random thoughts about castaway diva, episode eight
(read more because i always get carried away lol and this post might contain spoilers)
First of all, I can't imagine how bo geol feels when his brother asked him to recount the day their father hit woo hak with a chair. He's the only one who remembers everything and he's had to hold all of that in for his whole life. I can't begin to understand how that must have felt for him. He's such a strong person and I admire him for his perseverence and strength. I'd love it if he talked about his feelings more in the future. I know the story is focused on mok ha, but like the first episode showed, mok ha and ki ho have formed a super strong bond. All of that to say bo geol's feelings/story are a crucial part to this drama so it'd be nice if we got to know a little bit more about bo geol's feelings.
With that said, I also understand how difficult it must be for bo geol to be vulnerable around anyone. Ever since he was a kid, he's had to fend for himself and act as if nothing happened. He's protected himself by wearing this armor and now that he's grown up, he doesn't know how to act differently. The saddest part is he's tried numerous times to escape from his father. He even went as far as to call the police on his own dad (a police officer himself) for ab*se. But guess what? The police did nothing! The only time he's asked for help, the people that had the power to help him abandoned him and didn't believe him because his dad couldn't do that. Mr Jung seems like a nice man. He's a good police officer. "Plus, it's your dad ki ho. How could he do that to you?" All of that made being vulnerable impossible for him. He couldn't trust anyone. He was away from his loving family for years so the only person he could count on was himself. He was along for quite some time. He cried to himself, he had no one to hug/comfort him. No wonder being vulnerable and open about his feelings is a hard task for bo geol.
So I was right, ki ho and the "father" living in chunsam island happened after the chair incident. It's heartbreaking to see him being dragged with his father with no one to help him. What's even more heartbreaking is the mom's words "For the time being, don't provoke your father." There's an uncertainty in what she's saying. She doesn't even know if he'll be able to be him back home once the older brother is okay. The desperation in young ki ho's eyes is unbearable to watch. You want to stop that from happening. Then they hatched up a plan and ki ho was finally able to escape from his father. The reunion was wholesome. I must admit I shed a tear or two :')
Lee Uk really is an angel. This man is the living proof that love does move mountains 🩷 I'm so happy the mother found him. Thank you lee uk for what you've done for the family. You're a real man.
I'm sick and tired of woo hak wanting things to go his way and ignore everybody else's feelings. He annoys me sometimes.
It's so refreshing to see bo geol finally being ready to live as ki ho (at least to mok ha) because he's got tired of living in fear. I can't pinpoint what exactly triggered him but it's great to see.
AGHHHHHHHHHH!!! I'd love to be able to express myself clearly but my brain goes literally BBGRFEDECYGHTGFDFGHJ when i see how bo geol cares about mok ha. He knows that she doesn't want to pursue her dream after meeting with mr jung, yet bo geol is trying to convince her that becoming a famous singer would help the family. He's trying his hardest to not make her feel guilty and that proves he's her number one fan. He never stopped believing in her, even when she no longer could do so for herself. ALL IN ALL BO GEOL CARES 💖
On a completely unrelated note, chae jong hyeop has such a beautiful voice 😍 i'm falling in love with him,
Seeing mok ha and bo geol enjoying their time together is oh so sweet because it's the first in a looooooooooooooong time they get to be carefree and enjoy the moment. They've always had to endure the pain of being ab*sed so it's nice to witness them sharing memories with each other now that they know who the other is.
The camping scenes made me an emotional mess 😭😭😭 i think everyone in the family needed that moment to calm down and have fun. Also, it's beautiful to see that the family wanted to share with mok ha the first moment they reunited together without mr jung. It was a nice touch.
So happy to listen to dream us park eun bin version. She has such a beautiful voice.
All families deserve a dad like lee uk. The fact that he listened to bo geol being concerned about a nightmare he had that involved mr jung and acted upon it immediately shows how much he cares and loves his family. That man is an angel.
