I happen to he old enough and from a country that had a strong racist skinhead presence in 90s and 00s to remember how even old people who had 0 interest in this kinda music first reaction to hearing the word punk was 'them and skinheads always beating each other up'. When u were lets say 12 and wanted to wear patches of like antifascist/anarchist punk bands sometimes u felt like you have to watch your back. So i just find it so useless and performative to post this whole 'ur nor punk if ur right wing' shit ONLINE and act like you are doing some meaningful activism and these people are just going to disappear off the face of the earth (skinheads came from punk, their music is just street punk/oi/early hardcore)
