sugardaddy!gojo is the kind of man who knows how to spoil you, both with his money and, more importantly, with his time and attention. imagine a luxurious dinner at a fancy rooftop restaurant where the world feels like it's just the two of you. while the city skyline twinkles, he leans in and whispers something sweet in your ear, his hand resting casually on your knee under the table. he’s the type to show up with a new designer bag, just because he thought it would look perfect on you, or a trip to an exotic beach destination for no reason other than the fact that you deserve it. but the best part? he’s not showing off. he’s just genuinely enjoying making your life easier, more comfortable.
sugardaddy!gojo loves the way your face lights up when he surprises you with something special. whether it’s a rare perfume you’ve had your eye on for ages or a long shopping spree, just to see your eyes sparkle. he’s the kind of guy who knows exactly what you want before you even say it, reading your expressions and picking up on the smallest details. he’ll laugh, looking at you with that smirk, teasing you about how easy it is to make you happy, but deep down, he cherishes these moments. your happiness is like his favorite thing to collect, more valuable than any expensive piece of jewelry or car.
when you’re with sugardaddy!gojo, everything feels like a VIP experience. he’ll arrange surprise dates in places no one else can access, giving you that feeling of being the center of his world. he’s not just throwing money at you, he’s offering you his undivided attention, ensuring every moment feels tailored to you. the way he pampers you with thoughtful gestures, whether it's picking up your favorite snack when you’ve had a long day or sending you a handwritten note to let you know he’s thinking about you, shows just how much he truly cares. it’s not about the price tag; it’s about making you feel special in a way that no one else can.
sugardaddy!gojo who sends you cute little texts throughout the day, voice messages that are full of sweet words. when you’re together, he knows just how to spoil you with affection. whether it’s holding your hand and brushing his thumb over your knuckles, or pulling you into a tight hug just to make sure you feel his warmth. he’s the kind of guy who showers you with attention without overwhelming you.
at the end of the day, sugardaddy!gojo isn’t about flaunting his wealth; it’s about making you feel seen, loved, and appreciated. when you're in his arms, tucked away in his cozy penthouse or curled up with him on a lazy sunday morning, you know that the best thing he’s offering isn’t just the luxury— it’s the way he cares for you with all the softness, affection, and dedication that money can’t buy. his time, his love, his touch, and his unwavering attention to detail are the real gifts he gives.
but sugardaddy!gojo is all about the finer things in life and making sure you're living in luxury, too. he spoils you in ways that feel effortless, always showing up with gifts you didn’t even ask for but absolutely need. designer clothes, shiny new gadgets, that one rare necklace you mentioned in passing months ago, nothing is too much when it comes to you. he loves to watch your eyes light up when he surprises you, and the way you thank him with a kiss on the cheek makes it all worth it.
whenever you’re together, sugardaddy!gojo makes sure you’re always the center of attention. whether you’re out at a fancy dinner or tucked away in a private lounge, he’ll keep his eyes on you, making you feel like the only person in the room. during dinner, he leans in close, his voice low as he whispers something flirty. he always makes sure to remind you just how beautiful you are, like you’ve never heard it enough.
after the night winds down, you find yourself alone in his penthouse. as soon as the door shuts, sugardaddy!gojo’s lips are on yours— no hesitation, no waiting. it’s slow at first, soft, his fingers gently brushing your cheek as he kisses you like he’s savoring every moment. but then his hands slide down your back, pulling you closer, and you feel the heat between you both rise. you’re pressed against him, his hips gently rutting into yours and the kiss deepens, his lips moving against yours with hurry.
he lifts you with ease, pinning you against the wall with a firm grip on your hips, his lips trailing down your neck as you gasp softly, tilting your head to the side for better access. his hands move to the hem of your dress, fingers slipping beneath it to caress the soft skin of your thighs.
then he moves you toward the bed, hands roaming over your body. with each touch, he’s marking you— his way of reminding you that you're his in every sense of the word. the night goes on with moans and gasps, and the occasional cry as you ride your pleasure out on his long, mean cock.

WORTH IT
carl grimes x fem!reader
(you’re hostage at the sanctuary.)
tags: htc, angst to fluff! warnings for death!
masterlist here!
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
You were starting to wonder if the fighting would ever be worth it. Worth the pain, the deaths, the sacrifices. It all seemed pointless. No matter how hard you guys tried, no matter how much you planned out, Negan was always steps ahead.
He had everything. He had the people, he had guns, he had the power.
Most importantly, he had you.
The day you and Carl had broken into the sanctuary, after returning home you thought that’d be it. You would’ve paid for the price for breaking in later, all he wanted was to see Rick and take your shit and that would be that. But he wanted Eugene. And he wanted you, too. He said you were a good fighter, but most importantly you were good collateral.
You expected being held hostage by Negan would be more traumatic than it actually was. You’d expect to be locked in a room with no food or water. Turns out, they treat some of their hostages like royalty. You and Eugene were separated but you were given your own room with everything you could possibly need.
It’s almost like he wanted you to feel grateful to be there. He’d given you everything. New clothes, fresh food, some form of power so you can get whatever you want whenever. All because you’re valuable to Carl, who was valuable to Rick. They couldn’t do anything because then they’d hurt you. That’s the last thing anyone wanted. It’s the last thing Carl wanted.
It killed him, it really did. He believed you’d be treated horribly at the sanctuary and he had every reason to believe that. He did everything in his power to convince his dad to go retrieve you. And he did.
It’d been maybe a day or two after Negan had taken you and Eugene. You hadn’t seen Eugene at all since, but the morning of, you had the chance to see him in the hallway. You thought maybe there’d be a chance he’d help you with an escape plan, he’s smart. All he did was walk past you like you were nothing. You stood in the hallway appalled, like he was a completely different person.
You continue down the hallway, swallowing the lump forming in your throat from the feeling of pure helplessness as you approach the laundry room. You’d given them Carl’s flannel with all your clothes to wash when you arrived. You notice the couple of workers inside, scrubbing the clothes relentlessly. “Um…hi.” you squeak out, waiting for them to notice your presence over the loud sounds of splashing water. One of them notices you and taps the lady beside her to look at you. “S’there somethin you need?” She asks. You fiddle with your hands, trying to look around for what’s yours.
