@hoshizorax said - he wondered if it was embarrassing if he had to ask what exactly valentine's day gifts consisted of with someone who wants his girlfriend. he had bought some flowers and a necklace as a gift for melody to express his love for her. as he stood in front of her with those things, there was a flush of color on his face. "mel-chan, i know we've been together for a while. i know i'm still a bit awkward at this.. but i hope you enjoy these.." (from kiryu)
“Babe,” she whined with a smile, moving to take the flowers and immediately burying her nose in them. She sighed happily at their scent, color rising to her cheeks. “You’re perfect at this,” she told him and she meant it. She loved him just the way he was, awkwardness and all.
They were a perfect match and even during their roughest patches, she was still happy. She wouldn’t trade their time together for anything in the world. “You didn’t have to get these for me,” but her blush said exactly how much she loved the flowers and necklace.
“Help me put it on?” and she turned, lifting her hair out of the way for him. “I didn’t get you anything,” she lamented, touching the necklace lightly. “But I made all your favorites for dinner.” She wished she’d done more.

@hoshizorax said - "I never thought I could love someone how I love you." (from Kiryu)
She was in the middle of making dinner when he spoke, his words startling her. They’d been having a normal conversation about their weekend plans and she blinked at him, color having settled into her cheeks. A smile settled onto her features, a smile that was both loving and shy.
“I didn’t know what love was before you,” but she’d thought she had. She thought she’d experienced love and heartbreak, but she hadn’t known what any of that was. He’d taught her all of it and despite how hard things had been sometimes, she wouldn’t change any of it.
“Love you more than a fat kid loves candy,” she teased. “Stop being sappy, you’re gonna make me burn dinner,” but her tone said she didn’t want him to stop at all as she snuck another look at him from beneath her lashes.

"i can be pretty.. complicated."

She gave the bingo card a very critical inspection, trying and failing to look serious. By the end of her "inspection" she's grinning like an idiot.
"Complicated? Nah... You're perfect to me babe."

@lcstxsculx said - ❝ what they don’t understand, they condemn. what they can’t comprehend must meet its end. ❞ (Jareth)
“Not all humans think that way,” but there were more than enough that his observation fit the vast majority; especially those in power. She frowned faintly, watching him for a moment. “If you feel that way… why bring me here?” She knew she was in the minority when it came to her way of thinking. She didn’t hate or distrust someone just because they were different, but surely that wasn’t why she found herself trapped in his world now. Right?
He couldn’t know how she felt about such things. Could he?
She was giving herself a headache, worrying over things that she couldn’t change or control.

@lcstxsculx said - ❛ you may be raw, but you have about you a purposeful savagery. ❜ (Jareth)
“A purposeful savagery?” She blinked, head tilting to the side slightly. Savage was not a word she would ever apply to herself and the more she thought about it, the higher her confusion climbed. One thing was clear, however, his words were meant as a compliment and her cheeks flushed with color in response.
She got the feeling that he didn’t give out meaningful compliments often, especially those devoid of a backhanded comment. A rare treat and her blush deepened as she bowed her head in thanks.
“Thank you… but I don’t know that I’ve ever done anything even remotely savage…” What had he seen that she hadn’t?

Name: Caio Age: Somewhere between 25 and 32 Do you like to cuddle?: Not particularly. I have nothing against it, though. Can we make-out?: I would advise against it... it'd be a little awkward, given that we're coworkers. A night in or dinner out?: A dinner out, I guess. Ice cream or chocolate covered strawberries?: Ice cream but... we can also have chocolate covered strawberries if you prefer that. I can get both. What makes you a good Valentine?: I'd probably not make a very good one. I'm not that interested in this holiday as a whole. Would you cook for me?: Sure. Would you let me cook for you?: You don't have to.

She looks over the application, blushing. "You advise against making out, but filled this out anyway?" She was teasing him and glanced up at the paper with a little smile. He confused her at the best of times, but there was no denying that she was flattered and interested.
"Hold on," and she quickly grabbed a blank piece of paper, pen flying across it and a few minutes later she held it out to him with a grin.
Name: Melody Age: 23 - 28 Do you like to cuddle?: Yes, but it's not required. I just enjoy being near my partner. Can we make-out?: Would it REALLY be that awkward since you filled out an application in the first place? Maybe we start with a regular kiss? A night in or dinner out?: I'm good with either! If we stay in, we can cook together. Ice cream or chocolate covered strawberries?: I like both so... both. What makes you a good Valentine?: I think the holiday is silly honestly. Corporate cash grab. I'd rather we do our own thing on our own time and not box ourselves in for the holiday. Soooo I guess I wouldn't be a very good one. Would you cook for me?: Of course! Would you let me cook for you?: If you wanted to, absolutely, but you don't have to.

@lcstxsculx said - “New Years Kiss” (Xavier Plympton)
She wasn’t big on parties, but had agreed to go to this one simply because Xavier had asked. Outside of him she didn’t know anyone else there, but she tried to mingle throughout the night. She didn’t want to be a party pooper nor did she think he’d appreciate her sticking to him the entire evening. However, when the countdown for midnight started she gravitated towards him, smiling with everyone and counting down loudly.
She turned to Xavier just as the clock struck midnight, yelling Happy New Year happily, but her words were cut short as he kissed her. She froze for a moment. It was a quick kiss, certainly nothing special by most standards, but it was to her and before she could stop herself she pulled him down for another, all while smiling against his lips.
“Happy New Year, Xavier.”

@codeb-b-b-breaker said - ❝ worlds on fire, lets toast the end. ❞
“The world isn’t on fire,” she laughed, sipping her beer. “Shit is just…kind of shitty right now, but it won’t always be like this.” At least, she hoped not.
Sighing, she shifted to lean against him, closing her eyes and simply enjoying the moment. “Can’t we toast to a better future?” She looked up at him, one of her arms wrapped around his.

