Five times Jack and Bunny weren’t dating (Much to the confusion of Everyone Else)
2041 words, ace
====
"Come on, Sugar." The Groundhog leaned against Aster, grinding her hip against his. "One little date couldn't hurt, could it?"
"Yeah.... Well, y'see..." Aster tried to find some graceful way to get her away from him, without resorting to the violence that he would momentarily enjoy but regret later. A sudden drop in temperature behind him provided inspiration. "I can't because m'datin' Jack Frost!"
"What?!"
"What?!" Echoed Jack's irritated voice from behind him. Aster glanced over his shoulder, meeting Jack's annoyed gaze, then made a slight motion with his head towards the Groundhog.
Jack's tense angry posture melted as understanding flickered across his face, followed by merriment. "You called, Snugglebunny?" Jack asked, sickly-sweet as he twined one arm around Aster's.
Oh, thank goodness. Aster plastered on a grin and shifted closer to Jack. "Have y'met Phyllis? The Groundhog?" He asked, motioning to Phyllis.
"Can't say that I have." Jack said, tone frosty as he eyed her proximity to Aster.
He'd hoped that Phyllis would take the clue and back off, but she narrowed her eyes, glaring at Jack as if he were the interloper. "I've heard much about you." Phyllis purred, holding a hand out.
Jack smiled politely back, releasing Aster to take her hand and shaking it. "Pleasure."
"Oh!" Phyllis exclaimed, not releasing Jack's hand. "What smooth skin you have. No fur at all. How strange that must be." She said, fluffing up the hair on her round cheeks with her other hand.
The ambient temperature dropped as Jack smiled. It wasn't a pleasant expression. "It does make it easier to groom." He said, ice forming along his hand. Phyllis squeaked, finally releasing Jack.
For a moment, Jack and Phyllis stared at each other, faces smiling as they spat at each other with their eyes. Aster began to double think this plan, wondering if he had just put himself in the middle of a cat-fight, with himself as the prize.
He backed up a step, wrapping his arm around Jack. He knew who he was throwing his support behind.
Phyllis paused, then inclined her head. "I think I hear someone calling my name. Excuse me." She said, stomping away with her head held high.
Aster watched her go, trying not to cringe at the comments under her breath about what beautiful babies they would have made. Jack shifted closer to him, giving Aster's arm a squeeze  "You okay?" Jack asked quietly.
"Yeah." Aster wrapped an arm around Jack, resting his chin on Jack's head. "Thanks." He wanted to leave and go take a bath, roll around on the grass until her scent and the memory of her touch left him. She didn’t smell right at all, too much like this alien planet and not enough like a Pooka to put the thoughts she was insinuating in his head.
Jack smelled familiar, hints of the Warren and North's Workshop clinging to him, and it helped ground Aster. He nuzzled the white hair, messing it up, and making Jack laugh.
"Anytime." Jack's voice was warm, as he hugged Aster back. He chuckled, only slightly strained. "Got me away from my own admirers." He muttered, clearly uncomfortable.
"Sounds like we need a battleplan." Aster smirked, his good humour resuming at having something he could do. "I'll watch yer back-"
"I got yours." Jack promised, voice rich and amused, giving Aster a squeeze before backing up half a step. Aster let him go, smiling back at Jack's grin, wide and joyful. Jack inclined his head. "C'mon. I heard a rumour that there's refreshments around here, Hunny-Bunny."
"I see how it's gonna be." Aster smirked, allowing Jack to pull him towards the far wall where the snacks were. "-Snow White."
"Ooh!" Jack shot him an evil grin. "It's on now!"
Aster laughed, ignoring the looks they were getting. There were far worse things than hanging out with Jack Frost.
++++
"Twinkle-Toes."
"Buggy-Bunny."
"Pumpkin."
"No. Snuggle-Bug."
"Nipper?"
"Doodle-Bun."
"Snowflake."
"Funny-Bunny."
"Ice-"
"I can't take it anymore!" Tooth exploded, waving her arms. "Could PLEASE take your flirting somewhere else?! It's really distracting!"
Several of her fairies chirped in agreement.
Jack and Aster blinked, staring at her. Tooth blushed.
"Sorry." She muttered.
"Right." Jack nodded. "Sorry... I guess it's our bad-?" He offered, glancing at Aster for affirmation.
Aster shrugged back. He was kind of confused on how coming up with insulting nicknames could be considered 'flirting'.
+++
"Bunny, catch." Jack said, holding up a radish from across the table. Without thinking about it, Aster opened his mouth, Jack tossing it across the table, Aster snatching it out of mid-air with his teeth.
"Yes!" Jack cheered, a wide grin on his face as he tossed his arms up into the air.
Aster snorted in amusement. It took so little to keep Jack happy. Speaking of which... Aster plucked a cherry tomato off his plate and flicked it at Jack.
"Got it!" Jack leaned back, catching it in his mouth, biting down into the red vegetable with great relish. Jack still wasn't used to having a chance to try the plants that grew in the summer, finding them to be a still-rare treat. Aster made sure to slip him the best ones to try whenever he got a chance.
They flung bits and pieces of the food going around at each other, grabbing each other's favourite foods as they passed their sides of the table, tossing them back and forth with the ease of many shared meals together. Jack pulled the beets out of his salad and set them aside, sliding them across the table to Aster to eat. Aster did the same with the baby corn, he didn't like their texture much.
Phil cleared his throat, making a confused noise. Jack and Aster glanced around, discovering that they were the centre of attention.
"What?" Jack asked, grabbing a croissant for himself and tossing Aster a pumpernickel roll.
"Nothing." North said. He pointedly cleared his throat, glancing at the other Guardians and the gathered Yeti and Elves, who turn their attention back the massive amount of food in front of them.
Jack shot Aster a confused look. So they were used to sharing meals. So what?
Aster shrugged back. People were strange.
+++
The funny thing about Jack was that when he got tired, he got all loose limbed and cuddly, like a tiny kitten. Anyone would do, but Aster was Jack's preferred person to lean against and doze against.
It was annoying if Aster was in the middle of working on something, but when he was reading, or attempting to relax, it was kind of nice to have Jack snuggled against him. Usually this meant that at some point, Jack would go boneless and using Aster's lap as a pillow, his head at just the right place for Aster to run his fingers through Jack's cold hair.
It was soothing, calming to a instinctual part of his brain that had been screaming for centuries. That he was fulfilling his obligations, taking care of his Clan, providing for the youngster, helping him grow big and strong.
Never mind that logically, Jack would never age. And that they were different species, different Clans entirely.
It still pleasing to have the company, to feel another's heartbeat so close to his, even it was alien.
Sandy appeared, waving cheerfully and Aster motioned for quiet. Sandy floated closer, looking confused, then his golden eyes widened, an exclamation point appearing above his head.
With an apologetic wave, Sandy quickly left, going back the way he came.
Aster watched him go, then glanced down at Jack, who was sleeping face-down on his lap.
The heck-?
+++
“Ah-hem.” Tooth cleared her throat, pointing upwards with a mischievous little look. Aster looked up to find a sprig of mistletoe sprouting from one of the layers of the Tooth Palace.
Which just happened to be right above Jack and Aster’s heads. One he was pretty sure he hadn’t seen there when they arrived to visit Tooth and her girls.
