SEIRA  knew  what  being  at  the  brink  felt  like.  sacrificing  half  of  her  teenage  years  to  musical  theatre,  only  to  be  kicked  out  by  her  manager  after  she  was  unable  to  generate  profits.  afterward,  she  set  her  sights  on  the  world  of  kpop  -  seeing  the  idol  route  as  the  easy  route,  she  got  a  rude  awakening  when  she  auditioned  for  over  ten  agencies  in  korea,  and  ended  up  with  none  of  them  taking  her  in.  in  the  end,  it  was  arietis  who  picked  her  up,  adding  her  as  the  last  member  of  nuemuse.

seira  is  the  representative  of  euterpe,  and  her  symbol  is  the  double  flute.  her  solo  work is  often  theatrical  &  bombastic,  pulling  from  her  musical  theatre  roots.  they  often  feature  excellent  storytelling.  her  charm  point  is  her  powerful  voice  and  her  lyric  writing.

rather well-liked due to her "good leader" image. she was well-known as a sm trainee and people were rooting for her to debut after she left sm. often seen as the most hardworking nuemuse member, calli's reputation is very clean and family-friendly, having a 'girl next door' image.

IO

perhaps the most unpopular member of nuemuse, but not because of some shit reputation (that honour goes to love) but because people tend to not feel drawn towards her more introverted nature and tendency to stay behind the scenes. despite this, she is well-known in more niche spaces for her rock music/influences and producing skills. noah, infact, only grew more popular after leaving nuemuse and joining fiore. noah is also very popular within the japanese fandom.

LOVE

one of the members with the worst reputation, love has a reputation for being rude, lazy and overall a pain to work with. early in her career a makeup artist complained about an 'idol who cannot stop snapping [at me]' and people later sussed out it was miaoke. because she has a more 'headstrong' personality love has a polarising rep. some people think she is a girlboss and other think she's unprofessional. its a shame that love is a such a force to be reckoned with onstage.

SEIRA

another member with a clean reputation, she is sometimes such as a little 'out-of-touch' with the rest of society and can be seen as awkward at times due to her upbringing and background as a (failed) child star. however, seira is relatively drama-free and unbothered, especially towards the end of 2020, where she shifted to focusing more on professional singing instead of idol work.

MELIA

golden girl no. 1! people love her bc of her family background but also because she can actually SING. melia mostly keeps to herself and would end up like noah if not for her famous family. she does not invite any BAD ENERGY into her life and only speaks when she needs to <3 unproblematic.

NIA

golden girl no. 2! as a (successful) child star, jiheon is often seen as the nation's little sister and this extended into her career with nuemuse. having trained 24/7 for public appearances, jiheon is well put together, drama free and clean of any major scandals. girl is so scared of a scandal that there's a rumour going around that she never speaks to male idols unless she really has to.

SI-A

problematic no.2 LMAO. like love, si-a has a more outspoken personality that often lands her in hot water. she has more than one occassion been rude to seniors and that has made her public enemy no.1 - so in contrast to love, si-a is more 'publically' beefy whilst love is much more private about her drama LMAO. however she's nuemuse's ace so she's everywhere and getting deals and public tv appearances everywhere. some people see her as 'honest' and some people think she's unneccesarily confrontational lol.

THALIA

another clean rep idol. thalia loves music and she could not care about anything else, so she never finds herself at the scene of the crime. people joke that thalia never goes outside unless to perform or sing or busk and lowkey its true LMAO. she has zero friends and that's kinda a sad reputation but people find her tragic and lonely sooo it works in her favour?

YURA

problematic but none of it is her fault she's just happens to always be there when shit goes down that she gradually gets associated with the drama LMAO. male idol and female idol hanging out? yura is somehow spotted nearby at around the same time. an argument? yura literally just passed by two minutes ago. she cannot escape. also yura's constant side-eyeing of her brother has made the netizens INVESTIGATE and constantly people are blaming her for being weird despite the fact that she just wants to talk to her brother who REFUSES to even look in her direction.