I- I'm not sure about the McD*n*ld's product placement. Even though it was funny how they accentuated the "th" sound in drive through lol
I feel for ran joo. All that pressure to keep being active and popular just so her mom's condition improves must be a lot to carry on her own. Once again, she's dealing with this alone. Thinking back on it, the years where she fell in disgrace must have been twice as hard for her. She's not only fighting for herself, she's also fighting for her mother.
Now why did ki ho go back to chunsam island and meet up with the man who betrayed him many many times and sided with mr jung? I know he has a plan but I'm scared for him.
I know bo geol wants to confront his dad but i'm scared for him. I don't want him to be harmed.
I really hope they catch mr jung. If not for the ab*se, at least for the car acc*dent.
It's interesting to see how ran joo got tired of mok ha giving up only once when she did it so many times to mok ha. I find that to be unfair! But at the same time, I understand she has a lot on her plate: her mother, the pressure to reach the 20 million album sales goal, the disgrace she's in right now, the realization that she is no longer the trend, the manipulation from her company. All of that is too much for one person. I know I'm contradicting myself but I can't help it.
I was a little frustrated with this episode so i'll give it an 8/10.
#if you know me you know the drill: i don't make any sense and i contradict myself#how can anyone understand what i wrote? I have no idea#if you have any theory you can leave them here lol#i feel like episode 9 will be full of twists and hopefully some things will get resolved#random(al) thoughts#kdrama#castaway diva

FNSIENDJDJ HI I HAVE SOME QUESTIONS FOR MRS KIM YN
hello lovely, how are you ? are you okay ? first question, how tf did you convince sejin to do a video ? i feel like manager sejin is so professional !
2nd question , not really a question tho … share your secret on how you got yoongi to … love you, for science. and for a friend …..🏃🏽♀️💨
last and final question… thoughts on huru … asking for … me
'You called me lovely,' yn goes 🥺, 'I'm definitely good now,'
---
'Wellll,,,,,' yn starts
'I was coerced!' Sejin slams his fist on the table.
Yn rolls her eyes, 'All I said was that considering you were going on holiday, it would be better for the boys to hear it from you, and you would do anything to make your boys happy,'
'You only wanted a video so you could hold me to it.' He accused.
'Yes, yes I did.' yn smoothed her pants, 'it wouldn't be fair to get anyone's hopes up and back out, unless it was an emergency. You know you're not actually mad at me, and you know I respect your word,'
'I wouldn't break my word,'
She offered a smile to the miffed older male, 'So we obviously don't have a problem,'
He narrowed his eyes at her, 'You make it so easy to forget that you're a ruthless CEO.'
'I respect you too Manager Sejin,'
Ji-ho taps Manager Sejin's shoulders, 'you think she's perfect for Namjoon,'
'Well, she doesn't have to know that!'
---
'I don't love her,' Yoongi grumbles
'Okay so,' yn ignores him, 'let him sleep, coffee always, never question the time it is consumed, and as corny as this sounds, be yourself.'
'That doesn't work,'
'And by be yourself I mean, don't push his boundaries, don't make him like you, he'll do that on his own if it's meant to be and above all, love his band and their music.'
'I mean, those are all valid but I still don't see how you think I --,'
'You defended her against Maiya and Jong-Woo,' Namjoon pitched.
'You hand picked her favourite color from the bowl of sweets in the band lounge,' Hoseok shrugged.
'You checked up on her at the party,' Kenta supplied.
'You poured her coffee at breakfast,' Jimin added.
'Not to mention that Mono blanket hyung,' Jungkook whispered
'You love me,' yn clapped. 'So hold my hand and make it official.'
A groan as he put his hand forward, 'You're worse than Taehyung,' who bumped behinds with yn in solidarity.
---
Namjoon coughs, 'uhm, he's a dick, ahem,'
'What's wrong with your dick?' Hoseok asks.
'Nothings wrong with my --,'
'Oooh he's a looker cas, you'd like him,' yn exclaims. 'I mean at first he was really robotic, but he's really interesting. And everytime I meet him I feel like I'm cracking this weird shell around him.' yn looks deep in thought as she explains, 'I mean he's this whole human being underneath all the espionage and the part-time PI stuff, and it's pretty cool to see that part of him,' she sits up in her chair, 'and he can talk about anything. Like the world and the dark web and secrets and ooh he's a good people watcher, he's a really good people watcher.' She frowns, 'I think he'd make a really great friend and an ally, if only everyone would give him a chance.'
