It has been announced by Fightful that Chicago will host Survivor Series on November 25, 2023. This will be the city's second time hosting Survivor Series specifically, with the first time being the 2019 iteration of the event.

Facts about Imani Cove:

Imani started wrestling when she was 15 years old and trained under Booker T when she turned 16.

Imani is a HUGE fan favorite in WWE. Think of good crowd responses and big pops compared to Bianca Belair, Becky Lynch, and Rhea Ripley. She's also very well respected by WWE Executives backstage.

Imani graduated from Prairie View A&M University with her Bachelor's in Music and a minor in Theater. If she hadn't gone into wrestling, she originally wanted to pursue a Broadway career.

When Imani was 8 and her sister was still a newborn, her parents divorced and she went to live with her mother and her new husband in Georgia. Her mother would lose custody of both girls to her father when Imani was 10. The last time she saw her mom was when she was 12. She doesn't like to talk about her mother or that time she and her sister lived with her.

Before signing with the WWE, Imani was the certified it girl on the indie circuit from 2007-2015, kicking ass and racking up championships left and right, as well shattering the expectations of fans and critics alike.

Imani, though a social butterfly, tends to keep her private life extremely secretive, especially in regards to her childhood.

She's wrestled in promotions such as ROH, Reality of Wrestling, DDT-Pro Wrestling, NJPW, PWG, & Shimmer.

Imani holds a Guinness Book of World Records for most title defenses while holding the NXT Women’s Championship.

At the request of Booker T, Imani auditioned for the fifth season of Tough Enough in 2010, but sadly didn't make the cut.

Imani's entrance music is heavily influenced by a combination of 90s/00s hip hop and 2000s grunge, think the Linkin Park/Jay-Z collab.

In late 2014 she became a free agent and was almost immediately approached by WWE. The initial goal was to sign her and get her into an immediate feud with Sasha Banks and Charlotte Flair, but Imani had been under a 90 day no compete clause at the time.

She finally signed with WWE in spring of 2015 and would make her first TV appearance on NXT TV in August. She would later confront Bayley during TakeOver London which would kick off their 5 month feud. Imani would win the NXT Women's Championship at TakeOver: Dallas.

Imani Cove still holds the record for longest title reign with the NXT Women's Championship at 522 days. She would lose her title to her friend and former tag team partner Ember Moon at TakeOver: WarGames in 2017. This would also be her last match in NXT before debuting on the main roster the RAW after WrestleMania 34 to begin a three-way feud between Nia Jax and Alexa Bliss.

She would win her first RAW Women's Title at that year's Money in the Bank before getting cashed in on by Alexa to begin their feud. She would win the title back at Summerslam that year and would hold the title for 161 days before dropping it to Ronda Rousey at 2019 Royal Rumble.

During COVID, she held the Smackdown Women's Championship for the first time in her career for a total of 371 days, winning it against her tag team partner Bayley. She held the record for the longest reigning Smackdown Women's Champion until Rhea Ripley.

She has an amazing relationship with her sister and half-brothers and is very close to her stepmom Renee.

Imani is a huge fan of horror movies and musicals. Very weird combo I know, but she likes what she likes. Her favorites are Bram Stoker's Dracula and Little Shop of Horrors.

She's also a BIG ASS NERD. She loves Lord of the Rings, Marvel, Star Wars, and is currently obsessed with a show called The Legend of Vox Machina. She's played several campaigns of D&D with Xavier Woods.

As a teen Imani participated in dance, music, & theater arts. She also played volleyball, and competed in track & field.

The first thing she did with her first big WWE paycheck, aside from paying off her remaining student loans, was pay for her sibling's college and move her dad and stepmother to Orlando to be close to her.

Imani grew up in an affluent musical family. Her grandmother started as a jazz singer in New Orleans before becoming a background vocalist for artists like Diana Ross, Patti Labelle, Gladys Knight, and Stevie Wonder. Her grandfather played trombone for Stevie Wonder (that's how they met).

