my personal Rhythm Heaven headcanons
•at the moment i started typing this i had no electricity (12/4/2023 15:29) but ok lol
-DJ Yellow is very good at practically all subjects at school, except for math. he sleeps most of the year, so he has to intensify his grades in 2 weeks before the school year ends, and math is a pain. so while he studies, he asks Blue for help with "Whatever an ecuation is..." (still learning stuff from high school because he never intensified his math grades that much)
-J.J and Cecil live together in an apartment in Tokyo, while DJ Yellow and Blue live together in another apartment somewhere 40 minutes away from Tokyo. this makes both DJs wake up earlier to catch the train to get to school, which is a hard task for Yellow. this man either goes to sleep at 6am or doesn't sleeps at all. how do you want him to be at the train station at 6:10am to catch the train, travel for 40 minutes, get to Tokyo at 6:50am and walk to school to get there at 7:15am? think again mister, that's not a possible action on this dude. better wait until the update comes. /lh
-DJ Yellow dresses up with whatever he wants. this includes skirts, dresses, all kinds of feminine clothes. because why not? it's his gender expression, let him be, brother. don't be surprised if he shows up at a convention dressed up as Rui Kamishiro and in day 2 he is cosplaying Hatsune Miku NT. while he's happy then it's okay, isn't it?
-important headcanon: the school everyone in Rhythm Heaven +my RH ocs go to is an all-in-one school. from primary school to college, university, everything. so yeah, they're technically adults, young adults, that even if they have a job they go to school to learn basics such as math, history, etc, BUT with rhythm. there's an interesting story about this school that is located in, SURPRISE, Tokyo (not really. all fictional), but today is not the day or time to talk about it (my 4g data is limited and so is my battery- plz electricity come back quick)
-DJ Yellow's favourite music artists, groups and bands are: More!More!Jump!, Wonderlands x Showtime, Steampianist, Hello, Happy World!; RAISE A SUILEN, Raychell, Skrillex, Mitchie M, Pastel*Palettes, Nightcord at 25:00, MARETU, DECO*27, Eve, Vivid BAD Squad, Alan Walker, all of the D4DJ groups but specially Happy Around!, all of the Heathers Musical songs, Kawaii Sprite, GHOST And Pals, Banshee, RudyWade, Goreshit and, most importantly, an 80% of remixes of the Monster song (you look up Monster remix and you tell me when you know what i'm talking about)
-Blue's favourites: Cuarteto de Nos, GHOST And Pals, Daisuke-P, Omoi, Kikuo, Jakeneutron, KairikiBear, Roselia, Steampianist, Nayutailen, TOPHAMHAT-KYO, Lemon Demon, FAKE TYPE., girl in red and The Living Tombstone
-J.J and Cecil have similar taste in music, such as last note., wowaka, Wind Rose, Lemon Demon, Afterglow, Roselia, Leo/Need, The GazettE, GOLDEN BOMBER, HACHI... but Cecil is a bit different on his playlists, since he has Bluey music added such as Keepy Uppy and Lollipop Yum Yum Yum, and maybe some Imagination Movers music
-everyone speaks japanese and english, buuuuuut: Yellow speaks spanish (Spanish, Mexican, Colombian, neutral, Chilenian and Argentine accent), he's learning French and is interested in Hawaiian. Blue speaks Indonesian more fluently than Japanese or English, since he was born and raised his first 7 years of life in Indonesia. J.J speaks Italian, which is his 'original' language (?). and Cecil knows a bit of French and Hawaiian. super convenient for Yellow, but he's not talking with "one of those guys". yeaaaah the Rockers vs DJs conflict has been going on for a while now
thats all i can share as for now. i really wish my electricity comes back soon, i cannot live with 4g and less than 80% of battery for a week. remember all of these are headcanons and theres NO NEED to attack or negatively criticize them if you don't like em. tenkius :P

I also created my personalized playlists of songs that inspire me, I spent hours listening to it although the ads were very annoying. My best friend is the only one I'm very close with aside from my family. We drew fictional characters together and even other arts that inspire us. Our drawings were colorful and full of life! He played the guitar and I sang! Our bond is so strong and I hope it will stay like this. On the other hand, I tried to challenge myself by stimulating my mind by playing, sudoku, riddles and puzzles. Watched some podcasts about true crimes and science. It is interesting investigating those kinds of things. Another one, when my markers had arrived from the online shop I ordered, I tried learning and practicing calligraphy but it was so hard, I got inspired by my friend who's always doing calligraphy and she made it look easy. I seriously got humbled real quick. It was unexpected. I tried