favorites of all time!

way way way back when i set up a spam account so i could send myself things i wanted to read later. essentially turning that chat into my TBR. i have sorted through them & i think the first thing to do with this rebrand is to give you a list of my favorite fics of all time. below you will find a list of my favorite reads with their writers & a smol why for it making the list. these are in no particular order. please enjoy!

from the last 7 years, i have chosen 20 fics that i LOVE. here we go.

from @deansdirtylittlesecretsblog we have a story i remember getting me excited about what kind of writing could be on tblr. "the arrangement" a lost love fic. 9 parts of love & angst.

2. @sis-tafics out here with a sweet sweet physical innocence trope with the hottie dean winchester. "our little secret"

3. @hrina wrote such a beautiful H. Styles fic about his character in dunkirk. "Il Ritorno" is the first part of 3 fics. i love the little coming home to a new place & new people plot.

4. @supernatural-jackles is the author of one of the only fics to make me cry. "hey handsome" i remember reading this sobbing because i felt the emotions written into this SO deeply. I reached out to them & let them know how much i loved it. & i still love it so to this day.

5. @winchest09 is adding our first dark fic to this list. the slow burn on this one is so so so so good. i found this one a long long time ago & i would say it is one of the first fics that got me to explore the mafia verse "life for rent"

6. @negans-lucille-tblr is giving us another spoicy series up in here & it even has a sequal!!!!! (look down one) the ultimate D/s winchester series. it's oh so good! "you've got me beggin"

7. & for the sequel "Mercy" this series is so good i have re-read both 2-3 times. it felt like crack the first read on both of these lol.

8. oh oh oh okay! this next. one from @pink1031 is probably one of my absolute favorite stucky series. "our best girl" was the fic that sent me down a rabbit hole of stucky fics. i was addicted after this one.

9. @pink1031 is back at it again with the ONE fic on this list i know i have read a minimum of 6 times. it is THAT good. "dirty little secret" was so scandalous and sexy. a J2 fic that had me coming back for more all the time. my escapism really shined with this one.

10. i remember finding "lemon drop" by @impala-dreamer i love the dynamic written here between Sam Winchester x the reader. the intimacy in this one-shot is beautiful. this is something i wish i could have at the end of my days or when i feel like the world is too heavy. i felt seen through this fic.

11. @tuiccim 's style of writing is something i adore & admire. I fell in love through "almost had me believing it" it is truly a work of art. I was immersed into this undercover mission with my man BUCKY BARNES.

12. oh & another from @tuiccim with "Terrigenisis" this is such a good poly-stucky fic. the way it was written felt like it could have been canon.

13. WOAH now! this next one written by @world-of-aus is ICONIC. the universe that is "starkhub" is just so delectable. i remember when it was being published in the beginning i was like a dog with a bone. i will never get enough. I can't wait to see where else it gets taken.

14. this next one is quite possibly one of my favorite mob fics. I have linked the first installment of these lovely smutty stucky fics. "tell me what you want" is the first step into such a delicious universe. thank you @angrythingstarlight for all you write.

15. an absolute banger from @sagechanoafterdark with "codename: Lazarus". i can't exclaim loud enough how good this one is. it had me on the edge of my seat. so dynamic. the order in which you read the parts for this one changes the perspective. don't worry they have put an excellent order at the bottom of the masterlist. :)

16. @avintagekiss24 i wanna start out by saying that I love the space you have created with your blog. when i found "lay me down in the tall-green grass" i thought i found fanfic heaven. i will cherish it always. i kept coming back to this one-shot to relive it as much as possible.

17. i've been thinking about "stained like georgia clay" by @georgiapeach30513 a lot lately. i remember binge-reading it & soaking up every droplet of goodness i could. ;) & that thunderstorm scene 🥵. i'll leave you with that...

18. here lies the "howling comandos tattoo au" that altered my brain chemistry just a little. @navybrat817 stole my heart long before this one dropped. however, this au had me sitting patiently waiting with my hands folded.... um no i was mentally ON MY KNEES.

19. i can confidently say that @georgiapeach30513 's "you were the one" is my favorite Lloyd hansen series ever. i crave a fics that are this good. it all started from a one-shot & then i found out a prequel was being written to it & i screamed in excitement.

