In which my Sith Inquisitor continues her trend of taking in wretched alien kids, but this time the word 'kid' is not at all hyperbolic or condescending, and also I firmly believe Andronikos Revel is a big fucking softie. (I mean he'll kill you. but assuming he doesn't want to. softie.) (fuck it i've had this written for eons and i'm not about to get my personal canon of what's happening with the Empire any clearer than this until i have decent internet again so. just handwave any nods to what's happening politically and look at Exchei and Andronikos adopting a baby)
“Andronikos,” was the first thing she said over the holo. He leaned back, one eyebrow raised. The sharpness of her tone was nothing new. The thinly-veiled excitement on her face was.
“Hello, Sith,” he said. “You miss me that bad? I thought your bounty hunter dropped by the other day.”
It was always fun to see her reaction when he needled her about Rig. They ranged from impatience to teasing to the occasional fond smile – that last not so frequent Andronikos ever felt much more than his own fondness for her. This time, though, the joke seemed to go completely unnoticed.
“As I recall, you offered to help me train my apprentices or raise any children I might have.”
He couldn’t help but sit up straighter.
“He knocked you up?” he growled. It wasn’t that he was jealous. He’d just always figured, if anyone was going to, he’d like to be the one to do it. Or the first one, anyway. Andronikos was smart enough to know that if Exchei got it into her head to have a bunch of little baby Siths, there’d be no stopping her.
Still.
“If you care about Rig that much, I can arrange a night for just the two of you,” Exchei said irritably. “Would you focus? I’ve found a child.”
“You – found a child,” he repeated. “Exchei, you’ve lost me.”
“Wrath shot my transport down again,” she said with a roll of her eyes. “I had to walk across half of Dromund Kaas. But I found an abandoned child!”
Some distant, foolish part of himself wanted to ask if she’d made sure the kid was abandoned. But this was Exchei – she had more pieces of a moral compass than anyone else in either half of this fractured Empire, except maybe Ashara. And Ashara had been picking pieces up of Exchei’s system for over a decade now, anyway.
“So you’re… keeping the kid you found in the trash,” he said.
“He wasn’t in the trash,” Exchei said scornfully. That familiar wicked humour sparked in her eyes as she smirked at him. “He was hidden behind it.”
Andronikos groaned.
“Half your own council is gunning for you,” he said. “Without your civil war with Wrath getting into the mix. That kid won’t last much longer in the Sith Stronghold or sanctum or whatever you call it than he would have out on the streets.”
Exchei tipped her head to the side, still visibly amused. Not a bad thing – he’d half expected his protest to prompt a round of pissed-off lightning – but unexpected. And a little patronising.
“What?” he growled. “What am I missing here?”
“I already asked you,” she said. “Did you really want to help me with my children?”
Oh.
Maybe it made him an idiot, but he hadn’t thought about that until this moment. Andronikos had been maybe too traditional in his expectations – a busted condom, maybe a ward taken in after another Council member was assassinated, apprentices like Xalek and Ashara. Something he could expect.
He suddenly wanted to see this boy more than anything in the galaxy. Not that he was necessarily ready to make some snot-nosed infant call him “dad” or anything, but – but it was Exchei’s kid, apparently. Andronikos had decided that would make a kid his, too, long before the option was real.
“I’ll be there,” he said. “Nobody knows about him yet, right?”
“I think Wrath’s spies have told her,” Exchei said, her lip curling. “But we both know Vette would never let her hurt a child.”
Andronikos didn’t want to let a child’s fate rest on the ability of those two to communicate effectively, but at least that gave him time to finish the job and shove all his pirates off somewhere they wouldn’t bother him.
“Three days,” he said. Having learned his lesson after their time apart, he added, “I love you.”
Exchei’s smile came in many forms: vicious, calculating, smug, soothing. But the one that spread across her face so widely his own cheeks hurt to look at her?
That was his favourite.
“I love you, too,” she said.
The kid was smaller than he’d expected, and a Cathar surprisingly enough. Then again, it was Exchei. Of course she’d find an alien. At least this one was too young to be tormented like Ashara or murderous like Xalek.
“There you are,” Exchei said as soon as Andronikos entered her chambers. She strode toward him, settling the baby in his arms before he had a chance to say anything. And he was a baby. The points of the Cathar’s furry ears curled slightly, and he hadn’t even opened his eyes. Andronikos scowled.
“This kid was on the street?” he said angrily.
“I’ve looked for whatever shit excuse for a parent did that,” Exchei told him, sweeping back across her office to stand in front of the massive window. It looked down on Kaas City. Andronikos was sure similar windows existed so the Sith Lords who looked out of them could remember how strong they were. He also knew that for Exchei – for Darth Imperius – it was an exercise in making out every citizen’s face.
Especially the slaves.
“No luck?” he asked as he followed. The kid’s fur was patchy. Was he sick? Was that normal for babies? He hated to admit it, but he might have to contact Jorgan. Andronikos trusted an actual Cathar over the Imperial HoloNet any day, at least on this.
“No,” Exchei growled. Lightning arced off her fingers with a sharp pop, and she clenched her fist to still the Force. Andronikos bumped her with his shoulder, wishing he had enough hands to take her by the hips and pull her away from the window while still holding the kid.
“He had a blanket,” Exchei said. “His name was on it. Why would anyone leave a child like that?”
Andronikos had always been able to count on one hand the times she had sounded small. Reluctantly, in his mind’s eye, he put another finger up. Exchei didn’t give him a chance to say anything, though; her holocomm beeped, and with a roll of her eyes she turned away to answer it.
“So you’ve already got a name, huh, kid?” he mused as he waited. Exchei kept her voice low – either it was one of the rare calls from people she didn’t despise, or she was actively trying to keep a lid on her temper around the kid.
“Mah!” the kid said, flinging a tiny fist. Andronikos grinned.
For all that his furry, feline features were nothing like Exchei’s more humanoid looks, there was a strange sort of resemblance between them. His fur was a dark grey patterned with white, like the inverse of her pale tattooed skin. Baby fat rounded his cheeks out in a way that put Andronikos in mind of Exchei’s own soft frame, though there was no telling if the kid would hang on to that the way Exchei had. It made him wonder, though.
The blanket – the one the kid was loosely wrapped in, he realised – was nice quality. The kid wasn’t underfed. But if his parents were alive, they didn’t want him, and they didn’t want to be found. Andronikos sighed and shifted his grip on the kid, trying to get a look at the name embroidered on his blanket.
“Aidasta, huh?” he said. “Well, I guess you’ll carry on the Revel family tradition: long, shitty names that start with A.”
“Rrah,” Aidasta agreed. Andronikos stroked his hand over the kid’s tiny little head, helping the fur lay flat, and waited for his wife to be ready to talk again.
When she hung up the call and looked back at him, there was a strange look in her eyes.
“What do you think?” she asked. Andronikos realised he’d seen her make that face once before – the night they got hitched. After all their nights together, all the playtime and the sweet nothings and the danger they’d faced, she’d had a moment where she thought he’d cut her loose.
As if he ever could.
“I think the kid’s gonna need to learn his blasters early, growing up with us as parents,” he said. “We can’t all shoot lightning out of our asses.”
“You joke about that one more time, and I will invent the technique just to spite you,” she said.
He smirked at her. Like they hadn’t had a little Force-play before.
“Promise?”
She rolled her eyes.
“Thank you,” she said.
Andronikos could have reassured her, but he wasn’t that kind of man, and she’d hate to be so transparently vulnerable. He shifted Aidasta into the crook of one arm and used the other hand to tug her close, cupping her ass once she stood nearly flush with his chest.
“Don’t go thanking me for doing my job,” he said. “There are better ways to ruin your reputation.”
She smiled up at him, snaking one arm around his shoulders and letting her other hand rest on Aidasta’s head. With a fond glance at the baby, she pressed even closer.
“Later,” she said. “You’ll have to show me.”
She stepped back and he let her go reluctantly. Still. There was a baby now. Probably better to keep some things a little more private than they were used to.