Aster glanced down at Jack, raising one eyebrow in question. Jack smirked back, looking amused as he stood up on his tip toes and kissed the top of Aster’s nose, where it was covered in short fur. It was kind of an odd chill sensation, but not bad.
Jack rocked back on his heels, giving Aster a wide grin. Aster frowned. “Did you just nip my nose?” He demanded, trying not to laugh. Although there certainly hadn’t been any teeth involved.
“Maybe.” Jack sing-sang, looking proud of himself.
The laugh Aster had been trying to hide came out as an amused huff, and he leaned down to return the favour, pressing his lips against Jack’s nose with a loud comical ‘mwah!’.
He got wide eyed stare for a brief second, as if Jack couldn’t believe that Aster had just done that that, then started laughing, little snowflakes forming around him in joy, and disappearing just as quickly in the warm air.
“Reckon we need to do that more often.” Aster mused, swinging an arm around Jack’s shoulders, and pulling him close. Jack nodded as he leaned against Aster, wrapping an arm around Aster’s waist. Kissing wasn’t something Pooka did, but he could see himself growing to like it.
He wondered how Jack felt about forehead kisses.
“Sounds good to me.” Jack agreed, grinning happily. “Now, what can we help you out with, Tooth?”
Tooth was giving them a strange look, like they’d done something unexpected. She gave herself a small shake, then smiled. “Oh! Right this way.” She escorted them towards a different part of her Palace to work on some murals.
Aster shared a glance at Jack, who shrugged back, wondering what she’d expected them to do instead.
+++
"Bunny." North said, shifting his weight awkwardly. "I wish to speak with you. About Jack."
Aster's ears twitched, automatically trying to sense where the boy was. Playing with the wind outside of the Workshop most likely. "He alright?"
"Jack is fine." North waved it off. "But you. This has been going on for many decades now. When are you going to make your intentions known?"
Aster stared blankly at North. "Intentions?"
"Wedding!" North threw his hands in the air.
... Huh?
"You have been dating for long while!" North gestured, sounding like an old Mother Hen. "Is it not time to tie the knot?"
"No?" Aster ventured. Why would they get married anyway?
"Then you have been leading Jack on?" North asked, a dangerous growl entering his voice.
"No." Aster shook his head. "And he's fine with things the way they are." Or at least, he'd never made any comment.
North made an annoyed grunt, crossing his arms. Aster raised an eyebrow. "Y'can ask him yerself."
"I will." North agreed. "He will be here any-"
"Hey, guys!" Jack cheerfully announced, touching down between them, covered more than usual with a layer of ice over his clothing. Jack paused, glancing between the two of them with a wary expression. "What's going on?"
"North wants to know when we're gonna get hitched." Aster waved a hand at North, who nodded, looking resolute.
Jack looked between them, as if waiting for the punchline. "Why would we do that?" He asked, no panic or fear in his voice, just flat out confusion.
Aster shrugged.
"You are dating!" North's eyes were wide.
Jack shook his head. "No, we're not."
"But the pet names! The food! The snuggling!"
"We're friends-?" Jack drawled. "Who live in close proximity to each other?"
Practically in each other's laps, some months.
"Bah." North threw his hands in the air. "Hopeless!" He announced, then stormed off.
Jack leaned against his staff. "Was that weird to you? Cause that was weird to me."
"It's North." Aster shrugged, as if that explained everything.
Jack considered his words for a moment, then nodded in agreement, shifting his weight to lean against Aster instead. Aster put a commiserating arm around Jack’s shoulders, ignoring the looks the yeti gave them.
Really, people were so strange sometimes.

Cutie Reviews: Tokyo Treat May 19
Hello, welcome to our next review :3 today we’ll be looking at the May Tokyo Treat. I’m going to point out now that i was a little disgruntled by some details in this specific box- but I will still fairly access everything as usual.
Tumblr media
(You probably recognize the DIY item there, I won’t be reviewing it because I already have, and have gotten it numerous times since <_<)
“We’re so excited for you to try this month’s mixture of snacks. Doesn’t the crisp air and budding springtime flowers make you just want to devour some juicy fruit and enjoy their sweet flavors? You’re in luck, because this month we’ve got some yummy fruity flavors in a variety of sweet treats! We’ve also got some delicious savory snacks in store for you! Are you ready? We can’t wait for you to enjoy this months Tutti Fruity box!“
Lucky Treat
Tumblr media
This month, the Lucky Treat is full of adorable Rilakkuma goods ranging from cuddly to practical school and kitchen items, many of which feature Rilakkuma hanging out with his friends and visiting various places.
May Prize
Tumblr media
Meanwhile, the contest is all about Gudetama, featuring two plush for the grand prize winner, and Gudetama cookies for the runner-ups.
--------
Fanta Banana Yogurt Mix
Our first item (see pic on top) is the Banana Yogurt Fanta we were supposed to get in the previous box, but due to the “exciting release“ of the Sakura-flavored cola, it was pushed back to this box. Which isn’t bad since it still fits with the theme of this box. Made from healthy banana and nutrients, this is a carbonated drink at only 34kcal, making it a great choice for those seeking less-calorie intake.
Rating: ♥
Honestly I didn’t even want to give it that heart. I’ve said this several times but I’ll say it again if you might be new, I don’t like bananas, and I especially HATE the taste of artificial banana! I tasted no sort of creamy yogurtness or vanilla or anything else except banana. My parents loved the drink meanwhile, so I let them share it.
BUT in saying that, if you like bananas/artificial banana, you will probably really like this. Even though I disliked it, I never spit out the portion I tried and didn’t think I would throw up (like that takoyaki nightmare from a few boxes ago). So it earned 1 heart for at least not making me hate bananas even more.
Caramel Corn Puffs
Tumblr media
I decided to start with this because I’ve had it numerous times and didn’t feel like I needed to entirely review it. The Tohato Caramel Corn is a popular brand that we’ve encountered many times, not only in the original/regular flavor, but in a variety of others.
This time we are receiving the original in “share pack“ form, each bag/10 grams being 56kcal.
These are delicious, lightly crisp caramel-flavored puffs. They are pretty sweet though so unless you have a sweet-tooth, you might find them cloying after a while. They make all sorts of unique sweet flavors, from fruity to desserts like tiramisu and ice cream. I would recommend them and they’re pretty easy to find online.
Curry-flavor Crispy Flakes & Salt and Wasabi Chips
Tumblr media
Another item I won’t really be reviewing are these little ramen noodle crispy flakes flavored after curry. Besides snacking on them, they can also be used to top udon or other noodle dishes.
I’m not reviewing this because this is also another item I’ve had a few times- but in comparison to caramel corn, I don’t actually like this one. They have a nice crunchiness and the flavor is strong, but that was why I didn’t like them, I wasn’t into the flavor. This was another item I gave my mom.
-----
Meanwhile, we also have a bag of salt and wasabi chips by Calbee. Now, originally we were supposed to get the Pizza Mayo Mentaiko flavored chips, but due to regulations in meat substances being shipped, it had to be replaced last-second, so we either got the Wasabi chips or the lightly salted.
I was a little disappointed by the change, but at least they were giving us another Calbee brand chip to replace it. These chips (which I have no info on due to the late change not reflected in the book) have a total of 305kcal per-bag.