Yoongi leans over to Jin and whispers from the side of his lips, 'Hyung, should I glare the way you and Namjoon and Hobi are glaring or...'

Nevertheless
Cast: Han So-Hee, Song Kang, Chae Jong-hyeop, Lee Yul-eum, Yang Hye-ji, Kim Min-gwi, Lee Ho-jung, Yoon Seo-ah, Jung Jae-kwang.
Synopsis: An uncertain romance begins between a heartbroken woman who no longer believes in love and a flirtatious man who does not want to commit to a relationship. Based on a webtoon with the same title.
Review: Okay before I start, I just want to say that this is a 18+ drama so if you're under 18 please don't watch this until you are of age because there's a lot of racy scenes.
I do have to say that this is a very progressive drama since you only see dramas with racy scenes on a historical drama and very rarely in a normal kdrama so I was honestly shocked the first time. But the chemistry was great between them. It's such a soft scene that it's cute.
Very artsy and very aesthetically pleasing. The whole drama was just shot beautifully. The cast was visual infused. They look like actual art students, very cool and gorgeous looking people. So, visually this drama is a 13/10
Plot wise, I hated it lol. The webtoon is great. I've read it and it ended they way it's supposed to end, a great message to women of age. However, the drama did not to this justice. At first, the plot was very similar to the webtoon up until episode 8 and then it just went down hill from there. It became more of a cat and mouse kind of situation after that and it got really tiring.
I ended up rooting on the side character's love story instead of theirs because it has gotten so boring towards the end and Han So Hee's character, Yu Nabi is just super different from the webtoon. So, as the webtoon fan I was so sad that the drama was lost in translation in regards to the webtoon.
I wished that the director would show a another side to Park Jae-eon to give him more story and depth but I guessed not.
If you're interested, go watch at your own risk lol
Rate: 5/10 (visual wise: 13/10)

UPDATE‼️
Lee Jong Suk for Vogue Korea 2022 October Issue.
🚨Warning: long text ahead...
[VogueKorea] "I think I used to have a sense of impatience, but now I feel relaxed."
Having a new round with #BigMouth, he was more relaxed than before. A clear yet romantic conversation with him, #LeeJongSuk
Keep reading👇
Young Man, Lee Jong Suk
The drama <Big Mouth> was a powerful shot announcing Lee Jong Suk's return. As he faces a new round, he is more relaxed than before. And he is still young.
(Oversized coat, herringbone jacket, pants and shoes by Bottega Veneta.)
(Oversized leather bomber jacket, pants and shoes by Prada, white sleeveless top by Hemen Biarritz.)
(Black double-breasted jacket by Dries Van Noten at Boontheshop Men, pants by Recto, and bracelet by Tiffany&Co.)
(The white fur coat is from Dolce & Gabbana.)
Lee Jong Suk is back. It's also very intense. <Big Mouth>, the first work after being discharged from the military, maintained the first place in viewership ratings in the same time period throughout the airing, and his name, 'Gunbaekgi' of 3 years and 4 months, jumped to second place in brand reputation. In this drama, he is a subsistence superhero with the face of a genuine cartoon character and throwing steel punches. Director Oh Choong-hwan, who previously worked with <While You Were Sleeping>, had him in mind as the number one casting prior to the drama production.
Director Oh, who mentioned Lee Jong Suk as “an actor whom he trusted a lot” in an interview with the Taiwanese media, attributed all the credit to his detailed and clever acting. As the director said, Park Chang-ho, who sometimes looks easy-going, at times he seems evil, and then goes crazy, is a pretty demanding character with a lot of emotional changes.
How unrealistic is the setting that an insignificant lawyer with a win rate of 10% wakes up like Superman after being imprisoned under the guise of a rare con artist? Besides, the wife in the play is Girls' Generation's Yoona. Lee Jong Suk, who has been living as Park Chang-ho for a full year since the filming began in September last year, is only now letting go of the burden of a successful comeback.
