Onward and upward

Now that the inevitable has occurred I feel more positive about the world. Don't get me wrong, I don't think things will be better because Labor lost. The mad policies will still get implemented to our great detriment. What is giving me hope is that Labor are talking about renewal and values and things that matter. This is a great relief and is inspiring. It is a time for contributing where we can to ensure that the marginalized are brought in from their margins. That the voiceless are given a voice. That the silent and the silenced are encouraged to speak. We can, if we try, open our countrypeople's eyes to our blessedness and engender a spirit of communalism or commonwealth that will make us impervious to narrow politicking and more aware of wider policy implications. So - I'm going to try and be positive. Not Pollyanna positive but actively advocating for change and renewal rather than whinging about people and narrowmindedness. This is my attempt to put the acrimony of the last 4 years behind us and rise above the dread and disappointment that I felt on Saturday.

I’ve swum each day for the last 26 days, and even though I feel happier, I’m not all better yet. So I’m working on swimming more and drinking less.