Ashara would appreciate that. Maybe she’d take the kid when Andronikos and Exchei wanted some time together.
“You’re already plotting,” Exchei said fondly. “You have the same face when you’re planning to hit a ship as you do when you’re… what, exactly? Babyproofing the Fury?”
“Shit,” Andronikos said. He hadn’t even thought of that. “We gotta lock up your lightsabres.”

Untitled WIP for Virgil's birthday
Tumblr media
A little something I'm working on, featuring the soon-to-be Birthday Boy. Hope you enjoy!
---
"You're sure you've got everything?" Gordon asked as he passed Virgil his suitcase. "Got your toothbrush?"
"Yes, Gordon." Virgil replied, sliding the green suitcase into Tracy One's baggage compartment. Virgil was now ready to leave Tracy Island to attend the biggest Firefighter and First Responders gathering of the year.
"Deodorant?" Gordon continued.
"Yes."
"Extra underwear?"
"I have a sufficient amount to last the week, Gordon," Virgil replied while restraining himself from rolling his eyes. Logistics were one of his specialties for goodness' sake. You would think he knew how to pack a suitcase for a week-long trip.
A smirk appeared on Gordon's face. He leaned in closer and whispered in Virgil's ear. "Condoms?"
"GORDON!" While there were very few taboo discussion subjects between the brothers, the blond was very close to crossing a line here.
"What?" Gordon held up his hands trying to look innocent. "I've been to the Olympics, remember? I know what kind of funny business happens backstage at these events. The Olympic Village was not a kid-friendly place, let me tell you…"
Virgil sighed, trying not to think of Gordon's involvement in those backstage activities. He slammed the baggage hold door shut and he and Gordon walked toward the hangar entrance, where a few family members were waiting to see him off.
"All I'm saying is that you need to be prepared. You might meet someone and…"
"I'm not going there for a hookup, Gordon." Virgil defended.
"I know, I know. You're going to learn new firefighting techniques, to network with other first responders to allow better collaboration in the field and to improve IR public image." Gordon recited what he had heard Virgil say at least a hundred times in the past month.
"Exactly." Virgil smiled, happy that he hasn't been talking to thin air when explaining the purpose of this trip.
"And also…to fanboy all over Kip Harris for a week."
'Guilty as charged.' Virgil internally admitted. But how could you blame him? His childhood idol had asked him to be a Guest of Honor at one of the world's biggest firefighter conference. Anyone would be excited to spend a week socializing with the best in their field of work.

Gonna do some game reviews!
Heya people!
I’ve been doing some mindfulness practices to get myself to become less of a socially withdrawn workaholic and more of a lazy nerd again, and one thing I wanna try doing is game reviews! I wanna share my thoughts and totally legit ratings for games I’ve played, on one hand to give myself a reason to play them, on another to make myself actually remember them!
When reviewing games I have played, I review these aspects:
Content
Story
Characters
World (in terms of worldbuilding and credibility of the world in-universe)
Visuals
 Art direction
Graphics
Technical
Gameplay
Difficulty
Accessibility
 Ingenuity
Gimmick
Originality
I use stars to give them ratings:
☆☆☆☆☆ Just overall shitty, broken, uninspired and boring - not even meme worthy. Waste of my time!
★☆☆☆☆ Broken, uninspired and boring. Possibly still meme worthy? So bad it’s good?
★★☆☆☆ Not really enjoyable, but might contain some noteworthy ideas and concepts, which it failed to deliver
★★★☆☆ It’s ok, though fails to stand out. I will probably forget about it.
★★★★☆ Overall enjoyable and memorable. It may have some aspects I don’t like or find inconvenient, but not enough to stain the big picture.
★★★★★ Does everything right to cater to my tastes and catch both my undivided attention and interest, and leaves a lasting impression. If it has any flaws, they are insignificant in my bold opinion.
And today... we start with!!!
Tumblr media
I love birds, I love funny things with birds and I love birds in popular media. The Untitled Goose game is deffo up my alley in that sense.
 CONTENT: ★★★★★
This game practices a minimalistic manner in its storytelling and where the core story is simple, it has a surprising amount of depth to it told through the interactive environment with its many little details and characters. A lot of love has been poured into the neighbourhood that the Goose explores throughout the game, with each character entering the frame with a ton of personality and details about their lives, passions and hobbies. No words are spoken throughout the entire experience, yet it is rare treat to see a world so lively and alive within such a simplistic game. It never needed this much detail to be a good game, yet my never-ending thirst for immersion and storytelling in a game makes me appreciate it on a whole different level thanks to the extra effort.
VISUALS: ★★★★☆
Visually the game is very cute and pleasing. Flat base colors with sharp cartoon esque cel-shading is what I live for and I am shamefully easy to win over just by taking this route with any game’s art style. Beyond this, the objects, people and environment are all skilfully crafted, making them a joy to behold while managing to be bold and unique enough to strengthen the game’s visual identity. However, though I admit this is entirely a matter of personal tastes, I am not awarding the game with full 5 stars for visuals. While cute, unique and aesthetically pleasing, I feel like the graphics could still have dared to gone a bit further to give its looks an extra punch and make it all the more memorable for them.
TECHNICAL: ★★★☆☆
I like how interactive the world is! You can bite and drag just about any object around and have fun with your ability to honk and flap. In terms of the Goose’s skillset, the game has a nice amount of complexity to keep the experience fresh without becoming overwhelming. However, the Goose can be a pain in the ass to control at times and the objects can be a chore to get to land in the right place. Furthermore, while the game’s mechanics definitely work and achieve what they were intended for, they don’t really strike me as anything phenomenal or new. You mostly work by carrying stuff around, and the Goose’s ability to drag, carry and drop is not really what I will be remembering this game so fondly for.
INGENUITY: ★★★★★
I get to play as a cute goose and make lovable npcs’ life a living hell? Hell yes. The concept is hilarious and ingenious in all its simplicity and has the power to bring a smile to your face throughout the entire gaming experience. Originally I was intending to award this section four out of five stars but while typing this I came to a realization I did not have really anything negative to say about the originality or the core gimmick of this game. I sure wouldn’t know how to improve it; the Untitled Goose game has secured its spot within the gaming community for a reason and, in my humble opinion, its ingenuity is to thank for it.
 OVERALL: ★★★★☆
A fun, memorable low-effort game to get you both hooked and lift your rainy mood.

BDRP 2020 QUESTIONNAIRE
Your Name: Jean
Characters: Lachlann “Launchpad” MacNab
Pick one of your characters and talk about their growth. What about their story has surprised you? What are you proud of? How have they changed from their original inception to now?
Well, Launchpad is relatively new so he’s still pretty much the same as I envisioned him from the start-
-though I’ll admit that the idea of him having an enormous crush on Seamus/Scrooge was a surprise. I think it only took a couple of little chats with Sav and familiarizing myself with Seamus’ story for him to go “yes!! that’s the one I love!! let me at him!!”.
The funny thing is that it just kind of happened but also has a degree of canonicity to it; Granted, Ducktales ‘17 (the canon that got me into the Duckverse) didn’t delve a whole lot on the relationship those two have...but Ducktales ‘87 does and it’s fucking beautiful.
But I didn’t know that! I was just familiar with the newest canon -exploring the relationship led me to the older canon and I absolutely love it! I love the way the older version of LP is equal parts silly and capable and I try my best to express that nice balance on my interpretation.
And I wouldn’t have found that sweet spot if it hadn’t been for Sav and Seamus!
Pick another character (or the same character if you only have one) and talk a little about where you WANT them to go. What are your plans for them going into the new year?
Oooh man, this is probably going to sound rude of me, but I want someone to call Launchpad out on his shit.
He is a happy-go-lucky man, he is positive, he does think the best of everyone right from the start, he is honest with that, but there’s also a degree of performativity to the way he interacts with people: he is a people pleaser and he’s also someone who avoids problems/confrotation when possible.