20. A quality fic that i have had actual dreams about in the past. comes from @themhoodgirlz . for my 5sos girlies out there "close" tingles my brain in the right ways. i reminisce about the dynamic these two have. years ago when i was a BIG 5sos stan i lowkey hoped & dreamed for that to be me lol.

alright, alright, alright. that concludes my first rec list. Well, about Barbie...

I think it was a good movie, but just nothing more, it didn't leave me with anything I didn't know? I don't know, because I really like everything but at the same time I just enjoyed in an okey level.

My favorite things were:

Barbie existencial crisis.

I feel the whole arc of Barbie feeling human was really beautiful, Barbie was able to feel human in every way you could think, in both, positive and negative ways because there's not a middle term.

Her scenes crying feeling the emotions, thinking about the death and questioning her body was really great.

Ken's character arc

For people hating him, I did really understand his character a lot and (please don't call me pick me), even I feel a little relatable to some of his questions.

I think a lot of people just kinda ignored his character arc in order to reduce the morality and just put a good vs bad debate but they don't realize that Ken wasn't just like that since the beginning, he felt frustrated for living in a world were his presence was dismished and reduced to look for a female approbation, the same with the patriarchy does with the woman, Ken was living in the same way.

He didn't know who he was because they have always assume they should be accesories and nothing more, without personality or interests.

When he came to the real world, he got so excited to see him being respected and taking account that he started doing the same in resentment towards the barbie.

I think that's why Barbie apologize to Ken (even that I also think Ken should apologize as well) but she realize that Ken wouldn't do that if they just took him account since the beggining.

Matriarchy vs Patriarchy

Talking about the same, I like the way the movie told us that none of these systems are good or healthy. It pushed both of the genders of certain expectations that ended up hurting everyone.

I don't understand how some men were so upset when it's clearly that the movie talks about both of these system.

In both system you are reducing the other gender ignoring their thoughts, feelings and persona, which create social resentment and will end up bad.

For the matriarchy, it pushes to the Barbies being 24/7 perfect.

For the patriarchy, it pushes the Kens to be emotional represses.

That's what the movie is mocking as well, the toxic masculinity due to trying to always win in the system they create.

Another thing that I didn't understand why men were so upset. The movie made clear that you need habilities and capacities to do things, it's not just enough with being men, you need to study, work and effort as well but it's their own system that benefits them more for doing the same thing that women do as well.

The originality in direction.

I really liked the whole direction of the movie, the narrator, the way some jokes were complementate by the direction as well like that mattel advertisment about barbie beinf depressed, the transition and toy style.

I found it pretty great and new to see and also realky funny.

The music.

Well, there's nothing more to say, pretty good in everything. My favorite was What I was made for by Billie Eillish, grea song and great timing.

The good and bad in Barbie.

I really like the way aknowledge both senses, since the part of creating stereotypes, consumism and parody that a feminist doll is directed by a bunch of white men was a great and brave step but also to the part of inpiring millions of kid to be what they want to be no matter what other said.

Now the things I wasn't a big fan.

I wish Barbie would stayed more in the real world.

I feel they could use the opportunity to talk more about the social issues aside from the parodies or the speeches. Like the initial harrasment that Barbie had to went through was really fast and for them talking about this topic leave me with a feeling that the movie should take itself a more serious cases and explored more the world.

The scene when the mom gave her speech to Barbie and they started taking every Barbie with them and giving them little speech to recover them. I think they could do better if the mom just did a whole big speech to the whole Barbieland and they wake themeselves up and started supporting and turning against the kens by their own, I think it would mean that even with men around us, that doesn't mean we can't have a personality with ideas and thoughts and it would gave a stronger empowerment scene.

Ken's lack of apology, he also had to apology.

I feel they explored the topics in a really superficial way, not only that but mostly of the characters with tje exception of Ken and Barbie does not have a character arc, especially the mother and daighter, I think they could explore more their character and they did a little with the mother but not with the daughter.

Now, my personal opinion.

My family told me I was expecting too much nd maybe they were right because the whole debate and publicity, I was expecting more. It's not a perfect movie but it's not bad either.

At the beggining I thought we were going to talk about a sexual harrasment case were the kid modificate her Barbie because of that and barbie crying in sadness understanding those feelings was something really makes me feel sad.

