Dammit, now I'm thinking about a no power fame au where the Yukimura Clan are a family reality show. There are compilations of Yuzuru's blank stars.
About Camryn and Daliah potentially learning more family lore: Yuzuru has told no one about what has happened to him, and plans on taking it to his grave. This is because a) he blames himself for everything because no one else was treated this way so clearly it was a fault of his and b) he believes it would be selfish of him to ruin the rest of the family's positive view of their lineage.
This does not stop him from internally wanting to throttle Yūto every time he gives a 'family is the most important thing to our clan' speech.
God the Yukimura clan is such a fucking mess and I'm loving every minute of it. They truly are reality TV gold

12 Lies and 3, 4, 6, 14, 15? :o
Hi Lorei!
Thank you for the ask! I can never talk too much about "Twelve Lies..."
3. Favorite Line of Narration... From Chapter 42, "In the Weeds" because it encapsulates one of the big lessons Katsuko had to learn for character growth...
Toshiie loved his wife, his family, the things he had built here in Ikuno. That was evident in everything he did. That didn’t mean he didn’t have regrets. Nor did it mean that he would ever get over his captain. Maybe we’re not meant to get over people. Maybe we’re meant to take with us the things we learned, the joyful memories, and use the pain to become kinder versions of ourselves.
4. Favorite Line of Dialogue...
This is from Chapter 4... and it represents the moment that Katsuko (who is still disguised as a young man at this point) begins to fall for Shingen, and the moment that Shingen begins to take an interest in training Katsu as strategist:
When I re-opened my eyes, Shingen was still silently regarding me. I wondered if he had ever – well, that was a ridiculous thought. He was the leader of the Takeda clan – he had to have killed many in battle. “Does it get easier?”
Yukimura shook his head and responded first. “No. Never has.” He cleared his throat a couple of times, and gulped down his tea.
But Shingen had a different answer. “Killing? Yes. You learn to put what must done in one part of your mind, separate from the you that lives through every day, walled away from your heart. You have to, or one day you’ll no longer be able to function. But it’s still within you.” He tapped his chest. “It’s still within you.”
I understood. I was going to have to live with this. I was going to have to learn how to live with it.
Shingen sighed, and raked his hair out of his eyes. “I won’t insult you by telling you this man was a criminal and probably has harmed or killed many others. You know that. You also now know what it’s like to kill and that will weigh upon you.”
It did. I appreciated the fact that he didn’t tell me to get over it, or offer a cliched platitude like, ‘war is hell, kid.’ He was treating me like the young man he thought me to be – and I needed to respond accordingly. “Yes, sir, it does.”
His eyebrows lifted at my return to formality. “I would have respected you less if it didn’t bother you.”
6. What makes this fic special/different from all my other fics?
It's my first completed longfic (and it is very long, at 150,000 words). I didn't realize I could write that much, or finish something this long. Also, Shingen is my favorite Ikesen Character, so I wrote something that I would want to read, and it makes me happy whenever I revisit a chapter and recall the feeling I had while I was writing it.
14: Is there anything you wanted readers to learn from reading this fic?
Not especially? I mean, I did want readers to appreciate Shingen, and see what I see in him, but more than that, I wanted people to enjoy it. Also, I wanted people to like my OC and enjoy her point of view. But initially, I just wanted to write something entertaining.
15. What did I learn from writing this fic?
I learned how to have fun writing again - I had the worst case of writer's block in my screenwriting, but while I was writing this, I also managed to write a spec pilot (and have written a couple more since then). I realized that it is possible to write a story without being completely certain what is going to happen next, and I was reminded that creating and editing are two different parts of my brain, which should be used at different times in the writing process.

OC Ask, one and two because I dont know them !
Since you didn't mention an OC, I'm going to default on the one and only... Yuzuki Yukimura!
1: make a short introduction for your OC
Yuzuki Yukimura, high school student and part-time Miko, is the Tsukumogami MagiMonster. She is the latest heir of the Yukimura clan, a millennia-old bloodline of youkai slayers who transmit the powers of the Tsukumogami MagiMonster from generation to generation. She owns a sword called Onino, a Tsukumogami Sword who is bound to the Yukimura bloodline's women and the catalyst to their transformation into their MagiMonster forms.
Yuzuki is a bit of a weird girl. She is shy but also an extrovert. She loves Youkai and will find any occasion to learn more about them. She is devoted to her family, its traditions and its duties. She is skillful in combat, but she still has to learn how to control her Tsukumogami powers!
Yuzuki's MagiMonster status represents all Tsukumogami, and her powers epitomizes the concept of Tsukumogami as a whole. As such, her Tsukumogami MagiMonsters powers are based on objects. She can "scan" an object and immediately understand the "purpose" of this object and the many ways to use it the first time she uses it. She can improve an object's purpose, make the most of its use while still keeping true to its purpose. And lastly, she can communicate with an object's potential Tsukumogami residing within an object. These powers are versatile but depend heavily on Yuzuki's surroundings and improvisation skills. So, if all else fails, Yuzuki can defend herself with her trusted Gohei, although her magic tends to be unreliable… So she always carries Onino, her contract-bound blade Tsukumogami companion, along with her. Although she cannot use him in combat, he is a wealth of knowledge and advice. According to him, Tsukumogami MagiMonsters have the power to fuse with an object to become a full Tsukumogami of that object for a limited time… Is it truly possible?
2: what is their age, gender and species?
She is 17 years old, she is a girl and she is a human! Although that last part is more complex: she is a MagiMonster, a "magical monster girl". She is a human girl who has acquired the power to transform into a half-monster, half-human hybrid with super powers, and entrusted with the duty to "protect humans from monsters and monsters from humans". In her case, she can transform into a half-human, half tsukumogami!

Second second chances
Yukimura x oc (Aerin)
📖 sfw / pg13 / angsty with a happy ending / 3.5k words
⚠️ death mention, pregnancy mention, allusions to depression & unhealthy coping mechanisms (all of this is mainly in passing), time skips, there's dialogue as the story progresses, i swear! 🙏🏻
🛑 major spoilers for yukimura's route, and potentially some light spoilers for kenshin and sasuke's as well
Once upon a time, Aerin was given a second chance with her one and only, but this time, will they finally get their happy ending?