That leads to him having a hard time actually voicing what he thinks when things were serious. Launchpad will default to what he thinks is the most noble/the best option even if he actually hates it. He tries his best to be a reliable dude, but that pushes him to his limits every now and then -and he hates it, but will do it anyways.
I’d love for someone to notice that and point out his marthyr complex to him, or how hypocritical he can actually be when noone is looking.
Jun did an amazing job at that, with the whole Moon Market incident and that is part of why I love his characterization and- I could rant about how Jun and LP are actually similar, yet different, but I won’t.
Someone please bitchslap my idiot son and tell him to be honest with his feelings, maybe get him to confront his feelings of inadequacy, maybe get him to actually face his problems instead of running away from them, kthanxs.
Pick a thread or a plot that you’re proud of and talk about why you loved it.
I have three threads I absolutely love, each for different reasons:
*Cleanliness is next to... with Jun: Jun called my idiot son out on his ‘noble man’ act. Jun was not impressed with his efforts and pushed him to an actual mini-meltdown because Launchpad didn’t know what to do or say to try and make things better: Launchpad is so used to having his way around people that the moment someone was inmune to all his tricks he...lost it. Big time. And I loved it.
*Untitled with Eilonwy: Both of them clicked instantly and- oh, man, I can’t really express what I feel about it, but:
Launchpad feels an actual, honest, connection to Eilonwy in various ways: both of them are a little bit weird, both of them are learning, both of them were kind of kicked out their comfort zones, both of them love adventure, both of them are fearless (in different ways), but there’s also a curious father-daughter dynamic to them. Eilonwy lacked not only a father figure but also a general actual caring adult one and I guess that’s part of what draws her to LP, while LP is a naturally caring man who also, (betweem the two of us), loves feeling like a good-ish role model instead of the dude people tell you to avoid because he’s an idiot, he loves looking out for people, he loves being understood -and Eilonwy, surprisingly, understands him without even trying.
They are so very sweet, they just clicked and both of them learn new things with the other: both about themselves and the world. And I love it.
*Dressed to the nines with Seamus: a.k.a “the one in which Sav let me go absolutely fucking ham”: It began with a chat about the need of gratious fanservice involving Seamus wearing (and getting out of) a suit -but soon became something else thanks to the Halloween task.
We soon got the ball rolling and Black Annis happened in a stupidly organic way (her very modus operandi, I discovered kind of late during the creation, ties way too well with the thread’s title itself and I’ll never get over it), and the mix of terror and action just naturally pushed the rest of the plot into the catharsis Seamus needed after all the stuff he’s been through.
The thread gave us the opportunity to write some mindless comedy, some yearning, some tenderness, plenty of gore, blood, trauma, legit PTSD, then back to tenderness and silliness -while also mentioning and showing a good deal of the things that have made Seamus the man he currently is, with the pretty and the ugly of it.
I just think it was an amazing character exploration for both Seamus and Lachlann, and I enjoyed every bit of it. I love Sav’s writing, I love Seamus’ characterization, I love how naturally it all evolved, I love how Sav can casually bring something up while plotting and the thing just clicks into place, I love how we just kind of understand where things are going or where we want them to go. Sav’s just amazing at brainstorming and general writing and I feel really, really lucky to have the chance to write with her.
I have no choice but to stan, really.
And I could go on and on about how the thread pushed both Seamus and Lachlann towards some big character development, but I really don’t want to rant -so I’ll leave it like this.
In terms of your own writing, identify 1-3 strengths and talk about why you think it’s one of your strengths.
Gee, that’s a difficult one. I guess my strongest suit as of now would be Launchpad’s voice as a character -and I’m not only talking about dialogue.
I think everyone that has read any of my threads has noticed by now that the flow of the narration is an extension of how Launchpad himself feels and thinks: it’s chaotic and emotional, it can get self-conscious and snarky when he, himself, can’t, it brings some exposition while not breaking the simple, chaotic rythm of Launchpad per-se.
In terms of your own writing, identify 1-3 areas of improvement.
This is way easier for me to pinpoint, hah! I definitely need to work on the length of my posts: I know seeing paragraphs upon paragraphs upon paragraphs can make people tired or make them feel intimidated to interact.
I also need to work on organizing Launchpad’s chaotic thoughts. The narration does get long-winded and sometimes the progression from point A to point B is way too chaotic -so much so that actually erasing it all would make no impact on the overall narration.
Pick one of your plots, or even just a character, and come up with a list of 3-5 “mentor texts” where you can look for inspiration or research, then write a short (2-4 sentences) why you picked those texts.
Not texts per-se, but I think a good way to get a feel of Launchpad’s general vibe is to watch “Top Duck” from Ducktales ‘87 and/or “The Duck Knight Returns” and “Double-o-duck in: You only crash twice”; Those episodes do an amazing job in expressing his insecurities and passions.
Now, leaving the source material behind, I think a book he resonates with is “Oh, the Places You'll Go!” by Dr. Seuss -it’s fun, it’s simple and it has an overall heartwarming message: It kind of captures that sense of wonder, discovery and positivity Launchpad both has and wishes to offer other people.
Another inspiration of sorts for Launchpad is Ferry’s “Parties are for losers” series: First of all, I’ll admit I’m a sucker for the Strugatsky brothers and СТАЛКЕР, so it’s no surprise I’m in love with Ferry’s interpretation of the story; I see a little bit of LP in KT’s story, but also in Yura’s and, surprisingly, in Olga’s.
PAFL’s setting is different, yet similar, to the Soviet sci-fi original: it deals with some disenchantment, it’s far from idealistic, it’s rough, but it’s also full of wonder and adventure: there’s big risks, but there’s also a good deal of things that make things, if not better, a little bit less miserable for the characters -and sometimes that something that keeps them going is other’s presence. PAFL is, for me, the inspiration for adventures that aren’t always glamourous, simple, or happy, taken by characters that are far from perfect, that have the odds against them, that carry a whole lot of baggage and, yet, prevail.
And, finally, a last inspiration for Launchpad, my lovable idiot son, comes from probably the place one would expect the least: God of War (2018).
I’m also a sucker for God of War, sue me.
I know it may seem bizare, but the message of the game just clicks with LP -and before you start wondering how in hell Kratos could possibly inspire Launchpad just let me tell you: he doesn’t. Because it’s not about Kratos I’m refering to when I talk about that story! I’m actually thinking of Mimir!
I love him so much.
Mimir’s role on the game is multifacetic: he brings exposition and ocasional comedic relief, sure, but I see him as the heart of the interactions between Kratos and Atreus (Kratos’ son, for those who may not know). Kratos is emotionally repressed and keeps to himself a lot while Atreus is a bundle of joy, energy, curiosity and someone that doesn’t think ‘because I say so’ is a valid answer to things; Kratos and Atreus clash during the first part of the game even when they love one another in their very particular ways.
In comes Mimir.
Mimir(’s head) joins the party and takes upon himself to act as a bridge between emotional distant father and young naive fearless son and...things start working for the three of them! Kratos starts understanding Atreus! Atreus slowly understands his father’s worries and needs! They begin the story as (almost) complete strangers but by the end they have an actual bond thanks to Mimir’s constant pushing and interventions: Mimir is soft with Atreus but bold with Kratos, the man knows when to joke and throw some riské comments for the chaos of it, but he’s also the first to offer words of comfort and understanding.
The man becomes part of the family even when he isn’t related to them by blood, even going so far as to give a ‘no, take me instead!’ when presented with the opportunity by a pair of enemies, even when his whole story tells us that he thinks of the idea of dealing with those people (won’t say who, because spoilers) as worse than death -the man hates the mere idea of going back but doesn’t hesitate a second to offer himself as a sacrifice for his new family.
And, damn, that’s what I base my interpretation of Launchpad on. He’s not a part of the family per-se but he constantly acts as a bridge between the youngest and more idealistic parts of it and the jaded, older, tired one; He’s happy to be comedic relief but will also sit and give anyone a pep talk when absolutely necessary -he knows his limitations but keeps trying and offering his best for those he cares about. He tries to be the heart.
I’m emotional about a disembodied head, don’t touch me. Play God of War (2018), it’s fucking amazing.
