thinkin about. nyarletheis. i’m realizing that she’s very dark for a creature that lives so close to the surface of the water, but i don’t want to change her color scheme, which led me to the idea that she’s melanistic (or w/e the equivalent would be on this planet) and the rest of her species are much lighter colored.

was wondering how nyarletheis would even go about telling camilla her name, she doesn’t know how to spell it and it’s not like she can Tell her audibly. thinking they never learn each other’s names and just refer to each other through some symbolic nickname nonsense through morse code. however this would require me to come up with symbolic nickname nonsense and lord if i’m able to think of anything

i gotta figure out how nyarletheis and camilla like. communicate. bc nyarletheis doesn't really vocalize, at least not in a way that would translate to human speech, and it definitely doesn't serve as her main method of communicating w/ the rest of her species. not sure what Does, though .
