Moving Day... (A NU’EST Fanfiction)

Writer’s Note: So I read somewhere that the Wanna One boys are moving into their dorms today. I don’t know how reliable that is, but either way that day will come, and Minhyun will be separated from his brothers... for a long time. But anyway, I wanted to inject some happiness into this devastated fandom that is L.O./\.E, so I do hope that this fanfic could cheer some of y’all up. 

Shampoo, check. Shaver, check. Skincare kit, check. Clothes, check. Books, check. Electronics, check. Toiletries, check. Nu’est albums, check. 

Minhyun was meticulously going through his packing list as he got ready for the move. To be honest, he was was still quite numb from the events of Friday night. It all happened in a blur, and he doesn’t remember much of the details. But, one thing was seared into his memory. And it still stung whenever he tried to ignore it. 

Produce 101 was over. And he was the only one to make it through.

Just the thought of it made him choke up again. So, he tried to occupy his mind by going through his list a 27th time. Everything was in place, everything was ready, except for his heart. He had barely moved into the solo room for couple of months and suddenly had to part with it. You see, in the Nu’est dorm there are 3 rooms, 2 of which were shared, and 1 was a solo room. The boys rotate the allocations every year just so that everyone could get a chance to stay in the solo room, and this year it was Minhyun’s turn. He still remembers the fateful day when he shifted all of his things to this room. He remembers the distinct joy and excitement of finally having the solo room again. He remembers how he rolled around in this bed. He remembers how he would spend late nights up writing lyrics for new songs. He remembers reading his favorite novels till the sun came up in this room. This room, no, this house was his sanctuary, and all of a sudden he had to part with it. A room, a house that once brought him joy, was now a room, a house that brought him sorrow. 

Swallowing his tears, he curled up onto the mattress, that was now stripped of it’s sheets, and he tried to rationalize his emotions.

“It’s okay... it’s okay, it’s only 18 months... it’s only 18 months,” he repeated under his breath. But a single tear escaped from his fox-like eyes.

Truthfully, he didn’t want it to end up like this. He didn’t want to leave his members. He didn’t want to be the only one who made it. He didn’t want to be all alone.

At this point you must be wondering, where are the other members? Well, they were all home, but Minhyun has been so depressed for the past 2 days that they determined that it was better to leave him alone. After Friday night, Minhyun has locked himself in his room the entire time, only occasionally coming out for food, water and the bathroom. Otherwise, he was always alone, inside his beloved solo room. They wanted to say something, but, they didn’t know what to say. So they decided, silence was the best option.

Minhyun knew that his behavior was making the members uncomfortable. But, he too didn’t know how to face them. He didn’t what to say. So he also decided that silence was the best option. But that silence was deafening. 

Minhyun spiraled deeper and deeper into his thoughts, but suddenly there was a rough knocking on the door.

“Yah! Hwang Minhyun! Come out!” It was Dongho.

Minhyun moaned an inaudible reply, and continued to mope on the mattress.

“Oh boy... I’m coming in,” Dongho warned. Dongho roughly opened the door and swiftly lifted Minhyun over his shoulder. “Going up. Okay, come out now Mopey Minhyun, we ain’t got all day.”

“Dongho, put me down, I’m not in the mood for games,” Minhyun groaned as he tried to pry himself off Dongho.

“Yea, in this state you never will be. Now, we are going out to the living room,” Dongho declared as trudged out with determination.

“Dongho! Put me down, I don’t want to go,” Minhyun struggled, but Dongho was far to strong for him.

“Shush young grasshopper, you will thank me in a bit” Dongho replied mysteriously as he tightened his grip on Minhyun’s thighs.

Minhyun gave up the struggle and just allowed himself to be carried off like a rag doll. He didn’t have the energy to fight. 

When they finally got to the living room, all the lights were off. Dongho nimbly put down Minhyun and said “Here we go, ready guys.”

In a flash the lights came on and poppers blew up in Minhyun’s face.

“WOOOHOOOOOO!” Jonghyun, Minki and Aron cheered while holding onto the poppers.

Minhyun was stunned. He stared on flabbergasted at the scene before him. Laid out on the table was a lavish spread of his favorite foods and a giant cake in the middle. On the cake, in crude icing it read “Happy Moving Out Day Minhyun!”. Tears welled up in his eyes, and he covered his eyes trying to hide them.

