RUMPLESTILTSKIN— An Oliver Quick/Reader Saltburn DarkFic
Pairing: Oliver Quick/You, Oliver Quick/Reader (no gender specified, terms like pretty are used though just to mention)
Synopsis: Oliver finds You, the awkward guest at his birthday party, and takes what his dark heart desires.
Trigger Warnings (PLEASE READ): noncon, blood play, Oliver just being evil
Fic under the cut, keep reading
"Who are you, then?"
It was the small man that said it, the one with the slurring Nothern accent and eyes like ice picks, palely sharp.
You'd seen him swaying on the outer edge of the party, seeming both drunk and far too sober, all at once.
His face was odd, flat, and sleek, like a trickster in a German folk story: thief of children, bringer of gold.
You hated the boy in a moment, drawing back from him against a trellis, your hands wrapped fast through the slats. His eyes made you wish you'd drunk rather less than you had done, silver as scissor blades in the swelling night.
"I'm one of Venetia's friends," you said, though you knew Felix more, and Farleigh rather better than you liked to. "You don't know me. Who are you?"
The boy stepped around a plant pot, his balance the measure of sobriety. He wore deer antlers with an open-chested white suit, embroidered with leaves, the dress of a more handsome man. Only the slopes of his cheekbones, the soft mouth were beautiful.
His eyes made an autopsy of you. There was nothing in them but wanting, a starving colour. An absence of it.
You would have turned to run, only there was nothing then to fly from that made sense.
"I'm Oliver," said the young man. "It's my birthday party. Felix's family arranged it all for me."
"Happy birthday," you said, at once, a reflex.
You wished that he'd go away, that he would edge into the maze like a shadow thrown by the sun, and meld with the dark of the leaves beyond. Anything but approach as he did then, his compact form eating of the air between you with carnivorous haste.
He was slight enough that you thought you might push him down or aside with little effort, but the poise of him, as delicate as a barber's blade, gave you pause. He'd cut you if you touched him, you thought. Something would happen, and you would run crying as you had from a dozen birthday celebrations as a child, unwanted.
He brought that old vulnerability up out of you, somehow, though he hadn't yet done much but broach the most innocent of smalltalk.
"How come you're over here, on your own?" asked Oliver, his head at a sympathetic incline. "You're too pretty for that. You know that, don't you?"
His voice was a sing-song croon, then, all silken menace. He was trying to charm you, you knew that, yet you saw as though through the beads of a brothel doorway the hunger in him, the appetite of worlds.
You glanced right and left, realising, with an awful start, how very drunk you were, swaying and stupid with it.
"I needed some fresh air," you said, with a high, braying laugh— Oliver half-smirked at the sound of it, knowing its falseness, knowing your fear. "All that bloody champagne went right to my head."
"You'll need someone to look after you, then," said Oliver, and then he uttered your name, making a baleful ditty of its syllables.
How had he known it? Had he known it all along?
You'd glimpsed him watching you, before, an empty glass in hand, attaching himself to your heels like a stoat after a rabbit, all lithe cunning on the hunt. Likely he'd heard your name then, as Felix had bent down to kiss your cheek, all affable golden looks. Heard it, and slipped it into the pocketbook of his mind to tear free, when it was needed.
Your name was pretty on Oliver's tongue, sugar, and ribbon, and stained glass, as apt to break. Happily you'd have taken the pieces and cast them all out into the riverbed, have gone nameless rather than hear him speak it again.
"You don't know anyone else here, do you?" asked Oliver, and there was the word again, no longer ribbon, but rough as a noose, strangling as he came closer still. "Just the Catton family. Something in common, me and you."
You lurched vaguely to the right, and Oliver's arm came up against the trellis, gently, a tender trap.
"You're lonely," he said. "Haven't you always been, though?"
His face was close enough for you to note the punctuation of a mole on his right cheek, the lines at his brow, the riddled literature of him. What he saw in yours was a portal to the past, all features from the nervous mouth to the twitching eyelids telling of a once bullied child, an outcast brought in through charity from the cold.
"Go away, Oliver," you said, bravely. "I want to be alone. I can't breathe."
That was true enough. You were stifled in your plastic wings and ill-fitting garments, sweating and airless, almost wanting to be sick.
Oliver drew his face nearer, and your throat closed to the breadth of a lock in your dread of him, of those ink spill eyes.
"I don't want you to breathe," he said. "Not right now."
Then he darned his lips to yours, their heat, their softness like the death of summer blooms, and you pressed back into the trellis so hard that you thought the wood might break, so brittle did it seem.