And now, a wishlist!:
I’m...actually up for everything and anything, really. I’d love some adventures, but I also love the more mundane interactions, I love the heavier topics but also the silly moments.
I guess, as I said before, the one thing I’d really love is for someone to push Launchpad to be honest about his feelings. Also a plot about him either considering to or actually flying again -those, however, will happen in due time and I have no rush to make ‘em.
Why do you RP?
Short explanation?: I love writing and reading.
Longer explanation?: I love writing and reading, I love complex characterizations, I love exploring new ideas and seeing how little plot bunnies become full fledged plots and/or character explorations or bring some character development, I love how that creates a domino effect with the rest of the cast. I love to see things happen: I love watching from afar as other’s characters learn lessons, create and conect-
-also, I write and read all day, everyday: that’s my job. I do script revisionism and organizational comunication. During work hours I have to check the flow of words, tones, and overall intentions; I have to do my best to make sure someone’s idea fits the box, but RPing gives me the opportunity to take the box and toss it out of the window. RPing gives me the chance to write freely, to write silly, to be imperfect and not worry about going from A to B or dealing with a checklist or tones, intentions or other’s ideas.
It’s just freeing. And that’s why I do (and love) it.

art progression tour
fuck it i think this will be funny
august 17, 2012, age 8 (untitled)
Tumblr media
first digital drawing. ever. holy fuck. the software i used to make this records the time you spend on it. this was a good 7 minutes. it’s my laptop background. i love it and hate it.
sept 30, 2012, age 8 (title: demon dog)
Tumblr media
the first time i tried uploading this picture it crashed my phone. much to think about.
oct 27, 2012, age 9 (title: meh)
Tumblr media
made one day after my 9th birthday. haunting image. the dropping smile makes me think this cat is hiding some inner anguish, perhaps about the fact that his tail is absolutely broken, or the fact that he’s floating in a void the same color as a majority of his fur.
dec 03, 2012, age 9 (title: gimmmeeeee....)
Tumblr media
deeply unsettling portrait of the cheshire cat. this makes me uncomfortable for reasons i dare not name.
dec 19, 2012, age 9 (title: Winnatuck!)
Tumblr media
my first fursona. my grasp on character design and expression was improving. i distinctly remember crying when someone asked me why her wings were floating. she was scene.
jan 02, 2013, age 9 (title: test)
Tumblr media
not sure what i was testing. improvements all around on strange wolf-adjacent creature anatomy.
june 11, 2013, age 9 (title: WIP)
Tumblr media
first documented humanoid drawing. it reminds me of a malnourished bodybuilder, with the bulging stomach but equally thick neck.
june 21, 2013, age 9 (title: school’s out and im lazy!)
Tumblr media
my first venture in drawing animals facing forwards. i do not remember the name of this character, but i know she was a candy princess. also an impressive foray into using color without the paint bucket. handwriting leaves much to be desired. (update: her name is karma.)
july 09, 2013, age 9 (title: im tired. -n-“)
Tumblr media
alexa was, apparently, an old roleplaying character. after doing some digging, i discovered she was, as many of my characters were, a way to groom me. her happy face is tarnished by that.
sept 29, 2013, age 9 (title: internal screaming)
Tumblr media
very abstract. Don’t know what this means. human skills were improving slowly.
(part one due to the fact that there is an image limit)

Getting back together with G dragon after a bad public breakup due to pressure from YG being a whole dick but GD didn't know about that and thought it was all you , but he talks to taeyang and he realises what happened and releases "Untitled 2014", and everyone wants to know who it's about- so at his first performance of the song he just sings it directly to you in front of everyone so YG is exposed and ya just fall into each others arms lmao I'm so soft for romance 😭😭😭😭 scen or hcs
“What are you - What are you even talking about?”
He was lying. He had to be lying. What he was saying didn’t make any sense - not after all this time. Not whenever Jiyong was only just now starting to get over you.
It had taken him months to get to this point. Months of writing songs that were so far out of his depth that it confused even the fans who had praised him before. It had been months of struggling to leave his home in fear of coming across people who had read the news recently, had seen the break up you and him had went through only a few months prior.
It had taken him ages to be able to finally sit in front of his band mates, talk to them like a normal man again, even if the image of you was still playing in his mind.
Taeyang pursed his lips. “I’m sorry, dude. I thought you knew. I thought it was obvious!”
“Obvious?” Jiyong trailed his hands through his hair, hollowing out his cheeks in any attempt to calm himself down. “So it was him, then. He was the reason we broke up?”
“You saw the way he treated them,” said Taeyang. “He didn’t want them around from the beginning. I guess the pressure just got too much…”
Jiyong zoned out, thinking back on the relationship that he had blocked from his mind so long ago - at least, it felt so long ago. He remembered the way YG would always tell you to leave early, the way he would stop Jiyong from going over to your house after practice, the way he scowled whenever you so much as pecked Jiyong on the cheek; back then, Jiyong had been so set on the idea of a successful tour and a successful album that he had barely even spared a second glance at the odd behaviour.
He could have kicked himself. How had he not seen it? The day you broke up with him, you had been crying more than Jiyong had ever seen. He had been so mad and heartbroken that he hadn’t stopped to think about what that could mean - if you truly wanted out of this relationship, surely you wouldn’t have been crying at finally being given the chance to escape?
Jiyong’s chest constricted. He looked up at Taeyang and shook his head, because that was all he could do. He felt stupid, foolish, and the one thing he knew he needed to do now was talk to you.
   +++
Jiyong didn’t think he was very good at words. Trying to get his feelings across in a normal conversation was something he was unable to do; he stuttered, grew bright red, stopped and started over and over again until the person listening just grew tired of him.
He couldn’t do that with you. He couldn’t allow himself to get worked up and back out before he could get his point across, and that was why he found himself huddled over his desk in the middle of the night, a lamp being the only thing illuminating the sheet of paper in front of him. Already the page was full of lyrics, words that had come from his heart and words that he meant more deeply than anything else; he read over them repeatedly, making sure each and every line was absolutely perfect, because that’s what he needed right now.
He was a strong believer in no song being completely perfect, that every song he wrote could be improved in some way, shape or form, but this was the exception. He needed this song to be perfect.
Because this may very well be the song that changed his life.
   +++
Taeyang dragged you through the crowd, a vice-like grip on your upper arm making sure you did not go missing amongst the sea of screaming fans, all here to see the infamous G-Dragon.
You would, quite honestly, rather be anywhere else. The idea of seeing Jiyong again after so many months had you feeling elated, but the anxiety that came with it was paralysing, almost.
You had put up quite an argument with Taeyang over the phone, telling him over and over again that you did not want to go, that it was just going to be awkward and nobody was going to have a good time. You didn’t want Jiyong seeing you in the crowd and freezing up, letting down the fans who had paid good money to be here tonight.
Taeyang had promised you that Jiyong would not see you - which was funny now, considering he was currently pulling you to the very front of the venue, right in front of the stage.
“Taeyang, can you slow down?” you hissed, tugging your hood a little tighter over your head in any attempt to stop the fans from noticing you. After the break up you and Jiyong had went through, the last thing you wanted was to be seen at his concert. That would be most dangerous indeed.
“Can you speed up?” Taeyang shot back. “Look, our spots have been saved for us!”
“You said we wouldn’t be at the front!”
“That was before our spots were saved - we’d just look ungrateful if we didn’t take them.”
You groaned but put up no further argument. Perhaps it was easier this way - with your back facing the rest of the crowd, none of the fans would be able to see your face. You’d be perfectly safe, able to sway along to the sound of Jiyong’s voice in perfect peace and-
    The lights dimmed.
Taeyang grabbed your arm, almost as if he was ensuring you didn’t turn and flee at the first sign of Jiyong’s presence, but you did the opposite. You froze in place, lip tucked neatly between your teeth as you nibbled on the skin, waiting patiently for the man himself to arrive.
