Hello Open Circle Fleet!

As you may know, or possibly just finding out by reading this, we have our very first Obikin Events event coming up!!

This mini event will run July 23 - 24! 

**If you saw the other post, please know I goofed on the dates there! These are the correct ones!

I know this is only a month away, and doesn’t give you much time to create for, which is why for this event there will be no minimums or maximum word counts, no set sizes for art, no x amount of pics for an aesthetic/mood board, no x amount for a playlist, no x amount length for fanvids or podfics. This event in particular is meant to be low pressure. 

You can create art, podfics (though please do make sure you have the authors permission if it’s not your fic you are turning into a podfic), mood board/aesthetics, playlists or whatever you can come up with to fill the prompts!

Which leads me to prompts: 

Day One, July 23 - Canon Verse! Create anything you wish as long as it’s set in the GFFA. Meaning you can create fix-it fic’s, never a Jedi, raised a Sith, clone wars era pwps, saving Anakin from falling to the dark side, explore scenes you felt were only glossed over. You can even do AUs as long as they’re set within the GFFA!

Day Two, July 24 - AU’s! Want to explore Anakin being hot for Professor Obi-wan? Want rich business man Obi-wan to hire personal chef Anakin? Want an excuse to write that bodyguard fic or what about the raised as a Sith? Well today is the day for you then friend, because this day is all about AUs! Any and all are welcome!

I know these prompts are very broad, but this is meant to be a very low pressure event. If you want to create only for one day, awesome! If you want to do both, fantastic! If you want to create multiple things, then I salute you King! But don’t feel like you have to do anything but bask in what other people create is still valid!

Hello Open Circle Fleet! 

Welcome to our second mini weekend event, Life Day Celebration! This mini event will run December 10 - 11! 

As usual with our mini events, there will be no required minimums, nor maximums! You may create whatever you wish with your chosen medium - you can create podfics (with the author’s permission of course), art, fic, moodboard/aesthetics, playlists, cosplay, a recipe, meta, headcanons, fanvid, whatever you wish to! And this time of course, your creation can be set within the canon universe or be a complete AU!

Our prompts for the weekend are: 

Day One, December 10 - A Precious Gift: Today’s prompt is all about giving and celebrating! Have you ever wondered what they’d give one another during their first Life Day together? Have you ever imagined Anakin gifting Obi-wan a robe woven of fabric from Tatooine? Ever wondered if Obi-wan might freak out trying to figure out what to get his new boyfriend’s young twins gifts? Or perhaps the gift is life itself? Whether they're celebrating the survival of the republic where Order 66 never happened or exchanging gifts on earth, the sky's the limit.

Day Two, December 11 - A Fresh Start: Today is all about new beginnings! Are the boys celebrating a new engagement, a new marriage, or perhaps a new child? Or are they honoring pulling Anakin from the darkside? Perhaps Sith Obi-wan wants to commemorate pulling Anakin to the darkside with him? Are they ushering in a new era of peace after war? Or could they be celebrating a new beginning of finding love with one another? Whether they've turned over a new leaf or it's a new year, show us what they make of it!

As with what we hope will be with all of our mini weekend events, this is meant to be very low pressure! Create multiple things for one day, just one thing for one day, or you can create for both! It’s all completely up to you! But don’t feel like you have to do anything but bask in what other people create is still valid!

Hello Everyone! 

We are looking to add another mod to our team to help out! 

Currently looking for someone to help with setting up events, moderating the discord server, helping to reblog creations (when an event is happening) and to come up with ideas on what to run! You certainly do not need any experience in these things to apply. You also don’t need to have endless free time either!

To apply, simply shoot us an email/DM expressing your interest, and whether you have any experience in running fandom events. You can DM us here, Twitter or Discord, or you can email us at obikinevents@gmail.com.

We will be accepting applications for this until April 7th. Though please be aware if the spot is filled before this date, we will let you all know!

Hello there!

Just a few quick things we’d like to mention!

While we already did a reminder post earlier, please note that today is the deadline for our Valentine’s Day Gift Exchange! You’ll have until 11:59PM US Eastern time zone to either submit your work to the collection or ask for an extension!

If you are in need of an extension then you simply need to send us an ask off anon with a way to get in contact with you, send us a DM on discord or Twitter  or send us an email to obikinevents@gmail.com.

