New character!! Kinda. More developed, at least ahaha. Midge, my hexblood gal, will get to be a guest character in my husband's long-running campaign :D They just traveled to the feywilds, so it is the perfect opportunity.
But, seeing as I have other things going on and they change what day they meet every week, there's every likelihood I can only make it like once a month. The DM still wanted me to come (there are times when only two out of 5 players can make it, so having extra fill-ins was their goal), so we cursed her xD
Poor Midge (Mildred, actually -- short for Mildew and Dread) here tried to escape her hag-mother (she was traded to a hag by her parents before she was born, so she was being raised to become a hag herself) so that she could become a famous bard in the material plane while disguising herself as a cute half-elf... but hag-mom caught her and punished her by trapping her in a wooden toad figurine. Midge was close to the age she could Change into a hag herself, so does have fairly powerful magic of her own, and she is able to channel some of the weird magic of the feywilds to escape the frog at times. Seemingly random times, which coincidentally align with my schedule... :)
Midge isn't able to make decent progress in much of anything with this back-and-forth, so she gets the idea that she will bide her time and wait for adventurers of the like she heard many songs of in the material plane. It wasn't unknown for them to travel to the feywilds, after all -- so she took her frog vessel and cast Magic Mouth upon it, with the trigger of being picked up by a human. So this week the party will pick up her frog statue as a reward for a quest, and her voice will ring through loud and clear that they should carry her with them. They DEFINITELY will trust a talking frog statue, right?
Fortunately, since I can be there this week, she'll just pop right out and be able to talk to them and hopefully win them over.
Her goal is to dispell her curse, either by defeating her hag-mom, or finding someone else more powerful who can dispell it. Known only to the DM and myself, though..... we also have the "out" in case I can't play often enough to really have fun with her that she could just give up and decide to become a hag herself. New mini boss fight/betrayal! The drama >:D But she'd probably do it with the idea that she would be a "good" hag, making it sad when the nature of hags takes over.