learning calligraphy for another reason because I want my notes to look nice, artistic, and neat. Not just that but also a part of my writing skills. I'm still learning them till now. I drew again but digitally, I'm more into digital than traditional art, although it's ugly but it's part of my progress. I don't care what other people say. Why should I care about what other people say? I bought a journal book for myself and wrote about my day there; it has stickers, photo albums and more. I like making these because I think it is creative and impressive to have a scrapbook, I should say. My sister and I made a "Do It Yourself" (DIY) fashion show with our own wardrobe, it was so funny! My best friend and I went on a star gazing again, but we were on the rooftop of our house. We talked about constellations and zodiac signs. After our star gazing, he decided to have a sleepover and we made a "Do It Yourself" (DIY) movie like, making our own popcorn and snacks and chose our movies. We even built Legos after the movie! We wrote a letter for our loved ones along with my sister and uncle is very sweet and I love that. We even tried learning new languages like Chinese, Spanish or Español etc. And then, my friends and I made our own puppets by using a paper and then we created a puppet show. We also created a paper airplane and flew it around my room. I sure experience a lot of quality time with my friends and family.
To sum up, My semester have never been the best and enjoyable, we only lived once. Enjoy life while we still have time.

DEMYYLWKDKDN how do you feel at the fact that louis added pretender by foo fighters to the tour playlist when u had it first in the songs he should rec playlist!???? i remember listening to it on your playlist and saving it a while ago and now😭
Okay you've just enabled me to go the fuck off about my own playlists.
I had to dig to find what you meant because my spotify library is getting a little insane but yesyesyse I thought you meant the songs louis hasn't recommended yet playlist (post), but The Pretender is in the teardrop and sabotage playlist (post), my lil larrie rage playlist I turn to when shits happening that makes my blood boil.
Ok but for the going the fuck off bit: HE'S RECCED SO MANY OF THIS STUFF SINCE. I love channeling Louis oh my god I'm so excited about this you have no idea (well you probably have a good idea because I keep yellin asdsf). So I was like ok I want a playlist in the likes of Louis' 28 songs and make something I think he'd make, right? So I made this just before his tour started:
And by now of those 28 songs he's recced:
Talking Heads - Road To Nowhere (Change Over playlist)
The Smiths - There Is a Light That Never Goes Out (Change Over playlist)
Pixies - Where Is My Mind (AFH one of three preshow songs / new Tour Bus Playlist)
The Killers - When You Were Young (new Tour Bus Playlist)
Notable mentions:
I also had put in Pulp - Common People in there? HAHA
Sidetrack: Also the DJ at AFH played Common People after Louis' set, which I'm choosing to take as a teaser from Louis himself there. Just throw that out where everyone can hear but nobody knows they should be listening. Perfect. Anyway so post-show it was like: We Are The Champions, followed by the DJ playing I Kissed A Girl x What You Know mashup and then Common People. SIDETRACK: As for that [the DJ playing music], I made a playlist of all songs I picked up in between bands here, which looks like they did get a playlist from louis but also put their own stuff in there, like there's loads coming from his Tour Bus Playlist but also a lot of Spanish songs were played I did not add to the playlist because I didn't know them them. So yeah a mix.
A lot of songs I picked because I know it's artists he listens to, so it's kinda cheating (like it starts off with The Snuts - Glasgow; he basically did rec that one but I mean I just want that song specifically yk), but then The Hives - Tick Tick Boom I plucked out of my own ass and now he's got Hate To Say I Told You So on his tour bus playlist and is playing it pre-show the last 2 shows and I'm just asjkljkslakj yes yes.
Then I had put in Radiohead twice (Lotus Flower, Karma Police), not based on much other than I think it's good and I think he'd think it's good, but all the public rec he had out there so far was just Creep which like doesn't really mean he likes Radiohead... I mean anyone would put Creep in their playlist without specifically listening to Radiohead beyond that, but since he's added Exit Music (For A Film) which has been on my H+L playlist for even longer because of REASONS ok, and Just. So that's some thumbs up there. Similar things with RHCP, Nirvana, Rage Against The Machine, and The Killers but then again. who doesn't. who wouldn't. us early 90s babies we do this shit to our playlists lol next.
