ok y'all ive been rereading chain of gold and i just really wanna comment on the fact that charles is apparently a really good actor
like, im about 100 pages in and the amount of times every single other character has been like "oh charles absolutely dotes on ariadne" "oh charles is so in love with her" "he only has eyes for her" etc is astounding to me. i was under the impression that this man was the absolute WORST at everything but apparently he really sold the whole being in love with ariadne thing and idk why this is so funny to me but it is