Our story starts out one stormy day in Japan, in which Aerin was on vacation and got caught in a nasty thunderstorm while sightseeing, and meets a man she later knows as Sasuke. They both fall into a wormhole and end up in the Sengoku era of Japan, roughly 500 years into the past. Sasuke arrives 4 years before the time in which Aerin lands, and they only reunite (and officially get to know one another) when she does. After Aerin ends up staying with the Oda in Azuchi Castle, she meets "Yuki", a traveling merchant with a foul mouth and not a hint of knowledge on women. The two clumsily fall in love, unbeknownst to them that they were each from enemy territory. Thus the chaos that was their Romeo and Juliet-esque love story began. The two fought tooth and nail to reunite and so they did, nearly three months after Aerin had landed in the Sengoku period, after she had chosen to give up on her future to focus on her past (with Yukimura). Until one fateful day when assassins who had mistakenly assumed the woman who now resided in Echigo's castle to be the God of War's, Kenshin's, woman. Yukimura, not having enough time to fight back as they had only been out on a walk and as such, distracted, ended up pushing Aerin out of the way, taking the sword meant to kill her instead. They managed to exchange some tearful last words ("I'm sorry I couldn't protect you.. I love you..) before he ultimately died in her arms, the loss of blood too much too fast for anyone to have survived. In a frenzy, Aerin takes Muramasa (Yukimura's sword) and kills the attacker who took her beloved from her, only to realize what she had done when the adrenaline wore off. Her hands had now been stained, and there was no coming back from this. She manages to bring the leader of the Sanada clan and his belongings back to Echigo, taking nothing for herself, and burying them altogether as is.
It's a very rough time in the castle, and she and Sasuke spend time together to keep the memory of him alive, even despite Shingen's worries that the two aren't coping healthily and need to work towards moving on. Aerin makes the decision to return to her time once the wormhole appears, given that her reason for staying is no longer among them, and that the pain of the memories they shared feels like it's suffocating her. Not even the presence of Yuki's pet wolf, Muramasa, was enough to comfort her anymore. It was only a matter of time before she could no longer handle the sad looks she received from those at the castle, or deal with the grief of being the reason why he had been taken from those they loved. Sasuke remains in the Sengoku period, for as much as he had always been in love with Aerin, he would never risk making a move on his best friend's fiancee when they were both so miserable, and he had his own found family to attend to now. Aerin had a pregnancy scare upon returning to her time, both terrified as to how she was going to explain a baby Sanada in the future, and somehow comforted by the thought of always having a piece of him with her. (Un)fortunately, it was just a scare after all, and she couldn't tell whether she was more relieved or disheartened by the news, knowing now that it would never and could never be. Unless...
...
Fast forward to the here and now, two years after everything happened. On a trip back to Japan, Aerin decides to try and make peace with everything that happened in her life prior. Reminiscing on when she first met Sasuke and how she unwillingly ended up a time traveler, before all of the good and the bad happened 500 years ago. It starts to rain after she approaches the monument where it all began, and she is hit by a strong sense of deja vu... suddenly, lightning strikes, but she never feels the pain, only opens her eyes after the bright light dissipates to find herself at the now familiar place she'd wound up in last: the very same temple she saved Nobunaga's life at. Stunned, she blinks at the flames for a moment, before making out the unconscious man on the floor. Had she really gone back in time... again? "Act fast, question later," she thinks, waking the man up and helping him out of the wreckage. The events play out nearly exactly as they did the last time, with her meeting the Oda and Uesugi-Takeda forces before ending up at Azuchi's castle. Only this time, she's baffled by the fact that Yukimura is still alive... and has no memory of his "boar-woman".
Determined to keep her live safe this time around, Aerin takes the first opportunity to convince Sasuke to let her run away with him to Echigo. It takes a lot of convincing for them to allow her to take refuge there, but once they do, everyone comes to appreciate Aerin's constant presence and assistance. All except one, poor Yukimura who just can't seem to understand why Aerin always seems so sad when he's around, or why she avoids being alone with him. Had he done something to offend her? Had one of the people he'd killed in battle been someone she knew? He just couldn't wrap his head around it no matter how hard he tried, and it didn't help that Yukimura wasn't even sure as to why it bothered him so much in the first place.
One day, when everyone was gathered for dinner and drinks, it is Kenshin who unintentionally opens the floodgates of emotion in Aerin's past. Some offhand comment he makes about not being able to change the past and losing those you care about triggers a drunken rambling from Aerin. About how she'd never be able to wipe the blood off her hands, how her blade had been forged for revenge, about how she'd never love again because she couldn't ever handle the pain again. Though Kenshin himself could relate, to an extent, he said nothing, opting to drink away his sorrows instead, as usual. By this point in time, it is known to everyone present (Sasuke, Kenshin, Shingen, Yukimura, and Yoshimoto) that Aerin comes from the future; however, no one, not even Sasuke, knows that this is actually her second trip back... yet.
It only takes a little more prodding from Shingen for Aerin to spill that she's not only back in time, but also back to back in time. They're all shocked to find out, but at the same time, something seems to click. How she knew so much about everyone and could read them so well, how she adapted so quickly, how her memory always seemed "fuzzy" because she couldn't tell if certain things had happened in this trip or the last. Suddenly, Shingen and Sasuke share a look, seemingly having figured out the missing piece of the puzzle. Yoshimoto eyes the trio curiously as the two men corner Aerin for some interrogation investigation, whilst Kenshin pretends to be disinterested. All the while Yukimura is still reeling, processing the knowledge that's been thrown at him like cold water to the face after a nap, wondering why his boss and best friend look like they're about to make Aerin cry. And again, he just can't seem to understand why it bothers him to see her hurting, but not in the way it would usually annoy him to see a someone so emotional and upset.
"It's Yukimura, isn't it?" Shingen gets straight to the point, knocking the air right out of Aerin's lungs. Too caught off guard to deny it, her face immediately gives the answer away, contorting in pain she only manages to mask all too late. "That's why you avoid him but always stare longing glances his way, isn't that right, goddess?" Exasperated, she sighs, but she doesn't deny his observations. After all, it was obvious to anyone that something didn't seem right about those two. "The reason you wanted to run away with me to Echigo was to keep an eye on him then, wasn't it?" Sasuke chimes in, thinking back to how her desperation to leave Azuchi to cross into enemy territory never made sense, given how well she was being treated there. The two give her looks of pity, attempting to comfort her, while Yukimura zones out during his conversation with Yoshimoto, fixated instead on the way Shingen's head is in her hair, and the way he grips his cup too tightly makes even Yoshimoto tilt his head in curiosity.
