Sees them half awake at the fire and tucks them in or occupies them with chatter when left at camp. Also feels like he’d notice if they weren’t sleeping. Whether cause of bad dreams (or the closest childhood approximate for an elf) or because they are reading. His title of daddy Halsin popping up early cause the man he is. Except of course, that Reith already has a dad. So Halsin ends up Papa Halsin instead. Pa bear, if you will