Rating: ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥
I usually love these chips, but this one I was a little mixed with opinions because I only like wasabi in extremely small doses sometimes. The flavor is pretty strong and bold, and they get spicy the more you eat, and if you love wasabi I’m sure you would really like these. I can’t say they’re my favorite of the brand, but the crunch is great and they still taste good. You also get a lot of foldy chips (the ones that resemble fortune cookies or wontons), which are my favorites~
Also, I discovered they go good with cream cheese :P my favorite sushi is a Philadelphia roll, which is what gave me the idea to try it.
Matcha Chocolate Corn Puffs & Strawberry Rusk
Tumblr media
Following those are two more items I have tried before- so I won’t be reviewing them either (I’m sorry but I don’t see the point in writing the same thing, and essentially I’m still reviewing the item...). First are the Matcha Chocolate puffs by Ginbis, a brand known for their delicious star-shaped corn puffs with chocolate baked into them. This specific flavor is a limited edition, so it’s not always available. Each bag is 321kcal.
So... this is pretty much like the banana drink. I hate green tea and these have no sweetness at all. But the texture is a smooth crispiness which I do like, so I usually like this brands products. If you like green tea you’ll probably love these.
-------
Our other item is a strawberry chocolate coated rusk (rusk are baked bread pieces coated in glaze and/or sugar) from Ginza Rusk. These are sweet little biscuits embedded entirely with the strawberry flavor, and each pack is 208kcal; something I find a little unappealing about them when you compare the amount to some of the other items <3<
They’re a light crunch and taste pretty good, but I’m usually not a big fan of these rusk snacks. This one I found more tolerable then usual though; maybe they’re starting to grow on me.
Chobo Chobo Cookies & Sakura Japanese Sake KitKat.
Tumblr media
These little baked, puffy cookies are made from a traditional recipe and are known for melting in ones mouth. Their bags feature all sorts of adorable little character variations, and each bag is 62kcal.
Rating: ♥ ♥
I don’t know what they put in these but they aren’t my most favorite thing. They remind me a lot of something I don’t like, but I haven’t had said thing in a really long time so I don’t remember what it was...
All things considered they do melt in your mouth though.
-----
Next is another unique KitKat, featuring the fresh sakura (cherries) and Japanese sake (alcohol). These are limited edition and out in time to celebrate Hanami (cherry blossom viewing). You get 12 mini-sets per usual, and each one is 63kcal.
Rating: ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥
They have a lovely pink color (its my favorite shade in fact) and as soon as you eat them you taste the sake and a perfumey cherry- it reminds me of a fresh powdery bath product from Avon. But as strange as that is, I actually kinda like it. I’m not sure if they put alcohol in these, but I’m assuming they might soak the wafer in it or something.
New Mochitaro Puffs & Sugar Rusk Umaibo
Tumblr media
These are our last crunchy snacks presented in this months box. First is the Mochitaro Puffs, which are small, bite-sized crispy snacks. I couldn’t find the calories on this, and these are basic salted.
Rating: ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥
There isn’t too much flavor in these compared to the other snacks in the box, but the saltiness is noticeable, without being too intense. I kind of like how they aren’t as bold as the other snacks though, it’s a nice change of pace. They sort of remind me of the regular/plain Bugles.
------
We also have our monthly Umaibo; this time in a sweet sugary rusk flavor. It has a buttery sweetness in scent, and each stick is 43kcal. If you’re interested in trying Umaibo, they’re super-easy to find online; I’d recommend them but they can become Addictive!
Rating: ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥
In terms of favorites, it doesn’t make my top 3- but it would probably make my top 10. It’s really good, it reminds me of buttery pretzel sticks, I would recommend it if you want something crispy and sweet.
Strawberry Lollipop & Strawberry Mochi
Tumblr media
I love strawberries, so I was overall happy to see a few strawberry items in this box- even if I’m not hugely into rusk. First up we have a basic strawberry lollipop with a Hello Kitty package. There are multiple packages, each with a cute little game on the back, like for example mine has a “find the matching flower“ game. Each lollipop is 22.8kcal.
Rating: ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥
Tastes like typical Japanese strawberry candy, which is a little different than American strawberry candy in most cases. It’s not a realistic flavor, but I really like it. I swear I get a little hint of watermelon or peach in it too.
------
Our next item is an actual Mochi :3 these are very rare in this box, I can’t recall if we ever had t before or not... but I do like mochi. It’s become pretty popular where I live as of late, especially ice cream ones, but I think I prefer the basic snacking ones more.
With this little pack you get two, adorable baby mochi~ I couldn’t find calories on them either. But as you can see in the pick, each one has a marshmallow-like inside with strawberry cream or jelly in the middle.
Rating: ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥
Dissecting it, you don’t get much flavor or taste but its very soft, and just a little sweet. They’re also fun to squeeze and play with, and when you eat it entirely (careful so you don’t choke though >x<) you get a bit of flavor. I can’t say I strongly taste anything but I like it.
Cherry Mochi
Tumblr media
If you’ve read my blog before then you might recognize this, this is an alternate Mochi treat and we have had these before- these ones are cherry flavored, and last time they were soda. These are by the brand Kyoshin. I couldn’t find calories.
Rating: ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥
Besides the cute and unique packaging, these also taste good. They’re very different from the other mochi, in that they’re little chewy candies. They taste like normal cherry-flavored candy.
♥ Cutie Ranking ♥
Content - 5 out of 5. Everything held up and it was all plenty tasty, with the exception of a few items I didn’t really like, but I know catered to those of you who do like the taste would love the items. Nothing tasted stale or old.
Quality - 2 out of 5. I was severely disappointed, not in the quality of the items but the box itself for being extremely repetitive; half of the box had repetitive items, the theme was very repetitive, and the DIY kit was disgracefully repetitive...
Theme - 3 out of 5. A good portion of the box was fairly fruity in going with the theme, and I believe if you’re going to do a theme you should stick with it, and I noticed that the Classic edition of the box caters more towards the theme than the Premium, but this time I thought it was decent. However, as I said above it was pretty repetitive, so I can’t say I enjoyed the theme.
Total Rank: 5 out of 10. Not counting my preference in flavors, I feel like the items were great. Nothing was stale for having sat around a few months (which is a problem sometimes), no quality problems in terms of item damage or issues, but the fruity theme didn’t appeal to me at all because I feel like the box only half-tried in following it, and there was a lot of repetition. I even wanted to justify the DIY but you honestly can’t at this point. I think this is the 3rd time I’ve gotten it recently, and several kits have fruity tastes or themes, there was no excuse for them to give this same DIY kit to us this soon. They quit with the health snacks and everything else that made this box unique and fun, I don’t understand why obtaining equally priced DIY is suddenly so hard.
♥ Cutie’s Scale of Yummy ♥
I’m not doing it this time, I’m kind of in a bad mood now that I wrote that <3< sorry.

Byakuran, Kikyo, Xanxus and Hibari with an s/o who is like the new Byakuran xD Like, they are literally gonna conquer the worldsss (Admins of MafiaBoss, thank you!!!❤️)
((I think I had a little too much fun with Byakuran, that I just didn’t leave anything left for the others. - Admin Nana))
Byakuran:
There was a hole in the very fabric of the universe.
There were holes in many of the walls of the universe, of dimensions stacked upon each other so tightly that even the slightest decision could cultivate a new reality, a new dimension. That is how tightly wound it was. Yet, there was a hole where there shouldn’t be, a crack that was splintering from the tiniest of spheres.
It wasn’t his fault. He didn’t know. But just because he was ignorant didn’t mean that it hadn’t happened or wasn’t happening at this very moment.