“I arrived two days ago…I’m looking for my clothes…but I don’t need them I just need my flannel back.” You explain nervously, hoping they didn’t do anything with Carl’s flannel. They sigh and look around, wiping the sweat off their faces when a woman finds it in a random basket. She wipes her hands off on herself and picks it up, wrapping it up and tossing it to you. You smile and thank them before retreating back into the hallway, grinning as you pull his blue flannel over your shoulders, feeling some sort of comfort for the first time in a couple days.
You return back to your room and just sit on the bed in there, looking around trying to think of something you can do to get out when you hear a knock on your door, followed by a voice you hate to here. Negan. “Knock-knock!” His voice is taunting. You roll your eyes and stand up, walking over to open the door to his obnoxious face. You don’t speak a word. “Well hi there.” he smiles, setting his bat against the doorframe. Your face remains flat.
“I know how hard this is on ya darlin, I do. I’m sure you’re missin eye patch back home but you gotta understand why I’m doin this.” He welcomes himself into your room, pacing a little before stopping in front of you. You still say nothing.
“Well since you insist on keepin your mouth shut I’ll just get outta your hair. Stay outta trouble, I need you alive.” He says, walking towards the door. “And please, do me a favor, stay away from Eugene. I don’t need you two plottin against me.” He smiles. When you still say absolutely nothing, he waves sarcastically.
He leaves you alone once again. You’re still unsure of what to do, but you eventually muster up the courage to walk around the Sanctuary. You have the freedom (sort of) and power to do so. You walked around and wandered outside, watching people work, transporting boxes and such. You walk around some more, kicking the rocks on the ground when you feel a glare in your eyes. Your eyebrows furrow in confusion but when you look up to the woods, you see someone. You can’t exactly make out who it is but you can tell that they’re holding a gun.
As soon as you make that realization, you hear soft popping noises, followed by the sound of bodies falling to the ground. You look around you to the men and guards working to see they’re all fallen to the ground. You have the urge to just run, but you hear a voice before you do. You turn back around to see Rick who’s cutting a hole in the wired gates.
“Cmon we need to go. Now.” He whispers loudly. You run over to him, trying to ignore the ruckus behind you of walkie-talkies wondering why no one was responding. You didn’t have much time to get out before someone noticed. You two practically sprinted to the wooded area nearby.
“Was that you?” You ask him, referencing to the glare from the woods. “It was us. But not me.” He explains as you enter the woods. You’re confused at first because what the fuck does that mean. Then it clicked that he wasn’t alone.
You walk through the woods a bit more until you reach the road, approaching a car that Carl was standing on the other side of. He notices you and immediately runs over to you, enveloping you in a big hug. He held you so tightly, all you felt in the moment was pure love. He pulls back and smiles before looking around your body.
“What?” You ask as he’s pulling up your sleeves and pushing hair out of your face, looking for any injuries. “Are you okay? They didn’t hurt you?” He looks at you confused, like he’d expected you’d come out injured.
“No they didn’t hurt me at all.” You reply, letting him hug you once more. Rick interrupts and explains the situation. “Rosita and Sasha are goin in later to get out Eugene. We’ve got other business to attend to; gotta get you to the Kingdom so they don’t go lookin at Alexandria for you.” He explains, loading his bolt cutters into the trunk. You shake your head at him, pulling away from Carl’s arms. “No. He’s too far gone. He’s one of them now.” You say with a slight sniffle. Rick doesn’t respond, he just has a sort of grim expression.
The three of you load back into the car, you and Carl sitting in the backseat so he can hold you while you drove home. He ran his fingers through your hair as you leaned onto him, occasionally kissing the top of your head. It was a peaceful ride home. You’d face the consequences later. All that mattered right now was you and Carl.

Poseidon:
Tumblr media
🔱 hates it. Too loud. Too many people. Too many peasants, too crowded. No fishes and no sea.
🔱 now, as much as he hates it, he does enjoy certain rides. Like the dodgems. Although he sometimes is way too rough.
🔱 you’ll probably spot him on the bench judging ppl. He’s the type that holds your bag and valuable stuff when you go into any of the rides
🔱 he plays claw machine games or them throwing games w the cans. He actually always wins a price too.
🔱 is scared of heights. He won’t tell you that either. You’ll be sitting in a ride and when you turn to your side you’ll just see him wide eyes n all. When his ass got out of the ride he tumbled down and tongued the floor.
🔱 But, he doesn’t get sick, mostly because he doesn’t eat anything before he goes into a ride. (Give him sum food pls he’ll tumble down again)
🔱 Hades convinced him to go into the booster. Yall lucky he still alive. Man was almost bricked up cause of the adrenaline. You could basically hear him scream while Hades laughed at him. What a wholesome sibling moment
🔱 He was terrified after that and just camped in the bathroom stall but found them disgusting so eventually came out.
🔱 He won a shark plushie that he carried around and refused to let anyone hold. He later gave it to his S/O as a present.
🔱 he might go into those ‘romantic’ rides. Like the swan stuff, cause he gets to see pretty decorated water.
🔱 lowkey liked the Farris wheel?? 🤨 despite him not liking heights he did like the view of the Farris wheel. Mostly at night cause then you can see all the bright lights n all (so real Poseidon)
🔱 He had a contest with Loki about who could win the most prices, mostly plushies cause the other prizes suck, and they would give it to their S/O.
🔱 you might spot him with some type of headband. Mostly to keep his hair out of the way and the other because his S/O might like seeing him with it
🔱 his S/O also won a plushie for him and he was lowkey so happy about it fr
🔱 Skips the line. Not sure if it’s every where but you can buy vip and skip the line if you pay more in amusement parks, yeah if the fair has em he buys em. Offers more money to skip the line. Blud is not patient❌‼️
🔱 he ate some food there (called it peasant food) he surprisingly dislikes churros but loves fries (what a picky eater) he bought it like 3 times while he kept an eye on the bags.
🔱 bought over priced slushies in all flavors. His favorite was blueberry and orange btw
🔱 Moaned when he ate mozzarella sticks and corn dogs.

💀 thinks state fairs could be a fun date.
💀 he probably went into everything. Might even have went in some multiple times.
💀 his favorites are the Reactor and Breakdance. As well as Chaos. Only it depends on the Chaos cause some are very short, he likes the high ones a lot. And ofcourse the booster because why not.