Just two months after winning her second Smackdown Women's title at WrestleMania 38, Imani was in a terrifying car accident while at home in Orlando. She had to be pried from the car with the jaws of life and life lighted. Luckily, she had only suffered a fractured jaw, leg, and left arm, but still she was forced to relinquish her championship.

Imani would make an emotional return nine months later after her car accident and begin a feud with Bayley/Damage Ctrl before being drafted to RAW.

Right now Imani has 13 tattoos. She plans to get more in the future.

Thanks to her grandparents, Imani is a classically trained pianist and can also play the guitar.

Tonights Women’s Tag Title match is a massive indicator that something has to change in WWE regarding the treatment of black wrestlers. This was Lash & Jakara’s first match on the main roster and they had their entrance interrupted by KO, Cody & Randy in a segment that could have been later in the show & then their match was a measly 2 minutes. A historical match of two black tag teams fighting for the titles treated like a divas squash.

This is why Hunter was asked about diversity at the Bad Blood press conference and this is a big example about why his ‘I don’t see colour, only talent’ answer was a terrible response. When you treat your talent like this, it sends a message that he doesn’t value or respect them enough to give them a proper chance to flourish, what does that say to other black wrestlers & black fans of WWE? This hurts especially seeing how Shawn has shown that he can treat black wrestlers like the stars they are, giving them ample time on the show and PLEs.

On top of this Carmelo Hayes, who was one of the biggest stars on NXT over the past few years should have had several matches on PLE this year, his feud with Andrade is too good to be relegated to TV matches alone & tonight’s title match should have been at Crown Jewel (a Triple Threat between LA, Carmelo & Andrade is run at Survivor Series: WarGames won’t solve the issue but it’s a good place to start)

Kailani and Roman have been together for years, having met in NXT and been brought up to the main roster around the same time she’s been there for it all.  As both a wrestler and his wife she respects what he's had to over come in both his personal life and his professional career. The downfall of The Shield, the failed babyface push, his real-life health issues and then his return in remission. 

While they both have had struggles during their time on the main roster, the wait was definitely worth it, the married couple are currently part of the most dominant faction in the modern era, The Bloodline. 

Since September 2022 things have been expanding within the group, Sami Zayn had previously been associating himself within the family had finally earned a position in the faction as the ‘Honorary Uce’.  On November 26th he further proved his loyalty in a Survivor Series War Games match against The Brawling Brutes, Drew Mcintyre and Kevin Owens, but Owens would continue to be a thorn in the side of The Bloodline.

RAW AFTER WARGAMES

“On Saturday we went to war at Wargames right, you see who was left standing tall” The members of The Bloodline raises the ones with the crowd reflecting the action, a sea of acknowledgment swept over the Scope Arena.

No longer wanting to be in the ring and needing to create space from the overbearing tension she shakes off the hold and swiftly slides under the bottom rope letting her red shoes hit the floor. 

Choosing to make her exit by the crowd to prevent passing a certain Canadian blocking the gorilla entrance, feeling thousands of eyes follow her every move Kailani is stumbling around grabbing onto anything she can as support knowing that she's showing a vulnerability. A weakness. The Bloodline aren't weak, but Lani is.

Blindly walking around backstage trying to compose herself she hears a voice shout something incoherent, two gentle hands hold her shaking ones in theirs stroking over her wedding ring, the wedding ring that matches with the one adorning the hands grasping hers.

Looking up the eyes of her husband stare down at her, distress swirling behind the eyes she fell in love with, a sob ripped through the silence all the buried emotions finally overflow, the insecurities harboured by the young women being displayed to her spouse. Roman carefully took Lani into his chest placing his hand on the back of her head knowing that this action makes her feel safe, he begins muttering words of comfort and reassurance.

 “o lo'u toalua lelei (my sweet wife), what's wrong. Why are you crying? Is it what Kevin said?”

Not being able to string a response she simply nods her head, focusing on the breathing of the man embracing her. 

breathe in, breathe out.