Time travel, while not smooth sailing (always leaving a mark, of long tracks pounded into the universe itself, of time splintering around and winding against the pathway that was made from travellers) never left damage. Not imperviable damage like this. Not things that were tearing at the walls that protected each universe from one another.
No.
What he did was not time travel.
What he did was throw himself so sharply that it splintered at the walls of the universe. All of them. All those delicate worlds and possibilities stacked up upon each other. Time travel was not dangerous. Trying to breach other worlds were. After all, since there was no one to close the holes, anything could go through, crossing the same path, going everywhere, bleeding through the fault lines so deeply that it was spilling without pause, like an ocean in a storm; across the void, and into many others, with Byakuran helping it along until finally –
The glass was shattering too widely, it was breaking.
Everything would die if this continued.
Yet no one knew.
Not a living soul.
At least, not yet.
In the only universe where Byakuran Gesso did not try and rule over the earth, defeated and reformed by one Sawada Tsunayoshi, a human screamed.
No More.
…..
“There’s no time…”
“The pain. The suffering…”
“I don’t care who you are – I’m not just going to sit here and watch!”
“My flames… were born from this world you’ve taken over.”
“Smile…”
“Pride is not something you can surrender.”
“No matter who you are, I won’t lose.”
“Is it fun?”
“The truth is, that I lied.”
No more.
For less than a second, everything was silent, a hush that rippled through your senses, a quiet that felt so tranquil, only to explode once more with noise. It wasn’t a pleasant feeling, for it wasn’t a small, tiny noise. In fact, it was like a distant echo that made the air tremble, rattling at the walls of your mind and making you grimace with pain.
“My head…” Your voice was odd. It wasn’t accented. Yet it was interesting, for it just didn’t sound right. It fell off your tongue strangely, heavy, foreign on your teeth as you spoke. “It hurts.”
It really wasn’t right, different, odd. Hm. What did you sound like, before? It wasn’t anything like it was now. But – oh. That wasn’t what mattered. It was the man in front of you that did. The man who wasn’t much older, a young and handsome man whose light purple eyes stared unshakingly at you.
He – you know him, but do not recognize him, how does that work? – was always an odd man, whose smiles were stretching and skin lined with white clothing, of a colour that just didn’t quite match his grey heart. Yet at this moment, that smile was strained, practically a farce from the usual ones he would give.
He seemed to be looking at you as if something had changed. Something he couldn’t quite understand.
Your hands flew to your face. Smooth skin. No wrinkles, no scars at all. You twisted a hair between your fingers, finding it to still to be the same colour, the same texture, and same length. Nothing had changed, but somehow… he looked at you as if you were not what he expected.
Perhaps that was so.
Perhaps something had changed. Something certainly felt changed.
A different voice, jumbling in your head, whispered that it was such a silly thought, that you were still the same person despite –
“You don’t have to do this.”
“Why not?” You asked, voice low and tired. Your head was still far away, but you tried to concentrate on his voice, on what was occurring now. It made your head hurt, pounding away as if someone were knocking insistently at it.
“Can you hear them singing?”
“Because I’ve been where you are.” He said softly, voice calm, assured. “I know how this will end.”
You shifted and your body ached, protesting as you pulled yourself up from your perfectly comfortable seat, making your way across the floor to peer closer at him. Something felt off about him, off and hypocritical. If he wasn’t tied to his chair, flame suppressors biting at his skin, you were certain he would have lurched from the chair and tried something undecidedly rude. It was in his eyes, the way his nails bit deeply into the skin of his palm.
The air was hot, but he breathed, body tense and wound as if he were cold.
You breathed out slowly, finding a sharp pain building up in your lungs.
“It’s like I’m being torn apart.”
He did know, he always knew. It was no surprise. He had been here before, sitting at the edge of something more than himself. Just like you. A no named boss of a nondescript famiglia that had risen from the shadows, and the man who had brought you to where you are today right before you, because… because… no more!
You giggled breathlessly, marvelling at the thought, arms trembling at the sheer wonder of it. He sat there, watching as you patted yourself down, humming, feeling pleased with yourself as you began to realize that everything was starting and everything was ending.
Byakuran – oh! – looked back at you with a face smoothed of any tensions now, almost calm, familiar to your heart. It was the same look he would give when he wanted something and you couldn’t quite keep the smile off your face, the sudden realization of where you were and who was with you suddenly dawning.
“Yeah, I’m a mafia boss. Now, run for your life!”
“Isn’t this exciting?” You asked, amused. Were you amused? You felt amused. Or perhaps that was just the bounce in your step as you did a little jig. Oh! This was giddy. It was like being drunk, but better.
“You don’t have to own the universe.” His tone was insisting, almost desperate, “Just see it.”
Something creaked and snarled deep within you, rearing up as if physically struck. You leaned sharply towards him, so close that you could see the different shades of purple in his eyes, seeing the barely there tension in the jaw and the thin scar at his brow (faint, barely there, almost nonexistent).
“Listen,” You wanted him to listen, to know everything that was being whispered into your mind. Of energy that wound you up painfully tight, burning at the very crevices of your senses.
“It hurts!”
You whispered softly, “Calling…”
“Can’t you hear them singing?”
It was there in your mind (everything burning; life and death all at once; the sun and the moon, the day and the night), all that was, all that is, all that ever could be.
“I want it to stop!” You shrieked, stumbling back with a violent rage. “I want it to stop! I don’t want to hear anymore!”
No more.
But it wouldn’t stop, like a steady stream that would continue on through the ages, it lingered in your mind without a doubt. Raging like an inferno, eating away at your very being, destroying you from the inside out.
“No one is meant to take in the Time Vortex!”
Oh. You were dying.
You knew that. It made you tremble, whether out of fear or rage was uncertain. All you knew was that your heart was racing, the walls felt too thin, and Byakuran was staring at you with an almost sad sort of look. Why was he sad?
He should feel guilty.
“All the people who died because of my mercy!”
All those worlds he had destroyed, all the lives that had been lost. If only there had been someone to have stopped that cycle, someone who could assure that no one had to die like that again – the earth decaying from the inside out.
“Just save someone…”
Many of those worlds could no longer be saved.
“Why did you do that?” You whispered, voice cracking with emotion. “Didn’t you think I wouldn’t know?”
You nudged at his hand for emphasis. It looked as if he still didn’t seem to understand. But you knew better.
“Didn’t think you would know what?” He asked, prompting a vicious, bare-toothed smile from you. Oh, don’t play dumb, Byakuran. I know you, I’ve heard you; everything you have and haven’t said yet. I know you.
“The Mare Ring,” You hissed. “Don’t treat me like I’m stupid. I’m not. I’ve known what you were doing for a long time. It just took me a while to realize that.”
You were too close to Byakuran again.
You could feel the tension in the air, feel the flames coiling deeply underneath his skin without any outlet, hear the carefully controlled chatter of his teeth. He was cold. Perhaps it was cold, you couldn’t quite tell. All you could tell was that his warmth was very reduced, but felt brilliantly familiar; his scent filling your senses with the thought of home.
It wasn’t possible to go back though. There would be no way to return to that building with its pale creamy walls, the long corridors, and colourful furniture. Not that place where once, you had felt… happy, even when the scent of sugar and something spicy wasn’t particularly pleasant at first. It had been home, it had been both of yours, that place where you once danced on the hardwood floors without a care, giggling madly when he tickled your skin or pressed kisses insistently upon your face.
