JR was trying to be a sweetheart even if the food was burnt. He appreciated your effort of cooking for him, even if it didn't go as well as you wanted. He thought it was simply precious of you to do something for him. He gave you a sweet assuring smile.

"Ah... This is... delicious! You're a good cook jagi. Thank you."

Aron looked at the burnt food in front of him in disbelief. He then looked up at you, shaking his head and chuckled playfully.

"Did you let the food stay in there for days? Aish, next time I'll help."

Baekho

Baekho looked at the burnt food all stressed. He already was stressed when you decided to cook something in the first place, but now he was even more stressed as he saw the burnt food. But, he also couldn't deny his hunger and simply smiled at you for bringing him food.

"Ahh. I'm so hungry. Thank you jagi. Even if it's burnt I will eat your food! But next time I’ll help, ok?"

Minhyun stared at the food blankly. He blinked a few times, not knowing what to say. But he knew he shouldn’t tease, as he wasn't the best cook himself. He then looked at you, smiling awkwardly.

"Yum... this looks... good! Haha, did you want this to be extra crispy or what? Haha..."

Ren

When Ren saw the burnt food, he gasped dramatically. Jokingly he crossed his arms, shaking his head as you pouted. He was ready to tease you.

"Wow. Didn't you say you were a good cook. *shaking his head* You're about as good as me. ... Ok maybe a little better, but still!"

Family Reunion (A NU’EST OT5 Fanfiction + a dash of Wanna One)

 a/n: Oh god I promised myself not to write any Fanfiction until my exams were over, but I can’t help it with all these OT5 pictures emerging from BOF. FYI, they are both performing today (along with my beloved ahjussi’s Sechskies, who are the closing act for the night, can’t wait to see a yellow ocean). Anyway, hope y’all enjoy!

“This week’s first place winner is ...... NU’EST W! Congratulations!” 

Those words remain a vivid memory in Minhyun’s mind. That day, he remembers, he was sitting in the living room of the Wanna One dorm anxiously staring at the TV. The whole Wanna One had gathered there, in part to watch the girl groups performing on MCountdown, and JBJ and Rainz, but most importantly to watch NU’EST W. When those words were uttered from the host’s lips, there was a moment of stunned silence, but that was soon broken by ugly sobs from Jisung. Minhyun was in shock as Jisung engulfed him in a hug, and the rest of Wanna One began cheering and hugging each other as if their favorite team had won the World Cup. Everyone began patting Minhyun’s back or ruffling his hair, unconsciously tears began to flow down his cheeks, and he buried his face in Jisung’s shoulder. They won, they won, they really won.

When NU’EST W bagged their second win at Music Bank the next day, a new set of waterworks was unleashed by Jisung, but this time Minhyun merely looked at the screen with immense pride. His brothers did it. 

And today was the day he was going to meet them again. 

Minhyun knew that NU’EST W was performing at BOF, but he only just found out that they were performing on the same day. He was simultaneously excited yet nervous. This whole experience has been so surreal. NU’EST W’s popularity, their success -- but he wasn’t with them. Something felt awkward. 

But he didn’t have time for that -- or more like time wouldn’t let him brood for long. The intense schedules, commercial filming, photo shoots and comeback preparations have pushed Minhyun too his limit. He was always in one of two states: awake or asleep. So when the Wanna One rehearsal was over he immediately slumped into the sofa of the waiting room to catch some sleep. “Maybe I’ll visit the boys later...” he thought as he eyelids began to close. 

But nope, time wasn’t going to let go of our little fox now.

“Ja ja ja, guys wake up, this is the set list for today, make sure you familiarise yourselves with it,” Wanna One’s manager commanded as he handed out the set list to every member.

With a slight groan, Minhyun forced his body upright and he took the paper from his manager. He gave it a quick scan, but his eyes shot open when he saw it.

“Hyung! We are performing after NU’EST W?!” he exclaimed as he stared on wide-eyed as his manager. 

“Oh, i guess so,” his manager replied cheekily as he shot Minhyun a wink.

What did this all mean? Did the organizers intentionally create the set list like this? Or was it just a coincidence? Did the manager or management pull some strings? Or did everything just... work out? 

