So the other TFONE Prime cards came out, so what I’ll do is just cover the ones I don’t have much to say about here.
First up Solus Prime.
Tumblr media
Solus has had the weirdest design philosophies. This design seems to be primarily based on the Prime Wars webseries look.
Tumblr media
Which is the superior design vs her original look which has this weird HR Geiger Species vibe I’m not fond of.
Tumblr media
Solus’ primary claim to fame is being the first female Transformer, and the only one among the Primes, making most of the famous weapons in the general lore, and pry most tragic: getting shot by The Fallen and dying. Her body serving as the basis for the Well of Allsparks, meaning she functionally given birth to all Transformers going forward. There’s a… lot to unpack there, not helped is shows like RiD15 and Cyberverse use her name as an exclamation/cuss in “Sweet Solus Prime!” Unlike the older lore, ONE Solus dies by Sentinel’s actions, absolving Megatronus of the matter, which honestly I kinda prefer. Whether Solus and Megs were romantically involved here is unknown. I think what I’m most surprised by is the movie resisted giving Elita Solus’ Cog, since I guarantee older stuff would’ve done that. Outside of both being girls tho’, Solus does fit Elita’s hard working personality more than Alchemist and Onyx.
Nexus Prime
Tumblr media
Not gonna lie, I’m kinda disappointed about this one. His gimmick is he’s the first Combiner, which again contradicts Aligned’s claim Amalgamous is the first converting robot with the first Cog. The ONE design pushes it more into a G1 Blitzwing direction, with vestigial nods to the combiner idea in that he looks to combine from a jet and tank in particular, again mirroring Blitzwing.
Though it also could be a reference to Flywheels.
Tumblr media
Nexus Prime’s original designs nevertheless make his Combiner gimmick expressed more clearly.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
So it feels like a bit of a downgrade to me. His gun shield looks like it formed from a tank component to me, but that could be a stretch… Maybe he really IS a Duocon in this universe.
Liege Maximo
Tumblr media
If there’s one thing Liege is known for, it’s not having a consistent design.
As we’ve gone from whatever this is supposed to be…
Tumblr media
To Loki because the MCU was really popular back then.
Tumblr media
The new design still uses Marvel Loki as the basis, but dials it back considerably, instead making him more of a generic knight. Notably the inclusion of a sword is interesting, as Aligned states his weapons are poisonous Legion Darts. Maximo’s initial concept painted HIM as the first Decepticon, of which Megatron and the others are descended from, an evil being created by Primus to counterbalance the first Prime via G2. Because Megatronus later inherited a lot of this, he instead was cast as more of a manipulative trickster, still evil, but not to the same extent as his G2 version was. Liege Maximo is also the Prime of false starts, as his G2 and IDW selves were set up as the next major villain but cancellation saw this unresolved. G2 Liege Maximo saw conclusion in what was unofficial fan fiction written by Furman, while IDW Liege Maximo was unceremoniously killed by Shockwave-Onyx in the main book. His only role that saw a proper conclusion was in RiD15, where he was the villain of the day in a chapter book causing problems for the Autobots because he was bored in the Prime Realm and wanted a cheap thrill. RiD is also the only place his Loki like characteristics were played around with. Because the Primes in ONE appear to all be benevolent, it’s not clear if Megatronus or Liege Maximo are still supposed to be the evil ones or not, but the more heroic looking Liege says no to me.
Amalgamous Prime
Tumblr media
The mad lads finally made this horrifying thing work.