“No more.” You whispered, eyes intense. “No more. Right? Yes, that’s what I was thinking. No more. You said that too you know? In your past!” It felt like time – ooh, you understood it, sort of, not really – practically wriggled across your skin in protest. Well, the word past was obviously too subjective. Or was it? It felt like the past to you but not for him. Or – “Excuse me, your past or your future. I’m always getting those mixed up.”
“You can’t see the future.” He groused sternly.
You scoffed, shaking your head. “What a rude thing to say! I’ve seen it. I’m in it. If that wasn’t so then how can I know the fact you’ve ruled millions of worlds? How could I know, tell me, that you grew up totally evil? To be a ruthless dictator who would destroy millions of lives?” A smile stretched onto your face. “At least, in every world but this one. Sawada Tsunayoshi, he’s heavily influenced by time, did you know? It isn’t a surprise really.”
Making a sound of acknowledgement, Byakuran kept quiet. He had gone out of his way to ensure you never knew about his… world domination. But then, no one ever really wanted to speak about it either. It was such a sore point for everyone, a wound that was in its own ways too fresh, still tender and filled with doubts and carefully concealed worries.
“Don’t trust him. There’s a sliver of ice in his heart.”
But you did trust him.
Despite yourself, you trusted him with every sense of your being.
It wasn’t your fault that it was so easy to love, just as it hadn’t been his fault that the walls of the universe were breaking apart. But it didn’t mean it hadn’t happened, and it doesn’t mean that it made much of a difference on what you must do.
“Sometimes all we have are bad choices, but we still have to choose.”
“The walls are cracking!”
“There’s nothing we can do.”
Everyone dying.
No. You could not let that happen.
It had to stop.
It had to stop somewhere.
You had not gone through all the troubles of making a famiglia, twisting words into the shadows as they rose, for you to not see this through. You did not go through the troubles of creating your organization, whispering truths of what would be and couldn’t be, fearing their lives enough to follow you (such simple-minded creatures). You did not go through all the troubles having that same organization ambushing all the allied famiglias just so you could capture Byakuran. The man who was here before you, so close was he that you could touch him, the ring with all that power nestled snuggly on his finger.
That thrice damned thing which shouldn’t have existed.
No. You did not go through the troubles of everything, everything you had done, just to fail.
You looked at him, uncertain if you said it with truth, or guilt that it could not have been different: “I’m sorry my love.”
It was sudden.
In a crackling rush of power, it raced through the air, light sizzling through your bones, hot and buzzing.
It swarmed in your senses, in your mind. Various worlds, various conversations, various actions that had been, and hadn’t been made. Past and future mingled together, overlapping, and you couldn’t quite tell if you were the one standing over Byakuran, the man strapped in the chair, or if you were the one on the floor, bleeding out as he stood over you.
You couldn’t quite understand what was occurring.
“And how are you going to accomplish this?”
His voice felt close, and yet oddly far. It sounded as if it were muffled by a veil, or was that the water in your ears? It had been raining recently. You shook your head, trying to concentrate on the question asked.
“I’m going to win.” You answered.
“All those lives, just for this ring? It will drive you mad.”
“It already hurts. Can’t you hear them singing, Byakuran? Can’t you? Does it not let you hear it sing?”
How can he not? Does he not understand that it was already driving you mad? You wanted it to stop. All that singing, everything you heard and saw, you wanted it to stop. Just stop, stop, stopstopstopstopstopstopstop –
“Perhaps… We are the same.”
“WE’RE NOT THE SAME I’M NOT –!”
“You are a good villain.”
“…me?” You whispered, pressing a hand to your abdomen, feeling something wet and warm. Only for the next second to feel nothing at all. Your vision was crackling, almost like a bad tv connection. You squinted your eyes to look at Byakuran, seeing him still strapped and yet… also with that dark, shuttered look on his face with a tiny pistol in hand. Where had he hidden that? You blinked, and he was gone, back in the chair, watching you.
All you wanted was to (stop the singing) stop the cracking and splintering.
“Oh… maybe we are.”
“We both had our intentions. I think we lost it along the way.”
Kikyo:
He wasn’t certain how he hadn’t seen it before.
It was in your eyes. For all that they sparkled with warmth, there was a deep brewing darkness in there as well.
He could see it now, the madness clinging to you like a second skin. You tried very hard to hide that though, tried to hide the fact something was itching at your skin, a yearning for something that you just couldn’t quite understand, didn’t want to understand until finally –
“You can stop now!” He cried, trying to reason with the person he loved. Gods he did, and it pained him to see you this way. To see you tumbling so far, tittering on an edge he hadn’t even noticed, the same sort of descent that had caught Byakuran as well. It was so easy to see now, something was driving you mad, and Kikyo had ignored it for a long time.
He didn’t want to see. He never wanted to acknowledge that there was something wrong, that you were waking up in the nights in a cold sweat with nightmares still lingering at the visages of your mind. Didn’t want to recall that he knew very well what had started it, what had sparked the tiny flame in your mind until it pounded, shrieking at you with rage.
“It hurts, Kikyo.” You sobbed, nails digging into your hair, pulling and twisting until some started to tear away from your scalp. Your face was red, blotched from so much crying. “It hurts so much!”
He whispered soothingly to you, pressing a cold hand to your forehand, feeling the heat radiating off of your skin, but also the harsh pounding of what seemed to be a migraine. He didn’t notice, at the freshly burned tips of your hands, a strange gold shimmer sizzled at the air before retreating back underneath the skin.
“Oh, honey,” You said, that sweet tone almost condescending before your lips curved up into a bare-toothed smile. “I’ve barely even started!”
There was so much screaming.
It wasn’t being drowned out by the music, no matter how much you hummed along with the song, dancing around the room with barely any coordination. You ignored the blood, the darkness descending, all those screams slowly dying away.
You twirled and pointed towards a guard, a young Mist. He wasn’t anything special, small and still with baby fat on his skin. But he was a very vicious Mist, and abysmally loyal to you. Kikyo never knew how the two of you had met, always waving off the explanation as something that just didn’t matter. It wasn’t important, you had insisted, only that the Mist was now a constant companion.
“Listen to all that! Do you hear it?” You cupped your ear as if trying to listen as well, lips curving into a wide smile. “Nothing!”
You shook your hips, ready to dance again before the Mist spoke up, a frown on his face. “There’s still someone who survived, boss.” He didn’t seem pleased by that, glancing at the machines against the wall, the controls that were meant to have committed a mass genocide on a famiglia that hadn’t been particularly pleasant. He recalled that the boss had come to visit the Gesso territory for an alliance, but he wasn’t a very generous man. In fact, he had been quite rude.
The man must have tried to take over the small territory you had acquired, not realizing there were not fish but sharks waiting for a meal. And a very petty boss who really hadn’t liked his hair.
You looked at the Mist in confusion before muting the music, straining your ears to hear.
Kikyo could hear it too, an almost muffled crying in the deafening silence. It sounded like a woman, and from what he could feel of the distressed flames, a Lightening. You mumbled, surprise colouring your voice on how the person had survived. They were not a very strong Lightening, and yet they had protected themselves soundly against the carnage. You thought before you shrugged, telling the Mst to let the survivor go.
“And give them some sweets, won’t you? Byakuran always said sweets make the world go ‘round!”