💀 he’s the type to casually say ‘let’s try that one!’ And it looks like the death itself. Ironic. But he aint scared off em, brodie can sit there with a straight face.
💀He also likes those parkour stuff. Like a haunted houses, the ones where the whole ground shakes and you have obstacles where you need to get trough.
💀 dw guys he’s hades. Aka god of riches for he has enough money to go into all of the rides, multiple times. He’s probably there for like a week cause he on vacation or holidays.
💀 Also won a lot of plushies but that’s cause of his skill. He probably competed with Poseidon to see who can win the most. He gifted him the sea plushies and kept hello kitty for himself
💀 He actually doesn’t eat. Mainly cause he had like a routine for when he eats or he probably already ate. He’ll only eat gum.
💀 He’s the type that tried to dress ‘casual’ but you could still know he’s rich and probably could buy your whole family.
💀 He likes romantic rides too. So like the swan ride although he likes to annoy Poseidon with it. Like he’ll stand in the exist and be like ‘is that the only ride you’ll go in?’
💀 He’s either in all the rides or just sitting there and paying attention to like the bags n shi. He probably thinking about his work or something like that.
💀 one of the few who went in everything and didn’t get sick or dizzy cause of it
Loki
Tumblr media
🎭 he’s probably going to annoy those who are scared of the rides and rub in their faces that he can handle them by buying all the pictures during the ride.
🎭 actually only goes if the rest is going, mainly to bother people. If not many are going you wont catch him alone there, he the type to laugh if you’re scared if the rides
🎭 his favorite are the tilt-a-whirl type. Mainly because you’re trapped in it and you get spun around, and each time it goes faster. So he likes it cause it’s chaotic and fun.
🎭 because of the fact he floats a lot, he’s not afraid of heights and the fastness of the rides, concluding he’ll ride the booster or the ones that shoot you very much up in the air.
🎭 he actually enjoys theme parks better than fairs mainly just cause it had themes💀
🎭 When he’s in the state fair he has a one thing he always buys as tradition: a candied apple, that’s cause he really likes the sweet crunchy candy and the juicy inside of the apple. He often goes for green apples because it then had a sweet and sour taste he likes
🎭 hell spent his money on fortune tellers. Not because he cares or is curious about his future, he just thinks it’s funny that mortals try to make him believe they have some type of power. He finds it funny and amusing
🎭 he also likes the mysterious air in the fortune tellers’ tent, it reminds him of witchcraft. The some, the lil lighting, the glass ball, the mysterious person with a cloak. He thinks it’s funny and cool
🎭 he likes parkour rides. Not for the parkour itself but because he’ll hide and jumpscare others. It may or may not end very well depending on the person he’s scaring.
🎭 he also plays lots of games. He’s the type to go there when a kid is doing it so that he can beat them and take the price they wanted just to see them cry💀
🎭 he’ll probably act insane for the funzies. He’ll stare at random ppl or growl at them. Or he’ll start screaming and ppl think he’s crazy. Loki is a social experiment.
🎭 He screams in roller coasters. Not because its scary but because its the only moment he can scream without ppl giving him weird looks or being labeled as insane. He’ll be at the very front in the roller coaster tho.
🎭 he brings his own candy, usually sour and sweet. So candy ropes, gummies and hard candy. But the hard candy may melt depending on the temptation. He may or may not have use for it.

Madripoor High (Part 1)
Tumblr media Tumblr media
A/N: ok so hum... First part of something new... I have no idea for a title so please throw some ideas in the comments... Yes i have added a little hint of marvel but it is not in the marvel universe! I just love Madripoor. I kinda have the tittle 'Madripoor High' in mind but I'm not sure... Don't even know if I'll keep this going just... Let me know in the comments. Also edited this on my phone... Kinda sucky, I'll put it back correctly if I do keep it going.
Warnings: sexual talk, weapons etc.
-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-
Cars passing by and people walking to their destinations. The busy city boomed around you, muffled by the headphones on your head. Your music blocked the chaos of London. You enjoyed London. You found it beautiful. Amongst all the countries you've been to… and that list was quite long, you enjoyed the weather. Exactly. The gloomy, rainy weather. The black umbrella shielding you from the crystal droplets as you walked to a small cafe. You were greeted as you entered, dropping your shield at the entrance before taking place at a table in a corner far from others.
Your coat was removed, your backpack opened to free your laptop. The nice waitress walked to you after several minutes, asking for your order.
"I'd like a hazelnut cappuccino and… the crumble please" you answered with a smile.
As she walked away you looked around, the almost empty cafe was quiet, the few people chatting or working. You smirked, turning to your laptop you went to check for your payment. You smiled as you watched the enormous figure in your credit account. Yes. Credit. Because in the underground, money is important, but credits… Those are so much more valuable. The Madripoor currency.
Sighing, you let yourself lean back on the sofa chair, crossing your arms. You were proud. After everything you've gone through, you have managed to become one of the most prized citizens of Madripoor. The hard work you've put in has paid off, the contracts have piled up, the price tag always climbing up. Your speciality? Tracking. To get into details, it was hacking. Now you mostly used it to track down targets for big mean people who always have something against another big mean one. You were good. You were the fucking best. So yes. You were proud, even if you had no one to be proud of you.
Cup placed in front of you, you were taken out of your daydream. You smiled up, thanking the waitress, closing your laptop and pushing it to the side to bring your little treats closer to you. Contract over, now you were free until you accepted the next one. It would fall quite fast, yes, but you thought you might get some rest. Go back to Madripoor, to Hightown, and rest.
You took a bite of the crumble, feeling the sweetness of it making you relax. You thought you might go shopping once you'd got back. Maybe you'd stay in and play, watch some movies. Maybe you'd go to Downtown…
A soft buzz captured your attention. You grabbed your phone, looking at the screen. Someone was calling. No one called. Very few… barely anyone had this number. It was used for emergencies only and it had been a year and half since it rang. You frowned. It foreshadowed something entirely different than a break. You sighed. Curiosity eating at you. Before it was too late you answered.
"Hello?"
"Tracker."
You frowned. A woman's voice. A woman who knew your screen name. Only people from Madripoor knew it. Or people extremely close to Madripoor.
"Be quick." You said.