(Oversized check coat by Vetements at Mue, knit vest by Marine Serre at Mue, and red pants by 8 By Yoox.)
Lee Jong Suk and <Vogue> met in September 2013 as well. It was around the time when the drama <I Hear Your Voice>, which made him a super rookie, a rookie actor in the third year of his debut as a model, ended and the movie <Contemplation> was about to be released. Lee Jung-jae, who appeared in the movie together at the time, won an Emmy Award for <Squid Game> that day.
After the photo shoot was over, Lee Jong Suk was delighted with the breaking news, and he was truly delighted. "Wow! That's awesome. I think it's really great. I was also impressed by watching <Hunt>, in which the senior was directed and starred.” As we all know, Kang-ho Song, another main character in <Contemplation>, won the Best Actor Award at the Cannes Film Festival for the first time in Korea. A lot has changed in less than 10 years. He said that he would play the most diverse characters that he could do in school uniforms while he was always in high school roles because of his youthful face.
After Lee Jong Suk, who appeared as his son in the movie, took on his first solo lead role in 'Doctor Stranger', Song Kang-ho monitored and cheered him on, saying, 'You're doing well'. This time, it's Lee Jong Suk's turn. “It still feels like a different world. cool. It's great for an actor that he can be recognized anywhere in the world for his own content even if he doesn't have to speak in English. In some ways, it seems more difficult. What should I do next (laughs)?”
He already knows the answer. just like you've done so far.
(Long black shirt, jeweled shirt and trousers by Dries Van Noten at Boontheshop Men.)
In this drama, Lee Jong Suk showed a full-fledged action. He was coached by a martial arts team to film scenes of violent fights with prisoners inside the prison, and during the filming, he suffered a major knee injury. “I’m glad I finished well alive.” As the filming is hard, it is not only rewarding, but it is also very grateful and affectionate for the actors and staff who spent a long time together.
Lee Jong Suk said that the ending scene of episode 4 is especially memorable. Prisoners surrounded Park Chang-ho and shouted 'Big! Big! It's a scene chanting 'Big'. “In the script, there was a handprint that said, ‘Like a general going to the battlefield’. But that's not an area I can express. I thought a lot about what kind of expression I should make, but I felt relieved after watching the actual episode. It’s like a cartoon, and you put a lot of thought into directing the camera angle, music, and even the atmosphere. 'Oh, something cool!' That I have become dependent on the members who make the work. It’s a little different than before.” Once trust is born, confidence grows with it. Instead of blaming himself and worrying, he said he shares his concerns with his teammates.
Rather than being vaguely anxious, try once. Because there are people you can trust. His actions are unstoppable. In the movie <Decibel>, which is about to be released in the second half of this year, he plays the role of a navy captain who struggles with his comrades to prevent terrorism in the city center.
It feels quite different from the previous Lee Jong Suk. “I had a desire to do something with a slightly different resolution, but I didn’t have any intentions. If the script is fun and I can play a role, I do it. <Big Mouse> <Decibel> Everyone is like that. Is it still a young vigor? Of course, after filming like that, I was like, 'Is it okay? I wonder if I am doing well.”
(Silver bomber jacket, black long shirt, jeweled shirt and trousers by Dries Van Noten at Boontheshop Men.)
It would be a bit disappointing for those who miss Lee Jong Suk's romantic comedies, but after the movie <VIP>, which surprised everyone with his unique aura psychopath acting, he definitely became bolder.
Recently, he made a special appearance as a long-haired Mystery Man in another movie <Witch 2> directed by Park Hoon-jung. He is the type of person who maintains a relationship that has been established for a long time. At last year's non-face-to-face Seoul Fashion Week, she appeared as a model in the Beyond Closet Show and kept her loyalty to designer Koh Tae-yong. It was after his military service had just ended. “I was the model when Taeyong’s older brother did his first show as a designer. Judging from the time of his debut, I am the senior (laughs).