Minhyun wanted answers, but once again fatigue overwhelmed his consciousness and he began slipping into slumber again. 

But nope, Wanna One was not letting that happen. 

“Hyung wake up we need to go! Now isn’t the time to be sleeping!” Daehwi shook the poor little fox awake.

“Where do we need to go?” Minhyun groaned as he shoved Daehwi’s arms off.

“Honestly, we thought you would be more excited than that. I mean if you don’t wanna come it’s fine, we can go visit them ourselves,” Seongwoo teased.

“If you guys are gonna look for Blackpink go ahead without me, I’d rather get some sleep,” Minhyun replied while burying his face into the couch.

“Well we aren’t really looking for Blackpink, but certainly someone that can set his fan’s hearts on fire,” Sungwoon joined in the teasing.

“Do whatever you all want, I want to sleep,” Minhyun complained as he got ready to enter dreamland.

“Suit yourself,” Daniel shrugged. “Hey don’t forget the cake!”

“Do you think Dongho-hyung will like this? I mean there is so much cream,” Guanlin’s voice trailed off as he headed to the door.

Dongho. That was the word that got Minhyun’s attention. Immediately he shot up and he interrogated his members, “Who are you all visiting?”

“NU’EST W, NU’EST W, oh my goodness these boys really love to beat around the bush,” Mama Jisung replied as he got Minhyun up from the couch. “Do you want to come along?”

There were no words needed, Minhyun tidied up his hair, and led the way in search of NU’EST W’s waiting room. 

It was unexpectedly easy to find, literally just a turn from the Wanna One waiting room. But when they arrived Minhyun froze. He hadn’t thought this through -- what was he going to do when he meets them? 

“Oh my goodness, hyung stop stalling,” Jihoon complained as he turned the handle for Minhyun and Wanna One barged into the waiting room.

Oblivious to the stares the boys began singing the “Congratulations” song and even danced around with the cake. All the while Minhyun lingered at the back, as shocked as the NU’EST W members who were in the midst of changing out of their sweaty rehearsal clothes. 

“NU’EST W sunbeanim~ Congratulations on winning first place, we are huge fans~~~” Seongwoo congratulated flirtatiously as he handed the cake over to JR who was holding onto a mini Wartortle fan.

“Th... thanks...” JR replied evidently shocked by the rambunctious bunch as he took the cake and handed it over to Aron who was sitting on their couch.

“Looking good Dongho-hyung,” Guanlin teased as a half-naked Baekho scrambled to get a shirt on.

Wanna One couldn’t sit still for long, and the boys began happily chatting with the NU’EST boys. But all the while, Minhyun was still awkwardly standing by the door. Everything felt so surreal.

“... yea Minhyun-hyung cried like a baby when you guys won,” Guanlin tattled to Baekho, which prompted the latter to peer over at the shell-shocked Minhyun. 

Noticing his discomfort Baekho quickly chased off Guanlin (who went to talk to JR), and approached the terrified fox.

“Hey bro, you okay?” Baekho punched Minhyun’s arm playfully.

“Yea... yea...” Minhyun replied while avoiding eye contact.

“Guanlin said you cried like a baby when we won on MCountdown.”

“Well... i did but maybe not to that extent. By the way, congratulations, you see i told you the song was good.”

“Hahaha thanks, Bumzu-hyung helped me a lot... is that all you have to say?”

“I mean what more do you want me to *chokes*,” Minhyun cut off half way by the tears that began escaping. 

“I knew I could crack you,” Baekho chuckled as he embraced the whimpering Minhyun. 

“Guys come over, he needs some love,” Baekho called out to the rest of NU’EST W. Without a word the remaining three members broke away from their conversations and latched onto Baekmin, forming a giant group hug. The boys laughed at the sobbing Minhyun and began teasing him for always crying when they meet. Minhyun tried to retort, only to launch into a fresh set of tears.

“Aigoo our baby fox is crying, stop crying Minhyunnie~” Aron comforted.

“If you keep crying your eyes will be swollen on stage,” Ren chided playfully.

“C’mon man stop crying,” JR coaxed.

“We’ll win many more once you come back,” Baekho winked as he tightened his hug.