"You were never patient muñeca."
Muñeca. Doll. In Spanish. You sighed, closing your eyes.
"Valeria, you fucking bitch, I thought you were in jail."
"I was. I got out. Then that cabron de Alejandro trapped me."
You smirked. Alejandro. You haven't met the man, but by the amount of times she had complained about him, it's like you knew him already. A little voice was heard behind her, notifying you that she wasn't alone in that call.
"Where are you calling me from?"
"A military base. I need your help."
"No."
"You didn't listen."
"Go on I'm listening."
"We need help to find-"
"No."
She sighed. Helping her? It was already risky. You could. You could get her out and free her but she'd get herself into trouble again. Helping the military? You? Tangled in the deepest roots of criminality? It was the stupidest thing to ask of you.
"Come on. You love a challenge. And I have one just for you."
"It doesn't matter if I love a challenge. You're on high speaker aren't you?"
"Well-"
"Of course you are. They wouldn't let you call anyone without supervision. They know who I am? They know what I do?"
"They do." She said, a hint of amusement in her voice.
"So what's going to happen? I help and then what? They got pretty little pink handcuffs for me?"
"Well you can ask the skull face to put them on. Or the ADHD Scot." She answered even more amusedly.
"Valeria… what?" You asked confused.
"Come on. It'll be very interesting. I know you're curious. And this… is like tracking a sin cara."
"A no face?"
Damn. She might succeed to make you interested. But she might be bluffing as well.
"Yes. We need to find Echo."
"Echo? The scientist working for various cartel's and Mafia bosses? The man that no one has ever met or even seen?" You asked, irony dripping from your tongue.
"Are you skeptical?"
"Echo doesn't exist. It's a stupid invention from some idiots to sell products at a higher price. You're wasting my time. Goodbye and good luck Valeria" You rolled your eyes.
"I have proof."
You froze. Proof? Now curiosity prickled your skin. What kind of proof? How did they get it?
"Hello?"
"Shut up. I'm thinking."
She chuckled on the other side.
"We've heard that your work is based on contracts. We'd like to offer you a contract." A voice rang.
The raspy voice was soft but commanding. A man, probably in his 40's. He sounded calm, determined.
"And who might you be?" You asked, taking a sip of your cappuccino who was growing cold.
"I'm Captain John Price."
A captain. Fair enough.
"What kind of contract?"
"You help us, we find Echo, we neutralize him and get Intel. You get immunity on this mission and after your part is done, you have 24 hours to vanish."
You thought about the question. Finding Echo. Might be the golden contract for you. Not that you needed it. But this… this was a challenge. Not the boring easy tracks that you had to do. You knew how even the high table of Madripoor was starting to get annoyed about this intriguing character. Countering rules in Hightown and Downtown. This might be an opportunity to kill two birds with one stone. You looked around you, at the calm cafe. Fuck… you might not get that break after all. You closed your eyes, preparing yourself to accept a deal you might regret.
"48 hours. Full immunity from the moment I step into your base until the end of the contract. I do things my way. You get your guy, your Intel. That's it. I'm not getting in the middle of the cartel's and other big brainless gorillas." You stated.
"Fine." You heard after a few pending seconds.
"Alright. I'll think about it." You finished.
"Didn't you just agree?" Another voice rang.
This time it was more… alive. The Scottish accent meant it was one of the men Valeria had mentioned.
"I'll agree when you'll receive the contract. I have to check something before I agree. I'll contact you and travel to you. Don't worry, you'll get an answer in the next few hours." You explained, opening your laptop.
"Should we send you a location? An email?" Another voice again. British accent but cute voice.
"No. I know where you are. I know how to contact you. I'll do so when the time's come."
"How?" The Scottish voice echoed in your ear.
"Oh… she'll have no problem with it." Valeria answered.
"See you soon." You concluded, hanging up.
Entering the base was easy. The new recruits keeping the gates were easily distracted. You infiltrated the base, making sure to deviate the cameras and stealing a 'visitor' badge.
You walked around, white wool shirt, black shorts with tights. Thigh high socks over your tights and comfy running shoes. Your black backpack and phone in hand. Sometimes, the best way to hide is to get attention… especially from men. You'd feel the looks, the way they were directed to your thick thighs, or neck, in plain view as you had pulled your hair back.
You were chubby, not exactly thin, tummy showing and chubby cheeks. At least, that was what was usually romanticized, the thighs, ass and boobs being overly sexualized. You wanted to roll your eyes. But eventually sometimes, men or women easily fall for it.
You took your time to walk around, discovering the grounds, the badge often being watched by what seemed to be higher ups. You'd fain innocence and bat your lashes when getting caught in places you shouldn't be, before letting them turn their backs and walking straight to where you wanted to. You weren't exactly wanting to be hidden right now. You were good at it. Hiding. But right now you wanted to explore.
The contract had been sent, signed and sent. You had gotten a chance to engage with the high table who agreed to such a contract. You didn't really need their approval. But you didn't want your place in Madripoor to be compromised by working with 'the good guys'. Not only did the high table saw no problem in it but they greatly appreciated you going after Echo. You were right, the character was definitely getting on their nerves, the echoes of him creating some ruckus in downtown.
You walked around a huge warehouse, military gear sprawled around. Most were used for training. You heard some noise not too far, deciding to hide behind big wooden shipping boxes. Voices echoed through the big place. You tried not to look too much. If you can see them, they can see you. You'd rather use your other senses to localize them. You only took one glance at two men standing back to you near a table full of items. One was overly talking while the other one rummaged through what seemed to be his gear bag. The man talking had a mohawk. It made you smile. The other one… was obviously wearing something over his head, but with their backs turned to you, you couldn't make out any more details.
The light reflected into the shinny blade of a combat knife. You blinked, almost hypnotized by it. You wanted it. The two men walked away, still babbling. You waited a few minutes before stepping out of your hiding place, going straight for the bag. You opened it, looking through the different things, looking for the pretty black mat combat knife. You almost jumped in place when you found it, taking the thingy with you before skipping back to your little exploration. This time, in a much more concealed way.
You watched, you spied. You wanted to understand how the base worked before letting yourself meet your contractors. Above the training ground, higher up in some kind of level that was used to put away all the training mats and other training things. It was the perfect spot to look over the training grounds, inside of the warehouse. You watched the men fight each other. It was almost entertaining. Your eyes caught the mohawk boy again, teasing another man. The boy with a cap seemed to joyfully indulge in whatever he was saying.