There seems to have been some impatience in the past, but I think I have more time now. I don't know if it's because I'm old. I'm willing to try it when I get the chance. It would be nice if even one more person could be interested because of me.” A snack car was sent to the filming site for today's Webtoon, a new film directed by Jo Su-won, who worked with <Pinocchio> and <I Hear Your Voice>.
(Black jacket, see-through shirt, pants and gloves by Valentino.)
Coincidentally, this drama had to suffer the misfortune of being scheduled at the same time as <Big Mouse>. Ki-yong Hwang, the CEO of Hisstory DNC, which is currently Lee Jong Suk's agency, is also a producer of dramas such as <While You Were Sleeping> and <Pinocchio>, and has built up trust with him for a long time. “He is a good older brother to me and a reliable representative. We met from time to time to eat and talk about dramas, and naturally we started working together from the beginning of this year.” If a man's relationships flow into alcohol, he has coffee.
He can't drink at all, and he brews coffee himself with the skills he learned over the shoulder of a barista. “I am not very professional. When a friend sends me blended beans, I pretend to know it because it has a Sanmini body, but I like coffee that tastes bitter because I just burn it on a strong roast.” '89 Mansion' on Garosu-gil, which he ran with his elementary school friend, was closed due to the pandemic, but he wants to try the cafe again someday.
In fact, around that time, Lee Jong Suk took on a lot of other things besides acting. In the drama, he published a book of poetry with Na Tae-joo, the main character of the poem 'Flower Flower', which he wrote in the drama, established an agency, and created a hideout-like space called 89 Mansion. “I like quiet and pretty spaces, so opening a cafe has been my dream for a long time. It's fun to look at interior accessories and furniture. So I wanted to have a space that I decorated. This experience doesn't seem to help me much with acting, but outside of acting, my life as an individual has become a little more fulfilling.”
(Cropped check jacket from Gucci, black sleeveless top from Ystrdy's Tmrrw, black pants from Husbands Paris, necklace from Bulgari.)
It is probably the fans who miss 89 Mansion the most. On September 12, Lee Jong-suk met fans on stage after a long time. This fan meeting held at Blue Square was also a gift for those who waited for a long time. The performance, which was scheduled for 100 minutes, was extended to 3 hours due to the lengthy talk. The cast of <Big Mouse> also came out as guests, and they even picked out a great song. It is Oh Eui-sik who plays Kim Soon-tae, Park Chang-ho's only friend and right-hander, and Yang Kyung-won who plays the charming villain Gong Ji-hoon. “They are the hyungs I met for the first time in this drama, but they are mature human beings, so I rely on them a lot. Not to mention the acting. In particular, Kyungwon hyung, whom I call the 'Korean Joker', showed up wearing only a robe during the first filming, but he was so sexy that he was like, 'What is it?' I wanted to.” As bright-eyed viewers will already know, Gong Ji-hoon in <Big Mouse> and Pyo Chi-su, a North Korean soldier in <Crash Landing on You> are the same person.
“I asked the request carefully, but I was grateful that both of them said that they would be willing to come. Not only did the fans like it, but thanks to the hyungs, I felt at ease too.” Lee Jong-suk's fan meeting was hot enough to become a hot topic on the Internet site. It was also a heartbreaking time. From his 20s to his 60s, fans from various countries gathered in one place only to meet him. Nekomimira invited two of the audience to the stage by lottery when playing a truth game using a lie detector, which is popular these days. They were overseas fans from Germany and China.
When he asked for help on the spot because he needed an interpreter, an Indian fan who could speak four languages appeared and surprised him. By the time the performance was over, Lee Jong-suk had a few months to come, thanks to his memory of today. He thanked the fans for saying that he will be active for a few years with his shoulders stretched out. That's sincere. “I am a person with low self-esteem, but after a fan meeting, I am recharged. There are times in life when you feel that you are small. But when I meet my fans, I feel like, 'Yes, I'm a person I can use'. It means a lot to me.”