“I’m just... I’m just so proud of you all. I’m so happy, I am so so happy. Our LOVEs have worked so hard, and I feel so bad for not being able to be there. But they are such amazing fans, and the album is beautiful, and y’all look so good. It’s been 5 years, and you guys are my family. I love you all so much. I’m so happy you all won. I’m so so happy,” Minhyun was incoherent between his sobs but NU’EST W knew what he was trying to say.

The 4 simultaneously tightened their hug and leader JR remarked, “We will always be family and we will always wait for you. So do your best out there, and return to us stronger in 2019. We are waiting for you Minhyunnie.” 

How could Minhyun not cry harder after hearing that. He missed his family, he missed NU’EST, he missed his LOVEs, he missed his home -- but even if this moment was fleeting he found comfort in his brothers’ embrace. 

It might have been temporary but it was their family reunion. 

Meanwhile, Wanna One began awkwardly slinking out of the room to give the NU’EST members some privacy. All the while they incredibly jealous at their unbreakable brotherhood.

Last movie: I want to eat your pancreas. ( Even though, the anime plot was obvious however it managed to stimulate my emotions down the road. Bittersweet ending that teaches you about the importance of communication and to enjoy your life to the fullest.)

Last show: Accurately Attack on Titan. ( However, I was re-watching some retro animes at the same time called "Grander Musashi" [Fish show] and " Chousoko Spinners" [About Yo-yo]. The shows ridiculously go into an intense training arc and tournament like how you would see in Shounen anime nowadays. Despite all of that, a part of my childhood does enjoy these old paced shows that hold a special place in my heart. Bear with me! )

Last thing I googled: Grander Musashi in Arabic. ( Yeah, I know I'm a dork. I actually watched the series in Arabic and wanted to binge-watched my retro animes from its original dub (Japanese). Also, I research it in Japanese in case if any of you wanted to watch the retro series that I mentioned.

Following: I just daily reblog whatever I watch on TV and usually on Yu Yu Hakusho tags, always eager for any new content, news or merchandise. 

Why I chose this URL: The origin of my username was founded in my freshmen days in high school. Long story short, I was praying to God that I would survive the three-episodes shot of each anime series that I was watching in each season, hoping it would be a great show that I will learn something out of it. This is why I call myself "Anime Please Good." :) Don't ask for more, I was a weird teen who preferred spending the day at home. The irony, now I wish the opposite.

Other blogs: Well, maybe I will create a new one if I finally publish the story that I was working on for quite a while. Hopefully, I regain my motivation and stop my procrastination.

Average hours of sleep: Ideally 5-7 hours but the lockdown is messing around my sleeping routine.

Lucky number: 7 ( I love Nana so much, would totally recommend it for people who love a slice of life/romantic stories and teaches a lot of life notions) I'm so blinded by the show that I almost forgot that this number brings bad luck. And no, I'm not a masochist!

Instruments: Piano. I haven't played it for a while. I do enjoy the classical soundtrack to calm my mood and help me to script.

What I’m wearing: A pair of camouflage buttoned t-shirt and pants Pj set and hairclip for my Rapunzel's hair. My whole family is insisting on me getting a new haircut. Sadly, I'm stubborn as a mule and fonded by my long hair aesthetic.

Dream trip: Literally visiting Japan, since I'm progressively learning the language.

Favorite foods: Boiled stuffed grape leaves (which I had today for lunch) as a meal and cheesecake as dessert.

Fandoms and Thoughts on Defamation

I'm pretty sure we are all in some kind of fandom at some point of our life. But first, the definition. Fandom is a term of "the state of being a fan of someone or something, especially a very enthusiastic one" (Cambridge Dictionary, 2022).

I won't say that I am a hardcore fan for anything but I am a fan of gaming, and music, and a fan and for some non existence fictional characters.

I like playing quite a few games but the best for me would be Valorant (although that game tilted me almost everytime and I just lost 2 games before writing this). The Valorant community can be considered big since it is one of the mainstream games currently. This game has made me fans of some streamers on Twitch (I love Kyedae and TenZ, they're so cuteee) and also professional competitive Valorant teams (Paper Rex!!!).