Tumblr media
Pushing it into a four armed ED-209 direction is much better, and frankly going by his more “primitive” build, they can easily make future Shockwave toys into Amalgamamous. This guy’s claim to fame in the modern lore is being the first actual Transformer with the first Cog, which again is contradicted by Nexus and (possibly) Onyx also being able to Transform… Aligned lore says his Cog informed all future robots on Cybertron of the ability to Transform, but ONE streamlines it that ALL the Primes had Cogs and the ability to Transform, making Amalgamous somewhat redundant. Aligned also claims his direct descendants are “Shifters”, Transformers with omni transformation, rather than the standard robot to vehicle.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Aligned didn’t really do much with this concept because you can’t realistically make a toy of such a thing nor is it feasible to have them as reoccurring characters for both expenses and being OP, with TFP Makeshift and RID15 Pseudo being depicted as shadow creatures in their default mode. The Shifters haven’t returned post Aligned so I think it’s an abandoned concept. Future stuff I would assume would instead say Triple Changers and Six Changers are AP’s direct descendants since they’re much easier to work with in toy and fiction. His new Robot Mode makes me think he turns into a tank, but I’m also not sure if his head is his chest or not….
Vector Prime
Tumblr media
Aside from his head and colors, the TFONE version is straight up the original Galaxy Force version.
Tumblr media
Though his colors evoke one of Vector Prime’s influences, the Marvel G1 Last Autobot.
Tumblr media
Vector Prime’s best known role is in Cybertron/Galaxy Force, where as the Primus appointed guardian of time, he joined the Autobots of the present day to find the Cyber Planet Keys to close the Black Hole that threatened the universe, as it was the end of time. Galaxy Force also showed Vector Prime can manipulate time, but it was a drain on his energy, and using it too much would kill him. Notably he used a brief display of this early on to save the kids and Mini-Cons from certain death, but I guess this version of Vector couldn’t do the same to defeat Sentinel & the Quints…

For the ask game:
1, 11, and 17 (😎), for Eda!
1) Voice claim:
Every version of Eda has a different voice in my mind, & I don't have voice claims for all of them just yet. However, I do have some in mind:
> Aligned (Prime/RiD15) Eda could be voiced by Stellan Skarsgård
> Aurex (Unicron Trilogy) Eda could be voiced by Tig Notaro
11) Inspiration:
Eda's gone through a lot of changes since I first made him, so I'll highlight some of the key inspirations that stand out most to me..
> The first version of Eda I ever created was for Prime, since that was the first non-Bayverse continuity I'd explored & also the first depiction of Unicron I'd witnessed. I wanted to explore more about who and what Unicron was, and I equally wanted a character onto whom I could project and express my then-poor mental health.
> I had freshly emerged from a Steven Universe hyperfixation, so a fair amount of Eda's foundations came from there. His empath powers - especially his grief projections - were inspired by those of Blue Diamond; his desire to leave his past self behind and connect with humanity comes from Rose Quartz; his distaste for Cybertronians due to repeated abuses and conflicts comes from Lapis Lazuli.
> Many long-time friends of mine had great confidence in creating super-powerful characters where I did not, and encouraged me to cement Eda as a character even at the risk of making a "Mary Sue" - though I have since succeeded in killing the part of me that cringes.
> Eda's love for Quintus Prime was a result of my appreciation for their design & subsequent desire to explore their character beyond what little existed in the Covenant of Primus. I also wanted to explore how Eda differed from Cybertronians - who better to do so in-universe than the First Scientist, someone unrestrained by social stigma or biases?
17) Parenting style:
Funny you should be the one to ask.
> As @soundcrusher & I have already established, multiple incarnations of Eda care for her oc Flinch, and certain other Edas (Animated, for example) have many more youngsters to protect. He does his best to be a good parent, leveling with the children to understand their perspective and compromise with them where he cannot meet their desires. His tendency to overfocus on his inadequacies causes him to often overwork or overstress himself - and as Soundy well knows, the kids take his exhaustion as an opportunity to express how they love him & know they are loved in return.

tfp soundwave for the character ask. he’s neat :)
UHHHHH HE!!! I LOVE THE HE!! lets gooooo!
favorite thing about them:
This is kinda hard… Because I love many things about that silent bastard, but a lot of that has to do with his design and the way he carries himself. I LOVE how tfp soundwave looks, I love how different he is front his G1 self.
Tumblr media
This LITTLE PETALS LIKE THINGS HE HAS ON HIS HELM ARE GOING TO BE THE DEATH OF ME!!