Also the Van Morrison - Crazy Love is a funny one, because I put it on there as there's something about Golden that reminds me of Moondance (the album), so I got this other 28369th playlist somewhere I put "influences" besides songs and there's Golden paired with Crazy Love and Moondance, and that was kinda the thought process behind adding it to this rec list? Because I think this is something he tends to do: add songs that are influences behind 1d songs, his own, but also harry's. Because I mean the influences are songs they love and play it makes sense right right. We're just going in circles there. But point is not Crazy Love but Moondance appeared on the Change Over playlist, coolcoolcool.
And then for the Teardrop and sabotage playlist (again find it here and read the description of it before listening lol), which is a lil less BALRARHAHRGH response because it's got a bunch more like 64 songs on there and it wasn't meant like oh im only gonna pick songs he has never shown to like or anything, it's more like a sweet spot between a few songs they've shown to like in some way that fit the theme, some songs they haven't yet but totally would, and a few that I just like (like I'm not expecting a Slipknot rec out there anytime soon although it would be welcomed; I'm very hyped about the Rage Against The Machine and harder Nirvana ones), anyway here are the songs he's put on the Tour Bus Playlist the other day that were also on my larrie anger playlist:
Nirvana - In Bloom
The Vines - Get Free
Foo Fighters - The Pretender
Queens of the Stone Age - No One Knows
Inhaler - It Won't Always Be Like This
Green Day - American Idiot (Change Over)
(there's a bunch more songs that are in both playlists but I'm not gonna list them as they were already in his playlist when I created mine and so I'd again just be going in circles)
With most of these im going well yeah of course but then The Vines - Get Free I am once again aslkdjsaklj yes yes. yk?
(forever using @swimmingleo's drawing of @ialwaysknewyouwerepunk as a meme; actually i should do it with part 3)
.....that's enough of the LOOK WHAT I GOT RIGHT kinda whatever behavior this is and now for some thoughts, I think it's very interesting the Change Over playlist is very different from the new Tour Bus Playlist and like I've said before it looks to me like the tour bus one is teasing the sound of FITF, while the Change Over is made out of possible feel good singalongs post-show. Although it's interesting he's said in interviews DMAs was a big influence and that one's not on the list. I'm gonna look back on this playlist once FITF is out and see if theres suddenly patterns falling into place like an anagram solving itself lol because it really looks like it's chunks of songs (like 2-7 songs at a time) that sound similar, possibly corresponding to each song on FITF. That also means songs I put on my larrie fuck the system stop it to the ground anger list and songs I think he'd love to recommend are indeed the sounds he's going for on his album which, I can't even tell you how excited that makes me.
#rambling#oh my god that was a fucking ramble i havent done that in a while i mean on the blog at least.

The Sundays-When I'm Thinking About You (Static and Silence-1997)
*Revisited and reposted old entry. Originally posted 2/07*
[Currently: Listening to The Sundays and yearning for their return one day.}[Mood: Melancholic]
It is unbelievable the void I still feel every single time I listen to The Sundays- yes, even now- almost 30 years later. Where are you guys?
...And today I did, indeed, think about you, Harriet. I remember it perfectly. The year was 1997, and my boyfriend had surprised me with tickets to see you, The Sundays, my favorite band of all time. My excitement was such; we arrived an hour before the concert, hoping to catch a glimpse of the four beings who had so blissfully embellished my life with beauty and ethereal melodies for almost eight years.
So an hour later, of what seemed to have lasted an eternity, the lights finally faded out, and one by one Harriet Wheeler, David Gavurin, Patrick Hannan and Paul Brindley appeared on stage. I was ecstatic and aphonic! I never imagined I would get the opportunity to see you play live. But there I was, standing so close to the stage I could feel the heat from the floor stage lights warm up my face and feeling so bloody grateful I almost burst out in excitement.
I will never forget the instant I saw Harrier as she entered the stage from the left, gracefully waving and bowing to her audience. She looked so lovely in her denim overalls and yellow Doc. Martins. Her hair, loosely pinned up into a French twist, reminded me of the many pictures I had seen of her in the past. Her familiar resemblance to the Harriet in photographs made the experience a delightful surreal moment worthy of being immortalized by Dalí. No, I was not hallucinating. That was Harriet standing on stage before me. It was truly her.