You brought up your hands to battle his shoulders, only for them to be joined with his, your fingers tangling, a torsion of slick skin and bone.
There were no thoughts that survived the cruelty of Oliver's embrace, the insistence of his compact strength, the length of tongue, of arousal under clothing, at your thigh. You wanted to snap free of him like a spell, but he kissed you until your fight withdrew in sight of its fair winner.
No one came close enough to see you, or if they did they thought you drunken lovers, poised to consummate your pash against the fence.
At last Oliver moved back his head, the reflection of the night's obsidian in his mortuary eyes.
"Let me go," you whispered. "I don't want to do this. I don't want you."
"Well, I want you, though," said Oliver, with an authority that frightened you in its unshifting weight. "And since nobody else here does, what's the point in saying no?"
His hands, little and wicked, wore their way under clammy layers of clothes. In all the heat they were almost cold, dragging from you a series of ragged gasps that were lost in the revelling darkness.
You wished the wings at your back were feathered, those of swans; they'd have broken the bones in his arm and you out of this, far lovelier a transportation than the sticky taxi that would bear you home in the hours to come.
Yet had such pretty things hung from your back this beast named Oliver would have bitten them off and flossed their quills through his teeth, you knew it.
He touched you until his findings were of stolen treasure, watching your every tendon solidify to strands of stone through the art of such fell grief.
"You weren't what I came looking for tonight, you know," he said. "But you're mine, anyway."
You didn't answer, imagined any word drowned like a cat in the depths of him.
Oliver stepped into you with a dancing softness and kissed you again, sucking a plum welt into your lower lip, breaking it between his teeth to blood. Again you struck your hands against him, but Oliver, with liquid instinct, pushed your arms back through the apertures in the trellis, caring little for the splinters in your wrists, if at all.
Crucifixion could not be so painful, so martyring as your capture beneath him.
"Oliver," you said, and he smiled.
"That's me. The birthday boy. And what does the birthday boy get?"
He opened your costume with the hook of four fingers, touched the bruised rose of princely lips to your ear.
His breath was smoke, and champagne, and stolen blood.
"I get what I want," he said, and then his cock was an arrow at the heart of your waiting horror, his slight hips a harp played against you, moving in the strum of entry, into the gold he made of your pain.
You screamed, and the sound was devoured by the bacchanal night. Oliver took you slowly, with patient intelligence, feeling each trembling agony of your body and twisting it, by sorcery, into something else. His eyes were a witch's orbs through which he knew you, psychic, solipsistic—
You were ivy about the wand of him, a thing that would poison the man, were he not immune to its effects. He fucked you as though he thought it romantic, somehow, this violence in a friend's pungent garden, the scent of flowers and trodden grass and arousal a perfume to woo.
There was blood on both of your faces, on his bare chest, under the blazer. It frightened you, suddenly, a tarot spread of death in the summer night—
Your panic, the heaviness of lingering champagne, the attack like Zeus upon a swan; all of it made you limp, in Oliver's grip.
He paused in his taking of you to hold you upright, studying your face under the Midas yellow of a nearby lamp.
"Stand up straight for me, now," he said. "And look at me. Look at me."
He tapped your cheek— not a slap, far too soft for that, as though the concern in the vicious gossamer in his voice was real.
"You want me to make you feel good about yourself. Need me. Don't you?"
"No," you said, but as Oliver kissed you again, and a firework shrieked somewhere against your eardrum, you lost what temporary power you'd had to resist him.
Like a spindled sleeper you endured his lovemaking, swallowed his tongue like a precious key. Your body was a pulse in deep water, stirred by hands and cock into a dripping arc.
Oliver moaned against your tattered lips, his arms about you in embrace. The heat of him would follow you, afterwards, the haunting of his lust's smoke from dream to dream.
He moved away from you, aided you in pulling your arms back through the trellis. For a moment he tried to hold you, his murmuring at your hair, its comfort indistinct.
Then, as you ripped him from you like the segment of a rotten apple he wiped himself clean of your blood; the rag he used was something torn from your garments in the fury of his love, a token of it. A thread from the maze.
You sat down in the grass and stared up at Oliver, seeking some answer. Assistance from the breaker of will.
"Go home," he said, at last. "Felix doesn't want you. And now—"
Oliver shook his head, and the peat fire of his eyes was of the underworld, then, of sapphire death gone to ash.
"I don't want you either. Not anymore."
Then he turned from you, and walked away, towards the house, his fey shape a shadow puppet on the wall.