If your assignment is not in the collection after it closes, and we don’t hear from you before that, we will assume that we need to contact a pinch hitter to take over your assignment! 

And this brings us to the second thing we’d like to mention! If for whatever reason you need to access your work again because you realized you forgot to make a note or need to add/change a tag, there are two different ways you’ll be able to do that, even after having your work added to the collection!

The first way, is simply go into the actual collection where the works are: 

While you’ll see a lot of mystery works, you should be able to see your works and be able to click on them to edit!

If that way doesn’t work, you can go to your assignments on your Ao3 page: 

which you’ll be able to find near the bottom on the left hand side (or right, if you have a flipped skin) and scroll down until you find the assignment labeled for the Obikin Valentine’s Day Gift Exchange!

Reveals are almost here!

We know all you amazing and talented creators are so excited for reveals tomorrow, not to mention everyone else who can’t wait to see and read what you’ve all created! But we just have one last thing you have left to do!

To ensure your work makes it onto the first page or two, you’ll need to change the date on your work to todays! If you don’t know how to do that, no worries, we’ll walk you through it!

First you’ll need to find your fic(s) to do so - unsure how to do that, we’ve got a quick tutorial explaining that process here! Once you’ve got your creation open to edit, you need to scroll down to this section here and you’ll see where to change the date: 

Then you simply just click on it and adjust it so the date reads 14/February/2023!

*Those in the US may not be able to do this until it’s actually the 14th! So you’ll most likely just need to do this at some point tomorrow!

Once that’s all done creators, you just need to sit back and enjoy all of the wonderful, amazing creations you talented darlings made!

Assignments are out!

You are only required to create one (1) fic or piece of art for your giftee, of at least a fic of 500 words or a clean sketch of at least 500x500 pixels, that is due by February 9, 11:59 PM EST.

Please pay attention to the DNW’s (Do Not Want’s) of your giftee!

The collection will be opened immediately to begin accepting assignments and treats! Please make sure you prioritize your assignment before filling treats! You can make as many treats as you like, as long as people are open to them. Make sure to 'gift' the treat to the person when you add it to the collection. 

Treats, just as the assignments, are meant to be kept secret until reveals officially happen on February 21!

If you need help/need an extension/need to drop out for any reason, please contact the mods asap, so that we may work with you and any concerns you have or to give pinch hitters the maximum amount of time to work on it as we possibly can!

Make sure to check the email linked to your Ao3 to see it! If you did not receive an email with your assignment, please reach out to the mods.

Hello Open Circle Fleet!

Firstly, I’ll still be taking response to the Obikin Interest check forum until Thursday (June 23) and then go through the response to get a better understand of what you the people would like to see for the blogs future events. 

Second, as I said in the other post, there is a Discord Server being put together for the Blog. It’s still under construction but I’m hoping to have it up and running sometime this week for you all. 

*There’s been quite a concern from people requesting that the Discord Server be made into an 18+ Server so that adults won’t have to censor themselves and minors won’t be exposed to things that they shouldn’t be. And after a lot of thinking, I’ve decide that is in fact what will be happening. 

So to help ensure this happens, links to the server will be handed out individually instead of one master link being put up. 

Third, don’t forget you can also find info about the blog and what events that are being run over on Twitter at Obikin Events. As well if you ever have any questions that you don’t wish to ask publicly you can also email Obikin Events at obikinevents@gmail.com. 

Fourth, as stated before to really kick off the blog, we’ll be running a weekend event July 23-24! But more information on this will be put up in a separate post that should be up either later tonight or tomorrow.

We just wanted to make a quick announcement to let everyone know that we’ll be changing up how we do things from here on out. Starting from now on the DM’s to the Tumblr blog will no longer be an option, as our second mod will be joining!

Important note for participants!

We will be closing sign ups in about twelve hours (check the link), so please double check that your dislikes/Do Not Wants are listed in your 'Request' boxes and not just your 'Offer' box because otherwise the person who receives your request WILL NOT SEE IT.

The 'Offer' box is private, meaning only the mods can see it! So if there are "hard no" items or if you are open to treats, it NEEDS to be in each request box.

Please take a moment to review your sign up (linked). We will be delaying sign ups by a few hours so please use this time!