@bloodyxballet said: "i want to complain anyway."
She looked up from her book, a smile curling her lips upward. “Well I’m not gonna even entertain this without some drinks and snacks,” she laughed, putting her book down and heading for the kitchen.
“I want every grimy detail. If you’re going to complain, paint me a picture so I can join in and have your back,” she grinned, aware that she was an absolute menace. However, what sort of friend would she be if she didn’t support him in even the silly little things like this?
He always had her back. Plus, if something was really upsetting him it would help to talk about it. She always felt better whenever he let her go off on a rant.
Beers and snacks in hand she returned to the living room, pulling him down onto the couch with her. She handed him a beer before opening her own, grinning. “Alright. Complain away!”

@razorfst said: "What am I supposed to do with this?"
She’d braided a few pieces of leather cord together into a simple bracelet, the light tan and black contrasting against one another beautifully. Why had she made the bracelet? She wasn’t entirely sure if she was being honest with herself. She was always on the hunt for new little hobbies to keep her hands busy when she couldn’t be baking. She’d given this a try, but why the hell had she made something for him? Better yet, why the hell had she given it to him?
I’m such an idiot.
She felt her cheeks heat up in embarrassment and a hand moved to rub the back of her neck. “Wear it,” she felt so ridiculous. “You don’t have to, obviously,” she said quickly, eyes going wide because of how her initial response had sounded.
“I uh… Was just trying out a new hobby and… thought you might like it,” she sighed. “Sorry…”

@razorfst said: i'm not good or bad. i'm just practical as hell.
“I know that,” she smiled, but it quickly fell away. “Unfortunately, the press just sees you as this giant stoic man and for whatever damn reason, being stoic is equated to being bad,” she rolled her eyes, a nearby magazine open to an article on him. It talked about all of his achievements, but then tried to paint him as some sort of monster for being so private.
It was ridiculous, but maybe it was more ridiculous that she cared since she was just a temporary member of his team? Once the games were over they’d part ways; she wasn’t looking forward to it.
For as stoic as he was, Andrei was a genuinely great guy. He was a teddy bear under that gruff grizzly exterior. Plus, she’d figured out that part of his reason for being so damn focused had a lot to do with his dad. His dad had some sort of hold on him that she didn’t understand, but it also wasn’t her place to worry about it.
She was just there to make sure he was fit to fight and to keep him going in the ring.
“People are stupid, don’t worry about it,” she smiled.

Continued from [X] @hoshizorax
“Sir!” She moved to help him despite the drastic differences in their heights. He had more than a foot on her and easily a hundred pounds, but she was stronger than she looked. Plus, determination went a long way when it came to stubborn patients. “You need to get back into bed, please,” she urged, trying to stop him from reaching the door.
The injuries he’d come to the hospital with were extensive and while they weren’t life threatening in their current state, they easily could be if he didn’t rest. The doctor wanted to keep him overnight to ensure there was no internal bleeding they’d missed on the scans they’d taken. If they had potentially missed something, no matter how small, and he simply left and returned to business as normal? It could spell disaster for him.
“The doctor wants to keep you overnight just to ensure everything is alright. You have some very serious internal bruising,” she reminded him.

@razorfst asked: " i'm fine, just. . . give me a minute. “
“This isn’t like you,” she pointed out, worry creasing her brow. Andrei was a powerhouse. She imagined that in ancient times he would have been thought of as a God or would have been a prized gladiator. She sometimes thought he was superhuman simply because he never seemed to stop.
She’d worked with a lot of athletes, but none had been this dedicated. He was in a league all of his own, but this wasn’t like him at all. He was off and refused to address it. Good thing she was there.
She leaned down to check his pupils, observing the flush in his skin carefully. “I think you’re sick,” she pointed out. “Let me run your vitals and we can do a vitamin drip?”

Anonymous asked: "We'd look good together any way." -- @codeb-b-b-breaker
She was distracted and hadn’t digested what he’d said, she simply hummed in acknowledgment, but a moment later his words clicked. “Huh?” Blinking in mild surprise she met his gaze, color rushing to her cheeks.
She almost hated how easily he could fluster her, almost.
“Think so?” and her voice was softer than she intended. She cleared her throat and studied him for a moment, cheeks still warm. “So… what’s stopping us from being a thing?” Once upon a time the blame could have been placed at her feet since she’d stubbornly refused to give him the time of day. Now? He’d effectively wormed his way into her heart and head; he was always on her mind.
She had it bad for him.
“Balls in your court,” she pointed out with a teasing smile.

Anonymous asked: [INTERRUPT] -- @codeb-b-b-breaker
Babbling was a special skill of hers. Any time she was excited or nervous, she talked too much. She was doing that now as she rambled on about how she was pretty sure he was breaking the surrounding nurses stations on purpose in an effort to simply annoy her as much as possible. “There’s no way that every single one of these is that fuc…” she blinked, lips suddenly covered by his.
Her mind went blank and when he pulled away all she could do was stare. No one was around given the obnoxiously late hour and the hospital ran with a smaller staff during the night, but she wasn’t even thinking about that. Hell, Melody wasn’t thinking at all.
DJ had just kissed her. She forgot what she’d been saying or why she’d been annoyed. Eventually her brain started working again and she frowned up at him, though her expression lacked any venom. “You’re an ass,” she muttered, huffing, but her eyes kept going back to his lips and she had to force herself to look away.
“Just… fix it? Please?” she asked lamely, motioning helplessly at the misbehaving computer.
