regarding the harry styles bs –

if you as a cis straight person think that clothing and styling “queer you” in a way that allows you to be a part of the lgbtq+ community by virtue of dressing “fruity” or feeling like a quirkystraight or whateverthefuck, i feel like it’s somehow repeating the same “metrosexual” fuckery of the early 2000s

remember when if you bought anything from Express or H&M in any color you were instantly labeled a fag. but the catch was that if you were a cis straight man participating in any of the early 2000s fashions (or just like washed your face) then they were “metrosexual” and notafag. see Katy Perry’s Ur So Gay where the opening line is “i hope you hang yourself with your H&M scarf…”

i think you can participate in dressing femininely or masculinely or however you want without that changing your sexuality, which is different than gender identity (which i think most cis straight people frankly do not understand and conflate the two)
