At the risk of sounding like a grumpy 'get off my lawn' boomer, I just told my parents I was accepted into my chosen college and I had to repeat it for my mom because she was on her phone when I said it the first time so she wasn't paying attention. Far be it from me to say 'technology bad' but uh. That certainly didn't feel good.

#like realistically i know it's not really the phones fault but it's also not not because of the phones #like partially it's that technology is made to be as addictive as possibly nowadays in order to make more money #but also it's partially because after i started talking my mom still chose to check her phone #it can be both #still shitty #now to be fair it isn't the best or most prestigious college in the world #or even the state #but after 4 years and a pandemic im finally ready to go back to school #and i was hoping for a bit of excitement i guess #fi talks
