National Service Scheme (NSS)

The National Service Scheme (NSS) is a Central Sector Scheme of Government of India, Ministry of Youth Affairs & Sports. It provides opportunity to the student youth of 11th & 12th Class of schools at +2 Board level and student youth of Technical Institution, Graduate & Post Graduate at colleges and University level of India to take part in various Government led community service activities & programmes. The primary objective of developing the personality and character of the student youth through voluntary community service. ‘Education through Service’ is the purpose of the NSS. NSS was launched in 1969 in 37 Universities involving about 40,000 volunteers which has now spread over 657 Universities and 51 +2 Councils/Directorates, covering 20,669 Colleges/ Technical Institutions and 11,988 Senior Secondary School. Since inception , over 7.4 crore students have benefitted from NSS.

एनएसएस ने रैली निकालकर बालिका शिक्षा, स्वच्छता और नशा मुक्ति पर क्षेत्रवासियो को किया जागरूक

भारत सरकार के युवा मामले एवं खेलकूद मंत्रालय द्वारा स्वच्छ भारत मिशन के अंतर्गत 17 सितंबर से 1 अक्टूबर तक ‘स्वच्छता ही सेवा अभियान’ चलाया जा रहा है। इस अभियान के तहत शनिवार को मेवाड़ यूनिवर्सिटी के राष्ट्रीय सेवा योजना (एनएसएस) की इकाई ने मानसिंह का खेड़ा ग्राम में पहुंचकर डोर टू डोर अभियान चलाया। इसके बाद वॉलिंटियर्स ने राजकीय उच्च माध्यमिक विद्यालय में पहुँचकर साफ-सफाई की और बाल सभा आयोजित कर स्कूली बच्चों को स्वास्थ्य, शिक्षा, पोषण और नशा मुक्ति जैसे कई महत्वपूर्ण मुद्दों के प्रति जागरूक किया।

इससे पूर्व सुबह के समय मेवाड़ यूनिवर्सिटी के कुलपति प्रो. (डॉ.) आलोक मिश्रा ने रैली को संबोधित किया और भारत सरकार के उक्त अभियान के बारे में वॉलिंटियर्स को अवगत कराया। उन्होंने राष्ट्रीय से���ा योजना के राष्ट्र और समाज के उत्थान के प्रति किए जा रहे कार्याें की प्रशंसा की। इसके बाद उन्होंने हरी झंडी दिखाकर रैली को रवाना किया। एनएसएस कार्यक्रम अधिकारी शांतिनाथ ने बताया कि लगभग 50 से ज्यादा वॉलिंटियर्स ने संपूर्ण ग्राम में रैली निकाली और घर-घर जाकर महिला और पुरूष दोनों को बालिका शिक्षा, पोषण और नशा मुक्ति के संबंध में जागरूक किया। एनएसएस कार्यक्रम अधिकारी डॉ. ओमप्रकाश शर्मा ने बताया कि वॉलिंटियर्स ने क्षेत्रवासियों की स्थानीय समस्याओं को ध्यान में रखते हुए जागरूक किया। डॉ. शर्मा ने कहा कि इस तरह के कार्यक्रम में स्टूडेंट्स को बढ़-चढ़कर भाग लेना चाहिए इससे उनमें सामाजिक और नागरिक जिम्मेदारी की भावना विकसित होती है। राजकीय उच्च माध्यमिक विद्यालय की प्राचार्या विजय गौतम ने एनएसएस इकाई द्वारा किए गए कार्यक्रम की प्रशंसा करते हुए धन्यवाद दिया। कार्यक्रम को सफल बनाने में एनएसएस वॉलिंटियर्स में आर्यन शर्मा, राजवीर और ऋषभ, इम्तियाज का योगदान रहा। वहीं बालिका वॉलिंटियर्स में जयंती झा, अनुराधा, दिव्या मेघवाल शामिल रही। तकनीकी कार्य का संपादन तौफीक ने किया।

On the next Day of the camp, the NSS volunteers visited the Govt. Model Sanskriti Primary school, Khentawas . The children were taught cleanliness and good values. The volunteers also motivated the children to work to earn their living and distributed books, stationary items and sweets to the needy children. The NSS volunteers encouraged the children to showcase their talent in respective fields of their interest which motivated the other children around them. Further a lecture on cleanliness and hygiene by the NSS volunteers was followed by the National Anthem.

On the Second Day, the NSS Volunteers visited the Om Shanti Retreat Centre of Brahmakumari’s (ORC) at Bhorakalan, Gurgaon. The lecture was very inspiring and a peace of mind for the volunteers. During the session she explained how the act of goodness can change everyone’s life. The students were also made aware of the fact, how introspection and meditation can change their mindset towards society and themselves. It was all based on various acts of goodness like sharing, uplifting, caring, helping etc. The volunteers visited the whole campus including the art gallery, pyramid structured meditation room, garden, dining hall, solar system etc.