They looked next to them, a big figure stepping into view. You frowned. The man's face was veiled with a mask, a skull… it wasn't printed. Was it a real skull? You put two and two together, now realizing this was the owner of the combat knife. You chuckled to yourself. As he stopped into the training ring, young recruits palling, your interest peaked.
Thirsty minutes passed by in a flash. You watched in amusement and almost in awe how the mountain of a man threw around the soldiers. He was strong. Fast. You could hear him scold every wrong move of the poor soldiers who faced him. He seemed to look around swiftly every time he had a break.
You stretched, feeling your limbs getting sore from sitting here watching the show. You blinked, watching down again, telling yourself that you should get going.
Eyes. Dark eyes. Looking straight at you. Your breath caught in your throat, a cold wave running through you. His gaze was cold looking up through the mask. You immediately rushed back behind something to hide. How? How?! You wore nothing shiny. You made sure that nothing could reflect light. You were hiding perfectly. How?!
You wanted to take another glance but it was too dangerous. You decided to get moving, your position now compromised. You hopped around to reach ground level. You skipped your way into an empty part of the warehouse. You remained as silent as possible, making sure that even your steps were inaudible. After twenty long minutes you allowed yourself to breathe. Maybe he hadn't seen you in the darkness and you were fine. It had been three hours that you were on base, and you were getting slightly hungry. Perhaps you'd get a snack before finally meeting the contractors.
You looked around, trying to figure which way out could lead you to a building where there was food. The empty warehouse only seemed to echo the voices of soldiers outside, barely audible and muffled. You grabbed your phone, walking towards a back door. Maybe you'd get off base to eat and then come back. You were craving pizza, perhaps-
You slammed against a wall. Not exactly a wall. A wall of a man. You looked up. Eyes falling into a skull mask. Shit. Something told you. That playing innocent. Batting your lashes, won't help with this one. You took a step back, his brows furrowing. You both froze for a split second, tension giving you goosebumps before you reacted the only way your brain could at the moment. You ran.
Throughout the warehouse, jumping over gear, boxes and other stuff that you didn't mind to look at. Why were you running? You were supposed to have immunity. But he didn't know who you were. Not yet. The sound of his heavy boots was the only thing you could hear. Shit the man was swift. He was fast and nimble. You parkoured your way to the back door, almost reaching it until you were tackled against a wall. The shock made you wince, cursing out. You were stuck. Stuck in between a wall, and a strong body. Unfortunately you had both run to a dark corner of the warehouse. You could barely see his eyes in the darkness. You were panting.
He shared your gaze. Eyes never leaving yours. The darkness of them made you shiver. It was odd. That tingly feeling all over you. You barely realized how your wrists were pinned above your head, in his large hand. Didn't even notice his other hand… around your throat. He wasn't applying pressure. He was securing you in place, warning you. You were trapped. You have been trapped very often at the beginning of your… career. However, it had never made you feel like this. Small. Hunted. Like a prey under the claws of a predator. There was no ego, no dumb boy trying to prove something. He had chased you down on instinct, caught you in a primal way. Honestly. It was hot. Thrilling.
"Who are you?" His deep voice said.
Shit… even his voice was hot. Putting your new kink aside, you frowned, gaining back some composure.
"Santa Claus." You let out ironically.
The hand around your throat squeezed menacingly. You gasped. He remained silent awaiting your new answer.
"I.. I'm a visitor." You tried, maybe the innocent act would work.
He pulled on your wrists, having you on your toes now. A last warning.
"T..tracker…" you mumbled.
He seemed in thought for a few seconds before releasing the pressure on your neck and wrists, but keeping them in his hold.
"How did you get in?" He questioned.
Ah yes… the usual interrogation.
"The young boys at the entrance are easily distracted…" you mumbled again.
You weren't pissed. You weren't exactly pouting… maybe a bit. You weren't expecting to be caught, or to be put in your place. You weren't expecting to be under someone's hold like this. You looked away.
"You armed?" He asked.
"I have my phone. It's the only weapon I need." You said, keeping the combat knife a little secret. Mostly because you wanted to keep it and he won't let you. He straightened himself, towering over you.
"I'm going to let you go. You better behave." He warned.
God.. you wanted to brat. You wanted to anger him and test him. You rolled your eyes at him, as the hand holding your wrists released. However the other remained on your throat. You frowned looking up at him, as your hands wrapped around his wrist. He stepped closer to you, eyes never leaving yours. Now what was he doing? He said he was letting you go…
Eyes widening, you felt the other hand roam your waist. You tried to push him away but he squeezed at your throat keeping you in place, your hands flying to his chest to fist in shirt. The hand traveled to your sides, down your back, then back to your side to finally reach your thighs.
"S..stop!" You let out, blushing.
"Breathe… I'm checking for weapons." He said in a chuckle.
He frowned, his hand meeting the handle of… shit. The combat knife was tucked into the back of your shorts, hidden by your shirt. You closed your eyes as he pulled it out.
"No weapons huh? You're already-" he stopped looking at the handle. "That's my fucking knife. You stole it?"
"I borrowed it. Sharing is caring right? We're on the same team…" you answered with a smile.
He put away his knife before spinning you around, bringing your back to his chest. How the hell did he move so fast?! How did he manage to pin your wrists behind you… and HANDCUFF YOU?
"Hey! Where's my immunity?" You complained.
"I'm not arresting you."
"You're handcuffing me to satisfy a kink?" You teased him in a bitter tone.
"I'm keeping you from stealing again. And I'm taking you to Price."
"Who?"
No answer, he simply pulled you forward, holding your wrists behind your back. Well. Wasn't this the perfect start to a contract?

whumptober day 4(unfinished)
not tagging this one either cause i didn't finish it
cw: mind control, non-con drugging
The glimmer of The Iridescence was almost blinding, but they didn’t have much choice but to enter. The inside of the nightclub was just as opulent, though went for a dimmer vibe, the lights pulsed in time to the music, purples, blues and greens washing over the walls like an oil spill on water.