“Awwww, our Minhyun is crying,” Aron teased, as he proceeded to pick up a piece of fried chicken to give to Minhyun.

“Minhyun don’t cry, you’ve cried for 2 days already, don’t think we don’t know,” Minki said as he tickled Minhyun’s side trying to make him laugh.

“Minhyun ah, we know that you don’t want to leave us, but we can’t let your last day be one filled with sorrow. Besides, it’s a happy day, I finally get my own room again!” Dongho cheered, as he joined Minki in tickling him.

Minhyun let out a little laugh through his tears, and opened his mouth to welcome the fried chicken that Aron had brought over. Finally, the tears escaped from his eyes, but this time, it wasn’t tears of guilt, nor sorrow, it was tears of joy. He dearly missed the warmth of his members, and this moment made him feel all warm and fuzzy inside, in the best way possible.

Jonghyun approached him, and placed a reassuring arm over his shoulder. He said (in his typical leader way), “Minhyun ah, stop blaming yourself. You deserve this spot, and because of that you can’t let us, nor the fans down. You are an amazing person, possibly the best one out of all of us to be up there. So, go out there and blow them away. And if you ever get lonely, or tired, just know that we won’t be changing the passcode.”

At those words Minhyun choked up a little and engulfed Jonghyun in a hug.

“Thank you, I love you so so much,” he whimpered as he chewed on the fried chicken.

“Hey, don’t leave me out of this,” Minki protested as he wrapped his arms around the two.

“Me too, me too!” Dongho joined in.

“You people, when did you guys get so close without me,” Aron teased as he too joined in the group hug. 

For a good 2 minutes the 5 boys just stood there, hugging each other. No one said anything, because silence was the best option. There are certain things that need not be said, and among them 5 that list is as long as the River Nile. They didn’t need to say it, but there was such an overwhelming amount of love between all of them that it would put even the most loving of couples to shame. They were more than just co-workers, they were more than just members, they were brothers, they were family.

“Urgh, it’s getting stuffy. Come on guys let’s eat before manager-hyung comes up to take our Minhyun away,” Jonghyun declared as he split up the boys.

“Yeap, yeap let’s eat!” Dongho chimed in excited.

Minhyun nodded his head ever so slightly and sat down at the table ready to eat. But, before he could even pick up his chopsticks he felt a strong force push his head down, straight into the cake.

“HAHAHAHHA! You didn’t think that cake was meant for eating did you?” Aron teased as he and Minki hugged their stomachs as they began cackling. 

Jonghyun and Dongho too began laughing, as Minhyun lifted his head out of the cake in slow motion. What more could he have expected from these dorks. But then again, this is why he loves them. He wiped the cream off his face and flung it at Aron. Unfortunately he missed, but by now he was grabbing pieces of cake and launching it at each of his members. All the while, Minhyun was smiling and laughing. He hadn’t felt this happy in a while, and to him this moment was golden. Upon reflection, 18 months didn’t seem that long. Besides, as Jonghyun said, if he ever needed emotional support, the door would always be open.

He apoyado a los chicos desde 2012 y seguiré haciéndolo, aunque ahora siento una profunda tristeza por su separación. Es como un hueco que está abarcando mi corazón, pero asimismo sé que no significa el final. Espero de todo corazón que los chicos puedan seguir creciendo y fortaleciéndose como personas y como profesionales.

Cómo L.O.V.E me siento orgullosa de haberlos acompañado como grupo hasta este punto; agradezco a los integrantes de NU'EST por todos los momentos que han compartido con nosotros y deseo lo mejor a cada uno.

After the news of NU'EST's split I want to share this post with my sincere feelings, hoping that someone else agrees and that it will continue to be shared so that L.O.V.E can express themselves as well.

I have supported the guys since 2012 and will continue to do so, although I now feel a deep sadness for their separation. It is like a hole that is encompassing my heart, but likewise I know that it does not mean the end. It is my heartfelt hope that the boys will continue to grow and grow stronger as individuals and as professionals.

As L.O.V.E. I am proud to have accompanied them as a group to this point; I thank the members of NU'EST for all the moments they have shared with us and I wish the best to each one of them.

