I’m sure it was sunny two seconds ago!🧐 As well as making my classic pieces it’s so nice to make a start on new ideas because some work and some just don’t. I often have that light bulb idea in the middle of the night and almost lose sleep over it to realise in the morning that it wasn’t so amazing after all. Sometimes I just have to start making and see where it leads too which has often been the case for my most popular pieces like the La Lune and Noosa vase. So let’s see how this one turns out. Meet Maya, a small vessel inspired by cenotes which are natural wavy caves that contain pools of water. Currently a one-off piece, hand sculpted from paper and card waste made into a clay and hand painted in a pastel pistachio green.