One breezy winter night, Aerin and Shingen are conversing in the latter's room, as he had wanted to know more about how her relationship with Yukimura was like, and what events lead up to how things played out. It would never not be painful for her to remember, but being able to talk about it now felt liberating, even moreso knowing that Yukimura was alive again and would continue to be, so long as she stayed away from him (or so her brain always screamed). Towards the tail end of the conversation, Yukimura happened to be passing by to deliver some news to Shingen, only to end up overhearing the tail end of a discussion that would forever change his life.
"As soon as I saw him alive and well, I just couldn't believe my eyes. I'd always blamed myself for his death but even just getting to speak to him again... I can't even put it into words. I missed Yukimura so much I couldn't bear the weight of it all. I was prepared to take his six coins and cross the river myself just to bring him back. Thank you so much for convincing Kenshin to let me stay here, Shingen, I truly owe you."
The dead fiance Aerin was always full of grief over... was him? He had not only been engaged to her, but had died to protect her? With so many thoughts now swirling in his head, he forgot all about the news he was meant to deliver and went walking off into the cold of the night, wandering aimlessly with his thoughts until he bumped into his one and only trusted best friend. Seeing the state the confused young warlord was in, Sasuke immediately invited the former into his room, making tea for awhile before Yukimura finally spoke up. "Did you know?" To which Sasuke furrowed his brows quizzically. "Did you know... it was me?" A few silent moments passed before Sasuke came to a conclusion. "Did I know it was you that Aerin was engaged to, you mean?" Yuki nods, his troubled expression and unfocused eyes making the ninja sigh at the sorry state he was in. "Shingen and I figured it out that night in the banquet hall," he confessed, "the way she avoided you like the plague made sense when you think of it. Aerin is likely convinced the same will happen again, and is afraid to risk the second chance you've been given. I'll wager she had meant to stay away altogether, but worried for you too much to be able to." "Why couldn't she just tell me that? Why would she just..." he trails off for a moment, "just deal with that all by herself?"
"I suppose it was for the very same reason she stays away from you, in order to protect you, in her own way." "But I fight in so many battles where I risk my life, that makes no sense." "Then perhaps she didn't want to influence you this time around. How would you feel if she had come up to you and told you she was your fiancee the day you both met in the Azuchi marketplace? Would you have even believed her?" Shaking his head, Yukimura starts to shed some clarity on the situation from her perspective. "Why would I? I had no idea who she was, much less that she wasn't even from around here yet." "Give it some time and she'll warm up to you again, you'll see," Sasuke grins knowingly at his bestie from over his teacup before adding one last remark. "Besides, why does it even trouble you so much, anyway?" The same question that had been ringing in his head since her (second) arrival was no less obvious to him than ever.
After that insightful conversation with Sasuke, Yukimura decidedly marches to Aerin's quarters, seeking answers that only she could have for him. As per his luck, however, Yukimura forgot to knock, being so used to being around other men all the time, and accidentally ends up seeing her in the bath. Aerin, who heard the door slide open, half rises out of the tub, expecting one of the maids to be stopping by with a towel and a change of clothes. Instead, she's met face to face with the crimson, wide-eyed face of her lover- no, her former lover. In a panic, Yukimura shuts the door and apologizes profusely, subconsciously making a mental note of everything he just accidentally took in.
It's funny, Aerin thinks, how she should be more flustered, but she had been with him so many times that even now she couldn't find it in her to feel any shame to be naked around Yuki. "Well, did you at least enjoy the show?" she jokes, trying to make light of the situation to ease him out of his awkwardness. She knew better than anyone that she was the only woman he'd ever been with, and given that they had yet to unite this time... he must be as shy as when they'd first met. Nostalgia rang in her heart and through her veins, making it harder than usual to keep the floodgate of tears at bay. Not taking the bait, Yukimura clears his throat and goes in for exactly what he came to ask about.
"Were you ever going to tell me?" he starts, unable to hide the betrayal he feels in his trembling voice, "Or were you just going to keep avoiding me like you couldn't stand my guts?" The words stab at Aerin's conscience, and the dam she'd so carefully been holding onto collapses, tears spilling freely down her cheeks.
"Yukimura... I just..." she steels herself before managing to choke out a reply. "I couldn't handle losing you again. I didn't want to risk getting close to you, but I just couldn't help it. I'm sorry," she sighs, sinking further into the tub until the water laps at her lips with every ripple.
"So... do you still love me?" he blurts out, unable to tamp down his burning curiosity.
"As much as I always did," she chuckles, but it's hollow, the sadness in it palpable even in the darkness of night. "But to tell you would be to risk influencing you, and I didn't ever want you to feel responsible for what happened in another timeline. You're free to love whoever you wish, please don't concern yourself with all this. I'll be alright, really." And young, stubborn Yukimura finally puts a name to the burdensome emotion that always managed to show up in Aerin's presence... love. Even in this timeline, even under such different circumstances, he had fallen in love with her all over again. Their silly banter at the marketplace, her strong will, her sense of justice, her empathy, the way they could never take their eyes off one another, wordlessly... all this time he'd been feeling jealous of Shingen and Sasuke for how much time they spent with her, of how well she got along with Yoshimoto, of the laughs they all shared together with her without... without him at her side.
Before he lost the courage to, the burning yearning within him took hold of the rational part of his brain, getting to his mouth first instead. "And who said I didn't care about you, dummy?" Her gasp was audible even from the other side of the screen, over even the splash of water from her arms coming up to cover her mouth in shock. Not even the half-hearted offense to play off his heartfelt words could get to her, if anything, she recalled their banter with more fondness than ever. 'I may be a dummy,' she thinks to herself, 'but I'm your dummy.'
