“it’s either come into the graveyard with us, or stay out here, in front of the graveyard, by yourself and wait.  those are your options.”   not that he’d ever admit it, but privately, lucas agrees with his sister  ---  dustin’s lucky that begging for his participation in this little short film had been enough to make him ignore every deeply-rooted self-preservation instinct he has to follow the curly-haired menace into a graveyard in the middle of the night.  why they couldn’t have done this during the day, he’ll never know.

as though answering the unasked question, dustin’s voice floats over to them from where he’s already ventured out amongst the graves.  c’mon, it’s for the atmosphere!  lucas gestures over his shoulder in a kind of there ya go motion, eyebrows jumping up his forehead.  “i mean, if you’re too scared... you can just go home.  bet mom and dad are wondering where you are anyway.”
