Enigmatic Death of a Branta canadensis, its enduring kin and nests at a parking lot pond. Absolutely not a stand in to procrastinate on more elaborate posts for Ardeids or Avian Borna Virus with a taxa I have less interest in like anatids. I LOVE anatids. Yep. Such a treat to see one of them. And I dont need the fancy Mergini anatids of the GLOBALIST ELITE. I'm perfectly content with encountering the same mallards and Canada Geese on a daily basis. I'm not disappointed when I mistake a Bufflehead for a Hooded Merganser. No no no. I saw a wood duck and a Chauna sp. at zoos, ONCE EACH, and thats all the validation from Anseriforme Jesus I need to keep checking. Stay tuned for my next post where I discuss Northern Cardinals, Carolina Chickadees, and Corvus corax. #birding #dontstopbirdlieving #Canadageese #Branta #dead #alive #contrived #maligned #designed #theropod #duck #notallmallards #yesallwhistlingducks #midatlantic #airheads (at Virginia Beach, Virginia) https://www.instagram.com/p/BzRdQwqA2xA/?igshid=1dz619j3b06o7

I keep thinking about applying human morality to ducks and then punishing male ducks. Like setting up a whole duck pond for thousands of dollars and then running out and zapping the drake with a stungun when it tried to mate, or like waiting and shooting paintballs at it when it approached the females. Just like picking up the duck by the neck and slapping it hard in the face like a gangster, yelling at it to shape up or I'll hit him even harder next time. Completely subjecting this duck to a campaign of terror as punishment for it's behavior.
Obviously I know ducks can't be judged by any human standard. But I just keep imagining how good it would feel even though I know it wouldn't actually feel good. I know it's wrong to attack animals for no reason.
Those goddamn drakes deserve it though, sexually violent men deserve a crazy bastard in their face really taking it to them. They swagger around but they're so tiny and weak but they think they get to attack females. Male ducks think they're big but they're wrong.
Maybe you should create a safe space for female ducks instead of punishing male ducks. Just leave the male ducks alone to do their male duck things and feed the female ducks unlimited fresh grains and grasses in a safe space away from the males. But then you’ll have people posting #notallmallards and claiming you’re oppressing the male ducks bc they might identify as female ducks. Guess we’ll cross that bridge when we reach it 🤔🦆