WE'LL BECOME THE NEW MUSES! a fictional kpop girl group, written by eury! // DISCLAIMER, nuemuse's storyline deals with heavy topics such as verbal & mental abuse. ALL PIECES WILL BE TAGGED APPROPIATELY.

nuemuse  is  a  nine  five  member  girl  group  currently  under  pledis  entertainment.  they  were  managed  under  arietis  entertainment  before  the  company  declared  bankruptcy  in  2021  after  being  sued by the members.  the  group  was  then  brought  by  hybe  corporations  and  placed  under  pledis.

the  name  of  the  group  stands  for  "new  muse",  symbolising  how  the  nine  girls  will  become  so  famous  they  will  be  the  equivalent  of  the  nine  muses  of  olympus  and  the  face  of  music  in  the  kpop  world.  the  group  was  met  with  instant  success  after  their  debut,  taking  home  two  rookie  of  the  year  awards  in 2019.

despite  being  marketed  as  a  nine  piece,  arietis  called  nuemuse  a  “group  of  soloists  with  a  graduation  system”  -  indeed,  the  nine  members  carry  out  solo  promotions  throughout  the  year.  in  the  middle  and  end  of  each  year,  the  members  carry  out  an  event  called  muse  theatre,  where  they  perform  and  promote  a  group  song,  and  also  sing,  dance,  perform  plays,  and  generally  entertain  fans  for  two  weeks.  at  the  end  of  the  two  weeks,  a  girl  will  announce  her  graduation  from  the  group,  in  which  she  takes  down  her  symbol  from  the  company  walls  in  a  graduation  ceremony.  this  practice  was  done  in  both  2019  &  2020  until  they  were  brought  by  hybe,  with  three  girls  leaving  the  group  overall. in december 2021, yura announced her graduation from the group under pledis. nuemuse currently operates as a four-piece with thalia being on hiatus.

ACTIVITIES (DEBUT - 2021)

notes:

nia  graduated  in  the  winter  muse  theatre  of  2019,  at  the  end  of  the  promotions  for  mvsk.  she  gifted  fans  with  the  single  downpour  as  a  goodbye  gift.

io  graduated  in  the  summer  muse  theatre  of  2020,  after  promotions  of  rumour  ended.  she  produced  a  duet  with  fellow  japanese  member,  seira,  titled  starlight.  it  was  released  as  a  digital  single  after  muse  theatre.

si-a  graduated  in  the  winter  muse  theatre  of  2020,  after  the  ending  of  promotions  for  pantomime.  there,  she  announced  her  decision  to  join  the  rest  of  the  graduated  members  at  jyp  entertainment,  and  promised  fans  a  new  si-a.

a  few  hours  after  si-a's  graduation,  arietis  announced  that  calli  was  to  be  removed  from  the  group  for  unjust  and  unruly  behaviour.  calli  revealed  that  she  was  forced  to  sit  out  on  pantomime  promotions  for  no  reason  at  all,  and  later  sued  arietis  ent.  for  physical  abuse  and  coercion.  the  remaining  five  members  filed  a  similar  lawsuit  a  day  later  and  arietis  ended  their  exclusive  contract.  the  lawsuit  also  revealed  that  none  of  the  remaining  members  have  not  been  paid  for  the  past  year  due  to  arietis'  financial  decisions  and  the  lawsuit  was  a  long  time  coming  -  a  decision  made  together  by  all  the  girls.  the  company  finally  declared  bankruptcy  on  january  10th  and  the  lawsuit  was  settled  outside  of  court.

on  feburary  17th,  hybe  corporations  revealed  that  all  six  of  the  non-graduated  members  of  nuemuse  have  signed  an  exclusive  contract  with  them,  and  further  activities  would  be  managed  by  pledis  entertainment.  on  march  19th,  pledis  revealed  that  after  serious  conversation  with  the  group  members,  nuemuse  intends  to  stick  with  their  soloist  and  muse  theatre  concept,  but  leave  out  the  graduation  aspect.  on  april  1st,  seira  officially  released  the  first  solo  under  pledis,  and  nuemuse  as  a  group  officially  redebuted  in  july  of  2021.

the  three  graduated  members  of  nuemuse  (nia,  io  &  si-a)  went  on  to  redebut,  going  by  jiheon,  noah  &  nakyung  respectively.  they  debuted  with  newcomer  ye-seo  as  the  four  piece  band  fiore  under  jyp  subsidiary  studio  j  in  may  of  2021.
