Yeah no okay that's all I have. That's not much but I'll try and tell you about their designs!

-Jaide has the best of the refs, but I'll briefly go over what remains constant in her designs: vest, blue undershirt with cuffs on the sleeves, long skirt, and the gray cloak with the frills if she travels out.

-Even for a nobles' son, Levi's clothes are kinda basic. Just a basic shirt/tunic and pants, with some variations of collars or cuffs. He has blond hair (blond is a stretch. it's really yellow) and his bear mask is only for traveling out.

There's a forever lost page of the old storybook I used to work on that showed a better picture of Jaide's husband. If you look close in the background of the storybook page I did share- there's a painting with the happy family there.

-Jaide's husband has red, curly hair. He has a red shirt with some yellow stripes on the fluffy parts of the sleeves. He has purple puffed pants and brown boots that come to the knees.

I'm not great at describing clothes, sorry </3 And I can't give away too much about Jaide's husband! He's going to star in a oneshot that's going to come sooner rather than later.

ART & CRAFTS

Put your OCs in character scenario memes! Here’s some I found on Deviantart.

Do an art trade where you draw someone’s OC and they draw yours!

Use those "Draw The Squad" templates and draw your OCs.

Crochet/knit/sew/etc. a plushie of your OC.

You can also make a paper doll! You can find tons of tutorials on youtube.

You can also make a figure of them out of something like clay, cardboard, or another material.

You can build them out of Legos!

You can also create a hand or finger puppet of them.

Draw a comic featuring your characters!

Create an animation of your character.

Draw your characters as animals!

About me: I tend to spend most of my time in my head, and I can easily come off as ditzy or standoffish. I have inattentive ADHD and I'm really introverted, so typically I try not to speak up unless I have something worth saying. I keep a few close friends and tend to unload all of my thoughts from the day on them (and as quiet as I am, I talk a mile a minute when I'm excited or explaining something interesting.) Multiple people have told me (to my face c':) that they were shocked by how intelligent I actually am. And yeah, maybe math and spelling aren't my thing, but for the most part, my silly goose hat is a choice. Was tempted to put this on the last post ranting about dating sims, but those were more general and these are more specific to me.

I hate how many visual novels/relationship games have sex/implied sex/kissing/accepting a confession integral to the good end, even when romantic love isn’t integral to the plot. It opens it up to the people only interested in one/a few/no love interests. As an Aro/Ace, I sometimes want a story driven game/visual novel focused on building relationships and character study *without* having to use the “make an oc and rp your ass off” method. As much as I don’t want queer routes to be relegated to implication/friendship, I also don’t want all het routes to be locked behind romance. Playing romance games for the plot gets really tiring after the billionth time pretending you want to kiss the love interest so you can see the end of their arc.

It sucks that alloromantics (and to a lesser extent, allosexuals) have the monopoly on intimate stories. Even saying I’m aromantic but a fan of any number of otome franchises makes people doubt either my status as a fan or (more commonly) my status as aromantic. I try not to mention it because it’s awkward to explain how in the world a romance game is appealing to an aromantic. It’s become a meme when people say they’re playing a romance game “for the plot” but some of us genuinely are. I wish I could just say “these are for another target demographic” and play something else, but there aren’t really many games with the same appeals but no romance.

I know some people are gonna think “why are you complaining that dating sims have dating” but that isn’t the issue I’m having here. Asking devs to just make games marketed solely at Aros is obviously unrealistic, we’re a tiny market that won’t even all be interested. But is it always that hard to give a little bit of optional changed dialogue that lets us have the same experience minus the romance? Again, romance has an unfair monopoly on stories and games about intimacy and relationships. I have to complain about dating sims because dating sims are the closest thing to the genre I want to play. It isn’t fair (and is indeed quite limiting to the art form) to insist that aromantic people aren’t allowed to want representation in the media we consume just because there’s no precedent for representation.

multi-chara post: take a prompt and think of it in different locations! he gives you his jacket? why? because you're outside and it's cold, because you're at his game/set/etc. and he thinks it'd be cute that everyone knows you're dating, because you want to sleep and you can use it as a blanket, etc etc.