Now… The way he carries himsel, is just??? Wow, like… Damn, the animators know what they were doing, because Soundwave is unredable in a way that is just his… The dude is a brick wall and he acts as such!!
least favorite thing about them
Look, I honestly don’t know what to put here.… MaYBE his war crimes…?
favorite line
Ufff… Which one would it be?? I think maybe “Soundwave Superior, Autobots Inferior” or maybe “Soundwave Superior, Autobots Inferior” One of the two.
brOTP
Shadowstriker is not on TFP, so she sadly doesn’t count here, but it would have been her. I dont know if I would call the TFP version of Megatron & Soundwave platonic relationship that lives in my head a brOTP, but is prolly that one.
OTP
Jazz/Soundwave … Listen, LISTEN…. I KNOW Jazz is not on TFP, (and though I hate how exodus wrote him) But he is in the novels, and in RID15… Just, pre-war reluctant allies, that become enemies, not heard from eachother for hundreds of years and all they know is that they are on opposite sides. When one day they happen to be at the wrong place at the wrong time and have to work together, and realize, you are not as bad as I though, in fact we are really similar… And so they have this weird truce in which they would never betray their factions but NEVER hurt echother… and it was just mutual respect and admiration… but oh no Jazz is really fun to be around, and makes him feel all fuzzy, and SHUT UP RAVAGE I just think he is really smart!
nOTP
Soundwave with either Prowl or Starscream.
random headcanon
You remember Flashback soundwave?
Tumblr media
Yeah, this one… He used to have places in his armor that allowed all his symbiots to attach to him, but as one by one they died, he couldn’t look at himself knowing one of them could be there. So he removed those parts that allowed the rest of the symbiots to attach, leaving only Lazerbeak‘s place in his chest.… And that is how we got skinny Soundwave…
unpopular opinion
I don’t know how unpopular or controversial this is… but TFP Soundwave is not “loyal“ to the decepticon cause, he is loyal to Megatron. In other continuities, mainly Cyberverse and IDW1, Soundwave is the perfect deception for following the original decepticon goal, NOT Megatron, but his ideals. And I can’t help but feel that aligned, SPECIALLY tfp Soundwave is the other way around. Aligned Soundwave has lost to much, the only things he has left are Lazerbeak and Megatron, and he is going to follow them until the end of times if he has too, morals be dammed.
song i associate with them
I have an entire playlists…. and honestly, I have songs that SPECIFICALLY remind me of Cyb, IDW, G1 and even Cybertron Soundwaves… And I am having a hard time finding one that is MAINLY TFP…
So you get the palylist.
favorite picture of them

this one… He… in the light…. thoughs… many thoughs in head rn….

Hiya! Who's your favorite TF villain? (Groups don't count you have to pick an individual)
Oh god. That’s a long list. SO, I will do ever verse I know. (And I’ll go for Decepticons over villains, as not every Con is super evil)
TFA: Blitzwing, Blitzwing for sure. I love my multiple personality baby.
TFP: KNOCKOUT, NO QUESTION.
MTMTE/LL/IDW: Definitely Tarn. I have a problem with Tarn. When I say problem, I mean a major not really crush, but you get the gist. He is FIIIIIIIIINE.
Bayverse: Probably have to say Wheelie, if he qualifies, since he was a Con at first. If he does not, then probably Galvatron (cause Frank Welker back voicing Megatron!)
RID15: Soundwave. No question about it. I also like Steeljaw, but he pisses me off.
G1: I haven’t watched much, but I would have to say my fav from G1 is either Starscream or Thundercracker, I honestly just love the three of them (though mostly my AUed version of them.)

there’s an official poll going on rn to vote for your favorite legacy tf figure, as well as to vote on which of the 13 primes is your favorite. All I’m seeing on Twitter are people saying “how could you vote for anyone except The Fallen, Alpha Trion, or Vector Prime”
standing proud as the one singular vote for Micronus Prime 💪

EarthSpark OCs, since I’m seeing my previous EarthSpark topics light up my dashboard and I’ve been meaning to post these for awhile.