Kikyo couldn’t help but openly stare.
“How can anyone kill so much?” You asked, eyes tiredly glancing at him, dazed though they were, but more aware than they had been for a while now. “How can they slaughter millions?”
He pondered the question. Wondering why it was interesting you. For the longest time, you had simply been staring at the window, watching as a bird flew from its nest and the leaves of the trees fluttered, clouds moving at a leisurely pace through the sky.
“Because… Because once in a while, on a whim, you happen to be kind.” He answered. Sometimes it was the only way to do so, to make a compromise on all the lives that are taken.
Your eyes narrowed accusingly, “Only a killer would know that.”
Is this how you would justify yourself? Justify all the lives you were taking, all the wrong you were doing? Byakuran had been there once, and he regretted it every day. Oh, he couldn’t make up for the lives that were lost, but he could do better in the future, and he did. Every day he did so, perhaps not noticeably, but it was there in his actions.
Byakuran was doing better to not be the man Sawada Tsunayoshi had killed.
How much blood must be spilt until you realize that yourself?
“For god’s sake,” Kikyo pleaded, voice cracking with emotion, “will you stop?”
He was begging, he knew. But damned if he didn’t want to save you because… because if you continued the way you are, you would die. No one wanted another dictator, a ruthless person who would destroy millions of lives. Byakuran had been bad enough, with the Mare Ring he had countless examples of making it work, on how to rule the world as he wished. No one wanted it, and they would see the end of you as soon as possible.
It was a miracle that you had lasted thus far, twisting around from underneath the radar, gathering and managing your own little army.
Kikyo had never once thought you capable. Well, at least until now.
“Listen… won’t you listen, Kikyo?” You whispered, “All that singing. It’s so beautiful. But it drives me mad.”
You were humming a song. Kikyo had never heard it before, but he found it oddly pleasing. The way your voice dipped low before rising back up in tandem, emotions and things he just couldn’t quite put into words. It felt giddy. It felt sad. It felt like the morning sun when it drifted past the mountains. It felt like the moon when it drifted away from the sky. It felt like everything and nothing, and Kikyo couldn’t help but stop to listen.
It wasn’t until you winced, twisting sharply, unsteadily on your feet did he shake himself from the melody. You were folded on the ground, gasping for breath and trembling so badly that he could hear the bones rattling.
He was quick on his feet, taking you gently into his hold, trying to soothe you from your sudden boast of pain.
He wondered when the healers would understand why your body ached as it did, why your head pounded without reason. Yet no matter how many times they searched, nothing ever came up. All that could be done was to ride the pain out, even as their eyes suggested it might be something your own mind had made up.
“It will stop. Yes. One day.”
Xanxus:
You were not fighting the chains. In fact, you were not fighting at all.
You simply sat there, staring at the air as if it were the most interesting thing in the world.
Xanxus wasn’t certain when it had happened. But he knew very well when it had stopped.
So much carnage, it could have been avoided if you hadn’t insisted on fighting, on refusing to back down from whatever cause had made you rise up and bury your hands deep into the underworld. There were many webs you had placed, many words that had been given from your lips, twisting and insuring many saw your worldview.
You wanted a Paradise.
But that was just a concept.
You wanted peace. You wanted silence, you wanted so many things that Xanxus couldn’t quite understand when it began. You wouldn’t speak to him, you refused to speak to anyone.
Xanus wondered if perhaps you were a partial Sun since the scars and nerve damage that was inflicted upon you were no more. In fact, you looked physically, right as rain.
He could not say the same for your mind though. In fact, you seemed to drift away from the world, listening to something else, playing with the thought that you were not in the lowest levels of the Varia prison as per Decimo’s orders, but somewhere else entirely. Not even aware, that this would be your last hour… you would die.
You suddenly blinked, rapidly, as if trying to wake up from a dream. Your eyes drifted to him, and you smiled. It was that same smile you would give when you welcome him home, the kind that felt so warm, like sunlight on his skin. Yet now it made his stomach twist, and Xanxus scowled. He wondered if you would still give that smile during your execution, the smile he wondered now if it were true or not.
Xanus turned away and left, disappearing from your sight.
Your smile faltered, and you looked down. Yet for a moment there was gold in your eyes.
Hibari:
“Who the hell are you?” He demanded, wanting to know, to understand how it had all gone wrong.
You stared at him, bruised, beaten, and yet still you stared back defiantly. “I am a winner.” You told him as if it were the most sensible thing in the world.
And perhaps you were. Perhaps you were a winner. You certainly, won many battles. You won many lives, stole them away, snuffed them out like nothing. You played with so many people’s lives… and he never even noticed. How could he not have noticed what you were doing?
“Your people are dead. I watched it happen, I made it happen!”
His jaw was tensed, and he could feel the anger, the desperation in his chest, wanting to understand. That’s all, just to understand. “Why did you do this? Why would you do this at all?” You just didn’t seem capable of it. You just didn’t seem the type.
“Why don’t you just DIE!?”
Even now you looked so small, skin pale and eyes marked by lack of sleep.
It felt like a horrible nightmare. He should be waking up, shouldn’t he? Before you were to die, before he had to see it, watch as they tortured you, thinning your sanity to almost nothing. Yet still, you held on, stubbornly, eyes sharp and smile defiant, sure of yourself as if you were not about to die as if your choices hadn’t caused so much pain.
“I wanted it to stop.”
Stop… stop what?
“I wanted it to end. That’s all.” You gave a tiny shrug. You then glanced at his watch, gaze intense. In the silence, he could even hear the ticking of the watch, seconds passing by without pause. Your smile was pleased, and Kyoya couldn’t quite understand…
He blinked, and Kyoya was in an empty room. There was no you anymore. Only the remnants of what had been. He remembered it very well. He knew that you were gone, yet this room still echoed with you. Of a shade that never quite passed on.
The room wasn’t used anymore because of it.
It seemed superstitious, but, many within Vongola would whisper…
“Oh…” You murmured, blinking blearily up at the ceiling, with wonder on your lips.
“It’s…stopped…” You were not perturbed or in fear of dying. In fact, you felt content, accepting of what would be. You had known, after all, for a long time that you would die, never knowing how, or even why. Just that it would be soon, the whispers assuring they would sing you to sleep. But you couldn’t hear them, couldn’t hear anything, didn’t see anything anymore.
Your mind felt strangely empty. But it was yours once more.
Your vision was swimming with tears, and you sobbed, “It’s stopped… it’s finally stopped! The noise in my head…” And you drifted with the thought until there was nothing left. Not even another breath… just the sight of open eyes and a thank you left abandoned on your lips.
They would whisper they could hear a song.

"-Again."
 "-Again."
 "-Again."
 "-Agai-"
"-If you say again one more time I'm going to explode." Came the voice of your boyfriend, the sound amplified as it filtered through the Mic and into the dimly lit producing booth you currently occupied.
You could understand his frustration. It was slowly going on 3am and you add been making him repeat the second half of his part in the third verse for a good ten to fifteen minutes, constantly interrupting when you deemed it necessary for a retake.
You rolled your eyes, pressing down your finger on the com button so that your voice filled the space behind the glass that currently separated you. "You're the one who wanted to make a song together Jaebummie and you knew well in advance how I operate."