Yuki starts up again before he loses the guts to continue wooing his girl, gods he loves the way that sounds, his girl, his Aerin. "What makes you think that I wouldn't fall in love with you all over again? Even despite knowing what happened, that's all in the past now, isn't it?" The emotions take hold and before she even knows what she's doing, Aerin had put on her night robes and pulled the door open just to see him again. Uncaring for the way the clothing sticks to her wet body or the way the night chill seeps into her dripping hair, she pants from the adrenaline of having all but run into his arms once more.
"What do you mean by that, Yuki?" The nickname tugs at his heartstrings, and somehow, he thinks, somehow... things will end up alright this time. The feeling in his gut when he sees her face lights up makes him wonder how he ever doubted that love was real, and he instantly knew why the past him had died protecting her. He'd do it again in a heartbeat too, he thought, if only he hadn't witnessed firsthand the effect his loss would have on her.
"It means... get over here and I'll show you," Yukimura's shit-eating grin is betrayed only by the breathlessness in his voice, too stunned by her happiness and how well she wears it. And with it finally being directed at him, he all but squints at her radiance. Without hesitation, Aerin throws herself onto Yukimura's lap, the two lovers reuniting for a long-awaited searing kiss, full of all the words unspoken between the Sengoku's own Yukio and Aerinette; and with no Shakespeare to write them a tragic ending, they would work towards writing their own, much happier ending this time.
...
"So you're telling me we uh... first... got together," Yukimura coughs, embarrassed to think about sleeping with the woman of his dreams in so vulgar a fashion, "in the middle of a warzone?"
Aerin tilts her head back as much as she can within his arms and laughs heartily, reminiscing on how different their firsts were the second time around. "Mhm," she confirms, "our first kiss was after a festival, with fireworks going off in the background and everything," the wistfulness apparent in her eyes as well as her voice. "But after we'd found out we were enemies, we snuck out in the middle of the night and sought each other out. One thing let to another and well, in the heat of the moment..." she grins over at her lover, who is currently trying to find a hole in the ground big enough to jump into.
"How did we even.. I mean.. I didn't.. hurt you or anything, did I?" She's touched by the sincerity in his voice, but even then, after all she's been through, Aerin can't help but want to tease him a little bit more. After all, it had been years since they'd last had a moment together, at least for her.
"Oh, that," she taps at her chin, trying to mask the amusement on her features, "you kind of just used my kimono as a blanket, really. Ugh, we got leaves EVERYWHERE." It is only when she chokes on her laughter at his sputtering that he realizes she was messing with him, and despite his embarrassment, he can't find it in him to stay mad when she only just started smiling again, real smiles at that. So instead, he takes out his revenge by tickling her sides with his calloused hands and her neck with feather-light kisses. It doesn't take too long for them to calm down, but once they do, Yukimura suddenly grows serious.
"Hey," he prods, nosing at her hair. She hums, sleepily grabbing hold of his robes as she makes herself comfy. "I never really said it earlier but um.." he coughs, red from the apples of his cheeks to the tips of his ears, "I love you." To her, no other words could ever make her happier than those three, and not even a lifetime of hearing them could ever tire her out. Aerin sits up, leaning over to lay a hand on Yuki's cheek, looking down at him fondly before muttering softly, just loud enough for them both to hear. "Hey, Yuki?" He hums quietly, for fear of breaking the trance of the moment, "I love you too." And maybe, just maybe, she thinks, this time it'll be alright.
Once upon a time, Aerin gave the young warlord who called her funny names a second chance, and now.. now he was the one giving her the chance to mend her broken heart with his love once more. Life doesn't often give you second chances, and she'd be damned if she let this one pass her by.

hi !!! i'm sorta free rn so i'm back <3 how are you? have you been eating/sleeping well?
i'm really impressed by how you inserted mizuki into the canon world. it feels like yukimura clan or mizuki herself really belongs to the actual world, alia !!!! but pls indulge me 👀 can u try ranking all sorcerer families including the yukimura clan? who's at the top and who's at the bottom? ⁇
speaking of sorcerer families (ehem, the zenins), how do the zenins and yukimuras interact with each other?
AAAAA i've seen the manga panels. are those perhaps about shibuya incident? if so, it's kind of funny to think that gojo's the one who got sealed now and mizuki's the one who's waiting for him. AND AND AND i've seen your sparring and drunk gojo hcs 😭 mizuki girlbossed his ass so bad... he kind of deserves it #gojoslander. but in their third fight, did she purposely lose to him? why? 😭 aaaaaa i want gojo to ask her about that. drunkjo is probably the worst gojo - you have the strongest sorcerer trying to kiss everyone in the room, probably using limitless to float or do party tricks, or worse, do something so so reckless.
Hello hello my lovely 🧺 anon! I’m glad you have free time on your hands and I hope you’re taking care of yourself! Doing as well as I can be, thank you very much!
Onto HCs we go!
I am squealing and fangirling at your words. To receive the words: you’ve written [oc] well that it really feels like thy belong in canon gives me goosebumps. Means I’m doing something right so thank you so much for your kind words. (You’re not seeing it but I’m doing a full bow to you.)
Now for the rankings. I’ve only heard of the big three and the Inumaki clan but aside from that, I’ve got none so I’ll just rank these along with the Yukimura Clan. (Heads up, this is an excerpt taken from their history book):
First among all is the Gojo Clan, the clan of the strongest, swearing to protect the world we lived in for many generations to come.
Second comes the Zen’in Clan, a family of values and traditions, a family who had sworn to uphold each and every sorcerers’ beliefs.
The noblest among all comes at Third, the Yukimura Clan, for they uphold justice and fairness, sharing their wisdom to those who seek for it.
Do not underestimate the fourth, for the Kamo Clan is known as the cunning and the brightest. Widely known as the Clan who had produced the most scholars, they too, have proven to be of help to this world.
While they weren’t mentioned in the books, Inumaki Clan had also garnered reputation for valuable sorcerers.
(Now you can see why Kamo clan had turned evil- or some people would say lmao.)
Ohhh boy. Zen’in and Yukimura. While the respect between two clans are there, that doesn’t mean the relationship is good. You could say that Zen’in are pretty much irked at Yukimuras but then again, when are the Zen’in not? (It’s probably caused by the fact that Yukimura had withdrawn from their position but still hold so much respect from the community. Something that the Zen’in will never achieve.)