 As the two of you are natural leaders, you would constantly learn from each others experiences and leading methods. But at the same time you would have on each other a time to be taken care of, instead of taking care of others, you would rely on him when you need, and him on you when he needs, creating the perfect balance for both. He would know you so well so he would know exactly when it’s time to give you a little space or when it’s time to just hug you infinetely until you start talking what’s bothering you “I’m not letting you go. Now tell me what’s wrong” And after you tell him any insecurties you had he would cup your face in his hands and stare right into your soul with the most lovely eyes “Do you trust me at all?” “Of course I do” “Then believe what I say, you are the most amazing person in this world.” You both would cringe a bit but it would make you feel better anyways because he really did believe in that and wanted you to feel as good as possible because is how you make him feel everytime you take care of him. He would always thank you for being with him at the end of a date and talking about dates he would be the best at planning dates, amusement park dates, beach dates, movie dates, homemade dinner+cuddles dates. He would like to hold his hand whenever and wherever you are, also kissing it from time to time. Even though you took the first steps slowly I feel it wouldn’t take long until the marriage, you both were so sure about each other, it didn’t make much sense to wait anymore, you already felt like a family. Best husband ever. Would bring you flowers at least every week, would love your family and they would love him back because how not to. And after a few years, while your baby daughter was sleeping in the night, the two of you would sit in the yard, looking at the stars, he would drink something else but would make coffee just for you, and hold your hand, and after a while talking, about his music, about planning visiting your family again, about his day in general, he would thank you once again for the perfect life he was living by your side.

He would be VERY excited about your dates, or every moment you spend together, because he knows it’s gonna be good, and fun. Whenever you two are walking side by side he would keep looking at you and trip and embarass himself but it’s okay, you two would laugh and have ice cream after “Stop saying I’m creepy! I was just appreciating life, enjoying beautiful views” He would try to defend himself, his face getting warmer each second, you could actually feel the heat when you planted a kiss on his cheek, which made his face burn even more. He would admire so much the way you can take care of things in genereal, he would try to learn that from you to surprise you with a really good date or trip, planned all by himself, and would feel very proud everytime you compliment him on something because your opinion matters the most to him. Would love to hug and kiss you but be too embarassed to iniciate or ask for it, so if you don’t iniciate he would try to make little bets like really silly one “Let’s play rock, paper, scissors, if I win you kiss me” of course he didn’t had to ask but his effort is just so cute you can’t help but play along. He would be very scared of terror movies but would watch it with you, he would try to make jokes during the movie to be less scared but wouldn’t work too well, so he would hold you really close and tight until it ends. “Now can we watch something from Disney? I’m not sleeping after that!” And for the next days he would be scared of literally any noise but would be offended if you thought about watching movies with someone else instead. He wouls also just love to share earphones while listening to your favorite songs and just enjoying each others presence.

I’m 5'7", have a long black hair, dark eyes, fair skin, oval face & chubby cheeks. I’m the eldest of four, making me reliable & a good leader. I’m supportive (#1 fan🤣), very caring, trustworthy, affectionate, kind and strong both physically & mentally. I get competitive & fearless sometimes. I’m a good listener so as a good adviser. I’m not the type to open my worries to others fast and likely to say it’s fine. In fact, I just need someone who will face me and tell me to be honest with them. I work hard, play hard! I do things fast, walk fast, work fast, speak fast but I always think through it before act. I have so much love to share with everyone, especially my family & people I care. Wanna One:Jisung