“ Lo’u alofa, you are my family. How my life would be without you, I couldn't bear it. Our love runs through my blood, my mind and my soul.”

After hearing those words Kailani lifts her head from Romans chest to meet his gaze, the same gaze that holds so much warmth and passion. Reaching up she clasps her hands around his neck pulling his forehead down to meet hers. A delicate kiss is placed upon her lips. Relishing in the moment she realises he was right, while she might not be an Anoa’i by blood relation she still had a rightful part in the family.

The power of love is undeniably true, it can unite two hearts as one, its for this reason that bloodlines are built on unbreakable bonds created by love, and while blood is thicker than water without love coursing through it would be meaningless.

So this kind of hurt to write. It was inspired by NXT TakeOver WarGames 2019, specifically when Dakota Kai turned against Team Ripley and against her best friend, Tegan Nox. In this story, Stiles takes the role of Dakota while Scott is like Tegan (best friend and was out for a year with a torn ACL). Derek, meanwhile, has a similar role to Shayna Baszler's in the match, the leader of the opposing team.

It was the middle of the War Games match and the two teams stood inside their respective cages. Team Scott, consisting of the leader Scott McCall along with Stiles Stilinski, Allison Argent, Jackson Whittemore, and Danny Māhealani. Team Derek, consisting of the leader, Derek Hale along with Eric Reyes, Isaac Lahey, and Boyd. Team Derek had had the advantage, so everyone else was in the ring except for Derek himself. Meanwhile, Team Scott had everyone in the ring except for Scott and Stiles. The timer ticked down and one of the referees opened the door for Team Scott’s cage.

“Let’s see who enters next for Team Scott, whether it is McCall himself or Stilinski,” one of the commentators said. Scott looked at Stiles before giving him a small shove, as if to indicate for Stiles to go out. Something flickered in Stiles’s expression before he stepped out. He walked out a little ways before turning around and running at Scott, kicking his former best friend. Stiles walked back towards the exit of the cage, contemplating whether or not to exit. 

“What the hell! Stilinski just turned on McCall!” the commentator yelled, but Stiles ignored it. He grabbed Scott and threw him against one of the sides of the cage before whipping him to the other, repeating the movements. Stiles could hear the refs yelling at him, but he ignored them. Anger and rage filled his body. Anger towards his so-called ‘best friend’ for only choosing him because Liam Dunbar was taken out. What Scott, and the others, didn’t know was that it was Stiles himself who had taken Dunbar out! Stiles paced, glancing over at the other cage that held Derek, a sadistic grin on his face. He grabbed Scott through the bars and yanked, pulling his former friend into the bars.

“Stilinski has lost his damn mind!” Stiles could faintly hear being said, but all he could really hear was the rush of blood pumping through his body. He walked towards the front of the cage and grabbed the door, slamming it into Scott as he tried to crawl out. Scott was sent sprawling, his body twisting around as he landed. Stiles grinned and grabbed Scott’s left leg, dragging him so his left leg was between two bars…and his right, his leg that had previously had an ACL tear, was in the path of the door. 

“Stilinski is just laying waste to McCall, somebody needs to stop him!” Stiles ignored the words as he grabbed the door again, slamming it into Scott’s once-injured knee. Derek watched the scene with a grin on his face, practically smirking as Scott cried out in pain. Stiles knelt down, yanking the brace off of Scott’s knee before slamming it again and again against his knee. Stiles didn’t even hear the buzzer go off or realize that Derek’s cage had been opened until the larger wrestler walked over to him. Stiles looked up to see Derek smiling down at him, and he smiled himself. Reaching up, Stiles wrapped his arm around Derek’s neck and pulled him into a kiss.

My thoughts on WarGames:

1) besides the war games, the IC match between Gunther & the Miz was the match of the night.

2) Seth looked like a stressed out mom with his hands full when they were talking in the locker room if Randy was going to come.

3) seeing Randy back was so good!! Im happy happy he’s back!!!

4) both war games were fun!!! Even though I wanted dmg control to win!