Knox and Khanna couldn’t have cared less, they had work to do and any partying would have to wait. Their job was fairly simple: find a deserter named Paxt Ren, who had apparently stolen some incredibly valuable data and went awol after an undercover mission. He didn’t have to be alive when they found him, they just needed to retrieve the data he stole, though the contents of the data were classified, so they really didn’t know what they were looking for.
--
She had her mandibles wrapped around his neck in less than a second, one hand covered his gun holster, the other grabbed his hair tightly. Khanna drew her gun, but there was no clean shot that wouldn’t hit Knox, so she just pointed it at Lady Roach, waiting for an opening. She tried to speak diplomatically, “There’s no need for threats like this, you’re not in any trouble with the protectorate, we just need information.”
Knox stood perfectly still, staying professional despite the danger. His breathing was slow and even, betraying no fear. Khanna had always admired that, though she had a feeling it was that same stoicism that made him so difficult to talk with sometimes. The way he looked around, and how his hands twitched slightly with restless energy were the only signs he was anything but relaxed.
Lady Roach chuckled, or, the insect equivalent of a chuckle. “Oh, don’t worry. I have no intentions to hurt either of you. I’ve just decided that simply giving information would be quite boring. So we’re going to make it a game.”
“There’s no need for that. All we need to know is Specialist Paxt Ren’s recent movements. We know he was here a week ago, and we need to know what he did and where he may have gone.” Khanna spoke firmly, gun still trained on Lady Roach.
“Of course, I’d be more than happy to hand over everything I know, including CCTV recordings. But…” She grinned and wrapped a set of arms around Knox’s torso, pulling him closer. “... Everything has a price dear. And everyone pays.”
She bit into the back of Knox’s neck, her mandibles tightened and his hands shot to his throat instinctively as his air was cut off. Something pinched at the base of his skull, a needlelike pain, followed by a slight burning sensation spreading throughout his head. He grunted, and his eyelids started to flutter as a feeling of drowsiness washed over him. Khanna yelled something that he couldn’t hear, as every sensation was replaced with a strange sort of humming, not quite a sound, not quite a feeling. It was comforting, warm even.
Lady Roach let go and Knox slumped to his knees, head lolling to the side. Khanna ran to him and examined his neck for injuries, the only sign of the attack was a small bead of blood that pearled right below his hair. His eyes were unfocused, heavy and he tilted his head at her, giving a small smile. Khanna looked up, “What did you do to him?”
Lady Roach crossed the room and dropped herself into a plush velvet chair, pulling her knees up and leaning her chin on one of her hands. “Nothing lethal, don’t worry. Just a toxin my species can produce.” She waved dismissively 2 of her hands, “It suppresses the amygdala mostly, restricts fear and stress. Makes things quite… Pliable…”
Khanna wasn’t particularly happy with the way this meeting was going. “How permanent is it?”
“The amount I gave him should last a few hours, more than enough time to have some fun, wouldn’t you say? Now, to business.”

I once found myself foolishly complaining to my old therapist about some deeply unsatisfying exchange I had on tumblr with somebody who had willfully misconstrued what I said and was going after me about what they decided I meant, just because that was what they would rather talk about. You know, the usual. My therapist threw me off my game by just asking my why I post here to begin with, instead of indulging my desire to passionately bitch and moan. She seemed very skeptical about whatever I said, I had the idea that she wanted me to admit that I was either looking for a fight, or attention, or validation from a bad source where I am destined to encounter a lot of friction. (Man o man, if only she knew about the absolutely bonkers and irrational "you are valid" culture we have here...) And I mean, she's right, you ARE destined to encounter a lot of friction on tumblr if you do anything remotely personal with it, but somehow that annoyance can be outweighed by
a) the internal satisfaction of putting your thoughts in order
b) the catharsis of venting, even into the void
c) the small but unignorable possibility that someone will deeply understand what you said, or have something relevant and provocative to add based on their own unique and valuable experience/expertise.
I think about turning off replies all the time now, quite a lot of the time there's someone being rude either on purpose or inadvertently, because they're too obtuse or thoughtless to consider the implications or real usefulness of what they are saying. Sometimes I think about turning off reblogs on everything too, and I'm trying to develop the habit of stopping before I post to ask myself, every single time, how I'm going to feel when some total cretin reblogs something that is obviously either not universally applicable (e.g. just personal in-the-moment venting) or actually not their business (discussion of personal tragedy that you'd think people would have the good sense to leave alone, like just let strangers who need to talk about something do so in peace?). All of these things have happened more and more lately, and I think what would be really great for me is if I developed a much tougher hide, if I developed a mental baleen that filters out all the shit I don't need to care about and lets in all the tasty, nutritious stuff that I'm actually here for, that I like so much that it makes all the chaff totally worth it.
My problem is that I don't have that natural thing that tells you what incoming stimulus is relevant and what you can completely ignore, I'm curious about EVERYTHING especially how other people think and behave. When I hear something insulting or idiotic directed at me I immediately start processing it like it's a mystery that it is my duty to unravel, instead of casually throwing it in the trash like I should. This morning I posted about how I was reminded of a personal tragedy by some stupid thing a business did to me, and I get this complete stranger unloading his own version of that tragedy, only to then condemn me morally for my interaction with the business. Like does he think I'm going to be so humbled by his "direct action" that it's going to change the world? What was the goal besides picking a fight before the sun is all the way up in the sky? Yesterday I posted links to a bunch of film scholarship I published along with some new blu ray releases, literally calling it my life's work, and somebody reblogged it and put in the tags that they don't like one of the movies and they don't know what the other two are. So...what was the point here? Are you planning on buying two expensive collector's editions of movies you don't know by a director you don't like? I mean thanks for promoting my work, I guess if the price of your sponsorship is that you say rude, pointless things that don't mean anything to anyone, then I'll take it? It might have a positive impact on my mental health if I turned off replies and reblogs universally, but then I wouldn't get to hear from any of the smart and nice guys I've met on here who have opened my eyes to all sorts of things. So yeah my Christmas wish or New Year's resolution or whatever is to give a shit much, much more selectively, for the rest of my life.
PS Regarding disagreements on the internet: There is an important qualitative difference between someone saying something you find disagreeable on their own blog, which you don't even have to be aware of if you don't want to, and someone going out of their away to like cross into your yard to start a fight about what's on your blog ~as if~ you had called them on the phone and said it directly to them personally. Most of what you see on the internet doesn't require your input at all, if you don't really have anything to add except your own emotional content. The difference: Learn it, know it, live it!