Your heart lurched when you saw him, and it was the most painful yet most relieving sight you had ever seen in your life. He was there, standing in front of you with mist swirling around his lower half. He wore a loose fitting black shirt with tiny little chains interweaving through the fabric that glistened against the soft stage lights shining down on him.
There was no way he would be able to see you. He had his eyes closed for one, and you were surely much too far in the shadows for him to be able to-
His eyes opened, immediately clicking with your own.
Oh god. Oh sweet heavens above, give me mercy.
Being in front of him was hard enough, but he noticed you. He knew you were here, as if this entire thing had been planned from the very beginning.
And you knew you should have ducked away and fled from the venue then and there, spare yourself the inevitable heartbreak, but your feet were glued to the floor and Jiyong was staring at you and the world was closing around you, not allowing you to move.
The music started, soft and peaceful but heavy at the same time. Jiyong started singing, his eyes not once leaving your own; the crowd didn’t exist any more. Taeyang at your side didn’t exist. The anxiety that had once flooded your system had disappeared entirely, leaving just you and Jiyong and the feelings you had tried to squish so many times in the past few months, but with little success.
“Please just once    If I can just see you   I’m ok with losing everything I have  I’ll meet you, even if it’s in a dream And we can love againJust as we are.”
Taeyang leaned in and flicked your cheek. “You’re crying and it’s only the first chorus.”
You slapped a hand over your mouth, unable to stop the sob of shock that erupted from your throat. Jiyong continued singing, but with each verse and each word and each expression, his voice wavered that little bit more until you were positive he was going to break down into tears at any given moment.
You needed to get to him before that happened. You needed to have your arms around him before he so much as shed a single tear.
Taeyang yelped in shock when you ripped your arm from his grip and stumbled to the front of the stage. The security guards dove for you, but your hood fell back and they drew away in shock at the sight of you - Jiyong’s infamous ex, the person who had all but broken his heart for a reason nobody knew.
You paid them little attention, instead tossing yourself forward. Jiyong was in front of you in seconds, the microphone going ignored as he kneeled down and met you half-way, wrapping his arms around your waist and tugging you into his chest.
The crowd screamed, but you could barely hear them. Jiyong’s breath was warm against the side of your face, his hands tight around your waist as if he were afraid that letting go would lead to you leaving again.
But right now, with his body pressed against your own, you were certain that there was nothing more unlikely to happen. You couldn’t leave him again, not after the pain and the heartbreak you had suffered the first time. And clearly, judging by the lyrics he had just sung to you, he had been suffering the same.
He pressed a small kiss to the side of your head, all he could do whilst standing in front of the crowd. “He convinced you to come.”
You laughed breathily, snuggling your head in his chest. “It didn’t take much convincing. I missed you.”
“I missed you, too. I’m sorry I didn’t get in contact sooner. I thought - I didn’t know that YG-”
“Sh.” You shook your head, reaching up and gently cupping his face; his cheeks were damp with uncharacteristic tears, and your heart shuddered at the feel of them beneath your palm. “He’s not important right now, alright? I’m here, you’re here, and he isn’t. That’s all that matters.”
Jiyong pursed his lips and nodded, clinking his forehead against your own. “I love you so much.”
You grinned. “I love you too.”

Nintendo Switch OLED review: Beautiful, but not a must-have
youtube
Though they don’t come out with the annual frequency of an iPhone, video game consoles can always be counted on to have a few mid-cycle refreshes (think: the PlayStation 4 Pro or Xbox One X). This week it’s Nintendo giving the OG Switch a makeover, adding an OLED screen and a few other exterior tweaks. But it’s basically the same system on the inside, so don’t call it the Switch Pro. It’s officially dubbed the Nintendo Switch OLED, because calling it the “slightly nicer Switch” doesn’t really move units from the shelves. If you’ve already invested in a Switch or Switch Lite you won’t need the upgrade, but if you’re still Switch-less this is the model to buy.
It’s $50 more than the original, which is not being pulled from shelves just yet. For $350, the new Switch has a full 7-inch OLED screen, a step up from the older model’s 6.2-inch display. The larger screen size is appreciated, though after six hours of playing it in handheld mode I didn’t notice the difference as much.
Kris Naudus / Engadget
What did catch my attention when I switched back to the original were the chunky bezels around the 6.2-inch display. I’ve never liked them and found them to be one of the least attractive things about the system. Now they make me recoil in disgust when I compare them to the OLED model’s slim lines, which have been whittled to a third of the size. The matte plastic frame around the screen has also shrunk and changed to a glossy plastic, making it even less obtrusive.
As for the display itself: yes, it is noticeably brighter. There’s enough of a difference that in my initial hands-on I was dismayed when I returned to my personal Switch at home hours later. When placed side by side, the difference is undeniable. The colors pop just a bit more, the blacks are deeper and the whites are… more white, with the original having a slight lavender tint in contrast to the purer white of the OLED screen.
Kris Naudus / Engadget
While not every game will benefit from better colors, Nintendo is also releasing Metroid Dread the same day. Like all titles in the series, the game traffics in a lot of dark spaces, with the bright pop of Samus’ red and yellow (or blue) armor contrasting nicely alongside backgrounds of brown and gray. It’s a good showcase for the OLED’s improved color fidelity and just a nice-looking game in general, which distracts from the fact that the new Switch doesn’t bring any actual improvements under the hood.
The CPU and GPU go unaltered, which ensures that all future Switch titles remain compatible with existing Switch and Switch Lite systems. This is pretty much in keeping with the Game Boy Advance and 3DS lines of products, which saw some radical redesigns like the Game Boy micro and 2DS over their lifespans. Sure, there were handhelds like the DSi and New 3DS that came with improved internal specs, but those never saw widespread adoption. The Switch OLED is a lot more like the Game Boy Advance SP: significant improvements to the display and form factor, but the same old library of games.
Alongside that new display are a bunch of minor tweaks that don’t seem like much when considered individually, but as a whole really improve the experience. The most notable is the new stand on the back. The one on the original Switch is small and roughly a finger’s width, with only two positions: open and closed. The one on my original launch unit no longer locks in the “closed” position and has a tendency to flop out when I’m playing in handheld mode. It also detaches completely if you look at it funny.
The Switch OLED’s stand is an entirely different beast. Instead of a skinny little strip, it’s now a Microsoft Surface-style panel that stretches across the back of the entire unit, with real hinges that can be left in a number of positions so you can now put your unit at whatever angle you prefer. I wouldn’t try to pull this thing off; the hinges are actually molded into the plastic, so if you do break it, it’ll have to go off to the Nintendo repair shop to get fixed up.
Kris Naudus / Engadget
To accommodate the new stand a bunch of stuff has been moved around on the back of the Switch unit. The logo is now printed on the stand itself, so it’s been moved to the lower half of the rear. The manufacturing info, like the parts number and voltage, is now printed in black on the black plastic, underneath the stand. So it’s doubly hidden — a subtle but welcome improvement. The rear speakers have been moved to the bottom edge of the unit, where they also serve as a way to pull the stand out. It’s actually very thoughtful, while providing clear game audio and minimizing system noise. And, while the microSD hasn’t been completely relocated, it’s now placed parallel to the bottom edge. I assume this small change is to keep users from accidentally pulling out the card when they’re trying to adjust the stand. The one thing that hasn’t been relocated is the USB-C port on the bottom, so you still can’t recharge it in tabletop mode.
Kris Naudus / Engadget
There are fewer changes to the device’s top edge, with the most notable being a button redesign resulting in longer, thinner power and volume switches. The new buttons aren’t easier to hit, but they do look sleeker and feel better under my fingers thanks to the textured plastic of the Switch OLED. The system is actually just nicer to hold now, like when it kept the sweat from pooling under my clammy hands during a particularly stressful boss fight in Metroid Dread.
Kris Naudus / Engadget
Because the Switch OLED has to be compatible with all existing accessories, that means the unit is the same height and width as the original model. The Joy-Cons haven’t gotten a redesign, but hopefully the infamous “Joy-Con drift” has been eradicated by now. The new black and white color scheme is very nice, a step up from my all-gray launch unit in terms of style. If you like a more playful color palette, the Switch OLED can also be bought with red and blue Joy-Cons, or you can swap any other Joy-Cons you want. But the white ones don’t show scratches as easily as the other shades, so they’ll look spiffy for longer.