Gunther and Miz went out there and delivered exactly what that match needed to be. By the end of it some of that respect was creeping from Gunther but he won't ever admit it.

Seth went from beginning to doubt hard as shit throughout the match that Randy would show to getting at the end of the match like "I knew you'd show up the entire time!".

Randy came back looking like he ain't ever left in classic Orton fashion. Certain people gonna have to watch their backs.

War Games ever since it came back in NXT has just been such fun matches to experience but I too wish Damage CTRL got that win. So much could happen now though come Friday.

plot: reader returns from injury to help Rhea and Candice win their Wargames match whilst also rehashing her fued with long time rival Kay Lee Ray pairings: wrestler reader x Kay Lee Ray/ reader x (platonic) Tegan Nox/ Candice LeRae/ Dakota Kai a.n: not a request, just a random drabble I came up with

Y/N let out a sigh as she looked down at the brace around her knee. She had officially been out of action for two months due to a knee sprain injury. She was healing slowly which really annoyed her but she got a call from the doctors that she was finally cleared to wrestle again. She had gotten the injury in her title match with Kay Lee Ray. Aka her own girlfriend. Nobody had a clue they were even dating though as they kept it away from the media, both of them not being huge fans of social media. Of course the only people who know were their friends.

Kayleigh still felt immense guilt from the whole injury but it really wasn't her fault. "So what did they say?" Kayleigh asked, handing Y/N a glass of water. They both lived in London as that's where they filmed NXT UK and despite them wanting to call up Y/N to NXT, she refused. She would only go if Kayleigh was also called up and that would be a long time from now as Kay Lee was the current NXT UK Women's Champion and she planned to keep that for a long time. They call her the forever champion for a reason. Y/N looked down with a sign, pretending it wasn't good news and Kayleigh frowned in guilt.

"Don't frown its not your fault," Y/N said, her thick accent coming out as she set down her glass and gently cupped Kayleigh's face. "If I hadn't shoved you off the turnbuckle so hard then this would've never happened," Kayleigh said. "It's not your fault I landed wrong. Besides, they told me I'm cleared to wrestle!" Y/N said cheerfully and Kayleigh grinned. "Whyd you trick me?! That's so not funny!" Kayleigh said, hugging Y/N in excitement. "It was a little funny." Y/N responded, hugging her girlfriend back with a huge smile.

"So what are you gonna do now? How are you gonna come back?" Kayleigh asked. Y/N had been training so she didn't have any ring rust but she hadn't exactly discussed her return. "I'm not sure I have to talk with Regal about it. Maybe he could fit me into a revenge storyline with you," Y/N shrugged. "Well whatever you do I'm glad it's gonna be with me. I like wrestling you," Kayleigh smirked. Y/N raised her brows at Kayleighs tone, "Oh? Ohhhhhh. I like that to." Before either of them could make a move the doorbell rang and there was pounding on the door.

Kayleigh and Y/N both shared a look before groaning, "Peter."

Regal decided he wanted for Y/N to make her return at NXT TakeOver: Wargames. Dakota Kai would be turning heel on her friend Tegan Nox which would leave out two spots in the Wargames match. And as Team Baszler consisted of Shayna Baszler, Io Shirai, Bianca Belair, and Kay Lee Ray, what better than have Y/N make her long awaited return to get revenge on her rival Kay Lee Ray. Y/N thought it was a brilliant idea and everyone backstage was very excited for Y/N to be apart of the first ever Women's Wargames match.

Everyone was very excited to finally work with her as half of them were familiar with her from the indy circuit. A lot of them still didn't know Kayleigh and Y/N were together so it kinda caught them odd guard seeing the two so close and happy around each other. "Wait I'm definitely missing something aren't I?" Tegan asked. They were all rehearsing the Wargames match and even though Tegan and Dakota wouldn't be in it, they were helping pitch any moves and help out. "Missing what?" Y/N asked with a smile, her arm wrapped around Kayleigh's who leaned her head on Y/N's chest with her eyes closed gently. It was still really early in the morning.