Apparently, my Spotify 2022 Wrapped shows that BLACKPINK is the most listened artist for me this year with 6353 minutes. Hmmm... Well, it's true. I'm a a proud BLINK! I LOVEE "How You Like That", "Shut Down" and "Pink Venom". Their songs just makes me high.

One of the many fictional characters (because why fan for one when you can fan for more characters HAHA) that I am in love with (not literally) is Bruce Wayne, a.k.a. Batman (he's just too cool 😭). I do not want to continue babbling about this so let's just move on to the next part.

There's always something that we like and also dislike. Some of us like to keep it to ourselves, some of us like to voice them out. Same thing goes to fans and some fans may take things to the next level on social media, to defame the opponents or vice versa, and it is scary, particularly in the K-Pop industry. Defending is a different thing but defaming is real bad.

I've come across YouTube shorts that has an opening or caption, that I personally think that is trying to bring down a group or idol's reputation, such as "Kpop Idols THAT ARE "CRINGE"" or "these are the worst kpop songs of 2022" and these titles are often misleading because sometimes the content has nothing to do with the title. Another example is sexual assaults claims on the Internet. Yes, I know, some of them are true, but there are also a number of innocent people that are accused of doing so. For example, in 2017, a member of NU'EST W was accused of sexually a person in the community back in 2009 by exposing him in an online community but was later then proven innocent through investigation (Lim, 2018). If accusing someone for something that was not done, was it done for attention? Maybe? We never know.

Conclusion, we all have our own likes and dislikes, but if you dislike something, maybe keeping it to yourself would be better in this case. We all are part of different fandoms, let's respect all fandoms and make the world a better place for any fans regardless of their fandoms ♡

On a serious note, NU'EST has been one of the most severe and unadressed cases of oversexualization of minors in kpop, i've probably ever seen seen. At the time of debut them all of the members apart from aron who was eighteen, were just sixteen years old. Being the male group with the youngest ever kpop idol members to debut, at the time. Sexual remarks about the members and pedophilic landscape plagued the international fandom early on and was for the most part not condamned or even adressed. Also often accompanied with transphobia and homophobia towards the youngest member Ren who was specifically targated because of his feminine appearance. As evidence, blogs like d*rtykpopconfessions or even d*rtynuestconfessions.tumblr.com were openly accepting anonymous, user generated, explicit submissions about the underage members. Fans would even attempt to get their otp fanart to the members themselves, or pester them with uncomfortable questions such as "Do you read fanfictions?", "Do you watch p*rn?" International fans would be writing rated 18+ fan fiction about the underage members that were around the ages sixteen to eighteen. Often people would not even make the effort to "Age Up" the characters, purposely making the main focus of the stories the fact that they are sixteen or in highschool. This includes multiple of their past interviews with journalists that were obviously trying to appeal to the "crowd" by making them answer trick questions such as "Which member would you date?", "Which two members are the closest?" Such questions were given to them mostly by Japanese magazines. One even including a panel about how many times xx member touched yy members hand or the amount of times xx looked at yy. I'd like to add that nu'est had also expierienced borderline sexual harrasment from their own fans later years of their career, after turning of age. Like accounts of the staff members durning their Japanese promotions letting fans buy tickets to line up and take pictures with and touch the members how they pleased often inappropriately as a part of a live "fan service event". Or fans saying sexual remarks about Baekho infront of him or directly to him durning their Latin America tour. I'm warning some of the newer nu'est stans that want to look up to "old" loves, because some people that were once supportive of such pedophillic content are still the fandom today. Just a heads up.

😂 Fanfic update (please answer the TLDR at the end!)

I haven't had a fanfic update in literally 3 years, but here we go! For my new followers, I used to write Nu'est fanfics back in the day and every time I posted a new story, chapter, or anything, I would post a "fanfic update" on this Tumblr to let everyone know which story was being updated. I have since retired from writing (it's been 3 years now!) and haven't had a fanfic update since then. Well yesterday I got an email from my asianfanfics account.... Because Nu'est has gotten popular, people are reading my stories again, subscribing to my account, and commenting for more!! 😂 I was seriously one of 6 accounts that pretty much only posted Nu'est stories back during the debut era so now people want more from us. I messaged one of my friends and she's been receiving more Nu'est requests as well. It's crazy! TLDR; so my question is, should I start writing Nu'est fan fiction again? I probably won't finish the ones I left open, since my writing style has changed. So what would you want me to write?