The one change in the system’s dimensions is the weight, thanks to the OLED screen. When handling the original and new Switch side by side, the difference is undeniable. But it’s not a big enough divide to make the Switch OLED less portable in any way. Subjectively, it might actually seem a bit lighter, possibly because the weight is well-distributed. The one thing about the build that feels like a step down is that the OLED model has a tiny bit of flex in the middle of the rear panel that’s not present in the original. However, it doesn’t make much of a difference to the build quality unless you’re planning to take a hammer to the back of the unit.
Kris Naudus / Engadget
Because the system keeps the same internals, that means the battery has gone unchanged as well. It’s the same as the refreshed 2019 battery, which offers between four and nine hours of battery life compared to the launch unit’s cap of six hours. However, the new OLED should be more power-efficient than the LCD, and in use it appears to be. I got almost seven hours of Metroid Dread before I got the “low battery” warning at 15 percent, and that’s a game that makes frequent use of vibration. Compare that to the four or five hours I tend to get out of my OG Switch, even when playing something fairly tame like Animal Crossing or Untitled Goose Game.
If you already have an existing Switch, you can drop the OLED model into your current dock and it will work just fine. But the system does come with its own, redesigned dock that you might want to set up. It looks a lot nicer thanks to its rounded corners and glossy black plastic on the inside (which admittedly will probably scratch up over time). The back panel isn’t great, as it feels flimsy and can come off completely (so you may lose it). But all of these are outweighed by the important addition of an ethernet port.
Prior to this, the Switch has always been intended as a wireless system, and it hasn’t been stellar. Early models had a tendency to “forget” how to connect to your WiFi, forcing you to restart the system. And even now, downloading from the Nintendo eShop can be pokey; even with the OLED model I had to leave my system sitting for an hour or two while it downloaded games wirelessly. But now you can just plug in a cable for a faster, more reliable connection. If you have one in your living room, that is. Many people don’t, which makes this a feature for the more technical-minded fans. It’s the one new feature of the Switch OLED that I would consider “pro” level, and if you have a place to plug in it’s certainly worth the $50 premium.
Kris Naudus / Engadget
Overall, the Switch OLED is a nice system coming out at an odd time, as it’s been over four years since the release of the original Switch. Based on Nintendo’s past release history, that would indicate a new console some time around 2023. So it’s a big ask of people to buy a $350 system if something better is just around the corner. (Nintendo has categorically denied that it has plans for a new Switch as recently as last week, but that doesn’t preclude that one will come out eventually.)
There’s also the specter of the Steam Deck in December, just two short months from now (assuming no delays). It's far more powerful than the Switch, and is also much larger, but promises access to almost the entire Steam library, which happens to overlap with the current Nintendo eShop quite a bit. The biggest selling point for the Switch OLED is access to storied franchises like Mario and Zelda, as well as the incredible bargain that is Switch Online. But you don’t need an OLED screen or wired ethernet to enjoy old NES, SNES, N64 and Genesis titles.
Kris Naudus / Engadget
If you’re not going to be able to plug it into ethernet, or don’t need better speeds because you play offline all the time, the choice to upgrade to a Switch OLED is tricky. If you always play on the TV, there’s absolutely no point in buying this one, as there’s no difference in the dock’s output quality. It’s going to look the same as it always has, as this is most definitely not the rumored upgrade to 4K. But even if you’re a handheld player it’s not a must-have, unless you’ve given up on your original Switch because you just really, really hate LCD displays, or absolutely need more than five hours of battery life.

March Fic Recs
I’ve been waiting for this day all week because I read so many good fics this month and I just wanted to share them already. So let’s get this show on the road!
[2 Borderlands, 8 Brooklyn Nine-Nine, 3 The Adventure Zone]
Borderlands
The Crimson Raider Reporting by ccaaii, SimulatedStars, snufflyphoenix (gen, 2k WIP): New York City; 1923.There's a crackdown on vice and Roland and Mordecai, two reporters for The Crimson Raider, are convinced the Deputy Chief of Police behind it is in fact Handsome Jack, notorious gang leader of Hyperion. Across town Maya, a policewoman working under Deputy Chief Johnson, has the same theory. Gaige is a young anarchist who is friends with the Deputy Chief's daughter who ends up in way over her head. They end up allying with The Firehawk and The Slab King to take down Handsome Jack, hoping to expose Johnson in the process. [I normally don’t rec WIPs but this fic deserves way more love so here we go! The Borderlands characters and themes translate beautifully into 1920s Prohibition Era New York. The premise they’ve set up is so intriguing and so good and honestly you should all go read it and leave comments.]
The Five Times Mordecai Asked Moxxi to Run Away with Him by snufflyphoenix (Mordecai/Moxxi, 1k):  And the one time she ran away without him. [Would you like a dash of sweetness with your pain? Then read this fic. It captures the progression of their relationship beautifully.]
Brooklyn Nine-Nine
all that laughter crumbling in your chest by philthestone (Rosa, Amy/Jake, 8k): Amy kind-of sort-of dies, and everything falls apart. Rosa observes. [Amy fakes her death for a case and most of the squad doesn’t know and it hurts. Really great job at capturing the hole Amy’s absence leaves and I love me some Jake angst.]
Beach House Revelations by EveningRose (Jake/Amy, 7k): The first time the whole squad went to the Beach House, they discovered a new side to Holt. This time, Jake discovers a whole new side to Amy. Specifically, Four-drink Amy comes out to play and Jake isn't sure he's going to survive this night because it might just be the death of him. [This fic is a pure delight - lots of cute and funny moments both between Jake and Amy as well as with the rest of the squad. Honestly I was smiling and laughing the entire time. It’s really good.]
don’t be fools, thinking this is the last you’ll find by elsaclack (Jake/Amy): Jake and Amy on their first official date, after the restaurant. [This is so cute and good!!! Like I 100% accept that this is what happened in canon. Also the writing is really good and honestly I love every line but there’s this specific nugget that made me melt:  If his dad was made for flying planes and his mom was made to be a living sant, Jake Peralta was made to kiss Amy Santiago. Like how good is that amirite? Also the ending but I won’t quote and spoil that. Please read the rest now.]
i could listen to you all day by startofamoment (Jake/Amy, 3k): “You should arrange your shirts by color and pattern.” “Uh, hello? Earth to conscience, these are all blue plaid shirts.” “Wrong. That one over there is a navy tartan, and that other one is a periwinkle gingham.” “So like... blue plaid.”  B99 + Conscience/Soulmate AU: in which your conscience has the voice, thought process, and moral compass of your soulmate. [Really cute, honestly I was smiling the entire time with my hands clasped against my chest, it was such a delight.]
just let the pain remind you hearts can heal by elsaclack (Jake/Amy): Missing moment from the sleepwalking verse between eating Chinese and Charles visiting where Amy tries to organize her dishes and Jake worries about her. [My heart is melting. I love this - just all the touching, the bits of angst, the concern from Jake and the stubbornness in Amy, the sheer love on display, everything here is lovely. If you enjoyed sleepwalking, you need to read this. If you haven’t read sleepwalking, then WHAT ARE YOU DOING WITH YOUR LIFE GO READ IT NOW!!! and then come back for this + the other fics on this list.]
she shoots, she scores (like, every time) by peraltiagoisland (Gina, Jake, with sprinklings of Gina/Rosa and Jake/Amy), 6k): AU where everything is pretty much the same except- Gina Linetti is amazing at basketball. And by amazing, I mean there's a high possibility a witch cast a spell on her such that she never misses a shot. This skill of Gina's comes in handy during Jake and Gina's childhood- as well as when Boone challenges the Nine-Nine to a basketball match. [This is just a really fun, cute fic with on-point character interactions! Read if you want to smile and laugh. Also the fact that it’s basketball just makes it even more amazing, but then I’m biased, I used to play.]