The day after we interviewed was his birthday. "I did not know. After receiving so many congratulations, I forgot again. No plans yet. Maybe your mother would make seaweed soup?” He doesn't go out of the house very often, and he doesn't have anything he wants or needs. He is said to have lived a year for three clothes. “Where are you going to spend your money? Well, that's a novel question.
What about interior accessories? It's not a grandiose thing, but I recently bought an object for putting incense candles and a new handy vacuum cleaner. And really delicious sweet potatoes!” The largest portion of his monthly consumption list is a delivery app. Like most people living today. What's his next plan? “I’m still thinking.” Right now, there is a schedule for recording the poster for <Decibel> and filming the poster. When the movie is released, it will be busy with publicity again. “I think I can rest for a while. I'm trying to catch my breath slowly and come up with a concrete plan."
At one time he said he wanted to be the highest-paid actor. He is such an immutable star who constantly meets the audience through his works and maintains his popularity. "Right. I said that with several meanings. He wants to be a little more relaxed than any goal right now. I just want every day to be comfortable and peaceful. That way I can focus more on my life.”

Hwarang [Ep 15] IDK HOW I SKIPPED POSTING THIS LOL
I like that Moo Myung is honestly more King-like than Maek Jong. I think he would make a better King unless Maek Jong has some character improvement. However, I doubt that's the way things turn out. I'm sure Make Jong will still end up on the throne, but hopefully, he will be a different person by then.
Ah Ro has so much trust in Moo Myung that he won't let them die. I think he's really gonna get hurt though. I think he'll barely win somehow. Lol, it's funny that the princess doesn't think he is her brother, but I think she doesn't want him to be because she likes him. This is just the Ah Ro situation all over again just another woman haha.
So this Prince/King whatever he is likes to just do things on luck and chances. It doesn't show the dice but I think Moo Myung's was higher, I think not based on pure luck but that he has used that dice thing so much that he knows how to slightly maneuver his hand to land on what he wants it to. Or it could be luck, idk.
Aish, Young Shil isn't going to do anything and so the other ministers won't either. They won't start a war. They got the Queen's hands tied. Whether they live or die is going to be entirely up to Moo Myung and if he can win or not. Oooh, I good idea would be for Wi Hwa to send the rest of the Hwarang, and then the ministers would care because their sons are there too.
Ugh, guard dude cut Moo Myung's arm...that's cheating bruh...what precaution are you talking about ugh. You're giving him a disadvantage. I'm so mad. He's gonna die.
Okay, he didn't die, I guess because he's really not afraid of death. The Prince even asked him that and he said why would he. Oh, it did show us the dice he did get a higher score. Fascinating. Hmm, I don't think this guy is gonna actually keep his word. Oh, but he won't let the people go.
So Moo Myung is gonna break everyone out of jail and make a run for it and that's gonna cause the war I guess.
I love that Maek Jong is worried about Seon Woo; at least slightly. Plus he's helping him bail everyone out so....
Oh, Soo Ho took the arrow for Seon Woo.
Ugh, this Prince guy is so annoying, why can't he just let the dang people go. Why does he feel the need to kill everybody? Yes, the other Hwarang came just in time. haha, drama timing of course.
Oh no, Maek Jong saw Ah Ro and Seon Woo kiss. He's gonna find out they aren't actually related....well not till the next episode anyway.
My Thoughts: Personally, I think Seon Woo/Moo Myung would make a better King anyway. I know he probably won't even want the throne, that's not really his type of thing. He just wants to right wrongs and have people live peacefully. However, it's because of that attitude that he would make a better King, for now anyway.
I think once Maek Jong changes and grows up a little and stops being that son that hides and just tries to piss off his mom he will be capable of being a great King. He's seen the outside, and now he's seeing how great of a person Seon Woo is. I think he's jealous because right now he thinks Seon Woo would make a better King than him too.
I hope Ban Ryu ends up not working for Yeong Shil. I know he's gonna be put up to a huge test of loyalty here soon. Maybe not the next episode but definitely before the final one. He's gonna have to choose between his friends and lover, or power and being King.
5 episodes left to go and things are gonna get more and more serious.
