Day 6: Draping on the Stand A tool which is key to my work is a stand or mannequin. After the first sampling sessions have happened , draping on the stand is a great opportunity to see what the knitted fabric will look like on the body. As my yarns are all plant based, the fabrics tend to be soft and follow the shape of one’s silhouette . However , it is very important for me to make sure that the garments also have a neutral feel to them so that they can easily been worn by anyone . When draping on the stand, I particularly look at: ♾scale of motif🔘 ♾Stitching and/or jacquard placement ♾ Collar designs ♾ Finishing details🧵 ♾ Would I wear it? Would the people around me wear it?🧐 This is a great opportunity to visualise the final product ! It is an exciting part of the sampling process and provides endless possibilities! . . . . . #day6 #10dayschallenge #tools #mypractice #knitweardesign #veganfashion #naturalfibres #localproduct #madeinthemidlands #nottinghambusiness #nottinghambusinesswomen #vegannottingham #crueltyfreefashion #sustainableknitwear #maglieriavegana #natureatheart (at Nottingham, United Kingdom) https://www.instagram.com/p/CCvnWn4F-wA/?igshid=m0llks6it6wn