Obviously that didn't end up like that but i create false expectations from a couple of scenes so that was my fault lol hahaha

About the white feminist, I am gonna try to just ignored because it's Barbie and Mattel what can we expect in a movie about a doll but I just want people to stop putting it as a good thing. POC and minorities shouldn't have to be a minimun topic to talk and explored in a little way, we shouldn't have to be conformed with so few okay?

I am gonna ignored but I am not forgetting that some of these women that right now are taking about sorority and girls supporting girl, before they were attacking another POC women just because they dislike their races and bodyshamed other women in the same way.

Criticism, validation of opinions and sorority.

I get a lot of men are basically stupid and making stupid mysogistic comments but some criticsm are valid, Barbie is not a perfect movie, accept criticism, especially if another women is making it.

Because I had seen people attacking anyone, including woman, that said that the movie is not perfect and that's literally the completely opposite meaning of the movie.

How do you think y'all are looking like when you tell another women they didn't understand the movie and that their opinions and experiences are invalid because they just didn't like a movie?

You are doing the same shit the men do when they are mansplaining, so please stop doing it and respect people's thoughts.

I did understand the movie, I did feel related in some aspects as well, but that doesn't mean that define my personal taste and opinion, so please don't reduce me for that.

*a/n this is the 3rd update of my Holiday Series, I’m sorry it took me so long to update this series! But I’ve gotten back into the swing of writing again so I’ll be doing more regular updates! As always I hope you enjoy this and please tell me your thoughts!*

You wouldn’t say you loved Valentine’s Day, but you also wouldn’t go around saying how much you hated it and that it’s just a giant corporate scam made up by the greeting card business. It was just like any other day and if you were being quite honest, it often came and went without you really giving it much attention besides noticing the extra splashes of red and pinks around town and the obscene amount of roses on sale at the supermarket by your house. This of course might have to do with the fact you always seemed to be single around this time of year, this year sadly being no different.

“Are you going to just stand there or are you going to help me decorate?” Gina’s annoyed voice brought you out of your thoughts and back to reality, which at the moment involved you helping decorate the office for the annual Valentine’s Day party.

You were shocked to say the least when you got the email sent by Niall reminding everyone that the party would end at six, giving everyone enough time to go home and get ready for whatever they had planned for the evening with their significant other. Niall just never struck you as the type that celebrated every holiday, or at least not at the office, but for all you know his house could be decked out in red and pink hearts and have vases full of roses on every surface or maybe he’s just someone who loves the idea of love and wants to spread it around the office. Either way you loved any excuse to ditch your desk and enjoy free food.

“Any plans for tonight?” You asked in attempts to get your mind from wondering off into the dream like state it often went into when you started thinking about how Niall was outside of work. The only glimpse of non work Niall you’ve gotten so far was at Gina’s New Year’s Eve party and if that was anything to go off of you figured you’d quite enjoy some time with Niall outside of work.

“Wine and some Jersey Shore.” You laughed as she shot you a wink as she reached for a string of pink paper hearts. “I don’t really do the whole going out on Valentine’s Day, and it’s not because I hate the idea of it or anything.” She trailed off as she placed her hand on the back of her desk chair, that she’d dragged around the office as she decorated, before stepping up onto it so she could tape the string of hearts above the entryway to the lobby where the party would be taking place in a few minutes.

“Jack didn’t ask you out did he?” You asked as you reached up and handed her another piece of tape, she let out a huff and shrugged.

“No, the asshole said he had to help his mom move a couch or something.” You tried to hold back you chuckle as you reached your hand out for Gina to grab so you could help her down off the chair. “I know he’s full of shit you don’t have to tell me.” You just rubbed your lips together and looked around the lobby. You had to give it to Gina, if the whole assistant thing didn’t work out she could be a pretty decent party planner, she just had a knack for throwing up some decorations and somehow making it look amazing.

“Looks bloody great Gina,” Niall’s deep voice made the both of you jump before turning around to see Niall shaking his head and chuckling to himself. You took this moment to take in Niall’s appearance, his black slacks and red button down with the top few buttons undone letting you get the tiniest glimpse of his chest hair made you smile as you realized you’d never seen Niall in any other colors besides black, white, gray or navy. “Ya like da shirt? Is it a bit much?” He asked as he caught you eyeing him over once more making your cheeks get warm as you felt a blush creep up on you.