^ just start naming random places in ur head and see if anything happens—get more specific as u go! house. kitchen. the walk-in pantry. boom: big party scene and person a walks into the pantry at the sight of their favourite snack, caught by person b who's the host. oh that's a good one actually. woah. LOL

and like,, it's so so cool to just.. do an idea that's been done before. remember that if u as a reader will eat up the same prompt/trope over and over again, that u as a writer can feel happy to write it too!! So Many of my own posts have been done before but i think they're still good in their own way 🤷🏻‍♀️ U writing it rather than someone else means that it'll automatically be special to U.

08. Whats an old project idea you've lost interest in? There are so so many </3 Most recently: I was going to combine my (small) knowledge of gamedev and art skills and make a short, silly, dating sim for KHR. Like something super short, just so I could flex that muscle before I forget how those things work - on the technical side I had it all figured out, even with some more sparkle than your average fangame, then I would just need art and... oh god writing. I forgot that I'd rather peel my skin off with a spoon than do actual writing. Especially dialogue. And I dont think im very good at making characters be in-character using words. So im putting it on the backburner untill i have the cashmoney to commission someone for it \o/ And most notably: back in the day when deviantart was still more of a thing I had a wholeass webcomic with my OCs. But then I did like a few pages and lost interest because it was taking too long and I was doing art for work so it kinda burnt me out also my silly ass did *not* write more than 10 pages in advance.

I do still want to make more comic-ish stuff, but I think I'll stick to fandom things for now. Easier on the brain </3 26. Whats a piece that got a wildly different interpretation from what you intended? I cant think of a more recent example rn, but back in 2015ish my art teacher thought my sketch was 'sooo cryptic and mysterious' because I drew my emo ass OC and wrote the words 'm3m3' next to it as in, you kow, meme, because that was a funny word at the time. Well hello!! I just wanted to pop in and say that the Francuoer dating sim will go on a hiatus for about 6 months to a possible year because I'm currently in a hospital.

My hospital original planned stay was for about a week and a half because my instines were twisted. But come last night they got infected after a little over 24 hours after the surgery to fix them was. And now I'm missing an organ cause my stomach was so big that it ran into my lungs. So I have to heal and use a bag that's comming out if me for the bathroom until December or January since that'll be when i get my new organ transplant. Than I have to wait will next August to be able to take the bag out I think and than a few months later I'll be fully healed.

At least that's what I was told and understand, I've been on a bunch of meds for pain and stuff since the 18th of August so I haven't been fully here at least only like 50-60% here but yeah still not alot. But anywho, as you can see I won't have the energy or availability to finish working on the dating sim. I also won't be working at I'll be finishing my classes by my teachers probably helping me a lot more than I'd want to [cause I'll feel stupid]

But along with these pictures I made before I was ever in the hospital I wanna share with you guys what all I had left to get done! For are I had to finish all backgrounds expect for 2 for his character sprites I have the base of them done just had to draw the odd ones and the different face expressions, I also already had the color palettes ready for his date outfits along with the designs an I just had to draw them. For the script I had pretty much all of it done except for the conversations and the aftermath of what would take place during/after each date. And of course the editing it all together.

Now I know that seems like a lot but if i was able to work on the script while still going to school and work in between than I would have gotten it done in about a week or less. The art would have taken me about a week maybe 2 weeks. And then editing and making sure everything is right and ready before posting would have taken me about 3 weeks since it would be final touches. So all together that would have taken me about a month to finish!!

But now i won't be working on it or other projects [like the animation memes] because I'll be too focused on healing and making sure nothing else goes wrong (;_; ) now I'm not asking for money support or anything because me and family together are able to cover everything [luckily] BUT I would like to ask if everyone got other fans more interneted and showed them this idea? My last couple of post babe talked about it and I'll also includes sneak peaks of what I have done with you all so that maybe by the time I'm all healer I can still have peoples support to finish it!

I would also love it if I could get some voice actors involved and maybe even game developers so that the final project can actually be a game and not only an interactive video!

Along side that I'm totally interested in working with game developers who have at least some experiences with dating sims [doesn't have to be mind blowing but I want it to look nice for a final product]

But please show some work history from what you have done and I'll reach back with you at some point and time to talk to go about it [it won't be a year or 6 months since I know work can take a while. The ending peaces will just take a year to 6 months to get to you since I won't have it done around then.