🦌 : DELICATE DEER . . . what fantasy media inspired your desired reality? does your desired reality follow the same rules as it? if not what are some of the changes you've made?

obviously Hogwarts and Harry Potter. it changed some bits to fit my liking but most of it is pretty similar. also took some stuff from WLOPS's Ghostblade (the visuals for waterlight city, ghostblade, yulia)
for my other hogwarts dr I kind of took the idea of the wish from YOUR THRONE. but instead of a wish it's a blessing.
gonna be real, i created most of this myself but i would say some of it's based on some webcomics, games, and books. it's like a mixture. waterlight city/nirin is based on WLOP's Nothern Desert.
cyberpunk 2077. quite literally. fast & furious and oceans8. the greyraven name came from the game PUNISHING GREY RAVEN by kuro games (also made wuwa). some of those futuristic dystopia books/webcomics/shows too.
the books, movies, and shows. changed the fact some people die bc yeah. also tried to make it less traumatizing. greek mythology in general. made hades a better husband than in the movies.
༊ೃ⁀➷𝑰𝒏 𝑴𝒚 𝑫𝑹𝑨𝑮𝑶𝑵 𝑹𝑰𝑫𝑬𝑹 𝒅𝒓 @lalalian
obvi by lian. but also kind of based myself on a few webtoon characters (very loosely)
🦦 : OBSERVANT OTTER . . . what are the little things about your desired reality that some might overlook but you love?
the clothes and jewelry. also like my family and my pets. i could go on and on. the school days, the work, the exams. i scripted I always pass anyway.
the daily life. like?? obvi i scripted im wealthy but it's not like it's a bad thing. people aren't poor or homeless in my drs. probably being able to experience more than i ever could in my cr.
the futuristic aspect. the cities and prosthetics to see. the technology. is food any different? the cars? i'm excited.
life at the camp and away from the camp. the downtime we have and what we do with it. the training and games. the chores with all the other demikids. the trips.
༊ೃ⁀➷𝑰𝒏 𝑴𝒚 𝑫𝑹𝑨𝑮𝑶𝑵 𝑹𝑰𝑫𝑬𝑹 𝒅𝒓 @lalalian
exploring the towns and school. the actual school days like??? i want to experience the mundane stuff even if it's boring. the training and the classes. exploring the towns and having to do projects. having to take care of our dragons.
𓆩ꨄ︎𓆪. excuse my bad writing.