How MoizWordpress Automated a Gaming Console Inventory with WooCommerce and Google Sheets
Tumblr media
A few months ago, we took on a project that would challenge our creativity and technical expertise in ways we hadn't anticipated. Our client, an ambitious retailer of gaming consoles, approached us with a unique problem: they needed to streamline their inventory management, which was becoming increasingly cumbersome. The solution? A seamless integration between Google Sheets and WooCommerce that would automatically update their online store with the latest products, taxonomies, and tags. And to make it even more exciting, the entire process had to be automated through a cron job that would run at a specific time every month.
The Challenge
From the outset, we knew this project was going to be interesting. The client was managing their gaming console inventory in a Google Sheet. Every time they wanted to update their online store, they had to manually input the data into WooCommerce—a tedious process that was eating up valuable time and resources.
The goal was clear: we needed to create a system where all product data, including details like console types, storage capacities, and even color options, would be automatically imported from Google Sheets into WooCommerce. But it didn’t stop there. We also had to generate the correct taxonomies and product tags, ensuring everything was organized and searchable. And the best part? This all needed to happen on autopilot, triggered by a monthly cron job.
Crafting the Solution
We began by diving deep into the Google Sheet where the client kept all their data. Each row represented a gaming console, with columns for various attributes like brand, model, operating system, RAM, and more. We knew that every piece of information in this sheet had to find a home in WooCommerce, so we mapped out how each column would correspond to a product property, taxonomy, or tag in the store.
The first step was to create a custom WooCommerce integration that could read the Google Sheet data. We developed a script that would pull the information directly from the sheet, process it, and then push it into WooCommerce. This wasn’t just about creating products; we needed to ensure that each product was categorized correctly, with all relevant taxonomies and tags.
To make the shopping experience even better, we added a feature that allowed users to compare prices and features across different gaming consoles. This comparison tool would enable customers to make well-informed decisions, comparing specs like storage capacity, operating system, and price points—all at a glance.
We then turned our attention to the cron job. The client wanted the store to be updated automatically at a specific time each month, reflecting any changes made to the Google Sheet. To achieve this, we set up a cron job on their server that would trigger our script at the designated time. This cron job would fetch the latest data, compare it with what was already in WooCommerce, and make any necessary updates—whether it was adding new products, modifying existing ones, or deleting items no longer available.
Overcoming the Hurdles
Like any project, we encountered our share of challenges. One of the biggest was ensuring that the data transfer was both accurate and efficient. Google Sheets is a fantastic tool, but when you're dealing with large amounts of data, things can get a little tricky. We had to carefully manage how the data was read and processed to avoid any potential issues like timeouts or incomplete transfers.
Another challenge was making sure that the cron job ran smoothly without interrupting the client's site. We tested the process extensively, running it at different times and with varying amounts of data to ensure that everything would work as intended when it went live.
The Outcome
When we finally deployed the solution, the results were exactly what the client had hoped for. Their WooCommerce store was now fully integrated with Google Sheets, and the monthly cron job was keeping everything up to date without any manual intervention. The client could focus on growing their business, confident that their online store was always accurate and up-to-date.
The addition of the price and features comparison tool was a game-changer. Customers could now easily weigh their options, helping them choose the console that best suited their needs and budget. This not only enhanced the shopping experience but also built trust and transparency with their audience.
Final Thoughts
This project was a testament to what the MoizWordPress team can achieve with the right mix of creativity and technical know-how. By thoroughly understanding our client’s needs and leveraging the power of automation, we delivered a solution that not only met but exceeded their expectations. The seamless integration of Google Sheets with WooCommerce, coupled with the addition of a price and features comparison tool, truly transformed their online store.
If you’re looking to streamline your own processes, enhance your e-commerce platform, or simply want to learn more about how we can help bring your ideas to life, we’d love to hear from you. Get in touch with us today to explore how MoizWordPress can elevate your business to the next level.

Thoughts on the shrinking middle class?
I can only speak for the UK, but here goes:
In the late 20th century western societies abandoned the 'Fordian' style of capitalism - where employers recognised their employees had value and needed to be looked after (appropriate wages, benefits, etc.) - to our current mode. Before, employees were seen as something you had to attract and retain - an investment. Companies focused on the long term, on larger projects, on beating their competitors through value, product quality, what have you.
The point is that when my parents were young, things were a bit easier - still shit, mind you, but better than they are now.
Now? Everything is about annual growth and short term profit increases. So long as your investors see an annual increase on their stock, they don't care how you got there or if it's sustainable. Add in firms whose entire profit model is to acquire brands and organisations, artificially boost their profitability by cutting corners, wages, and staff, before flipping it for a higher return - and you've got a recipe for disaster. We went from a model of capitalism that at least acknowledged the humanity of the worker, to one where you're treated as another replaceable drone, as well as a possible source of revenue. We're now more valuable as inert data points, whose information can be traded back and forth by tegh and advertising companies, than we are as consumers with any shred of agency.
So now your job doesn't pay as well, property rates are being artificially inflated by greedy developers and landlords, and every brand or product you encounter has a similarly inflated price tag because it was recently acquired by a corporation that wants to wring as much profit out of its new property as it can before the end of the financial year.
People are getting fucked coming and going, by an overly bloated upper class, shunting even more people below the middle class wealth cut-off. The country is becoming increasingly orientated to the fulfillment of the needs and priorities of the upper classes at the expense of everyone else.
I remember pointing this out to Haitch a while back, how you had all of these bespoke, expensive shops on a high street where most of the shops were going bust and most of the local population can't afford their products. I realised it's a repeat of the experience of most working class Victorians, staring through a shop window and wondering "Who the fuck is that for? Who can afford it?"
Things might get better, but probably not. Capitalism has gotten pretty adept at teetering on the brink of collapse for extended periods, and with the profits being so high, and the perpetrators of this divide possessing no concept of empathy, compassion, or vulnerability to the consequences of their own actions - there's little to no incentive for them to stop.

I heard about that one au. With Grian who knows Minecraft mechanics but nobody else does-
Sounds interesting. Please give
(If you still wanna share it)
Boy am I glad you asked!!!!!
