NND Week 2024 - Ruby Kept Floating Array

Hey peeps!

Sorry about the radio silence on the NND front. Ngl, I’ve been really struggling when it comes to drawing literally anything recently, and that unfortunately bled over into Nuts & Dolts Week despite my best efforts

I was really only able to complete this piece for the week, since the sketch for it stuck with me and was simple enough to complete. However, I’m adding the concept sketches I made because idk I liked ‘em for the most part - I just ran out of time to do them

I have no idea how to fix this rut I’m in, but I’ll figure it out :)

[Penny looked at herself in the mirror, wearing Ruby's Beacon uniform]

Ruby - Penny, what are you doing

Penny - I am borrowing your uniform so i can go to school

Ruby- But I need that

Penny - No you do not, you barely have to use it

Ruby - I do sometimes ….[mumbles] And you do look cute

Penny - I do INDEED [stands proudly] Sources say that girlfriends always share clothes

Ruby - That can't be ….wait. Am I your ….

Penny - Yes. Was this a question

[Ruby blushes]

Penny - Yang says that when you sleep, you whisper my name in your dreams.

Ruby - Fine….

Penny- GREAT ! [seizes Ruby's hand] Let us show our dominance over Pyrrha and Jaune for getting together before Jaune figured anything out ---- Writing Requests are OPEN

NND Week Prompt Revival - Childhood Friends

Hey peeps!

Ever since my let down on Nuts & Dolts Week 2024, I’ve been really wanting to make it up to everyone (and myself), so I figured I’d put together a list of Nuts & Dolts Week Prompts from years past, and I’d complete them at my own pace over time :D

I love these two after all, and sometimes I just need some spontaneous ship art to get me out of a rut, y’know?

The first contender for this revival is a prompt from 2021: Childhood Friends!!

It may not be canon, but I think Penny and Ruby would be SUUUUUCH cutie pies as 7 year olds. They’d be the type of kids who’d play in the woods and make fairy houses or flower jewelry, climb trees, eat honeysuckle; the whole nine yards.

As for how they’d meet? Idk Pietro made a prototype body and field tests revolve around going to a remote island in Vale and having her play with other kids. She can’t fight Grimm if she can’t withstand a day at the playground, right?

Hi all! I apologize for the delay in posting, I've had some major life stuff come up recently.

Semifinals for prompts are here! I'm giving two weeks for votes, then we'll move on to the finals! Prompt decision making is clarified in the doc but feel free to send an ask if you need clarification.

I've also received several asks about what days NNDWeek will be occuring on, so mark your calendars:

Ruby - [talking into her arm] This is Ruby over

Intercom - [ says quickly] I love you

Ruby - [giggles, rolling over on her back] I love you too

Yang - Penny, as sweet as this is, Ruby does need to go to bed

Intercom- Oh that is right ! Thank you for the reminder ^^

Ruby - Good night Penny ^^

Intercom - Good night Ruby ! I will have much to tell you in the morning !

[Penny signs off , and Ruby buries her face in a pillow]

Yang- You good sis ?

Ruby - Yeah ....

Yang - You seem to be taking....[looks at her prosthetic arm] THAT well

Ruby - Yang [sighs and runs her hands down her face]

Yang- Don't get mad, I just want to make sure you're coping in a healthy manner

Ruby - Look....I don't know how good im dealing with it but having Penny closeby [holds up arm] It helps make things feel less scary...

Yang - Yeah ?

Ruby - I always feel braver with Penny, even if she's not here with me in person . She's different from anyone I've met before ...she makes me feel different. Good different

Nora - Is she ok ?

Weiss - Yes ! But she has other Grimm to kill

Nora - [sighs] You know she deserves better than to be treated like a weapon

Weiss - Mind your own business

[Nora frowns and shakes her head as she leaves]

Blake - We can’t keep this up forever

Weiss - Pish posh. We lose nothing here

Yang - You’re making people hate you all over again

Weiss - I’d rather Ruby get her rest . I’ve been hated before

[Weiss sighs and rubs her hands down her face]

Weiss - I just hope this isn’t too hard on Penny

NND Week 2024 - Day 3: Tonkusatsu

For this installment of @nuts-and-dolts-week 2024, we have Ruby & Penny cosplaying as The Gammas from Dragon Ball Super (the 2 androids on the image below)

I wanted to have their faces exposed, so i couldn't use a PROPER Tonkusatsu outfit, hope this is a good alternative.

I can't believe i managed to finish this in time, but here we are. @nuts-and-dolts-week 2024 IS UPON US!

Today, we have Ruby & Penny wearing each other's outfits, but also trading hairstyles. This one was a lot of fun to draw, even if i couldn't do the best job with Penny... Whoops...

For this installment of @nuts-and-dolts-week 2024, we have Ruby & Penny hanging out in Beacon. I could've just made something cute, but i was in a bit of a Persona mood, so i decided to reference one of the Persona 3 Movies' posters (the image below).