Yes! The thing about that manga panel was that I was aiming for fluff but well the direction had swerved real fast. 😂 And ah hmm… ahaha- [Mizuki and Satoru got sealed and not the other way around but that’s for another time lmao.] The way I interpret the panels- it’s more of foreshadowing or in Mizuki’s case, a dream of what’s meant to happen. It’s only up to her if she will chose that path or nah.
She didn’t purposely lose to him, that much I can tell you. With these two, they never held back their strength when it comes to sparring- or fighting. They hated it when one purposely try to go easy on them as they viewed it as an insult or disrespect of their abilities. So yes, Satoru won fair and square. It’s just- too bad, he focused on the fact that he won rather than what it implicates.
Y E S. Drunkjo is the worst drunk! Honestly, Mizuki- you really wanna tie yourself with that guy for the rest of your lives? Lmao.
#🧺 anon#jujutsu kaisen#jjk#headcanon time!#gojo satoru brain rot!#gojo satoru#gojo satoru x yukimura mizuki#yukimura mizuki#yukimura mizuki x gojo satoru#this is like the highest form of compliment y’all#knowing that the oc had made it to the universe afterall

C.003 | Daughter of the Takeda
Disclaimer: I don’t own Samurai Love Ballad: PARTY or its characters. Please note that this will not follow all of Saizo’s route, and the MC is an OC of mine.
Summary: You wanted to do more than just be in the kitchen like any woman would’ve known how to do. You want to explore. You want to become so much more. But when you live in a world of war, what you decide to do in your past ends up following you to your future, even though the battlefield is no place for a woman. Will you find love or will you only find blood? Saizo x OC MC
Masterpost: LINK
CHAPTER 3: Child of War
Trigger Warning: Blood, Death, Depression
My father was hesitant as he looked at me, his gaze following between Nagamasa and to myself as I looked at him. It was etched in stone, that my hands now had blood on them, whether I liked it or not, and I couldn’t turn back from it. I did it to save my father, and the Takeda army. I couldn’t tell if he was angry, or upset that I did it. I couldn’t tell if he was scared of me, but with trembling legs, he approached me and took me into his arms. “I-I was scared that I lost you…”
"I'm okay, Papa. It's not my blood, see?" I pulled back to show him my body and make sure there weren’t any wounds. “Now we can go home, Papa.”
"I'm so happy you're alive. I–"
Blood splattered over my smiling lips, but the happiness drained from my body as I watched my father fall sideways into the muddy grass. The sight made everything go silent, knocking out the commotion that followed. I barely noticed that Lord Shingen cradled me in his arms, until I realized I was getting further away from my father's body and I could only scream.
“Papa!”
This was never supposed to happen.
This is why I came! So he wouldn't have to die! Not because of me!
I could barely remember what happened after that. The journey home, the burial... Lord Shingen personally met with my mother to deliver the news and myself, even though only one of us made it home. I was like a body without a soul. The words of how I was a remarkable warrior at my age, skilled and the praises he sang for my father felt like nothing to me.
My champion. My family's hero.
...was gone.
I don't think my mother could ever look at me after that. I had taken away her husband before anything else, that I had been the one to come home by myself instead of with him as I had promised myself I would. She had to raise my little brother and I while running the restaurant by herself. I stayed in the kitchen most of the time, where she wouldn't have to look at me in the face and I wouldn't be able to crack under the pressure that my father served these customers with a smile.
Mom always kicked me out when things got slow as if to say it was for me to take a break, but it happened only once in a while and chances were it was the mistakes I made in cooking that day.
I busied myself with cleaning up and throwing out the garbage, but every time I went out, I could remember my father being here, practicing for the battle.
"Man, was it just me or was the food just terrible today?"
"I don't think you're wrong there. My food was a bit too salty, but I didn't have the heart to tell her!"
"Her husband's death must've hit them really hard. At this rate, they won't be standing much longer."
After they had walked out of sight, I stepped out onto the street and looked at the restaurant. I was ruining it… I ruined what my father worked so hard to build. My heart felt heavy with sadness, and my feet took me away from there without a second thought. Tears streamed down my cheeks as my surroundings became more populated with trees and bushes, ignoring the scratches I was getting from the twigs as I ran. Even as Rai ran in the distance alongside me, I kept running until she cut across to catch me, my arms wrapping around her as she sat to let me cry into her fur until I could cry no more.
After the funeral, I lost everything that made sense. My mother had to put up with me, and the only thing I could really do is try to make up for what I did to make her lose such an important person in our lives.
With quiet thanks to Rai for being with me as I cried, I returned to the restaurant and approached my mother with a soft voice, “Here, mom, let me do it.”
It was the first time I had spoken to her in a long time, but she eventually allowed me back in the kitchen. That night, no mistakes were made, and eventually, I started serving again. When I had free time, I trained in secret once again like I once did. Sasuke had come a few times to get a rise out of me so that I would learn much of what I hoped to be, so that I could not let my father's death be in vain, but I don’t think I could kill someone after that.
But when I was 17, I could not kill the man who burglarized our home and instead, allowed him to become captive to the townspeople who passed their own judgment on him.
That was the day that I decided I was done. I was tired of killing and fighting. If I killed again, I would end up losing someone precious to me once again. It was that thought that made me push away all concerns of fighting on the battlefield, and made me fight for the restaurant instead, but the haunting nightmares of my father’s death as a result of my mistakes still haunted me on occasion.
My visits to Rai had diminished, though she had entrusted to me the only cub that survived of her latest litter, Sen. Sen stayed by my side when her mother passed away, looming in the shadows as she watched over me. She followed me everywhere I went, even as I went to a samurai castle when I turned 20, but I had told her to stay away from me. I know Rai told her the story of what happened that day. The day my father died and I lost that part of me. But I couldn’t run with the pack in the woods anymore. It was my mistakes that drove people to the doorsteps of Hell.
Instead, I kept my smile and smiled on as if nothing was wrong.
I smiled even though I had taken my brother’s place as a poison taster, my chest bound and dressed like a man. We had insulted the magistrate of the town after he tried to convince me to marry him, no matter how many times I refused. I could never think of love, or marriage when it meant marrying him.