JR simply surprised you with your favorite candy and some cute roses. He didn’t see a big reason to do anything else, as he knew you knew he loved you. But still in the end of the day, spending time with him was the best gift.

Aron didn’t think you’d want anything too fancy for Valentine’s Day. So he cooked your favorite meal and made a table for two in his place. Noah and KKotsooni would also join your romantic dinner.

Baekho but all in. He bought flowers, a teddy holding a heart that said “I love you” and he also made a five star course meal for the two of you. All for you. He loves you so much and wants you to know it. And maybe he also has something else planned for you ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)

“Happy Valentine’s Day babe! These flowers are for you! ... Yes I made this meal, and desert, just for you... yes I got you this teddy, but isn’t he cute? And I also have something else for you if you want... .”

This awkward bean had planned the Valentine’s Day for weeks. He wanted it to be perfect for you. So he asked for help from Aron for the cooking and Baekho for other gifts. In the end of the day, he had a whole meal ready for you (mostly done by Aron) and few cute gifts like flowers and a teddy holding a heart.

“Happy Valentine’s Day, my love! Uhh... Yes, I made all of this myself... and chose this teddy for you as well.. I love you!”

Ren went all for Valentine’s Day, but in his own way. He first sung a beautiful love song for you and then dramatically gave you his hand and guided you to your favorite ramen restaurant. He told you to order whatever you wanted. He payed for the two of you. You spend the whole day with him.

“Eat well! I have put a lot of thought into this day! I love you.”

Writer’s Note:

Just a little imagined scenario at the Produce 101 Concert that happened over the weekends.

“Oh wow, I didn’t expect so many people to be following me,” Aron stuttered as he toddled into the concert hall. 

Upon invitation of his brothers (though it really wasn’t necessary, he was planning to go already), Aron had decided to go to the Produce 101 concert. Truth be told, the term “Produce 101″ is one that brings about mixed feelings for Aron. On one hand, he was incredibly proud of his dongsaengs doing really well on the show. And he was truly very appreciative of all the new found fans that came to support NU’EST. However, at the same time it was bittersweet. Being starved from social media was one thing. But, feeling left behind from all this fame was a whole other level. Furthermore, with Minhyun out of the dorm, some things just didn’t feel right. Simply put, Aron was conflicted, but he came to the concert to have fun, and that is what he will do.

Being a celebrity himself, and a ‘friend’ (more like brother) of some of the performers, Aron was ushered into the hall early so that he could pay a visit to the backstage. He was nervous, almost too nervous. But, who could blame him, his blood type is A. Furthermore, it has been months since he last stepped behind the stage. Also, he was a little afraid to see the rest of the Nu’est boys being all chummy with the other trainees. He respected that they were bound to make close friends, but a small tinge of jealousy still coloured his perception. Anyway, with his tongue between his teeth he followed his manager as he got brought to the oh so familiar stage entrance.

When the door first opened, the familiar scent of cosmetics, hair spray and steam irons wafted out. It was overwhelming, yet comforting. He missed this scent. As he took in the sights and sounds of the bustling backstage, he followed his manager who was helping him look for the boys. Soon they arrived at the waiting room. Just as his manager was about to reach for the doorknob Aron cried, “Stop. Wait. Maybe I shouldn’t go in after all.”

“What? Why? We are already here. Besides, you were the one who said you wanted to meet them before they go on stage,” his manager complained.

“Sorry sorry hyung. I know, it’s just... I don’t know... it feels weird,” Aron muttered, as he looked down at his feet. He was afraid. He was nervous. He was anxious.

His manager sighed, “Aron, I know you want to go in, so I’m not going to let you chicken out now.” With that his manager swung the door open and pushed Aron in, before lightly closing the door behind him.

Aron had no chance to protest, and before he knew it he was in the lions’ pit. For a good few seconds, the boys (who were currently engulfing their dinners) stared blankly at the new arrival. 

“Oh my god. Where is a hole when you need one,” Aron sighed underneath his breath, as he got ready to turn around and exit the room. 