“Red? How is red a bit much? It’s just red.” Gina answered with a laugh making Niall roll his eyes. “Dressed up for someone special?” Gina asked as you looked away from Niall and down at your feet silently cursing yourself for not painting your toes last night even though you knew you’d be wearing open toed sandals.

“What I can’t dress up for me own office party? M’jus in a festive mood is all.” With that he shot Gina a wink as he walked past us and into the lobby to make sure everything was running smoothly.

An hour or so later you somehow managed to find yourself standing alone by one of the big windows that overlooked the parking lot with a half empty glass of wine in your hand as you watched people dance around and have a good time. Gina had wondered off to find more of the homemade brownies Stephanie from accounting had made, leaving you with nothing to do but sip on what was left of your wine and people watch.

“Ah der she is,” Niall all but shouted as he maneuvered his way through the crowded makeshift dance floor. You gave him a warm smile as he made eye contact with you, that’s when you noticed something seemed a little odd. “Been lookin fo ya, heard Gina practically beggin Stephanie for her brownie recipie.” Your eyes trailed down his arm and you felt your heart drop to your stomach when you saw there was a hand with pretty pink nails intertwined with his.

“Oh uh yeah she’s obsessed with those things.” You explained in a sheepish tone, annoyed with yourself that the sight of him holding someone else’s hand had this type of effect on you. Niall gave you an odd look when you reached your hand out towards the woman who’s hand was still in his, she looked you up and down and gave you what you swore was the fakest smile you’d ever been on the receiving end of. “Hi, lovely to meet you.” You gave her your name making Niall’s cheeks get red as he dropped her hand so she could shake yours.

“Same.” You gave her a tight lipped smile as she limply shook your hand as Niall looked around while rubbing the back of his neck, something you knew he did when he was anxious or nervous. But for once in the whole three months you’ve worked for him you didn’t care to make him feel any better, this was a situation he put himself in so he could figure out how to handle it on his own.

“Dis is Melanie,” You just nodded your head as Niall looked between you and Melanie. Niall rubbed his lips together as Melanie tilted her head and ruffled her brows as if the wheels were turning and things were starting to click in her mind.

“Is she the one who got you the planner?” You felt your mouth drop open a bit as Niall turned three shades of red as Melanie looked up at him with a raised eyebrow. You had to act like the fact Niall told this girl about the gift you had gotten him for the office Christmas party didn’t make you feel a mixture of proud of your give giving skills and hurt over the realization that it meant he knew her back then and that meant he also knew her during New Years.

“Yes, she’s da one.” He explained making Melanie just nod her head as she eyed you up and down making you regret not dressing up for the party as her eyes paused briefly on your skinny jeans making her lips purse as she trailed down to your sandals and you just knew she’d make a face at your unpainted toes. “She’s really good at uh organizin and stuff.” You wanted to laugh, of off the things Niall could’ve complimented you on he picked how organized you were.

“Speaking of being organized I just remembered,” you looked down at your wrist that very obviously didn’t have a watch on it, and gave it a wide eyed look as if it was telling you that you were running late. “I have a date tonight and I need to go get ready, can’t go have a romantic night out dressed like this right?” You didn’t know what had come over you as you gestured to your skinny jeans and sandals and gave a chuckle. All while Niall just looked at you with what you would’ve taken as a look of defeat just a few hours ago, before you knew he was dating the girl standing next to him with her hand wrapped around his forearm looking anywhere but at you.

“Ya jus remembered ya have a date?” Niall asked as he ran a hand through his hair making you internally swoon because it made it go all fluffy and you loved it when it wasn’t all styled and was just left to do its own thing. “Mustn’t be dat great of a bloke if ya forgot bout yer Valentine’s Day date.” He joked making your swooning come to a halt as you glared at him making him begin to regret the words he just said.

“He’s wonderful, he’s very honest and doesn’t act single when he really isn’t.” You snapped before you finished off the wine that was in your glass all while Niall just stared at you with wide eyes as he swallowed hard and quickly glanced over to Melanie who was bust distracted by something on her phone.

“Ah ya honesty s’a big deal.” Niall looked from Melanie to you as you placed the empty wine glass on the table behind you. “How do ya know how he acts when yer not round? He could very well act single cos you two might not be official so he’s free ta act however he pleases.” You felt a wave of annoyance take over because he was talking about himself, as if he was trying to tell you that him and the girl attached to his arm weren’t official as if that was supposed to make you feel any better about this whole extremely awkward situation.