Somehow, I didn’t end up too far. It was Tsutsujigasaki Castle, where I was appointed to be Lord Shingen’s poison taster. It had been so long that I didn't think he remembered me, even as I revealed to the clan my identity and the reason I had deceived all. Lord Shingen welcomed me with open arms and said he would have liked to accept me as his own daughter, especially since I had previously told him that I didn't have a father since he died in war when I was young.
Lord Yukimura stumbled quite a bit after reality hit him, but I remember a specific shinobi that had been wary of me from the very beginning.
I didn’t see Saizo that often since he was always at Ueda with Lord Yukimura, but in the days that they were there for meetings with Lord Shingen, I found him between breaks and lazy afternoons sleeping with one arm propped up on the veranda, up on the roof or in a tree somewhere.
He had threatened me in the beginning, as if I was there to get Lord Yukimura, but I assured him I wasn’t.
My only way of gaining his trust was the offer of dango, since I couldn't pay him with any money. The conversations we had seemed one-sided but he seemed to have strong perceiving eyes either way. There were times that I acted like I didn't know how to do anything, like how to climb a tree or how to stay balanced on the rooftop. Probably because I knew that purposely dying wouldn't send me to my father, and I was willing to let fate do its work.
But each time, Saizo was right there to catch me.
"And just what were we trying to do?"
I couldn't help but wonder if he knew, because all shinobis just seemed to just... know. But I still fed him the obvious answer as I had been calling him moments before I found him on the rooftop. "S-Saizo!" Those crimson eyes of his captivated me as he held me up steady on the rooftop. I could hear my heartbeat thudding loudly in my ears, biting my lower lip before I looked away to try to remember the reason I came up on the roof. "L-Lord Yukimura was looking for you!"
That exasperated look was amusing each time, especially as we could hear Lord Yukimura calling out for him and his voice growing louder as he got closer to our location.
"That'll be ten skewers of dango, Little Lady."
My eyes widened. Ten? "F-For what!"
"For saving you."
I pouted and huffed. "Eight."
"...Nine."
"Seven."
"Eight."
I tried to reason how far this little game would go on until he had to leave. "Six."
He sighed. "Stubborn, are we?" He didn't respond to my barter, instead letting me go so he could hop down to land in front of Lord Yukimura.
Soon, I followed in my descent down the ladder to head to the kitchen, apologizing to the maids for being late, all while my heart continued to thud in anticipation of making Saizo’s dango.
What is this feeling…?

HC: The Shiranui Clan descends from African origins.
just hear me out plz i know this is strange but it has been on my mind for ages.
With the country being closed to foreigners with the exception of trade via the dutch port during the Edo Period, Africans coming to Japan is obviously something that would have had to happen many, many years prior the Shogun’s reign. Several centuries, lets say.
And normal humans wouldn’t quite have that capability back in the day, so let’s just say some big mighty demon came from there one day. Just off the top of my head. It’s a HC. Anything goes.
This would explain why Shiranui’s name is not African, as his clan’s ancestors would have adapted to japanese life. Adapting means to change, adjust, convert, etc., which would mean a couple of onis of the clan here and there would have ‘mingled’ with some of the natives of Japan in order to understand their new home in a new country better. This is how the clan would have begun taking on names of Japanese origins, with the exception of a couple of stricter bloodlines wishing to abide by their African roots, using African to name their children.
This would be during a time where the Oni Clans wouldn’t be so prejudiced against the human race, as demonstrated, strongly, by Kazama and Kodo during Hakuoki’s events.
All inhabitants of any Oni Clan (Shiranui, Kazama, Yukimura, etc.) will all hold the same family name of their clan name. So for example: everyone would share the family name Shiranui, referring to each other using birth names as everyone considers themselves related, by blood or not, in some way. The only exception to this is that the village chiefs are referred to as their family name with the honorific ‘sama’ or something along the lines of indicating higher status (thanks @edomusings for helping me with this! You’re great! <333).
Not everyone would have dark skin like Shiranui Kyo, as some specific families within the Shiranui Clan would have higher percentages of Japanese genetics in their bloodline. To have darker skin among the clan speaks an unspoken label of slightly higher respect, as it shows they are tied with the original settlers of their clan, though this is not an official rule among the people. It is purely personal belief, though it is popular.
Why African?
Any Hakuoki player instantly recognises the dark skin Mr. Shiranui Kyo possesses, yes? Though it’s already obvious enough, if you look at this CG, compared to Harada, who has much paler skin, this is clear.
There are many backgrounds that have dark skin too, this I know. But after doing some research, there are a number of ethnic groups within the countries of Africa that hold a wide collection of skin tones. There are tones that are as light as some Asians, tones that are the darkest on a global level and everything in between, solely within the region of Africa. An official research study conducted by specialists is linked here which explains the reasoning as to why Africa has so many skin tones, just so I don’t bore everyone.
Also because Africa is cool and I want an excuse for my OC to have an Afro. EDIT: I have been told by the lovely @lawrichai that an indigenous group of people in Japan, the Ainu people, originate from African origins! This works great then! :)
I don’t actually have that much to say about this HC, but I just felt like creating some sort of reason as to why Shiranui’s skin is just randomly darker than everyone else in japan, in which Japanese are not a naturally a dark-skinned nation. And it’s been in my head for ages and I actually really like this idea.

RULES: Choose any three fandoms (in random order) and answer the questions, then tag 10 people you want to know better.
Three Fandoms:
Mystic Messenger
Samurai Love Ballad: Party
I really struggled picking a third, since I’ve only done two routes on KBTBB (which is the main other fandom I’m in besides the Arcana and I’m worried that if i covered the Arcana I’d just end up raving about the devs and their gross business practices) and it seems unfair to judge characters I don’t know that much about comparatively. Instead I’m going to rate the game I played last, which is a horror visual novel game called The Letter. It’s kind of like The Ring meets The Grudge meets The Haunting and I really recommend it for anyone who enjoys both VNs and those movies.
The First Character You Loved:
Zen, followed by Seven. It seems weird to me now, but here we are. My first ever Mysme OC (and Mysme fics in general) were based around Seven and his route. I look at older posts in my blog and the drafts I had for those fics and am like
Clan Date. I know that this is technically three routes in one but there’s literally nothing I dislike about Clan Date and Masamune’s was the first route I played
Isabella. Smart soft girl who lives on instant ramen and works hard for her family? The only thing I can dislike her for is her squeaky voice.