Due to a Warp Gate accident in peacetime in the CV Life on Earth universe, the Autobots’ human allies Grahm, Thompson, Meister and Maddie along with Optimus’ Mini-Con partner Leon, get whisked away into the EarthSpark universe, but the group gets separated from each other in Witwicky. By chance each kid winds up finding the Emberstone chamber and unwittingly activates it, creating more Terrans separate from the Maltobots. Unlike the Maltobots, these Terrans were born with alternate modes, scanned from choices in each child’s mind from their universe. These Terrans are also more openly aligned with the Autobots due to Grahm and the others’ bond with their previous Autobot partners, and are more oriented for combat than their Maltobot cousins.
Phoenix: Bonded to Grahm. Hotheaded, smart mouthed, and no-nonsense, Phoenix can and will tell off Optimus, Megatron, Termagax and Dot if he thinks they’re demeaning himself or the other Terrans. Gets along with the Maltobots, but finds Twitch and Hashtag’s exuberance draining to his circuits. The oldest of the new batch, he’s the de facto leader, and while well meaning, his slightly abrasive demeanor is off putting to his teammates. Like his namesake, he possesses literal firepower, and is hard to take down, always getting back up when it looks like he might be down for the count. His vehicle mode is based on a car Grahm fancied back at his Uncle Sparkplug’s garage.
Landhammer: Bonded to Thompson. A gentle Gorillabot, who enjoys reading and tabletop gaming. He’s good friends with Nightshade and Jawbreaker, due to their shared interests. The muscle of the group and a natural protector, he prefers defense over offense, despite having a punch strong enough to shatter the likes of Groundpounder’s arm. Has some degree of mastery over earth and can cause fissures and quakes with a punch or stomp.
Nightscream: Bonded to Meister. Shares Meister’s love of music, and has a particular interest in opera, perhaps influenced by Meister’s memories of Cyberverse Soundwave’s own love of Cybertronic opera. Has a bit of a rebellious bad boy streak that masks his insecurities, comparable to RiD15 Sideswipe. Openly gay and a bit of a flirt, but hasn’t found a Transformer he particularly likes yet. His best friend among the Maltobots is Thrash. Enjoys flustering male Decepticons with his flirty side to catch them off guard in a fight, though the tables can be turned when a Decepticon genuinely reciprocates back at him. Specializes in sound and sonic based attacks, making him a natural rival to EarthSpark Soundwave. Has a form of Mode Attachment and can usually be found in his Beast Mode.
Abhorrus: Bonded to Maddie. Functionally the daughter to Maddie’s previous partner Repugnus, and shares much of the Monsterbot’s schematics and personality traits. Naughty, hyperactive and mischievous, but a good kid all around. Her closest friends among the Maltobots are Twitch and Hashtag. While powered by Quintus Prime blessed water like other Terrans, Abhorrus enjoys Energon drinks, particularly K-Juice, and loves Pepsi products, and can usually be found with a drink in hand. Likes to get her hands dirty, and is usually the one to commit an act the other Terrans and Autobots are reluctant to do. Has casually bragged about off lining other Decepticons, and doesn’t trust them, being uneasy about EarthSpark Megatron due to awareness of other versions of Megatron because of Maddie’s memories of the Legacy Wars. Packs a powerful Cybervenom in her Beast Mode’s tail that can force an enemy into Stasis Lock after a couple bites.
Leon: Cyclone Mini-Con bonded to Optimus Prime. Calm, wise, but not afraid to show his softer, sillier side to compliment CV Optimus’ stoicism. Originally from Cyberverse, but has partnered with the local ES Optimus to better coordinate with the two sets of Terrans and their human partners. Was originally a star Baske-Trek player on pre-war Cybertron alongside Orion Pax until a humiliating defeat saw the two retire from the sport until their Earth adventures. Has a bit of trouble fully connecting with ES Optimus due to different universal circumstances such as this Optimus being more of Cube player.