Jisung best fits you because he is the eldest member of the group so he knows the feeling of that. He is such an amazing leader and so reliable hence why the dongsaengs consider him a good hyung because he was always there for them and encouraging them whenever they were sad.He is so supportive of others and so caring, trustworthy,  very affectionate, kind. I don’t think Jisung is competitive but he would cheer you on if you on in competitions.He is aswell a good listener and a good adviser. I think if Jisung sees that there is something wrong or if you are hiding he will constantly ask what's wrong because he wants to be able to help you with whatever is going on. He admires how you work hard because he does work hard but it takes time for him to reach perfection. He is a people’s person so that means he loves having others happy mainly friends and loved ones. Jisung will love that for sure that you are so positive with others. He is quite sensitive also so he gets you completely there. In a relationship I don’t think Jisung would rush into anything, I think he would just be himself and just hope you love him for how he is. If he is in love with you, he would do anything for you, he would have your back through everything and anything. Jisung is sooo good with kids, I mean have you seen him in The Return Of Superman? He would make such a good father. I don’t know if he can cook but if he can’t he would love to learn. Your personality and his are similar because he is funny, friendly, so warm, encouraging. He always wants the best for others especially his friends and family. He loves animals and flowers. I don’t know really about coffee. He is affectionate so that means he enjoys skinship, cuddling especially movie nights. Watching a horror with this guy is basically him holding you to death because he is scared. He would enjoy amusement park & adventurous things also. Star gazing would be so calming and a time well spent so he would like that. Maybe on your walk where the street isn't so busy you both would go on a hill just to lay down and admire the star filled sky. He loves music and especially singing but he is traumatized to sing alone but like he sings soooo angelic. I don’t think he is a perfectionist but he expects the best in people. I think is also bad at directions so it will be an adventure to arrive at your destination lml. He has an older sister so I would hope he has her back and vice versa.He always has a smile always on his face, he also hopes everyone can smile as well. He is the type to be firm with his words and action, he would never break his promises and he wouldn’t lie at all. His’ heart is so pure that it will just hurt him more than it would hurt you that he inflicted pain to you. He is family-oriented so you don’t have to worry about that. He would hope your family loves him and his extraness.

NU’EST: Jr

Jonghyun is the leader of NU’EST and he is a freaking good leader. He is so supportive especially about the members and loved ones. He is friendly and he is always has open arms for those who need him. He is very trustworthy, affectionate, so kind and strong both physically & mentally as well. He is is almost exactly in some ways. He is competitive and fearless. He is a good listen and adviser. Jonghyun wouldn’t be satisfied with an “ i’m fine” he knows that is a simple excuse to try and distract him.He would be very persistent to know what's wrong. He works hard also but wouldn’t recommend to it all fast because fast doesn’t always mean everything is perfect how it needs to be. He always thinks what he will he do before acting upon. He loves those who are important to him like He cares for his members, makes sure everyone has everything they need. As the leader that he is  he has to worry about not only his parts but also the whole group and how they are (regarding health and safety not only practice. Jonghyun never been in love so if he fell for you he would like to take things slow also because he wants to live well with a loved one. He will treat you as the way you should be treated with much respect and love. He will be there for you as you should be there for him. I have a feeling that Jonghyun is good with kids, he is just a happy person with a big heart.  Good thing you know how to cook because you would fill Jonghyun’s ideal of someone who is strong on the outside but tender on the inside. Also knows how to cook. Jonghyun always liked the simple things; he is indeed really funny and outgoing. He's always smiling and bringing up the mood. He shows his happiness in his eyes. He is  good with words and always wants to be there for my friends also. I don’t know if he likes coffee but I think he does. He loves animals, I mean who doesn’t? I would hope he loves kids as much as you because he has such a good personality for a father. He is very charismatic as the others members have said he has a  powerful charisma. He would love to skinship especially cuddling. He loves watching movies, horror movie will keep him on his toes but he would act like he isn't scared. He would love going to the amusement park with you and do adventurous things.Star gazing with this guy would be so cute like you guys would have deep talks while watching the stars. Going on a walk with JR would be hand holding and pure happiness.He is romantic and thinks that is what attracts women; Music is his life like literally. You are in luck because this guy hows to play piano, flute, clarinet, saxophone, tuba, drums and trombone. Like you JR is a perfectionist, so when he makes a mistake, he began to do (work) from the beginning again;He isn't someone to give up at the fourth try, he goes on until he can make it perfect and that shows just how hardworking he is. You will see him struggling, but he'll work 24/7 to be the best he can and show everyone his skills. I think Jonghyun is good with directions so you won't be lost but if he is bad, it would be a funny adventure. He is always smiling like he shows he is happy by his smile. Jonghyun is for sure firm with his actions and words. He isn’t flimsy at all.He is for sure  one who keeps his promise and wouldn’t  lie because he knows you trust him and only him with all your heart. I think he would adjust to change quickly.He in a relationship would give you reassurance he is it forever and would only love you and only you.Jonghyun calls his parents whenever he has a problem so thats a sign that he is family orientated.

I got so overwhelmed during NU'EST's comeback that I just couldn't find the time to update this blog. I'm so sorry everyone! What I may do is put things on a queue to gradually catch up on here ☺️ hope that's okay.