“He’s not like that, he wouldn’t kiss someone else while we are dating. He knows that’s not okay.” You tried your hardest not to let your emotions get the best of you but Niall was really making you struggle to keep your cool.

“He would if it was jus a little New Year’s Eve good luck one,” Niall began and you felt your heart drop as if you knew what the next words out of his mouth were going to be. “Didn’t mean anythin, jus a little peck is all.” He shrugged before looking down at Melanie who looked up at him with a smile, you just nodded your head and quickly turned and headed for where you knew Gina was at bothering poor Stephanie about her brownies. Niall watched you wonder off and he had to fight the urge to run after you and tell you how big of an idiot he was but Melanie gave his arm a squeeze and began walking towards another group of people making him have to watch as you disappeared in the crowd from over his shoulder.

“Hey!” Gina was a few glasses of wine in and all smiles when you finally found her dancing by herself on an empty section of the dance floor. “Uh oh what’s wrong? Your vibes are a little hostile.” She asked as she stopped dancing and raised an eyebrow at you making you just let out a sad sigh.

“Melanie.” Was all you said and Gina’s face turned into one of pure shock but it was as if she knew the name already, you gave her a weird look as she just finished off her wine and motioned you to follow her as she headed for the bar.

“She’s here?” Gina asked making you feel as if you were the only one in the whole office who didn’t know this woman existed until tonight. “Why would he bring her here?” She added and you just shrugged as the bartender filled her glass up with red wine.

“I don’t even know who she is.” You answered and Gina just nodded, she let out a sigh as she handed you the wine glass as if she knew you’d need it for what she was about to fill you in on.

“He’s known her for a while now, they met at one of our team building outings.” Gina started and you just nodded as you took a sip of the wine. “She was the one who set the event up and they just hit it off i guess. But he never really mentioned her but she’d be in the background of some of his insta stories or she’d post a selfie with him here and there but it never seemed serious at all.” You felt as if someone just punched you in the gut as Gina explained everything to you, of course Niall would be seeing someone. You felt dumb for ever thinking a man like Niall; a man who owned his own company, traveled around the world and looked as if he just walked off the set of a GQ cover shoot to be single.

“Well it seems serious now.” You mumbled making Gina’s mouth droop down into a pout as she reached over and rubbed your arm in a soothing motion as you took another sip of wine. “He told her about me giving him the planner for Christmas.” Gina paused her movements and you just nodded your head while finishing off the glass of wine. “Yup she asked me if i was the girl who gave him the planner, like what does that even mean?” You asked as you turned around and motioned to the bartender to refill your glass.

“What the actual hell?” Gina ran a hand through her hair trying to make sense of the whole situation. “That’s so weird, but on the bright side that means he loved your gift so much he told people about it.” You just shot her a glare making her shrug as you got handed a full glass of red wine.

“I’m so happy he loved my gift so much he told his girlfriend about it.” You snapped making Gina just roll her eyes as you took a giant gulp of your wine. “Wonder if he liked our kiss so much that he told her about that as well.” You mumbled and Gina’s eyes went wide and her jaw dropped as she playfully smacked your arm making you realize you hadn’t shared that bit of information with her even though it happened in her very own backyard.

“I’m sorry your what?” Gina whispered as she leaned in closer to you as if she was worried some of your coworkers would hear the conversation. “Did you say kiss? Like you two kissed? Lips on lips?” You giggled as she wiggled her eyebrows as she spoke.

“It was at New Years and he said it didn’t mean anything it was just for good luck.” You explained making Gina just let out a scoff as she shook her head disagreeing with your statement.

“That’s bullshit and we all know it. No grown man kisses someone he doesn’t want to kiss. Not even if it’s just for good luck or whatever stupid excuse he tries to come up with.” You wanted to believe her, you really did but she wasn’t there and she didn’t see the look on Niall’s face when he dismissed the kiss as something not to be taken serious.

“It didn’t mean anything Gina,” you snapped making you feel bad for taking your anger at Niall out on her. “I told him I had a date tonight. Can I get any more lame?” Gina just chuckled as she wrapped her arm over you shoulder and pulled you into her side.

“I know Nate from the I.T department thinks you’re cute want me to set it up?” She teased as you rested the side of your head against hers.

