LIAM GALLAGHER + JOHN SQUIRES @ O2 APOLLO, MANCHESTER

No one thought it could happen, but Gallagher and Squires headed out on a UK tour to play their new penned album. Mixed reviews followed. I was never much of an indie kid, so I'm not the one to ask if it was any good. I was photographing as the house photographer on this occasion. The pit was rammed with around 17 photographers and videographers from the Gallagher/Squires camp. Lighting was a bit on the challenging side and we only had two songs. So basically it felt like in and out in a flash bang wallop. Support came from Squires son Dillion and Jake Bugg. It was my 2nd time shooting both these guys. I just wish they would move about a bit more.

#Repost @iamsilvialazzarini ・・・ Where do I start? Here’s my husband capturing a moment that I’ve been waiting for 25 years. He said I had only one thing to do, pass my book to this childhood hero of mine, without considering the fact that being in shock, my frozen hands started to shake 😂 Long story short, I managed to pass him an upside down memoir book that was shaky too 🤣 He started to laugh, signed the book and said to me “This is an upside down Bono 🙃 is that okay?” 😆 Yeah sure but “I’m not okay” as you have probably noticed already Bono🤣 A few of us telling him you are my hero/childhood hero/inspiration/a legend and he replied back you are my heroes too 🫶🏻 Amazing show! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ the last thing I was expecting was Bono imitating Pavarotti and his 🇮🇹 accent (couldn’t stop laughing with another U2 fan from Manchester sitting next to me) and again Bono singing Italian opera’s song “Torna a Surriento” that made me jump on the chair 🪑 and shout BRAVO so loud that for a second I forgot about my throat infection 😅🤐 The words he spent for his wife Ali (who I met in Dublin years ago and was present at the gig) and the new acoustic version of With Or Without gave me goosebumps ♥️ His openness, his performance and the connection with the audience made the whole atmosphere unreal. JANE'S ADDICTION @ O2 APOLLO, MANCHESTER

It was my first time shooting Jane's Addiction, I was photographing for the Academy Music Group and O2 Apollo, Manchester. I also used some of the shots for a live review on Louder Than War.

I didn't know what to expect from the shoot, but as it turned out the lights were pretty dim and initially hard to see through my camera for the smoky haze. There wasn't much movement on the stage and there were around 12 or so photographers in the pit. As is usual the lights get turned up when the photographers have left the pit, I really never understand this thought process from bands and their management.