The Character You Never Expected To Love So much:
V. It’s weird saying that now, but until I started writing him I didn’t have much of an opinion on him. Same with Vanderwood
Hideyoshi and Yukkins. I was kind of meh on Hideyoshi before I played his route, but he was so sweet??? And they set him up with major, major character flaws that will become relevant in his s2?? Hide is such a good example of a character that’s blatantly fond of the MC and treats them well in every route without it becoming a clumsy, guilt ridden saga of unrequited love. In regards to Yukimura, I expected his route to have the Mitsuhide syndrome of its storyline and development being neglected in favour of another character, but I was pleasantly surprised.
Hannah. I brushed her off as a rich brat, which she is, but her POV chapter really changed my opinion of her.
The Character You Relate To The Most:
Jumin and V...though especially Jumin. I too am an idiot who loses their shit once they develop an emotion
Date Masamune. People are intimidated by me until they realise what a dumbass I am.
Zachary and Marianna. Between Zachary’s PTSD and Marianne’s conflicting feelings about herself and her sexuality, I felt very called out.
As for me, I would have chosen:
I don’t understand this question at all; the wording is horrid. Like the characters I want to be like?
Jaehee or Elizabeth Third. I’d love to have my shit together or live my best life curled up in Jumin’s lap.
Pretty much every character in SLBP is a human disaster (sometimes including MC) so I’ll go for MC’s mum. She’s the most resilient, brave and kind character in the entire game, running a restaurant after her husband died, raising two children and continuing to run the restaurant to keep them fed even after MC sacrifices herself pretty much.
Maybe Rose? I don’t like those implications though dgfdgfd.
The Character You’d Slap:
Rika. I won’t hesitate, bitch
Ieyasu. Also Shingen in his common route.
I don’t think it’s possible to punch a ghost, so Luke I guess.
Three Favorite Characters (in order of preference):
Jumin = V > Jaehee
Clan Date (Masa, Kojuro, Shige) = Clan Sanada (Yukkins, Nobuyuki, Saizo)
Marianne = Ash = Zachary
Character You Liked At First, But Don’t Like Anymore:
Seven (actually both of the Chois tbh) and Zen. I just associate Zen with hate anons at this point (which I KNOW isn’t his fault but that’s just how the cookie crumbles). The Chois I loved right up until the narrative revolved around them in ways it really didn’t need to and really shouldn’t have. I was replaying V’s route recently and even in one of the VNs while V is half dead it’s brought up that Seven is salty because he’s crushing on MC. Like?? Why is that necessary
None really.
I’m going to say Rebecca but tbh I never really liked her to begin with.
A Character You Didn’t Like At First But Do Now:
None really, it tends to go the other way.
Hmmm, I didn’t really dislike any of them (and those I did I still don’t like lmfao)
Hannah!
Three OTPs:
JuminV, JuminMC, VMC, Jumin x V x MC
SaizoMC, SaizoYukkins, SaizoYukkinsMC
Ash x Isabella, I guess
Almost everyone I would have tagged already did this, so I’ll tag @juminssi, @mysticmikalla, @misskiku, @michiigii-writes-mysme, @heavenzfiend, @silver-wings04, @reifromrfa and @annalulz
Also YOU.

DC OC | Yalwa Yukimura
Yalwa Yukimura is a member of the Yukimura Clan, a house associated with the Yakuza known for its cryogenic bloodline. Yalwa participates in the family business as an aid in the illegal weapon trade.
HISTORY
In the beginning, Yalwa Yukimura grew up in Japan around his extended family members. She trained with them in combat, but became more interested in the construction of weapons. Sensing his interest, his family guided him to their illegal weapon trade which he flourished in.
Around her tenth birthday, her family moved to the United States to oversee the weapon trade. While he took an interest in the regular weapons, he desired more and zeroed in on the weapons villains used. Stationed in Central City, Yalwa plotted to steal the Rogues weapons to study them.
She has since succeeded, and has sent the perfect replicas back home to Japan for her family to use. He now plans to replicate other criminals weapons to further bolster his family's defenses.
PERSONALITY
Similarly to his cousin Yuka, Yalwa is confident and flirtatious with good business sense. Unlike her cousin, Yalwa lacks social grace and presents herself as a faux extrovert when she rather be in a lab. He allows himself to be a teenager, though there is a disconnect between him and other people his age due to the criminal background and wealth.
Yalwa is skilled in several different weapons and weaponless combats, and has immense intelligence with knowledge in mechanical engineering. This makes him a major threat when it comes to battle.
ROMANCE
Yalwa Yukimura has a romantic interest in Wallace 'Ace' West. While it is unknown whether or not the speedster returns his feelings, it is likely one-sided.
The two met when Ace was sent on a mission to recover the stolen weapons, which Yalwa intentionally dragged out in order to flirt with the speedster only for her interest to deepen the longer the two talked. Yalwa has taken every encounter since then to continue his flirtatious routine.
TRIVIA
Yalwa Yukimura is genderfluid, and uses he/him and she/her pronouns.
Similarly to his cousins, Yalwa is blasian.
Yalwa has a whole host of tattoos.

Absolutely new Yukimura lore.
Yun-Seo says Cassie is good with a wrench, and she short-circuits.
Cassie: All I'm saying is your cousin's kind of hot.
Daliah: Stop it!
I have a lot of thoughts about Yun-Seo, especially in terms of her relationship with Camryn and Daliah.
The main thought is that Yun-Seo is equally surprised to learn about Camryn and Daliah as they are to learn about her (Yun-Seo is so estranged she didn't even know about Yalwa and Yuu's existence until she met Camryn and Daliah). The second thought is the two are relieved when Yun-Seo doesn't try to kidnap them (a frighteningly low bar but you know). Plus, Yun-Seo is willing to tell them everything the other Yukimuras kept them in the dark about (I have thoughts about this family).
I imagine in the future the Young Justice bike breaks down mechanically, and Daliah immediately calls Yun-Seo who walks them step by step through jump starting it or finding a reliable tow service (though I know Cassie would probably be able to fix it).