“Nate? Blonde Nate?” You asked as you looked around the room and smiled as you spotted Nate at the dessert table talking to Angelina from marketing. “He’s cute.” You admitted making Gina just laugh as Nate turned and made eye contact with you and offered a smile and a wave that you gladly returned.

“I smell a new romance.” You just laughed as you and Gina headed towards the lobby of the office so you both could get your things and head home. You looked over your shoulder to give Nate one last smile and you couldn’t help but notice his cheeks go a light shade of pink.

“It’s just a new air freshener,” You joked as you got your phone out and raised an eyebrow as you saw you had a missed call and voicemail from a number you didn’t recognize. “It’s called love and sunshine.” You added as you just cleared your home screen making the alerts disappear and sliding your phone back into your purse.

“Shut up, you’re so annoying.” Gina teased as she tossed her purse strap over her shoulder. “But I love you.” She smiled at you as she wrapped her arms around you in a tight hug.

“Happy Valentine’s Day Gina,” you told her as you pulled away. “Love you, see you tomorrow. Tell Jack he’s an asshole for me.” Gina just laughed as you walked towards the front door of the office building, you blew her a dramatic kiss before exiting and making your way towards the street to wait for your Uber.

“Hey,” You turned and saw Nate making his way over to you. “Uh I was just wondering if you uhm had plans for tonight?” You smiled at him as he nervously shoved his hands into his front pockets when he finally reached you.

“No,” You answered and Nate gave you almost a look of shock making you chuckle. “What about yourself?” You asked making him just laugh and shake his head no.

“Do you wanna grab a drink?” He asked just as your car arrived, you felt your phone buzzing in your purse but you ignored it as Nate opened the door of the car for you.

“Sure, I was going to go to the place down the street for dinner you want to join me?” You asked and Nate gave you a grin as you got into the car and slid over giving him room to get in himself.

“Yeah, sure.” He answered as he got in the car after you. “I can’t believe you don’t have plans on Valentine’s Day.” He states making you just shrug as the driver began heading towards the little diner down the street.

“Well now we both have plans.” Nate just smiled and nodded his head as you took your phone out and noticed you had another missed call from the same number that had left you a voicemail from earlier. You gave Nate a small smile as you pressed play and brought the phone up to your ear to listen to the voicemail.

“M’sorry. It didn’t jus mean nothin, m’a bloody idiot. Jus call me back yeah?” Niall’s voice coming through the phone made your heart beat faster, you looked at Nate who was typing away on his phone making you feel relieved that he was distracted so you could get your emotions under control. You just shook your head and deleted the voicemail and shoved your phone back into your purse determined to make the best out of this evening because it’s Valentine’s Day after all and you deserved to have a good time without the thoughts of Niall floating around your head.

hi everyone !! this is vic n i’m super excited to get started . i introduce u to regina, a character i’ve been in love with since the first time i saw the movie . here are some bullet points about her .

after finishing highschool , regina chose to study fashion at a top university in new york . everything was fine at first , but she eventually got bored and she decided it was time for a change of scenery . fashion world was all about change and regina thought it would be a great idea to go to europe and get inspired . that’s how she ended up transferring to the london college of style .

she wants to make it big in the fashion industry , to be more than just another name on the list . her main goal is to be the next anna wintour , but she will settle with an internship at vogue for now . one step at a time . currently , regina runs a succesful fashion blog and she has a good looking follower count on instagram , which brought her many sponsorships and she eventually started to receive invitations for important fashion shows and vip events . there is nothing more important to her than to achieve her goals and she will never let anyone stand in her way of doing so .

personality-wise , she is still the same rude , spoiled brat as before . the major difference is that she learned how important loyalty is and she cares deeply for her friends . however , this doesn’t mean they don’t get snide remarks from her . she is always surrounded by people , her phone is always buzzing . you would think she has a never-ending list of friends , but , in fact , she doesn’t trust most of them . she has many contacts and buddies , but few friends . she likes going out late , she loves the nightlife and more than that , she loves trouble and it seems to follow her wherever she goes . 

she likes people with an attitude , people who aren’t afraid to say what’s on their mind . give her a good challenge and she’ll take it for sure . she can hardly say no to temptation . she is a natural flirt , but don’t take her seriously unless you want to get your heart broken . to prevent this from happening , regina always states her intentions right from the beggining . this way , she won’t be held accountable for anything , since she made herself clear from the start . she likes people with influence and power , people who can make her feel like she’s on top of the world .