Get to Know Meme that I saw @witchofapollo do so I’m having a go!
Do you have a magical/Pagan name?
Not really but a lot of people call me Barns or Barnie
How did you find Paganism?
I’ve always been interested in celtic paganism, norse paganism and other nothern Europe and west Europe spirits and deities, however I was raised catholic so I wasn’t allowed to delve deep into it all. This May though, after a year of doing agnostic witchcraft I finally answered the call of the Green Man, a figure I’ve long been interested in since I was about nine. Its debatable whether they are a deity as such but my personal experience and UPG is that they do have divine like powers.
How long have you been practicing?
About a year and a half?
Are you out of the broom closet?
No, my dad is still very much catholic and my mum calls witchcraft, tarot and crystal things mumbo-jumbo and is very insulting to most people who do those things so I don’t feel comfortable to let my family know. I did kinda tell my sister when I was drunk but she didn’t get it so? not really.
Solitary or group practitioner?
Solitary as I developed my own correspondences for all the things I work with so it would be hard to work in a group.
What is your path?
Rather eclectic but focused mainly on plants, animals, fungi and colour magic with rocks.
D E I T Y
What’s your brand of deism?
I don’t know the proper term but I’m very sure that many deities exist, but I just don’t ever see signs or interact with them, only the Green Man
Who is your patron God/ess?
Again, debatable whether they are a deity but the Green Man
What Gods do you worship?
The Green Man, however I refer to them with they/them pronouns as they present themselves in many different forms. I also will use a specific pronoun if I’m talking about them in a certain moment, for example today she is using she/her pronouns. (This is all UPG and personal experience, please don’t refer to me!)
Do you fear darkly aspected Gods/Goddesses, or rather respect them?
I don’t really understand this question? I’ll try and answer it but I may answer a question of my own making XD I think all deities are flawed and should be viewed as such, but still respected. And depending on your personal feelings and experience with them, you should feel how you truly feel about them, whether that be fear, admiration or neutral.
Do you worship the Christian God?
No, and even though I used to be catholic I don’t think I ever really worshipped Them in a real sense?
Do you worship animals? Or plants?
Oh yes, researching animism is what finally made me start practicing witchcraft.
N A T U R E
Do you regularly commune with nature?
Oh yes!!! I go on walks and rambles a lot and sometimes just sit and let everything breathe with me.
Taken a camping trip just to talk to nature?
No, I’ve not been camping in years due to my dad’s bad back but I hope to soon with Leo, my husband.
Describe the moment you felt closest to Mother Earth?
I went to a rather off the map loch in Scotland back in 2017 and just looking into the cool clear crystal water, the gentle wind brushing my face, I felt so full and enriched.
Do you have a familiar?
Yes, Slartibartfart!
Have you ever called upon the powers of an animal in ritual?
Yes, I often call upon birds, deer or hares.
Or a plant?
Yes, a lot!
Do you hug trees?
Yup!! Its lots of fun!
Give them gifts?
I’ve not in years no, I used to leave little leaf brooches??? Pierced with daisies and clover at the foot of trees when I was about nine or ten.
What are your favorite plants to work with?
Thyme, purple sage, oak and grasses.
What are your favorite trees to work with?
Ooops I said oak in the previous one XD I also like to work with Chestnut trees and hazel trees.
What is your favorite holiday?
Autumn Equinox, I love making wild mushroom dishes!
What is your least favorite holiday?
? I mean, I don’t use the traditional wheel of the year but I don’t have a least favourite holiday.
Have you ever held a ritual on a holiday?
No
Ever taken a day off work to celebrate a Pagan holiday?
No
Do you celebrate Yule on the 21st rather than the 25th?
I’d like to do it on the 21st, but its my sister’s birthday and I’m also not open with being a witch so I don’t. I just do secret things on christmas :p
Tagging: @pleiadic-magic @littlewitchytransboy and anyone else who wants to have a go!

Some weird animals you should know

I have been having something new in the kitchen just for you. That is some new content for my blog, which I finally got the courage and resources to go live. It is something which I have dreamt about, and I am happy to let you know that you are among the first people to learn about my interests when you read this. The content I wish to share with you is about animals.
What time do we spend with animals if we can quantify it? Some of us do not even have any time for animals. If only every moment we could remember that we are also animals, then you could be humble yourself enough to accommodate animals.
We have a task to secure and watch out for the rarest species in the world. Some of them are below.
Elephant Shrew
This one us naturally existent in the Boni Dodori forest in Kenya. It has a peculiar appearance. When I first saw it, I thought it was a mouse until I looked closer. It has the head of an anteater. There are like 20 of them at the moment.
Ti-Tiger
The name itself is fascinating and rare. This human-made blend between a liger and a tiger is scarcely spotted. There exists one in Oroville, California, she says, just as somewhere close to six and ten altogether around the world.
Finless Porpoise
The finless porpoise is known for having a "wicked grin" and the increased insight of a gorilla. Shockingly, its populace is rapidly going the method for the Baiji dolphin, at present being recorded as endangered by the WWF.
Vaquita