But just has his finger tips touched the door knob he felt a heavy weight jump onto his shoulders.

“Aron hyung! You’re here!!” Minki exclaimed as he hopped onto Aron for a piggy back.

Instinctively Aron picked up Minki’s legs in a piggy back. Feeling Minki close by calmed his beating heart, and with a little egging he turned around. He was greeted by the smiling faces of Jonghyun, Minhyun and Dongho.

“Hyunggg~~” they all chimed in unison. 

“Hey guys, hehe,” Aron chuckled nervously.

“Hyung you’re here!” Jonghyun celebrated.

“Woohoo Kwak Aron has arrived!” Dongho cheered.

“Hyung! Is that my sweater?!!!” Minhyun commented, rather horrified.

“I don’t have any nice clothes, just lend it to me kay,” Aron winked as he puckered up to mime an apologetic kiss. 

The 5 boys exploded into laughter. Without a word they got together into a giant group hug by the door. For a few moments they relished in this quiet moment of solidarity. Aron shut his eyes tight, wishing that this moment will never end. Alas, reality is cruel (or is it?). NU’EST’s group hug was interrupted by Daehwi who sheepishly tapped onto a random hand (it was Aron’s of all people).

The group hug broke up and the boys stood in a line, slightly bewildered. The other trainees in the room had lined up into a perfect block, with the Wanna One members in the first row.

“1, 2, 3!” Daehwi counted off.

In perfect unison the 31 boys bowed and greeted, “NU’EST SUNBAEMIN, ANNYEONGYHASEYO!”

Following which the Wanna One boys did a second bow and greeted, “Annyeonghaseyo, Wanna One-imnida!”.

The NU’EST boys were in shock, especially Aron. They didn’t see this coming at all. And all they could do was stare awkwardly back at the trainees who looked back with cheeky smiles (they caught them off guard hehe!).

Jonghyun was the first to get back to his senses, and he awkwardly bowed back. This prompted the other members to do the same as they replied, “Annyeonghasaeyo, NU’EST-imnida.” It was a little messy, but it has been a while.

“Eyyyy, Hyung, do the proper one!” Samuel encouraged with a mischievous smile.

The boys didn’t really know how to respond, but they had a short meeting through a couple of eye gestures and decided. 

“1, 2, 3!” Jonghyun counted off with vigour.

“SHOW TIME, NU’EST TIME, ANNYEONGHASEYO.”

“URBAN ELECTRO BAND!” Aron shouted with measured strength.

“NU’EST-IMNIDA!”

With that, the whole room (stylists and make up artists included) erupted into cheers. It has been so long, it has been so so long. Tears welled up the in the eyes of the Nu’est boys. Jisung even started bawling, which gave Aron quite a shock. 

The awkwardness instantly dissipated, and Aron began happily chatting with the other trainees. He caught up with Samuel whom he hasn’t seen in forever. And he took plenty of selfies with the Nu’est boys. When his manager peered in to get him out, he was like an unwilling 5-year-old going to kindergarten. He didn’t want to be separated from his brothers. But alas, he had to take his place as an audience member the boy’s number one fan. 

As he rushed out to his seat, he unwittingly broke out into a smile. He felt so incredibly proud of his brothers. And he felt so incredibly touched by that small gesture by the trainees. He wasn’t a nobody. He wasn’t the phantom fifth member. He was a part of the team, the team called NU’EST. And he was loved and treasured. 

“Mmmhmmm, I am a sunbae. I better start working hard to be worthy of that name,” Aron resolved as he entered the seating area. It was going to be a great concert, and it was a new beginning for him and for NU’EST.

‘Appa’~  (A Produce 101 Season 2 Fanfic)

Wow, I didn’t expect to receive such a positive response in my first dabble in fan fiction. I truly appreciate everyone who has shown interest in my writing. I don’t mind accepting requests if anyone is interested, but I may be a little slow with it due to school and stuff. 

Anyway, here is another cute scenario I imagined going on among the Broduce trainees. Since Dongho and Jonghyun are often termed the dads of Broduce, I wanted to write a little scenario where they were hiding from the ‘kids’. This is partially inspired by the pantry mum video that went viral a while ago. Enjoy~~

“We’ll be safe here right?” Jonghyun muttered under his breath.