You had been a music producer at JYP for years now, after being one of the few trainees who auditioned for the position and actually was hired. You had also worked on many of the most successful singles to come out of the entertainment company, songs like 'TT' by Twice that was a monster of a bit and GOT7's 'Never Ever.' That's where you had truly had gotten to know your boyfriend who was currently glaring at you from behind the glass. Of course, you both knew of each other from working in the same company for so long and having mutual friends, but you had only gotten to know each other during that time.
But while you had worked on the track, you had only assisted during the actual recording so this was the first time that he was in a session that you were leading entirely. And while he knew of your perfectionist attitude as it translated into your daily life, it seemed that he hadn't fully grasped just how ready you were to keep you both there all night until you were happy with it. You had warned him that you weren't going to compromise because of your relationship and he had simply brushed it off, eager to start on the project he had been nagging you for, for weeks after he had spent one too many times listening to some of your samples and base tracks. While he himself was no stranger to producing, he had always been fascinated by your ear for music and personal flourish that made most of the projects you touched instant hits.
"Just one more time Jae, and then I promise we're finished." You attempted to coax, putting on a pretty smile and bat of your eyelashes.
He simply scoffed but never the less slipped back on the headset. You started up the track to the right time and leaned back as he prepared to sing. Listening carefully for the correct flourishes and pronunciation that you wanted. The song cut off as did his voice, and you looked up from your notes to see him staring at you expectantly.
"Up to your standards then?"
You simply raised your shoulders, a coy smile threatening to curl at the edges of your lips. "It'll have to do. You can come out now."
There was a distinct huff that came through the Mic before you turned off the com and begun to resemble yourself as you finally prepared to leave. It wasn't that you tried to be a bitch. It was just who you were and one of the reasons why you had been able to accomplish what you had in your life. It had not been easy by any means to get yourself taken seriously as a music producer in the beginning and you had had to fight tooth and nail to get you to where you are simply due to age and being a gender which still remained unfavoured when it came to music producing.
You were a perfectionist and a borderline control freak which usually made you a pretty unlikeable person. There was also the fact that you were entirely dedicated to your just above almost everything else that had always made getting into relationships, whether platonic or romantic, rather difficult as most people rarely put up with someone who would rather stay holed up in their studio for days then replying to text messages or going outside even. You also were known to be quite harsh in your search for basic perfection and there was also your fundamentally standoffish personality. And yet, despite all these things, Im Jaebum had decided that he found you charming enough to want to date and you had found him tolerable enough to do the same. Almost 18 months later here you were.
"I should put Yugyeom in here with you, maybe then he'll stop complaining anytime I make him repeat a verse," Jaebum stated offhandedly as he entered in the sound booth area, making his way to settle in the chair next to you as he had noticed that you had favoured rerunning through the song opposed to getting fully ready to return to your apartment. "But I can't say anything; you definitely know your shit."
"Thanks," You mused, listening for any lasting imperfections for the umpteenth time that day. You had started working on this track a day or so ago, having finalised the instrumental and most of the lyrics to the point that all Jaebum would have to do is add the vocals and any lyrical choices of his own. Being in the industry had taught you both to move at an incredible pace with your own side projects being no exception.
 "Ready to head home?"
You let out a non-committal hum, no longer focusing on the world around you as your mind drifted. "I just remembered there's this track Hui wanted me to smooth over that I never got around to doing."
"Good lord," Jaebum exclaimed, exasperation saturating his tone. "You cannot start anything right now. It is almost 3 and you have been up for nearly 24 hours. If you keep it any longer your eyes will literally pop out of your skull."
"Sounds fun," You stated offhandedly, now fully immersed in your own swirling brain. "I bet you I could have it done by 7."
"And die in the process?" Jaebum scoffed, pulling himself from the chair in a motion to leave. "I thought I was meant to be the tsundere one.”
“Please, that trifle you call angst is just a fraction of what I possess, so watch out,” You stated pointedly, making a flare gesture to yourself, “Because if your fans ever catch a sight of this; they’re mine.”
“Yes, yes, you’re very angsty dear.” He cooed mockingly like some patronizing grandmother causing you to scowl, “Now let’s get out of here, I’m already dead on my feet as it is.”
“But, but- the song, music, creativity,” You rambled pitifully, turning to pout and display your most endearing set of puppy dog eyes. “Just five more minutes, pwease?”
Jaebum physically cringed at the overwhelming sweetness and babyish texture of your voice, “Please, go back to being angsty that was the most disgusting thing I’ve ever heard.”
Taking this as a cue to go farther you suddenly were springing up from your chair, performing an impromptu display of the many different ageyo expressions you had watched idols do for years. “Please, I really want to finish this song. I promise I’ll love you forever,” And just to finish it off you ended with a small whine as you jutted out your bottom lip and hung on his arm, the cherry on top being the finger heart you shot over in his direction.
“I think I’m actually going to be sick,” He gaped, face covered in nothing but pure distaste and disbelief, “You’ve officially lost it, we’re going home.”
You abandoned your posture at that, falling back into your usual stance of indifference as you regained your composure, letting out a dissatisfied sound as you did, “All that work; just to be rejected. I guess it’s true, boys are only into what’s chic these days and when a girl shows her true emotions, they simply push them aside. I thought society had moved past this, but alas,” You let out a sorrowful sigh, “We have not.”
“If that was a true display of your emotions; we need to break up,” Jaebum stated plainly moving even closure to the door causing you to wonder if he had realised that the most movement you had made to leave was stand up from your chair. “Now can we please go, I want to at least get some form of sleep before you wake me up to no doubt re-do the second verse or maybe even the entire song.”
“Perfect idea,” You exclaimed, “You go home, I stay here. I’ll call you at 10 and we can go on from there, sorted. See you tomorrow!”
There was a loud groan and a muffled bang as Jaebum all but slammed his head into the door he was in the process of opening out of what you could only assume was frustration, he then turned back to you, “Fuck man, you are so insufferable sometimes. You are not a robot, you need to sleep-”
“-Sleep,” You dismissed, “Sleep is for the weak. I’m not even tired yet, so all that would happen would be that we would get home, you would pass out and I’d just lie there, all night, fixating on the work I should be doing. I’ll sleep when this is do-”
“-more like when you’re dead if you keep this up.” Dammit. You had done it now. Gone was the majority of the playfulness that up until this point that guided your conversation. You overworking yourself was a common topic of your conversation ever since a few months back where you had suddenly passed out after leaving a recording session at 3 am. Jaebum had been near furious to find out that it was mainly due to the fact that you hadn’t slept for two days and had eaten maybe half a meal during the same time period.
You wanted to say that he couldn’t say shit because there were times when he was injured or fatigued and he still performed, but he simply argued that at least he took care of himself enough that he could actually manage those performances without flaking out. Yeah, it was a touchy subject.
“Jae,” You started, softer now with the sudden change of tone, “I really think that even if I tried, I wouldn’t get any sleep right now and you know how much I hate that, just lying there when there’s something better I could be doing. I know what you’re saying is valid and you know better than anyone that I’ve been doing better, so just this once; let me stay here and then I promise I’ll sleep all of Saturday just for you.”
There was a beat of silence and then Jaebum was dropping down his bag and sighing, making his way over to you just in time for you catch an interesting flicker of something in his feline edged eyes, “Why don’t we rather do something else that I know will tire you out and then we can go home and then you can come back?”
“And what would this something else be?” You replied, now understanding the shift in his tone as you realised that you had been backed up so that you were now pressed against the desk behind you.