but she also has a soft spot for delicate , innocent ones . and she tends to get overprotective when it comes to such people . that , of course , if they can take her daily dose of rudeness .

deep down , she wants to have the adventure of her life , but even though she claims she loves to take risks , she is afraid of falling in love . she is scared that if she gets too close to someone , she might end up hurt , she might end up not having the upper hand and that terrifies her , so she would rather stay away from love . however , she likes the feeling of freedom , the great unknown , and she’s definitely the type of girl you’d see running away in a getaway car with god knows who , going god knows where . it’s all fun and games ,  right ? she is really trying to live the best this life can give her .

hey there!! thanks for the kind words, I’m really hopin to get more drawings (yes including Deponia fanart because I just Can Not Stop Ever) out eventually, but in the meantime let’s see if I can help you out!!

as a disclaimer, I’m a relatively new working artist myself and I’m still trying to get a handle on freelance/commissions/etc. (right now I mostly do them privately/with people I’ve already worked with) but hopefully I can give you some advice! (other artist followers, feel free to add on/chime in if you have any corrections or additions!!)

for accounts! as far as I can tell PayPal is probably the best for freelance/commission work, as it’s relatively user-friendly and the one most people are likely to have and use to send money. but!! it is very VERY important that you use PayPal’s invoice system to request money from your clients! PayPal has rules and regulations in place regarding goods and services sold through their system, sending payments as “gifts” to avoid fees, etc, and you can get slapped with some nasty fines if you or a customer breaks the rules without realizing!! invoices are the best way for you to request exactly how much money you need, and exactly how you want it to be paid, so there’s no room for error. here’s a post on how to do invoices on PayPal!!

as for prices, no, you don’t have to have all the same prices from the beginning! your prices are naturally going to vary and change depending on the complexity of the art and your own skill level. you won’t charge as much as a new artist as you will as a 10-year pro, and you won’t charge as much for, say, a sketch as you would a fully-painted illustration. the most important thing is just to make sure you’re not under-charging for your work, which is a mistake a lot of people make starting out! (I’m certainly guilty of it; even recently I’ve charged nearly half of what I probably should have charged for a piece)

the best way to figure out prices (especially when you’re first starting out) is to take whatever minimum wage is in your area, multiply it by how many hours it takes you to make a piece, and that should be your kind of base price! (for example, if minimum wage is about $15/hr, and it takes you 5 hours to do an inked flat-color drawing, you should be charging around $75 for that!) obviously you can adjust it based on what you’re drawing, your audience, your skillset, etc., but it’s a good way to start determining what’s the right price

other advice I can give you off the top of my head:

determine how many pieces you can handle making at one time, and make that your strict limit! don’t take on more than you can handle, especially not right at the start

if you are, like me, an Adult who has to do stuff like taxes and junk, keep track of how much you’re earning and how many jobs you’re taking! also keep in mind that, if you earn money from freelance/commissions, you may be able to claim materials you use (anything from paints to a creative cloud subscription) as work expenses! I’m not like a Tax Expert though, so talk to someone who knows what they’re doing first mmkay

if you end up doing freelance or commission work at like, a Professional Level (say, someone hires you to illustrate the cover of their book), it’s Extremely Important to work out all the terms BEFORE you start working and potentially even draw up a contract, so you don’t get stiffed outta payment, go uncredited, etc.

Heck, even if you’re just doing commissions for tumblr folks, work out what you are and aren’t comfortable with them doing with the finished product and discuss it before the job! are you ok with them getting the drawing printed to hang up in their house? are you ok with them posting the drawing on their various social medias or would you rather you post the original and tag them? are you going to want to use this in a portfolio, and if so is the customer ok with that? basically just don’t leave anything to chance

overall make sure to remember that you are the artist and you have a say in how this stuff goes down! if a customer is pressuring you to make lots of changes really suddenly? if they’re asking you to draw something you don’t think you can handle? if they’re yelling at you for being “too expensive”? you don’t have to deal with that! turn them down politely and move on with your life!!

anyway hoo boy sorry for the rant but I hope some of this helped!! there are probably many other artists who follow me or who you follow who can give you even better advice for starting commissions too, but regardless I hope your arting career goes awesome!!