With enormous dim balances and a dark ring around its eyes, this porpoise is unmistakable promptly. However, they will rapidly swim away when drawn nearer.
Saola
This one is native to Vietnam. With two long, parallel horns, the animal is regularly alluded to as the Asian unicorn. Resembling an antelope, yet identified with cows, the saola is discovered uniquely in the Annamite Mountains of Vietnam and Laos, making their populace—though amazingly little.
Seneca White Deer
This one will make you feel at peace, as it has a dazzling white color. Seneca white deers are leucitic, which means they need pigmentation in their body, yet at the same time have dark-colored eyes. Because of their predetermined number—there are around 300 altogether—the species was given an ensured space at the previous Seneca Army Depot.
The Nothern Hairy Nosed Wombat
Brought into the world with staggeringly poor visual perception, these adorable critters utilize their noses to look for nourishment in the darkness.here are just around 115 remaining in the wild, which are all found in Queensland.
Pangolin

This is a delicacy in China and Vietnam, and the conviction that their scales have therapeutic forces. Each of the four Asian types of the pangolin is, as of now, recorded as imperiled or jeopardized.
Hector'sHector's Dolphins
These dolphins sound like they belong to someone. The rarest as well as the littlest, marine dolphin on the planet. With short, imposing bodies and particular facial markings, this one of a kind dolphins are discovered distinctly in the waters along New Zealand's North Island.
Amur Leopard
Rather than living in the savanna, it'sits settled in the Russian Far East. With unusually warm hide, and the capacity to approach 37 miles for every hour, the Amur is genuinely an accomplishment of nature. Notwithstanding a life expectancy of 10 to 15 years, be that as it may, the Amur is very uncommon.
There are close to 9 million species of animals on the planet, and that would mean that we have so many of them.

Stars and Constellations
Time and abandonment of stargazing have left their mark in the Andes, and because of discrepancies in the way things were studied, there is confusion on names and locations of stars and constellations. However, over time, extensive research has provided astronomers with a list of constellations that are found in Cusco. The list is not complete, but it is pretty informative.
It is important to keep in mind that the Incas felt that there were two types of constellations;
Stellar/Bright constellations, consisting of individual stars or stars groups in small areas of the sky
Dark/Black constellations, the dark spots seen in the Milky Way and which the Incas identified as the shadows of animals who turned into deities
Click here for more information on these constellations.
The following is the list of constellations that have been established through research:
Stellar/Bright:
Qollqa – Qoto: The Pleiades cluster
Chakana - Orion, the Southern Cross, others
Urkuchillay – Vega star
Choquechinchay, Amaru, Qoa – Star Antares or Scorpio Constellation
Willka Wara – Sirius star
Qolla Wara – Canopus star
K’ancha Wara, Qatachilla – the star Achernar
Chuchu Qoyllue, Chuqchu Qoyllur – Alderbaran star
Qasa Qoyllur – the star Arturus
Maran – the square of Pegasus
Yakumama-Amaru – Stars of the tail of the Big Dipper or Ursa Majoris
Dark/Black:
Yakana or Qatachillay – the Big Black Llama
Uña Llama or Huch’uy Llama – small or baby llama, baby of the black llama
Atoq – the fox, found in all Andean myths and stories
Michiq – the shepherd, mission is to protect the llamas from the sky
Kuntur – the condor, the messenger of the sun and the Apus, or sacred mountains
Lluthu – the Andean partridge, a small Andean bird which occupies a dark nebula in the Southern Cross and Eta Carinae
Hanp’atu – the toad, represents fertility and is located between the Southern Cross and Eta Carinae
Mach’aqway – the small water snake, the long dark region between Carina and Canis Majoris
Ukhumari – the bear, hidden somewhere in the Milky Way