There was a twitch of something between coy and satisfaction at the corners of his lips as Jaebum leaned closer so that his mouth was up against your ear, giving him the access to nip the skin. “Maybe you’ll just have to figure that out for yourself.”
You wanted to laugh at the blatant seduction in his voice but any noise that could have possibly been wanting to come out quickly evaporated as Jaebum crushed his lips against yours, teeth and tongue instantly added to mix as soon as you parted your lips. Jaebum further nestled himself into the spot between your legs, hands gripping every part of your clothed frame with just enough pressure to set you all on fire. You pulled yourself closer so that your forms were pulled together so with each one of your movements you could perfectly full every ridge of him, lazily licking and biting at his mouth as your hands travelled south so that you were roughly grabbing his ass to further push him into you.
A distinct hiss left his lips as you grinded up into him, the friction a delicious mixture of pleasure and denial, “Fuck, you really are something.”
You simply hummed in answer, taking his moment of weakness to not only spread your lips over the expanse of his exposed neck but also push the bomber jacket from his shoulders so that only a thin shirt remained. “You’re the one who offered,” You reminded while you nipped at his collar bones, “So don’t flake out on me now.”
He couldn’t answer straight away as you twist your hips up, having to regain himself before he could. “I’m not flaking, just stating the facts.”
“Then I take the compliment and raise you one,” You chortled happily, wandering fingers making their way to grasp at his belt. “Or rather, you can raise one.”
An actual laugh escaped his lips, a breathy one as you made your way to cup him in your hands, but still a laugh before he was removing himself from you for a moment, “You sure know how to just sneak in those innuendos don’t you?”
“It’s a talent,” You shrugged while making quick work of kicking off your shoes and discarding your sweater, exposing your chest instantly to the chilly sound booth thanks to your lack of bra. “But while it is one of many, patience is not, so if we could get on with this whole ‘tiring me out thing’ I’d very much appreciate it.”
Your words seemed to knock the sense that Jaebum seemed to lose at the sight of your fully bare chest. In your opinion, there was not a lot to look at, but apparently, it was one of Im Jaebum’s many things, and who were you to judge? He moved like lightning, freeing himself from his shirt and latching himself back to your body by way of your neck within a few seconds of each other. You let out an overly satisfied sound as the heat that radiated from his body made contact with you, an even more pampered noise escaping when a warm hand clamped down on your right breast, nimble fingers further stimulating your nipple that had already become perked due to the contrast of temperature.
His tongue trailed down your neck, teeth sometimes joining so that a kaleidoscope of sensation greeted you with each ministration. He only stopped when he reached the left side of your chest that had seemed neglected until then, his breath stuttering for just a moment as you continued to twist your clothed core up into his. You let out a soft gasp when his mouth finally came into contact with your nipple, there being no time to recover was his other hand pinched down on your other one.
“Shit,” You cursed while tossing your head back, keeping yourself stable by pushing back on the desk space behind you to keep you stable. There was a nip at the sensitive flesh that you could only imagine was overly red due to his ministrations. “Jae.”
He perked up at the sound of his nickname, a look of pure satisfaction and mischief in his eyes as he gazed up at you, “Yes? You okay up there?”
You let out a frustrated huff, the sound finishing over as a stunted whine when he decided that now was the appropriate time to give you a small flick. “Can we skip this part already? I know it’s like, a thing, but I currently need a different thing if you get what I mean.”
You were answered with a noncommittal hum and a kiss to the side that had once been occupied by his left hand, “I don’t know, I think you may have to be more specific. I mean, how am I meant to successfully tire you out if I don’t know what you want?”
There was a shriek when he sunk his teeth down and suddenly all of your inhibitions were gone and you were thrusting up your hips, “If you don’t fuck me this fucking instant I swear to god Jaebum I will get myself off right here, right now and make you watch.”
That seemed to knock some sense into him, especially as he knew you were perfectly capable of going through with any and all threats. There had been this one time when he had attempted to distract you from your work for a good two hours because he was horny and wanted attention even though you had a deadline. Simply put, he never tried that ever again.
The memory of that torturous night was probably one of the things that set him into instant motion, making quick work of helping you lift yourself up enough to take off your leggings before doing the same to his own jeans, though it seemed he was slightly too eager to even finish the job as he regained his spacing as soon as they were far enough down his thighs so that he could push down his underwear. You understood why the mere thought of not being able to finish what he had started and made him act so quickly when you saw the sight of his cock, incredibly hard and dripping precum. You had seen his dick enough times to not be surprised by it anymore but that didn’t mean that you didn’t take the time to admire it, not that that’s what you were doing right now, right now you were more frustrated by the fact that you could still see it and it wasn’t inside of your rather than how unnaturally pretty it was.
He didn’t waste any time either, cloaking your body with his own, mouth mashing against your own as you felt the all too familiar, yet still exhilarating feeling of his head lined up to your thoroughly sopping entrance. Even though it had barely been a day since the last time you had fucked, it felt like you hadn’t felt his body this close to your own in months. That feeling was quickly extinguished when he slid into you, the stretch welcomed as you both moaned in content.
“Fuck yes,” You sighed in satisfaction, rotating your hips in appreciation of the filling sensation.
Jaebum pressed an overly mushy kiss to your lips before he begun to move, each thrust making you both more riled up and sedated, his empty hand that wasn’t busy keeping your leg up to allow better access, sneaking in between your bodies to latch onto your swollen clit.
You clenched at the added stimulation causing him to groan, “Fuck, you feel fucking amazing.”
“Thanks,” You hummed, clenching down again as your eyes fought to not flutter closed. You enjoyed seeing Jaebum like this, sweat beginning to drip from his dark hair, face flushed with exertion, not to mention basically naked.
“Stop that,” He berated as you tightened yet again, “This is about you if you keep doing that there’s not going to be much of me left.”
“Sorry,” You apologised though it lost its sincerity when you pressed down again causing him to glare at you and press down harder on your clit in retaliation causing you to unleash a loud curse as you threw your head back. There was a twist in your stomach that you knew all too well, the sensation sending shocks through your body. “Fuck.”
“Seems like I won’t have to hold on for that much longer,” Jaebum chortled while slamming back into you causing you to let out an almost shriek.
He was right though, you could see your finish line, the race coming to an end with each twist of his thumb and slam of his hips. Then there was an intruder at your already full entrance and you arched from the table as Jaebum slipped in another finger alongside his dick, successfully stealing the air from your very beginning. You were completely speechless at the sudden sensation that was only amplified by the finger both in you and the one of your clit.
“Fuck, fuck, fuck,” You repeated like a mantra before you were cumming, clamping down on Jaebum with an additional tightness thanks to the extra component which sent him spiralling.
Heavy breathing filled the sound booth, sounding as pleasant to you as many of the songs that had been produced in the very same space. You were thoroughly satisfied and there was an overwhelming sense of numbing exhaustion taking over your very being. Jaebum regained his strength before you did, moving you both to the couch after pulling out, he set you down in a lying position before he went off to find something to clean you off with.
“You tired enough to go home no-” Jaebum begun as he returned with a cloth after having to put on his clothes to go retrieve one, only to be met with you already passed out on the couch, having obviously used the last of your strength to grab for his discarded jacket to cover yourself. He let out a laugh at the endearing sight of your innocent expression as you slept peacefully, muttering himself as he made his way over to you, “Tsundere indeed.”
