I agree, whatever was the reason of their fight, tincho needs to take it more personally. Maybe at the time martin pretended to be fine with luciano saying their night wasnt special and wouldnt happen again, he heard that before for sure. So he pretends he's find and don't mind, and that theyre still somewhat friends - even though they barely talked after. But the bitterness in him just grows and grows and by time luciano comes back to court his sister, all that bitterness wakes up on him at once. I still think its not DRAMA enough but idk i'm having a hard time thinking of said drama lol

Thinking here on lulu's daddy issues, i think we could maybe go on the opposite direction of bridgerton: his father wasnt super strict and demanding, but was a little too liberal - because he was rarely around anyway. He traveled a lot and was always doing his thing, so lulu felt both very alone and kinda too good at being alone. And that plus his low self esteem makes him think he'd be such a terrible father and husband he's really doing a favor to his could-be wife and children by never marrying. And also in a more practical away, maybe he does want love like martin does, just not in the way society expect - some respectable noble girl he needs to marry - and has very little patience to all these girls trying to convince him to like them - not because they actually like him, but because he's a duke and they're trying to fulfill their duty of getting a good marriage. He's skeptical of finding love like this, specially one worth marrying and staying with for all his life.

And in the topic of lulu's family, i'd like to suggest Zola as lady Danbury. A young version of her perhaps (i see her around her 40s or 50s maybe, just a very pretty and elegant milf), but a close friend of Lulu who knows him since he was a kid, and now she throws a lot of balls and parties and play games, a very lively charming figure living off her dead dead husband's money and playing matchmaker around. I think nyo port would also work as lady Danbury, but i just like zola throwing parties for some reason lol

Hahah, i love manu spotting tincho's crush before he does. Does she know about his past with the duke? Or maybe he told her the story without the names but she connects the dots? Either way, i love it, and her following erotica that just scandalizes tincho, what a traitor!! Luciano isnt that charming and sexy and handsome and smart and good in bed and- Anyway, this erotica is full of LIES

And yes i like manu as lady whistledown - specially with her tormenting tincho anonymously - but i have a hard time seeing her as a sociable person. Either way, i think we can leave it at that - she has her means, she has tincho and other friends and other contacts, and knowing what she knows she might also bribe other nobles to get more information - all anonymously.

OK BUT THE PRESENT i started to rewatch brigderton for more ideas and I'd like to take our attentions to the main not-couple, Luciano and Tiana. I like to they start very similarly to the simon and daphne, they dont quite hit it off at first, until tiana punches an unwanted suitor martin had insisted she would marry, and luciano, trying to come to her rescue, finds her and they make their little arrangement. I think tiana was the one to suggest it, and it works wonders for what they wanted - she gains many suitors and luciano gets some peace from all the matchmakers. They spend more time together, negotiate the terms of their agreement (how many balls they must attend together, flowers, etc) and end up having a great time around each other. Everyone can see when they dance and talk and walk together that they're having fun, which infuriates martin even more because he thinks the two might actually be falling in love. I'd go as far as to say something akin of a crush happened, but it never became more than that as in the original series, but eventually it dissipates and their relationship easily developed into a close friendship. Maybe later on Tiana is even the person Luciano goes after to talk about martin

Maybe something we can discuss on brarg Sunday if you want but I’m sending the ask now anyway because I don’t want to forget: rereading my fic made me remember that brigerton AU with Luciano and Tiana fake dating and Martin being very against what seemed like a good marriage for his sister, because of his secret past history with lulu, and I’m just thinking that would be a great au to expand someday 👀

It’s a very fun AU I’d love to turn back to actually! I sadly don’t have much more than I already share with the world, but I wouldn’t mind building up the AU as a community~

For the brarg backstory I kinda had this idea that Martín and Luciano idk maybe went to the same school? College? Idk but they had their rivalry and a very intense UST that maybe lead to one kiss/night of passion that left them very conflicted and confused about their feelings. They didn’t talk about it, just parted ways and thought “Well at least I won’t ever see his annoying gorgeous face ever again so I won’t have to think about this again!”. Except not :)

I also have this vague idea of Fem!Chile being Martín’s BFF. Manu is a broke lesbian defying society’s expectations on women, refusing to marry a man, living by her own, providing for herself. She writes the most beautiful love poems, but nobody wants to buy them ‘cause well she’s a woman and people don’t respect her as a writer even if she’s brilliant. So she makes a living out of gossip columns and erotica. Her source for both is Tinchito, who spills all of high class’ scandals and rumours for her to publish, and who also shamelessly shares his gay affairs with her as she takes notes so she can then sell them to horny high class women who are very into this mysterious writer’s scandalous sexy homoerotica.

Tincho likes to crash at her place (a little lowlife apartment) to hang and drink and smoke and be unapologetically gay together. He has read every piece of erotica featuring him that Manu has ever written, and usually gives her an earful if she portrays him as anything less but utterly charming. He has also read her poems and is a fan of those too, but he plays aloof cause he wants to keep his cool which is pointless since Manu already knows he is a hopeless romantic.