When the band began to play, and Harriet's voice filled the air with roses, I knew I could finally die and to go Heaven. My purpose in life- I thought back then- had finally been fulfilled. So for almost two hours, I sang along with my Siren, utterly elated by the experience.
After the concert, and with a fulfilled soul to last me a lifetime, I convinced my boyfriend to hang around the premises to see what would happen next. Fans and social media also hung around to chat, conduct interviews, and take photos. We were drifting when all of a sudden, a group of people began to gather by the back door. Surprisingly, it was The Sundays who had reentered the venue. A roar of emotions engulfed the air. People were cheering, screaming, crying tears of disbelief, and joy…and I joined them.
David- “Joy” (Reading, Writing, and Aritmetic-1990)
The first member I encountered was David Gavurin. He asked me what my name was, and that's when I froze. I couldn't utter a single syllable out of my mouth. Gladly, thanks to my boyfriend, who became my spokesman, I was saved from complete embarrassment. The moment David learned about my Hispanic descent, he became intrigued. David led me towards some chairs to sit and engaged in an all Spanish conversation with me- it was surreal! We talked about the places he and Harriet had visited; how he loved to speak Spanish, and how grateful they were to be on tour. But he also wanted to know about me, my background, my experiences, and my perspective of American life from a Hispanic standpoint. I mean, what a joy of a man! Then, to make things even better, David called Harriet to come to meet me.
Harriet- “She” (Static and Silence-1997)
If I had not fully liquefied when David spoke to me, I know, for a fact, I had turned into vapor by the time Harriet did. David, who stood beside her, had told her about me listening to their tape, non-stop, for an entire year. Delighted and ever so lovely, she gave me a big hug and a smile and signed the playlist I had snatched from the stage: "Thank you for your listening ears. Love, Harriet."
Back to 1989- “My Finest Hour” (Reading, writing, and Arithmetic- 1990)
I discovered The Sundays in 1989 during one of those days I had successfully manipulated my father into giving me some money. That afternoon after school, I decided to go to Bayside for my usual afternoon walk and, as usual, I ended up at the record store. While browsing through tapes, I came across a grey and black cover with fossils on it. The name of the band was The Sundays, and the album was entitled: "Reading, Writing, and Arithmetic." I didn't know who they were or what genre they sand, but I liked the cover, so I purchased the tape.
Beginnings- “Here's Where the Story Ends” (Reading, Writing and Arithmetic- 1990)
…And where The Sundays began. Like many other great bands, The Sundays had their start in Manchester, New England with vocalist Harriet Wheeler and guitarist David Gavurin. They both met while studying at Bristol University and began writing songs. In 1988, they were asked to perform at the "Vertigo Club" in Camden, London. It was their first concert, so they added drummer Patrick Hannan and bassist Paul Brindley to their duo- The Sundays were born.
A year later, The Sundays released their first album "Reading, Writing and Arithmetic." Sadly, after its great release, the band went on hiatus. It would take three more years for The Sundays to re-appear.
Hiatus- “Goodbye” (Blind-1992)
In 1992, The Sundays released Blind, their second album. Unlike their first, Blind represented a more mature and adventurous side of the band. The album won gold sales record and gave the group worldwide recognition. However, in spite of all the success, Harriet and Gavurin decided to stay away from the public eye and return to the recording studio. During this time, they married and had their first daughter, Billie. The band's last album (to this date) would be released five years later.
I miss you- “So much” (Static and Silence-1997)
The year was 1997, and I was shopping at Media Play when I heard Harriet's distinctive voice through the store speakers. The melody was unfamiliar, so I thought it was probably yet another singer trying to copy her voice and sound, but then I was sure it was Harriet. I asked around the store and to my amazement found out The Sundays had indeed released a new album, Static and Silence. The track I heard at the store was their single: “When I'm Thinking About You.” Months later, I was in the front row, seeing them live.
“What do you think?” (Blind-1992)
Will they ever return? It's been almost 10 years since the release of Static and Silence, and there is still no indication The Sundays will ever delight us with their music ever again. Whatever the future has in store there is one thing I know for sure: The Sundays will remain my most favorite, most beloved band. In my heart, their music will forever resonate!
To you, Harriet, David, Paul, and Patrick, wherever you are.
I love you!
(It is 2019, and I still miss you)