One thing i always think about living in nothern rural minnesota is like.. how many deer have grazed by my open window at night? How many wolves have passed through my yard? How many foxes have played right outside? How many rabbits have found safety nearby? So many critters right outside and we're just trying to coexist

Lynxes and the planet sized grain - Belgium
ENGLISH ×görgess le a magyar verzióért×

Belgium welcomes us this time. I am a little guilty, because in this case, chocolate and beer can not get the main role. It’s nothing to worry about. They are not for our stomach they only feed up our eyes.
Firstly, our favourite one the Ardennes. It is wonderful in foot for a good trip or even a bicycle tour. Hansur-Lesse has awe inspiring caves. And here located the Bouillon Castle and the Baravaux labyrinth. The forest has a very rich livelihood, which is home to wild boars, deer and even lynxes. So it isn’t a bad idea to take care if you have choosen a forest trip.
Brugge is often called the Nothern European Venice, as it has many canals which came from the Vikings strong spirit. The city’s old town has been listed the UNESCO World Heritage List since 2000. In Brugge located the Grote Market square with it’s glorious medieval architecture. Some of the most beautiful places in Burges are best explored during a pleasant boat trip.
We can not miss out the 102 meters, 2400 tonnes conformation, the Atomium. It is found in Brüssel, in Heysel Park. It was made in 1958 for the city’s word’s fair and it was the main attraction. It has been built for 2 years. Originally they just wanted to make it for the exhibition, but it became so popular, so the city’s leadership decided to finalize it. But what is this actually? It has 9 knob which have 18 meters diameter, made of steel and displays a center of iron cubic metal grid at a magnification of 165 billion. It’s like a graion to the World extent.
In addition one more place, Waterloo. Yes, it is in Belgium. It has a dutch name, water like water just for a surprise and loo like forest, because long time ago it was a boggy place. Now it has a monument called Butte du Lion to commemorate the battle.
MAGYAR Hiúzok és a bolygó nagyságú porszem

Ez alkalommal Belgium fogad minket. Apró bűntudatot érzek a lelkem mélyén, hiszen nem a csokoládéé és a söré lesz a főszerep. Aggodalomra azonban semmi ok.
Bruggeban található a Grote Market tér dicsőséges középkori építészeti stílusával.
Brüsszelben a Heysel Parkban található.
Ma, itt található a Butte du Lion, a csata emlékére.

Crumbs from a Saltburn fic I'm starting...
---
"Who are you, then?"
It was the small man that said it, the one with the slurring Nothern accent and eyes like ice picks, palely sharp.
You'd seen him swaying on the outer edge of the party, seeming both drunk and far too sober at once.
His face was odd, flat and sleek, like a trickster in a German folk story: thief of children, bringer of cold.
You hated him at once, drawing back from him against a trellis, your hands wrapped fast through the slats. His eyes made you wish you'd drunk rather less than you had done, silver as scissor blades in the swelling night.
"I'm one of Venetia's friends," you said, though you knew Felix more, and Farleigh rather better than you would have liked to.
You wished he was gone, that he would edge away into the maze like a shadow thrown by the sun and meld with the dark of leaves beyond.