"When did this happen? And why wasn't I informed of this?" Dakota butted in with a raise of her brows, looking down at the couple. "Couple months ago. We kinda wanted to keep it out of the media though," Y/N shrugged. Tegan nodded understandingly and Kota gapped, still shocked she wasn't told about it. "Well you two look great together. You're personalities fit perfectly," Candice said, stepping through the ropes of the ring to walk over. Y/N and Kayleigh were sat in the corner of the ring on the mat with Tegan sitting across them and Kota sitting on the middle rope. "Thank you," Y/N said, and Candice gave her a warm smile in return.

"Again, why wasn't I told about this?!" Kota said once again in disbelief. "I did tell you, over the phone remember?" Y/N recalled. "Oh yeah she was drunk that night!" Shayna said, looking up from her phone in the seats. "There's your answer," Y/N said. Kota frowned and Candice patted her shoulder with a chuckle. "Hey Y/N! I just came up with the best idea!" Bianca said, walking over which made Kayleigh open her eyes from how loud Bianca's cheerful shout was. "So I was thinking that when Rhea goes to fight Shayna, Kay Lee jumps from the top rope to get Rhea but instead, you hit her mid air with a garbage can."

Kayleigh groaned not liking the idea of being hit mid air with a metal garage can. "I love that!" Y/N agreed and Bianca went to pitch it to Regal and Triple H. "Wait that's kinda funny. Your own girlfriend is gonna hit ya with a garbage can," Tegan chuckled. Kayleigh rolled her eyes and flipped Tegan off. "So do you have new gear?" Dakota asked. Y/N always wore her ring pants and a ring top and that's all anyone would see her wearing in the ring but she decided to switch it up. "Yeah I finished it a month ago. I'm actually gonna do trunks this time. They're kinda like how Lacey Evans has hers but mine are all black and spandex with a black ring top that my friend Scarlett let me borrow," Y/N said.

Kayleigh then perked up hearing that, "Wait, you're gonna wear shorts? You never wear shorts." Y/N chuckled to herself, "I know but I thought it's time I switch it up. Plus they made my ass look good." Y/N smiled and Kayleigh just gaped at her. "I'm gonna faint when I see you," Kayleigh mumbled, dropping her head back on Y/N's chest. "You're so cute, now I'm jealous," Tegan mumbled with a pout.

Y/N paced back and forth as she watched the Wargames match going on. Kay Lee took some pretty nasty hits so far so of course Y/N grew concerned. It was hard to tell if she was hurt or not because of how much Kay Lee sold the moves. Y/N wore her gear already and yes, Kayleigh almost faint when she seen her but Tegan kept her steady. Dakota had already turned on her friend Tegan Nox and right now Team Baszler stood tall in the ring. The crowd watched still overwhelmed with Dakota Kai's heel turn.

"You think I didn't have a backup plan? I didn't trust Dakota for a second," Rhea spat at Shayna. They all furrowed their brows and then the lights went out. A second later did Y/N's music hit and the lights flickered back on. The crowd went into a frenzy, everyone screaming and shouting in excited as Y/N walked out with a smile. They did a close up on Kay Lee's face and she was absolutely stunned. "No no no no no," Kay Lee mumbled under her breath in disbelief. Y/N smirked and pointed at Kay Lee, "I'm backkkkk!" Y/N grinned, pulling off her jacket and sprinting down the ramp. Unfortunately Kay Lee and Io ran to the cage door and held it closed to Y/N couldn't enter.

Y/N groaned and then ran to the end of the cage (where Io did the moonsault). Y/N then began to climb the huge cage to the top. Candice and Rhea managed to get the team down and Candice laid out Kay Lee on the metal chairs. Y/N stood on the top of the steel cage and let out a shaky breath before falling forward into a Swanton Bomb onto KLR. The crowd was in absolute shock of what just happened. Y/N groaned and did a small check on Kay Lee before letting Candice pull her up. Y/N, Rhea and Candice all shared a hug and talked about their game plan.

"Let's win this shit."
