Perky Zoe Patel keeps things lively, but her rollercoaster romance with self-proclaimed ladies’ man J Huntington III is about to derail...again. Turns out J’s been hanging out on Cupid’s Corner, and Zoe’s not having it. Or is she? While she’s busy sneaking off with Johnny Zest, her high school ex, J’s too busy checking himself out in the mirror to notice. Drama, thy name is Zoe and J.

Meanwhile, over on the quieter side of the couch, easygoing Mitchell Kalani and brainy bookworm Gavin Richards are the true underdogs of this sitcom. They’ve been roommates for a couple months after Mitchell got invited to move in by Zoe after meeting him at The Tourist Trap Lounge, bonding over late-night grilled cheese and bad action flicks. But while Zoe and J provide the fireworks, these two are stuck in a slow-burn B-plot of unspoken feelings and awkward glances. Will they ever confess, or are they destined to remain each other’s favorite "just friends"?

the story to me is it's this young, college aged kid who just moved out of his parents. yet, his parents needed support and they moved in with him in his cramped little trailer. so now, his mom is down his neck about his household decorations. all he's trying to do is support his parents, get his degree, and also just be a normal college student.