http://www.kfbctampa.org/board2/board.cgi?id=kfbc8&action=view&gul=65&page=8&go_cnt=0
예를 들면 미국 신학교들의 학위를 관여하고 있는 최고 기관은 ATS( ASSOCIATION OF THEOLOGICAL SCHOOLS: 미국 신학교협의회)인데, 이곳 인터넷 사이트에 들어가면 최소한의 인포메이션을 얻을 수 있다(E-MAIL:WWW.ATS.EDU). 1. One saddle horse, one rifle, and one shaker of salt...
A man on a Chilcotin Holidays has one saddle horse, one rifle one shaker of salt, and nothing more.. he s gloriously free... Paul St Pier quote-at Chilcotin Holidays After stoking up on breakfast, Kevan instructed us on the proper methods of handling a horse in rugged terrain. We were joined on our journey by Sandra and Kris, avid riders from Vancouver who found the ranch a respite from the rigors of their medical careers, and an opportunity to indulge their penchant for hiking, camping and horsebacking. The cayus is a Heinz-57 variety of horse that runs wild in the mountains until recruited and trained for duty on the ranch. They are of average size and hardy. These horses have been living in these moutains for centuries, so the breed is now a sturdy even-tempered that has adapted to its enviroment terains. They are surefooted they are the best on these steep mountains. The horses were struggling through their first ride of the season. After spending summer months carrying riders hundreds of miles over the mountainous terrain they regain lost weight by bulking up on hay and oats during chilly Nothern winters, protected from the elements by three-inch thick coats of hair. I empathised with them. Since I'd spent the winter bulking up on junk food and keeping a keen eye on the electric blanket control, I had a winter coat of my own. "Moose scat," Len said two hours later, using a socially acceptable method of describing fresh sign he spotted in the snow. "We saw a bull and calf up near Beaver lake last fall, so let's head up that way, and see what we can locate," he said, then gave Mr.T a nudge in the direction of Wilt Chamberlain-sized footprints in the snow. During summer months the area is over run by mountain goats, big horn sheep and deer. Len then led us on the skilful retreat to the bottom of the mountain, blazing new trails over downed trees and portaging swollen creeks. We emerged from out days in the Chilcotins with appetites whetted for a full-on pack trips, especially after Kevan promised a stopover at Spruce Lake where, he says, native raninbows range up to three pounds and beg for a dry fly. http://dlvr.it/P3jLZ6

I’ve spent 16hours doing absolutely nothing in Skyrim
I bought Skyrim on the 19th of January 2017. It’s 22nd of January and I’ve already played 16h in total. So far my gameplay has consisted only of hunting and exploring the map by feet. I haven’t seen the map, I have done but 2 quests, and I’m loving it! I’ll go more into detail about my character Kaski and his adventures in another post but here you can read how I’ve spent 16 hours doing absolutely nothing in Skyrim. In 16 hours I’ve finished 2 quests. Those being the first two parts of the main quest: talk to one guy who then asks you to talk to another. I lost interest after the second guy (a yarl I suppose) asked me to go into a cave. A cave? When I have all of the wonderful landscapes to see all around Skyrim?! Needless to say I haven’t looked back ever since. Everytime some random ass lad or lass opens up about their problems I just either ignore them or tell them it’s none of my business. I once was kind enough to deliver someone’s love letter because they were a bormer and asked kindly. It took me a while to find said person. This person was not too happy about the outcome of their letter and got angry with me. That’s when I decided I don’t need such fuss in my life. I feel confident taking only the kind of quests where I can esily remember the name of the person/place I’m supposed to find, and can do so without checking the map. Speaking of which: I’m yet to look at the map at all. I’ve only ever seen the map of Skyrim when it’s in-game on a wall or a table. It has been several times that I get lost in between towns and spend a night searching for the right direction. So far I’ve been to Riverwood, Whiterun, Riften, that place south of Whiterun that starts with F, the southern most town called... something mrth something. That big castle type place that was very difficult to find an exit to and spent countless hours in the wilderness. I’ve discovered the nothern limit of the map, the western limit of the map, and killed 4 bunnies. My proudest contribution has been, so far, hunting down two deer. I’ve learnt how to headshot bandits and wolves with a bow and arrows, whom not to agitate (mammoths, giants, bears and saber cats) and bought and lost a dog. I downloaded a few mods too (ps4, official ones) to further immerse myself in it. I’ve got the fog being foggier (caused me a lot of trouble at night), rain and snow storms are heavier (makes you really want to look for shelter once you hit one of those), some additional wind movements for the grass and trees and finally the best one: The Hunter’s treehouse overlooking Whiterun and Riverwood. I was told that this is one way to play the game. Never looking at the map, hunting, doing my own thing, getting immersed. Hell, apparently some people even download zombies and all kinds of scary shit in there. What ever floats your boat. I highly recomend it! It’s been 16hours of pure joy.