Untitled by littlegreenwomen (Rosa gen, 2k): Jake and Amy have a housewarming party, Rosa is stressed, and Ben Wyatt is quoted. [Basically Rosa runs damage control at their housewarming party. I love these disaster children and this fic - it's very fun and cute and true to their characters.]
we want to live by each other’s happiness by philthestone (Jake gen with Jake/Amy and Jake&Rosa, 19k): Erskine tilts his head. “Why do you want to fight?” Jake could say a million things. “I’m Jewish.” [Jewish Captain America AU starring Jake Peralta. Sometimes you read a fic that is so good and so important that you wish everyone would read it because it’s that GOOD and HUMAN. Beautiful characterization and writing with an important message at the very core of it. Honestly I could go on and on about how much I loved it, but I’ll let you read it for yourselves. I will say this: if I could, I would put this on required reading lists everywhere because I think everyone’s lives could be improved by reading this fic, regardless of whether or not they watch B99. One of my top 3 B99 fics for sure!]
The Adventure Zone
Morning by stargayzing (Carey/Killian, 1k):  TAZ Lady Week Day 6: Fluff, Warmth, Beginnings. [Pre-relationship fluff where Carey and Killian take care of a duckling. It’s really cute and it made me laugh. These two dorks <3]
We End by Coming Home by patster223 (Sloane/Hurley, 900): It begins with Sloane’s cheek pressed against the cold metal of their battlewagon, as she stares at the bright halo of sunlight bouncing off of Hurley’s curls. (That’s not truly where they begin, but the tight cinch of the sash around Sloane’s waist makes it hard for her to remember many beginnings. She has to make due with this one.) [aka how to break my heart in less than 1000 words. Gorgeous and sad.]
When All This is Over by droosy (Gen of THB, 700):  Our boys think about the future. [Character studies of the three boys and what they want when this is over. It’s beautiful and poignant, and left me with such a bone-deep contentment. My heart is so full of feelings about this found family.]

Gift #35, @drvcopotter
Mr. Draco Potter himself approves of this gift... @drvcopotter
Our gifter says:
"Happy Dralentine's Day!! Hope you enjoy it <3″
Untitled - 'Enough, that's- that's enough... Draco!'
'I'm sober!' Draco lauched himself forward, blindly trying to snatch the Firewhiskey bottle from Harry's hands. 1k.
Tags: It's sfw, with kissing and fluff, drunk drarry, auror drarry partners, mentions of domestic drarry (they share a flat). Ron makes a quick appearance at the beginning.
Tumblr media
'Enough, that's- that's enough... Draco!'
'I'm sober!' Draco lauched himself forward, blindly trying to snatch the Firewhiskey bottle from Harry's hands.
The crowded pub made it easier for Harry to just get up from their table and pull Draco with him without getting much attention from their coworkers, most of them already as drunk as Malfoy. The blond fidgeted in his arms, mumbling something Harry couldn't understand or barely hear.
'We're going home' the unintelligible words shushing Draco immediately. He'd learnt parseltongue was useful for those times Draco wouldn't listen to him. Harry hooked one of Malfoy's arms around his shoulder, doing his best not to bump into too many people on his way to the door.
'Harry!'
Fuck. He turned around with some difficulty, Malfoy breathing on his neck while trying to balance his weigh on his legs without bringing both of them down.
Ron walked towards him, his expression quickly changing into one of concern as soon as he recognized the blond head.
'Where are you going?' Ron squinted  his eyes suspiciously, darting them from Harry to Malfoy, who hiccuped and giggled, the sound muffled by Harry's hair where his face was now buried. Ron didn't even bother to hide his disconfort, his cheeks a dark shade of red Harry knew couldn't be blamed only on Firewhiskey.
'Home' Harry rolled his eyes, giving Ron a small smile to try and ease the tension a bit.
'Why? You're not his mother! Just leave him here, I'm sure he can-' Ron gesticulated towards an almost unconscious Draco like he was trash Harry was taking outside.
'And then what? I'll have to open the door for him later anyway.'
Ron sighed, searching for help and noticing no one cared if they were leaving or not.
'It's friday and you've just finished a fucked up case. You don't deserve this, Harry'
It's not that bad, Harry thought, the words now common in his vocabulary when talking to Ron, Hermione, or any of his friends. Being paired with Malfoy after their Auror training two years ago may have angered him a bit - quite a lot, actually - and finding out they'd have to share a flat, which was protocol for new partners in order to 'strengthen the bond' didn't sound like the best of options, but after all, it really wasn't that bad. Malfoy was organized and surprisingly quiet. He could be nosy, childish and bossy but most of the time, it was manageable.
A drunk Malfoy, however was another story. Needy, cuddly, demanding. It shocked Harry the first time the blond got himself pissed on a Friday night and let his head fall on Harry's shoulder in the middle of the bar.
'Let's go home, Harry' he giggled in his ear, Harry's own name resonating in his head.
After that he'd tried his best not to let Malfoy drink too much.
Malfoy hiccuped again and Ron let out an exasperated sigh.
'It's fine. See you Monday, yeah?' Harry turned around before Ron could say anything, his own mind a bit dizzy from the alcohol and the noise.
***
'Harry'
The cold breeze hit them square in the face the moment Harry opened the door. He let it close behind him, the noise gone the second it clicked shut. Malfoy shivered against him, curling himself on Harry’s side. The sooner they reached their flat the better. The safer, Harry thought.
'Harry' Draco breathed in his ear. Fuck, Harry hated how Malfoy always said his name, how could Harry mean something completely different than Potter coming from the same person?
'Yeah?' Harry stopped, his mind still too slow for him to remember where was the nearest apparition point.
'I'm hungry' Draco nuzzled his nose against Harry's dark locks, inhaling like that was the most natural thing to do.
'What? No, we're going home, Draco' He said firmly, deciding for a random direction.
'Please, I'm really hungry...' Harry let out an exasperated groan, the weigh and the cold doing nothing to improve his mood. He took a look around, spotting a small convenience store not far from them on the other side of the street. They had no food at home, he was tired and, if Draco was indeed that hungry, he woudn't be too picky about it.
They crossed the street, Harry sitting Draco on the closest bench outside the store as soon as they reached it.
'Stay here. I mean it, Draco, stay'
''m not a dog, Potter'
Potter. Good, he was not that drunk.
Harry turned around, rolling his eyes, and opened the glass door.
Water, some noodles. An aspirin since Draco forgot to brew hangover potion. Hmm, chocolate, since Draco would be in an awful mood tomorrow-
Harry stopped shortly. Merlin, they sounded so... domestic. Harry shivered, avoiding the cashier's eyes since he knew his cheeks were probably bright pink.
He headed for the door noticing through the glass that Draco wasn't where he'd left him.
'Fuck' He stormed out of the store, his wand already firmly secured in his hand.
'Draco?'
'Hmm?' Harry jumped, letting out a breath he didn't know he was holding. Malfoy was stading not far from him, his hand placed on a huge cabin right by the door.
'A photobooth cabin?’ Harry's voice startled the blond, who darted his eyes towards him.
'Photo what?'
Harry remebered the first time Dudley got home with one of those stripes, his ugly face splashed in tiny squares all over it. When he'd asked aunt Petunia if he could take one too the woman told him those things were for people with friends. And Harry had none.
'You take photos in these' He stared at the ground, the grip on the plastic bags tighter than necessary.
'Let's go'
'I wanna try it'
'What?' Harry stopped, not believing what his ears were telling him.
'Come on, Potter, it can't be that bad' Draco took a step forward, lifting the black curtains and peering inside, curiously.
'You're aware this is a muggle thing, right?' Harry said, taking a step forward. He had no idea why a muggle photobooth cabin was standing outside of a convenience store on a wizard neighborhood. He checked the money entry, noticing it was modified to accept wizard money. An image of Mr. Weasley appeared in his mind instantly. Right, there were wizards who collected stuff like that.
