I play a retro neopets fansite and this is one of the pet replies when you read them a book

if anyone is actually nostalgic for neopets and wants to give it a go again, there are several 3rd party sites that are run by small communities! moderneopets.com is the one i use, they open registration about 4 times a year and they have colors and species neopets doesn't offer, have really made an effort to remove the out dated and insensitive material and have a handful of the old games to play. it's very easy to earn neopoints but the market is still competitive and fun. please play pixel dolls with me.

Apparently neopets not only managed to ditch the NFT bros, but with the closure of the Jumpstart brand weeks ago, neopets is now completely independent for the first time since the early 2000′s, got millions in a new investment deal and are currently installing a flash simulator so that all their games and animations work again.

doing all those neopet paint brush arts of cuddle and grubrey reminded me that i’d joined that leopets fansite a while back. it is. SO much easier to get points to buy stuff on here than on the actual neopets XD;

I haven’t!! I’ll definitely be checking it out now!! ^^ I love neopets though~ Its where my memories are. And despite everything I really never want the website to die :( its my happy place in this world. I just applied to grundo-cafe recently too!! Im sad leopets died shhshdjjd i had some cute pets there xD~

As of now, Leopets.net is no longer functional, but it is showing the domain offer of namecheap instead of what it used to be.

The same can be said for Leopets.org

Jumpstart clearly doesn’t care about Neopets nor its userbase and is basically leaving the site to die as they desperately try to make bank on nostalgia value Leopets seems promising but its easy to forget they only allow registration submissions once a month, and even then if you do remember there’s no guarantee you’ll be accepted in (also I’ve heard they allow creeps onto the site but I do not know how true that is) Neopets classic is in an indefinite closed beta this is hell I just wanna get back into neopets man :(