“I think so, no one will think of looking for us here,” Dongho replied in a hushed voice.

If anyone were to look at this scenario now, they probably would be very very confused. Here, in the middle of the day, at 2pm, Pledis trainees, Kim Jonghyun and Kang Dongho were currently cramped together in a tiny broom closet. They were twisted like pretzels, struggling to get comfortable. Their breaths were shallow. Beads of sweat dripping down their foreheads. Before you get the wrong idea, let me clarify that this is not that, if you know what I mean. But, this was a matter of life or death.

You see, Jonghyun and Dongho have always been very caring people. Their basically two little care bears who love to take care of others. Their hearts are warm and their shoulders are sturdy. So many of the trainees have come to rely on them heavily for support. Both of them have already spent countless nights comforting different boys experiencing existential crises. Some would come over all cool, asking only for a quick moment, only to spend the next 2 hrs bawling their eyes out to them. It was exhausting, but neither Dongho nor Jonghyun could bear to turn these boys away, so listen they did, night after night after night. 

Just take a moment to imagine that. At first, Dongho and Jonghyun didn’t mind. Losing a little sleep to comfort a friend in distress, that was fine, until everyone was beginning to become distressed. They liked that people found them approachable. They liked to give advice. They didn’t even mind being called “Appa~” by some of the trainees. But as the days went by it just got worse and worse. And that is how we end up here, in the broom closet, where both boys are desperately trying to escape from their ‘sons’.

“Hyung~~~~” Hyunbin’s rumbling voice sounds in a distance.

“Hyung~~~~” Guanlin’s soon follows.

“HYUNG! HYUNG!” Daehwi’s high scream resonated from the outside.

“Hyung where are you?” Haknyeon’s voice chimed.

“Hyung.” “HYUNG!” “HyUnG.” “HYUUUUUUUNNNNG”, a chorus of “Hyung”s were singing beyond the broom closet door, and all Jonghyun and Dongho could do was hold their breaths. 

The trainees were desperately confused, where did their beloved appas go? A manhunt had ensued, and they were fervently looking for them. They opened every room, checked every corner thrice, and basically swept the place. But neither the wartortle nor the tiger could be found. They were getting worried. Appa where did you go?

Back in the broom closet...

“Honestly I love those boys...” Jonghyun started.

“I know...” Dongho sighed.

“But.... over the past 5 nights, I have had a total of 3 hours of sleep...”

“I’ve only had 2....”

“I’m just... I’m just... I don’t want to turn them away but...” Jonghyun chokes from the guilt.

“Just let it out man, we are in the same boat,” Dongho comforts as he puts a hand onto Jonghyun’s shoulder. A single tear escapes his eyes.

“I’m so tired...” Jonghyun finally cracks.

“Me too...” Dongho’s eyes were overflowing by now.

“Is it wrong? Is it bad for me to want to sleep? I mean... I really feel so tired”

“Mmmhmmm....” Dongho struggled to reply as he wiped his tears away.

For a moment the two boys just sat there, silently sobbing. Being a dad was hard. It was stressful. And they felt terribly alone. Yet, they loved their ‘sons’ and they wanted to help. But, they felt so limited... and most importantly so exhausted (due to the lack of sleep).

Unfortunately their tranquility was soon interrupted by a piercing light. Someone had finally found them in the broom closet. 

“Jonghyun arh. Dongho ah. Oh my goodness, you guys were here all along, you had me worried sick” Minhyun exclaimed as he spotted the boys twisted together in the broom closet.

Dongho and Jonghyun look up. They recognize Minhyun’s voice, and vaguely made out his figure through their tears. Both lunged forward hugging onto Minhyun’s calves and cried out “Umma!”. Finally, mom had returned to them. In shock, Minhyun crouched down and attempted to comfort the distressed boys. “There, there it’s okay. Everything will be alright.” In the mean time, the confused ‘sons’ of Produce 101 Season 2, were still looking for their ‘fathers’.

If anyone is a little confused by the reference at the end: Minhyun is often dubbed the ‘Mom’ of Nu’est, because he nags the members about chores and takes care of the members a lot. Just like how a mom would.
