I don't want Jason as a declawed version of himself, all 'murder Is Wrong' and part of the batfam, but I also don't want him as an evil 'I blow up schools and shoot people for fun' villain.

I also once saw someone say a big part of the divesiveness here comes from how Robin!Jason and Red Hood!Jason are practically different characters. If you want villainous Red Hood, you make Robin Jason more aggresive, angrier, you make him more like what he'll become as an adult. And if you like Jaybin, you explain his murders and mistakes as side-effects of the pit and make Red Hood nicer and more agreeable, like how he wss before.

But I feel like both are a disservice to his character, but the 2 extremes of him are also really hard to reconcile.

i will say, i enjoyed nosferatu (2024), but i really don't think we need any new adaptations of the basic beats of dracula now (or future adaptations of adaptations of the basic beats of dracula lol). like i think we're done now. we need a faithful carmilla NOW!!!!

Have my current small collection of Aramis sketches. I'll have his blog up in a little bit to be sure but short rundown;

FF16 OC, Aramis Dantes, Dominant of the Lesser Eikon Nidhogg 'Shadow of Bahamut, Sleeping Guardian of Saint Graegor' ;; Once a Dragoon, now excommunicated due to Anabella's lies and then handed to Waloed for peaceful promises. (To the public the lies continued as his 'defection' and 'betrayal'). Spent a few years within Balmung Dark, until uncontrolled priming and escaping. The next handful of years were spent making it back to Storm, learning about his status as a convicted felon and wanted villain, being violently hands on about freeing bearers from servitude, and being a 'terrorist' to Anabella in any way he could. It's not until after the start of the narrative that he properly gives Cid a chance and begins visiting the Hideaway.

Sidenote; It's a bit more complicated than that, and his lore is tied with another character owned by my wife who assists to ground his motivations, and the status of his Eikon does not effect the story narrative and I'll explain that more on his pages as it has spoiler context. --- secondary note is that while Aramis is the Dominant of ‘Nidhogg’; this is not based on the FF14 Characterization, and more accurate to say he is formed around ‘Níðhöggr’ the original Norse mythology and such traits are evident.

Quite genuinely and respectfully, you have no knowledge of how much money it costs to invent things. Nor do you understand that Batman is a comic book character and his wealth is a catch all for his billions upon billions of dollars worth of money. It’s literally just so writers can handwave that he can afford [x] item.

okay, controversial batman opinion time! it ruins the character for him to be a billionaire, and he’s only a billionaire because too many people think ‘billionaire’ just means ‘millionaire but cooler’. bruce wayne should just be a millionaire. 

a millionaire has enough money to buy a batcave, a fancy batmobile, a supercomputer, a bunch of esoteric custom-made tools and toys, a couple companies that make enough money to fund a playboy lifestyle and a bunch of high-tech vigilante superheroes. millionaires today, even with inflation, can commission the creation of pretty much any physical item short of their own spaceship, and some of them can even do that. 

a billionaire has enough money to own entire cities and write their own laws and do whatever the fuck they want basically all the time, anywhere. look at disney, tesla, amazon, nestle, walmart. these guys are playing on an almost inconceivable global scale and they are not your friend. these are lex luthor motherfuckers. 

the question keeps being asked, ‘if bruce wayne is so rich, it’s ridiculous that he’s using all that money to run around in a bat costume punching mentally ill people’, and that’s correct if he’s got money on a billionaire’s scale. it’s absurdly irresponsible to have the kind of power that could change how a nation operates, much less local government, and just play night time punch guy with it. batman is the bad guy there. 

but say batman’s ‘just’ a millionaire. he’s the heir of a couple old money families, he’s got a mansion and some land and a private jet, he’s in with the elite of gotham, he can put some pressure on the mayor and the city council and the police– but he’s still on a level with half a dozen other families who have their own millions to throw around, their own ambitions. he can’t actually fix gotham just by throwing money at it, because he will run out of money before all the other rich guys do. 

in this situation, batman does make sense for bruce wayne to invent: a secret guy no one can pin on wayne industries, who can run around taking on organized crime and supervillains at the same time, who isn’t beholden to the social or legal conventions that the superwealthy also flout to play their fucked up games with each other. batman can actually do what a single millionaire can’t. 

batman gets written by batman fanboys to be a power fantasy, but with great power comes great responsibility, etc. at a certain level of wealth his power far outstrips his purpose, and being batman is actually irresponsible for bruce wayne. a hero’s limitations make for better stories. stop writing batman as a billionaire, already.

Who tf do you think you are. You can't take that from him. You're not allowed.

It's like a switch goes off in his brain, fists shaking as he clenches them and grinds his teeth together, completely forgetting about whoever he's dealing with

"That's not up to you. Sit tight. I'll kill this fucker and deal with you myself." Then crushes whatever communication device he had jammed in his ear in his fist, leaving no room for discussion

After bursting the skull of whoever he was dealing with in between his hands easily, he flicks off whatever innards clung to his hands and his body, leaving the beheaded corpse for someone else and zooming straight back to you.

You're desperately trying to communicate with him any way possible, but with the earpiece gone there was no way— it's fine, he was right behind you anyway.

"You think you're so fucking smart." He mocks, grabbing your jaw and turning you to him. "Home. Now. You're scrubbing this shit off me."

It took you a moment to establish he meant the blood on his suit and whatever seeped beneath the fabric to his skin, his malicious smile told you this would be a bath that would leave you two overly soaked and pruny.

Mohawk Invincible

Immediately tries to argue, that was sacred. How could you.

His focus completely tears away. "What the fuck?! What did I do?! Just because I'm taking a little longer than usual?! Get back on the damn line! I know you can hear me!!"

He let's out a loud groan when you demanded for him to return again. He was half super-powered alien. Who gives a shit if he took 5 more minutes to kill someone?

"I know you can't live without my dick, but trust me— I'll kill this loser and come straight home! I'll even splatter his guts so you'll know I need that bath!"

"Don't care, bail out. Now." His hands clutch his forehead and drag his skin down to his chin in a frustrated facepalm, he's gotta kill this guy. And fast.

It was messy, he made sure of it, by the end of the massacre the corpse was unrecognisable and his suit was more red than blue and black, he looks up where he knows there's hidden cameras for GDA stalkers to watch him.

"Did'ja see me?" He sounds giddy. "See how filthy I am?" He gestures down to his suit. "I'm comin' to pick you up, we're running that bath the moment we get home!"

Omni Invincible

He tries to act like it doesn't bother him but deep down he feels like the bell tolled for his soul.

"Calm down." He's not sure if he's telling you that or himself. "Don't talk about our private things around those GDA pests."

The definition of 'lock the fuck in.' Because he does immediately after, you see him zip around on the screens before his opponent is grabbed by the throat and ultimately crushed. You thanked God for the distance between the camera and the scene itself.

He grunts as he drops the neutralised enemy and lets the blood drip off his gloved hand. "Threat down, I'm heading back now."

No objections, he was asked to deal with a problem, and he did. He didn't want to waste time around government dogs, picking you up and flying off wordlessly without waiting for your agreement.

"Don't ever talk about when we bathe together around those... parasites." He speaks softly to you as he flies you home with him, keeping out of civilian sights.

"And don't ever threaten not to bathe with me." He sounded more frustrated. "Or I swear, I'll throw that fancy bathtub we own into space and let it land in Alaska."