Yun-Seo gatekeeps her relationship with her cousins from the others. Also, is that new Yukimura lore I smell👀👀
Cassie would lose her mind at Daliah's hot older cousin who races cars and knows how to fix them

🌾, ☀️ & 🌼 for whoever you want?
After Thorough Analysis of those questions, i have elected that they better fit...... Yuzuki
🌾- How does this oc get along with people they just met?
Depends on the nature and circumstances of their meeting. In general, meeting other Magical Girls is part of her "professional life", so she's always trying to be at her most formal and polite. But aside from that, it's rather difficult for her to break the ice beyond talking about the job. Yuzuki has never been the social kind of person and maintaining relationships is rather hard for her unless it's really really serious.
Two scenarios, though: either she doesn't know what to say and it will be a long, awkward silence where she will stress so much because she doesn't know how to engage a conversation oh my god please engage a conversation ; either she will talk so much it will become quickly unbearable. In general, it is based on the other person's personality.
In a nutshell, awkward but always willing to be as professional and hospitable as possible.
☀️- Does this oc make good or bad first impressions?
Yuzuki is the heir of the Yukimura clan, making her a rather well-known character in the Youkai and Magimonster sphere. These people know who the Yukimura are, their talent and exploits are still topics of interest and their legacy is present in the occult Kyoto. Although it looked like the clan's presence was wavering, Yuzuki sparkles a renewed interest notably due to her novice but promising experience. She is much talked about as the Next Big Thing. The fact that she is partnered with Onino, the sole "pacific" Tsukumogami Sword and eternal companion of the Yukimura, also is source of intimidation. Little is known about her, but she does leave a certain impression to people who hear about her.
... And then they meet her and she's a socially awkward nerd who trips on the floor, cooks terribly, stresses about exams, talks about Youkai and how cool they are, fights with a mix of assimilated expertise and silly improvisation, and hangs out with other nerds who are as ridiculous as her. Her sword, a menacing powerhouse of violence, is her surrogate uncle who gives nonsensical advice. A dork, in other words.
This is the Occult Heroine of Kyoto. She makes a mixed first impression.
🌼- What’s your favorite thing about this oc?
Yuzuki is one of the first OCs i wrote whose story was central to her core and it's always super, super fun to come back to her. I write her with the intent of making her the type of protagonist I would like to see in a story, one that would speak to me thematically and as a character.
One thing I would use as a pitch for people to Consider Liking Her: as the Tsukumogami Magical Girl, her powers are themed around the "uses" and "purposes" of the objects she uses. Her family also mastered the power of fusing with those objects to become Tsukumogami themselves. It's all around a very fun kit with which you can get a lot of mileage from and is p. much what you'd expect of a protagonist: versatile powers that can be used at their advantage at the very last minute with a little creativity and whatnot.
Also she's got funny friends and a sword uncle. She's so funny.

5’10”- tall, but somehow still short compared to Shingen. She comes up about his chin
On her left shoulder blade is a small tattoo, a thin spiral with an arrow point at the end. It’s the symbol of her clan
Long scar on her torso, at the bottom of her rib cage
Grew up as the daughter of a powerful samurai family
She never speaks about her past
Her entire clan was massacred when she was about 8
Rin grew up in an orphanage afterwards
Although it was difficult at first, she eventually became quite used to living life in the lower class, even appreciated the simplicity of it
She lives to help other children without a family to care for them, and can’t deny children either
Rin’s father was an avid Falconry practicer- the feather she wears in her hair came from her father’s favorite hawk
She reminded him of it. “Hair more beautiful than any falcon, and a soul to match.”
Rin is smart. She’s an avid reader, and knowledgeable with herbs and plants, and very much so on politics. As a samurai daughter, she had to be. She knows little about battle strategy and doesn’t care to
Not innocent. She KNOWS her way around a man
Loves spicy food, not a sweets person
Enjoys a good teasing. Especially Yukimura
Biggest fear is that someone will see the tattoo on her shoulder- she received it as a child, as a member of the Tsunematsu clan. She knows that if she is discovered, she could be killed
Understands samurai lifestyle better than anyone
Usually quiet, doesn’t laugh too openly or speak her mind to those that she doesn’t care about without a good reason
Awfully stubborn when she wants her way
Cold hands, cool lips
If you don’t say please and thank you she will fuck you up, manners are IMPORTANT
If someone deserves kindness you better give it to them
Her and Kansuke have a very understanding relationship- together they are the pillars that hold Shingen so high
Deep ass sleeper. Nothing wakes her up once she’s asleep
VERY good liar

“I think having children will be a while off for us yet...but I don't mind growing into the position of husband and wife, little by little.” Sanada Nobuyuki
Bless Voltage for having that mini-event where we had a chance to romance Nobuyuki. Maybe a real route someday, yes?
Many thanks to my friend, Hikari ( @tofukitty ), for helping me out here with the art direction of her OC’s family. I had a lot of fun doing this! ✨

@dai-rokuten-maou Historical OCs are really fun. I mean I tend to bend history as much as I can (like . . . Shigezane having bleached hair) but it’s a fun place to jump off from. And I also try and think about where my OCs are coming from, and what sort of background contributes to their personalities. Like Mine is Ujimasa’s granddaughter so she lived a pretty cushy life, was doted on, and grew up respecting the dead (and being able to see them.) She’s cheerful, compassionate, and lady-like but she’s also pretty squishy, can’t fight work a dickens, and is pretty naive. But Chiyoko was raised in the mountains as a ninja clan head, so she’s very proud and set in her ways (ninja clan here I stand.) But a lot of her character has to do with setting aside her stubbornness because she’s young, learning from her elders, while also trying to fulfill her own wishes for revenge/getting rid of the person who wiped out her family. And then there’s Aki. Who’s the daughter of Otani Yoshitsugu so like . . . what would he be like as a dad? How do I fit in his personality and the air of Osaka and how would that effect a lady? So she’s very proper, polite, and democratic but also has a very fake, forced personality. She sees herself more as a weapon and tool than a person, and is totally lacking in empathy and emotions. Which I really think is a fun contrast to Yukimura, who is too honest and emotional to a fault. Which lends to Akihime growing as an individual and literally stepping out from her Father’s shadow. I LOVE MY BABIES.
