Often did the Commander of the armies of Anadûnê lead his men in Middle-earth. For a rare moment in time, he was at his home, the isle of the Men of the West, helping in the training of new recruits and the strengthening of already seasoned fighters.

Such a new recruit was before him now; his turn to test his skill against the Commander had come. Pharazôn had heard rumors about this man, named Sigurd, and often referred to as the bastard. This, the Númenórean did not much care about - only if he was good with a sword, and could prove himself against another.

Pharazôn brandished his long sword and gazed up at the sharp end of it before lowering, pointing it toward the other man. "When thou art ready, young man, strike at me," he instructed, feet firmly planted on the dirt underneath, but ready to pounce at a moment's notice.