Choir

Introduction

What is Choir? Long story short, Choir started as a dating sim I wanted to create. Then it was made into a fighting game and a multi-story series around late 2022, which is what the series is known today. The lore and world of this story are surprisingly complicated, as each story has different characters and settings, but they are all connected and overlap. The series is in heavy development and will probably be made into a visual novel series in the far future. The story’s name was changed from Novialexi to Choir in 2023.

What’s the purpose of this? This directs you to any Choir media possible; I’ll keep updating this. Note that I will not add any art since all Choir art is on my Toyhouse. This is just Choir-related media organized that’s made easy for you and me.

What are the languages? Most Choir stuff will be posted in English, but miscellaneous things will be posted in Chinese since they serve little to no importance; plus, they are just ramblings that I randomly thought of. Posts in Chinese will be posted on Twitter due to the translation feature provided. It will also have a (CH) mark next to it.

"Mary's 2021 Summary of Art" - Published: Dec 31, 2021

(Warning: This is going to be a wall of text.)

January in January i was asked by a friend "Hey, i wanna learn how to make Live2D models. Wanna join?" At first i thought i couldn't do it, but in the end decided "Why not?". That's the mindset i wanted to carry through the year. Pictured is the result. I've been asked to try and complete said model, so next January will be fun! This month i also took part in a FFXIV tag on twitter, where we made fake screenshots for a dating sim. That's where i decided i wanted to try and work on a visual novel, at least once. It has always been one of my dreams after all!

February ...And so i jumped on the lemmasoft forums to look for work. Found a person making a cute little self-love tale for the Valentines Jam and figured it was a good idea to give it a try. It was so much fun. Took the challenge as far as i could, and i'm still really proud of being part of this! Still not sure if game art is for me, but felt great to finally give my dream a try. If you take anything from this text wall, let it be "Wanna do something new with your art? Try it out!"

March I think it's around this time we started playing our TTRPG game (Asera)? Ok i forget when we started, but this was the month i sat down and designed my little thief (Layla) and my boyfriend's fighter (Daimyorus). Also made designs for Layla's family. It was a rather busy month (character design is time consuming!), but nothing really 'wow' to show off for it.

April This month i drew some memes for Asera, and sketched a bunch of illustration ideas... That are still sitting there, unfinished. You see, this same month i got accepted into my first zine ever, as a merch artist! Trying new things continued to pay off~ I got stickers done from sketch to flat colors around this time.

May Finished the sticker sheet for the zine (pictured), then proceeded to take...around a week on the phone wallpapers. I restarted it so many times before... When the idea finally clicked i stayed up till 4am drawing >>;;; I was terrified I'd miss the deadline, and had an apology letter on the back of my mind the whole time LOL Thankfully, it worked out and they were delivered in time. Sadly had to skip Mermay because i was busy with miscellaneous projects (only drew 1 mermaid for it, which I wanna redraw someday). Started making little chibi faces for my OCs so i could have a catalog... Which is an idea I wanna revisit later. Having a good reference of everyone would be really nice! (...even if i never do anything with them lol)

June Asera bug bit me again, and i spent a while making chibis for our characters. Also made chibis for NPCs. Designed more NPCs. Designed some of our weapons. For work, got commissioned by a VTuber to draw them and their pet (pictured). Technically finished on July3, but worked on it most in this month so eh LOL

July I made an off-hand comment about working on commissions a month or two before, then on July my friend approached me like "Hey, so you said you're doing comms... Can I get one too?" I had! So much fun! This is also the first time i recorded my drawing process (i do have plans on making a youtube channel eventually). It made me realize i... Take a bit too long. This one was 36hs. That's a bit much LOL But hey, i'm proud of it and both friend&his girlfriend like it, so 100% worth!

August Another busy month, drew some twitch screens for a friend, updated an old drawing (xmas chibis), filled some ff14 memes, experimented with a more sketchy style so i can have a faster type of drawing (...why didn't i post it?) Pictured is the bday gift i made for my boyfriend. Still haven't posted it here, but it's on my stash somewhere >>; It's filled with love!! Maybe that's why I'm still proud of it.