Harry dropped two knuts inside the machine, Draco already getting inside.
It was small, smaller than he'd expected, with only one old black stool. Harry sat awkwardly at the edge, almost falling while doing his best to avoid touching Draco more than needed. The blond seemed too distracted with a big black screen in front of him to notice or even worry himself about it, letting his knee touch Harry's carelessly.  Harry pressed the only button under the screen, the countdown starting in front of them.
'What's happening?' Draco reached for his wand but Harry stopped him before he could take it out of his pocket.
'Look there, and...'
The first picture was taken, Harry only having a few seconds to pull a funny face. He couldn't help laughing when he realized Draco was just frowning at the camera.
'Are you stupid, Potter?' He turned to stare at Harry, reminding him of how close they were.
'Why?' Harry gulped, looking everywhere but at him.
'That's your idea of a funny face?' A crooked smile formed in Draco's lips, paired with something wicked in his eyes. Before Harry could stop him, Malfoy reached out and grabbed his glasses, putting them on his own face.
Another picture was taken while Draco tried to impersonate him. Harry couldn't help bursting out laughing, Malfoy so unrecognizable wearing his glasses the whole thing seemed too absurd to be taken seriously.
Tears still streaming down his face, Harry opened his eyes to find a small smile on Draco’s lips. The black old frames constrasting with his bright grey eyes and blond hair looked almost... innocent. Harry shouldn’t be thinking that, he shouln’t even be there in that small cabin with him, but the second the blond burst out laughing too, the sound covering Harry’s loud heartbeat, he forgot why Draco Malfoy couldn’t be something else for him.
Another picture was taken before Harry pulled the man towards him and kissed him on the lips.
It took Draco a few seconds to kiss back, his eyes falling shut and lips opening to allow Harry to deepen it. It was, in some way, like a first kiss, the wamth radiating from Draco’s mouth reaching the bottom of Harry’s belly, warming every inch of his body.
They parted, eyes still closed.
‘Harry’ Draco whispered, his tone low and needy.
Harry gulped again, licking his lips which were still millimiters from the other’s. ‘Let’s go back to mine’
‘Did you forget we live together?’
‘I’m trying to flirt here, you git’
Harry chuckled, holding Draco’s face between his hands and kissing him again, softer this time.
‘Let’s go home, Draco’

WILL SMITH AND MARGOT ROBBIE TALK FOCUS: “IT’S SO MANY DIFFERENT KINDS OF MOVIE”, 2015
On the impetus behind making Focus:
Will Smith: I love the work of the directors John [Requa] and Glen [Ficarra]. They did Crazy Stupid Love and I love that film. When I read Focus it was so interesting because it’s so many different kinds of movie. They completely ignore genre. So it’s a heist film but then it will be a bizarre comedy for a while and then it’s really serious and there is great action. And then there’s a wonderful love story in the centre of the film, so I just love how many different styles and flavours they would demand of the actors. We would be in scenes sometimes and we would be like: “This is serious right?” and they’d be like: “Yeah, but have fun with it”, and we would just get to go through so many ranges of the spectrum.
Margot Robbie: They [write great female characters], and like Will said at the heart of it was a love story, so there was lot to do for Jess in that sense because halfway through she’s a woman scorned and then she transforms after that, so they develop it really well. It’s really nice to have a character that has one starting point and is a totally different person by the end of the film. It’s kind of nice to play with that, so I was lucky.
On the atmosphere on set:
Smith: The thing about Margot is that she is absolutely certain of who she wants to be and what she wants to do – but she’s absolutely certain of who she wants you to be and what she wants you to do too! So that was fun in a scene where she’d say: “No, do it like this” and I’d be like: “I’ve done a couple of movies Margot! I have some ideas too!” [Laughs]
What’s great is that she is right most of the time which is fantastic. 90% of the time if something doesn’t feel right to her in a scene it’s correct. But I’m a man I got to go against it anyway [laughs]. But her instincts are really brilliant. She can’t always say why it doesn’t feel right, and she’ll say: “Oh just do it the way I said” so I learnt to do that. But it was really fun to work with someone with that level of instincts are so different to my own.
On the improvisation in the film:
Robbie: We improvised quite a bit, which is surprising as there are so many plot points we had to hit in each scene, or hit to a certain degree or hide to a certain degree. It shouldn’t have left much room for improv but the guys really encouraged it. The end scene, for example, was quite dramatic but there were takes where we were in hysterics.
Smith: What they [the directors] do that’s fantastic is they create a set where everyone is involved. So they get what they want and you’re rolling. They’ll let anyone yell out a line and if it’s funny they’ll be like: “Margot, say that!” or “Will that’s funny, say that!” It was a little awkward for me in the love scenes like: “Will put your leg up, put your leg up!” [Laughs]
On learning the tricks used in the film:
Robbie: It’s a lot harder than it looks. The more you understand about it the easier it gets. The more you look into the psychological side of it the more the physical side makes sense. To begin with you can’t believe that you could steal something in plain sight because you’re like: “They will catch me, there’s no way I’m gonna try that”. When Apollo Robins (an advisor on the film) explains distractions and things like that it makes the physical side of things a lot easier.
Smith: The psychological side for me, the human side, you just can’t imagine that the human brain is that feeble. We think that we’re aware and we’re paying attention and we think that we’re on top of things but we have such huge blind spots.
Smith and Robbie on their chemistry:
Robbie: We’ve said it a couple of times, it was something neither of us were really expecting but for some reason when we walked into the room we just really got along and that continued through the shoot, and it made every scene exciting and fun. It’s not something you can manufacture, so it wasn’t forced or planned. It just existed already which was handy.
Smith: When Margot came to read for the role she didn’t think that there was any chance she was gonna get it because of how different we are.
Robbie: And the long list of actresses I was up against. It was a little bit intimidating.
Smith: “I’m 46 and Margot was 23 when we were filming, I’m from Philly and she’s from Australia, and then there’s obvious genetic differences [laughs]. But for some reason it just worked perfectly. We see it on screen, none of those questions come up. It’s like a wonderful puzzle and it works very well.
Robbie on her gamble of leaving Australia to go to Hollywood, and her upcoming Tina Fey movie:
Robbie: It didn’t feel like a gamble at the time, it felt like the only way to keep moving forward so it just felt like the next logical step. A big one for sure, and definitely terrifying, but I did a lot of pre-planning and saved all my money preparing for up to three years of unemployment which it didn’t turn out to be.
We’re currently filming the untitled Tina Fey film with the writer-directors of Focus, so it’s really nice to be working with them again and the same crew members.
Robbie on Smith or DiCaprio:
Smith: That’s a good question. Your honour, will you please make the witness answer the question? [laughs]
Robbie: Either way I will get in trouble!
They both have extremely huge profiles [laughs], but despite that, when they both walk on to set they’re extremely professional they’re so courteous to everyone on set and it just goes to show that if someone in their position can behave that way and be so decent, then no-one can be a dick on set.
On re-teaming for Suicide Squad:
Robbie: We’re really looking forward to it. We don’t know what the relationship is going to be yet. [The script] is ever-changing.
Smith: The way [director] David Ayer works is all images, all ideas, and he holds the screenplay, and he keeps sending you things about your character, he just wants you to be prepared for anything.
Robbie: I think we’re going to be allies for sure.
Smith: We’re definitely allies.
Robbie: We’re not being secretive, we just actually don’t know.
Smith: He only sends you your character stuff so you don’t know what’s going on with the other characters. I think he wants it to come alive on set.
On why con men have the audience’s sympathies in films:
Robbie: It’s kind of easy to find empathy with the protagonists of the story because you’re hearing and seeing everything from their perspective. I think people have a particular fascination with con and heist films because there is something a little dangerous about it, and perhaps it’s our way of living vicariously through someone else.
Smith: I think it’s also the idea, in these films, if you’re going to steal something, you’re stealing something from someone who has a lot, and most times it’s someone who would be unwilling to share, so I think deep inside of all of us everyone kinda feels the Robin Hood feeling and you love it when someone gets their comeuppance.
