- Giresun
LOL even though I bash Giresun a lot here it’s really not that bad, in Giresun city nobody gives a flying fuck about what you do more so if you’re not from Giresun city. No matter how much Giresun gets downplayed from Giresunians it’s really a civil city man so it gets 7,5 from me.
Tumblr media
4- Samsun
I really, really wanted to put Samsun higher on this list goddammit! Samsun has failed me in this aspect...ah...Even though I was in Atakum (aka Samsun city like wow that confused me) I was shocked by the mindset of the people?? I wore a skirt over there and it felt really uncomfortable... either my anxiety was firing up or people were really staring hah... Well anyway Samsun gets a 6 from me I’M SORRY SAMSUN WHY DO YOU DO THIS TO ME
Tumblr media
5- Trabzon
Ye my paternal home is a shithole-- Nah it really isn’t but still..! Yeah, Trabzon isn’t that far off from Samsun but from what I’ve witnessed and what my friends from Trabzon told me it lags behind Giresun in many aspects. You can’t kiss in public or even hold hands in Trabzon city (aka Ortahisar) the Trabzonian mindset is backwards, same as my dad lmao, welp Trabzon gets a 5,5
Tumblr media
6- Rize
Jesus Rize you weren’t as bad as I thought but still :b from my own experience it’s nice, people aren’t a bunch of buttholes but still...meh it’s meh really not bad not good but from what my friends have told me it’s super shitty for someone who is from Rize since social pressure hits them way more, that being the case I had to rearrange this list. Don’t get me wrong I love our hotheads but still, it’s about secularism and the dudes over there take religion a bit too seriously I think sooo Rize gets 4,5 to 5 from me

“Since I raised them it’s only natural that they’d be dependant on me! Isn’t it? Ordu and Giresun have been kind of distant as of late so we’ve been getting along more with Rize and Artvin hehe...”
another topic that I’d like to explain more of fıojofıjre please feel free to ask such questions it’s an interesting part :DD

Ah, I’m happy to get some asks about Rize since I don’t get to draw him often! I didn’t know he was this loved though haha--
I’d say that Rize is one of the most complicated characters I’ve come up with surprisingly enough lol he has a dark background spanning so many years and-sufferings lol- memories so I’ll need a long while to actually show him off ehhh
Either way; Rize, as an older brother, has his responsibilities. He’s protective over his little brother Artvin whom he shared a good bunch of his life and a bloodline with. Artvin and Rize are the only two provinces with a majority Kartvelian culture, be it Georgian or Laz. Rize thinks since his brother is soft and naive he’s easily manipulated and bullied so he is extremely suspicious of anyone who’d like to befriend Artvin.
Rize also has a grudge against Trabzon--- or, to put it in a better way, he really dislikes him. Although it has many, many reasons behind it in the modern era it’s pretty much because of Trabzon’s arrogance and boldness. Rize can’t stand his behaviour...whenever he sees Trabzon with such an attitude he can’t help but get the need to strangle him to death. As can be seen with Trabzon, Rize values trust and openness above all! As he says, “Don’t be a fake son of a *****!!”
Ah, and who could forget? Rize is the province of the ruling party. The president of Turkey, Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, is from Rize ((though how much he counts is kinda debatable, not with Rize tho ofc...)) so he is a huge Erdo fanboy. I can easily imagine him stalking his social media LOL not to mention stalking him irl as well! When I went to Rize, they seriously presented themselves as the Erdo province in a way orz

I found my first designs of my province characters while looking at my old sketchbooks! I'd like to post them here to make a comparison between the old designs and the new ones (;;°v°)

These are the first 3 provinces that I personified, the ones closest to me. I wasn't even aware of the existance of Artvin back then! And actually believed that all Black Sean people were Lazs haha--!
The information I gave is wrong, absolutely wrong, and the way I invisioned Ordu has changed A LOT and I imagined Trabzon as...a more childish character, that changed a lot too! Giresun slightly changed as well but not that much, I think he's still recognisible.
I hope the changes I made were for the best!