September Made the final twitch screen (pictured), and designed more outfits for Asera (fashion design is indeed my passion). Cleaned up twitter and started working on a TOS so i can maybe open commissions soon... Speaking of commissions, this is when i drew the Dauntless illustration. Nature BGs are my favorite thing ever!

October A very busy month. Worked on commissions (all 6 of the characters O_O) + bunny boy for the EW countdown. The original sketch for the commissions was.....interesting....idk how that got approved LOL But the final result is something I'm very proud of! For the rest, drew more sketches and outfit designs for Asera, plus a chibi sketch to commemorate EW's release (bf's wol and mine ON THE MOON)... Having no idea it would be delayed very soon LOL

November Got into a bit of an art block, which was broken by... Asera characters as Animal Crossing villagers!! Why are drawing memes/challenges the best thing ever?? After that, i managed to start working on a commission my sister asked. Drew all of her students and their favorite toys. They're all so friggin adorable ;_; Was stressful, yes, but also a great experience. Also i think this was my first time drawing real people? Well, my first time doing that for a commission at least!

December Sadly another art-block month. Made yet another Asera sketch (bc i don't have enough of these!), and twitch badges/emotes for ADigitalKing (pictured, also sorry for the hideous watermark, but they paid for it ok TT). Currently working on twitch emotes for my friend, but struggling to have them on a quality level i'm comfortable releasing.

Phew, what a year! My journey for a year where i have finished art to post on every month continues, but i'm proud of how much closer i got this time. Also got to try so many new things too! Overall, a good year.

Onwards to 2022!

i would date Noiren

Noiren would be hesitant to get close to anyone, especially those loyal to the empire, given his past. He never considered attempting romance because he never thought of anyone loving him. He was beat down by his master and overseers. But once he opens up and accepts that someone wants to love him he will be protective, and a little touch starved, always wanting to be held.

To take his route you have to be patient. You have to earn his trust by being a capable and loyal companion. Treat him gently, since no one else does, and help him find time to take care of himself. The dates would include going out and fighting small hordes of beasts, or riding along alderaans wilds on his speeder, take in the view and relax. As the date progress he would start to open up to you about his past and his lost family. He won't realize his feelings right away so you'd have to confess first and he would react with shock, but nervous excitement.

Noiren is a tough shell to crack, but in the end he's just a grumpy gentle giant that deserves all the cuddles one can give.

OC dating sims: I'm a completitionist (and I love all your chars), so I would try them all. Yes. Even the fucked up one for Kal :P

Of course xD Ven: Chaotic. Sweet. Very lewd, very quickly. Lot’s of parties. Get’s surprisingly deep later on, with some sad moments. Very affectionate and probably funny. His good ending is easy to get, but his bad one is soul destroying.

Kal: Messed up. Starts off ‘perfect’, but gradually devolves into what’s best described as psychological horror. The only way to get a his ‘good’ ending is a fiendishly complicated series of triggers that must be hit. The ‘good’ ending is pure angst.

Jediahi: Cute. Lot’s of sports related minigames. Some debates on morality in there, and a lot of emphasis on punching people you don’t like. Good route is sweet in a ‘badass couple’ way, but the bad ending is bitter AF.

Avior: Starts off cold and unapproachable, and stays that way for long enough that most people would choose someone else. Platonic route, big on nerdery and books. Also, lizards. Good ending is extremely sweet, but the bad ending would be cold and very dismissive. You fucked up and you’ll know it.

Beryon: Tsundere. Angry but kinda cute about it. Affectionate when he stops swearing at you. Tsundere. Gets steamy. Good ending is surprisingly adorable, but the bad ending is heartbreaking.

Siriastri: Cinnamon roll. Pure fluff, but gets sad. Kind. Lot’s of healing. Good ending is sunshine and loveliness. Bad ending is bittersweet.

Ija: Aro route. Gets steamy, but backs off quick. Fun, but delves into some issues about self image. Good ending is hellraising fun with her, but the bad ending makes you feel like you’ve missed out on something good and got the second place prize.