So the premise is that grian’s a watcher and kind of a god? Sorta? At least partially. And he’s been building on a private server of his (as one does) for a few millennia, and he starts to get a little bored, and decides to join a multiplayer server, because player interaction is good every once in a while. And it’s been forever since he’s seen kristen (the goddess of death) so he joins her server!
But when he joins, he notices that everything’s a little. Strange? He didn’t get a communicator on login (which always happens, so he’s very confused) and when he asks some players walking by they look at him weird and ask if he means a ‘phone’ (which he has no clue what that is). Plus, everything’s just kinda… odd. Off. The lighting’s too dim for a place with that many people (which, wow), there are barely any trees and no one’s punching any (even when some say they need wood for a project they just walk past), and no one’s using their inventories.
So grian checks out the details of the server, and hardcore is on. He’s confused at how this many people are still playing with hardcore on, especially with skipping nights by sleeping off, and with such poor lighting. And there’s a huge death count to something called ‘old age’, which he’s never heard of before, and the server-wide pain reception is set to max, and apparently no one had logged in and all of them were bred like passive mobs??? And the only reason he could join like normal was because he was a god and kristen had whitelisted him before the changes were made?????? At least it’s on peaceful mode???
As grian has a very minor meltdown on a bench a chunk away from the empty lot of land that is spawn (which was even more confusing because there’s always some sort of welcome at spawn) and this very polite man with a lovely mustache who introduces himself as mumbo (though grian can see that, since even though name tags are turned off too, he can still see it due to watcher/god) asks if he’s alright, then offers to house grian until he finds a job and can get his own place.
Grian, while at first a little confused at having to buy a house (why not just build one?), he does quickly come to learn that the land costs ‘money’ (why not just use diamonds as currency, like everyone on every server ever??), so the next day (mumbo insisted that he sleep for some reason) he announced that he was going mining a thousand blocks out or so, and left to find a relatively untouched piece of land (leaving a very confused mumbo jumbo in his wake).
He mines for most of the day, and due to the server being on peaceful mode, he is unbothered by monsters, and though he’d assumed that there wouldn’t be anything valuable left to mine due to all the players, all the recourses were practically untouched! Which is also worrying, but he won’t complain if it makes him wealthy! So he returns to mumbo’s home, already having forgotten that land costs ‘money’, and asks mumbo where and how he should build, as the city has a general cohesiveness that he doesn’t want to interfere with.
So mumbo reminds his new friend(?) about the cost of land, and the existence of money, and takes grian to a place that would buy his numerous diamonds, all of which are carbon copies of each other, to a place that would buy them for a fair price, and not ask how he got his hands on them, or how they’re all indistinguishable from one another.
Thus, mumbo whisks grian away to a pawn shop that is admittedly quite seedy, and run by a man named quackity. At first, the man seems to think he’s being targeted by a shabbily-made scam, but once mumbo convinces him to test the diamond’s validity, he becomes thrilled to buy each and every one, his grin somehow widening with every diamond confirmed real. He didn’t ask where the diamonds came from (in a literal sense, as grian brought them out of his inventory one-by-one), and mumbo didn’t ask how buying all these diamonds wasn’t making him bankrupt. A fair trade in many ways.
So grian then uses his new money to buy the largest adjacent plots of land available (which is quite a few, in the richest-people section of the city, where very few people live, which is on the edge of the city and pretty much the middle of nowhere), and he gives half of the rest of the money to mumbo as thanks for helping him out, then sets off to build his new home!
~visual signal that the rest of this is no longer part of the story~
At present, I have 10,761 word of bullet notes of plot points, so I have a full plan for what will probably end up being ~50k words at minimum to the most recent events I have planned, since I tend to drabble on, plus I’ll have to be less vague for… everything! Even what I’ve written here’ll be expanded on a lot when I write it for real, I’m just really excited to talk about it :D
Thank you so much for the ask!! I’ve been wanting an excuse to talk about it for a while, and I’ve only now realized that talking about the stuff I really want to would be spoiling it. But I have so much planned, and it includes so many things!!! I’ll want a beta reader to make sure my plan is coherent first, but even without one, I’ll get it done eventually.
:)

Next Chapter
The Fatui Agent's boots click sharply with every step he takes. The small woman trailing behind him produces a more muffled sound as she struggles to keep up with his long strides. Her white soft-soled leather boots pad along much quicker than the leisurely pace she was used to. They are making their way down a long grey corridor. Large rectangle-shaped lights hung at ten-foot intervals, casting down a dull blue glow that almost didn't reach the black tiled floor far below. If she is being honest, the longer she walks these halls, the more skittish she becomes.
'What was this place? Why was she here?'
As she just about jogs to keep up with the Fatuus, she stares holes into his back, desperately hoping he will finally answer her questions. Seven times now she had tried to get him to explain what is happening. This will make the eighth...
"Where are we going?" She pauses, waiting for a response, he simply kept walking. The woman huffs at his silence. "Why am I here?" This time his left fist clinches, but still, he continues to stubbornly ignore her questions.
'He has no right to be annoyed...', the young woman thinks.
Okay, that is actually nine questions, but she can't help it. Y/N is getting agitated. She did not like being in the dark, at all. She wants answers. After the events of just a few hours ago, she needs them. And to be frank, the woman thinks she deserves them. The H/C woman is confused and frightened by the sudden change in her situation.
Just two hours prior, she had been delivering a package to a visiting merchant from Liyue, it had been his first time in Snezhnaya. He had managed to get himself hopelessly lost trying to locate and retrieve his goods. The man only had so long before his visitor's visa ran out and his time was running thin. The merchant had made several purchases from various shops around the main city in hopes that the imported items would make him a great deal of mora back home. Of course, she hadn't seen anything that looked all that valuable among the items she had delivered...just several nick-knacks, some mediocre jewelry pieces, and a few cases of firewater.
The woman had met him at a café just outside of the port. Y/N had accidentally-though happily- overheard him complaining to one of the wait staff about his predicament and had immediately decided to offer her help with gathering his goods...for a modest amount of mora, of course. Everything in Snezhnaya came at a price.
Y/N didn't have a stable job and just enjoyed the freedom that the situation provided her. She would normally pick up the odd commission from the city folk or Adventure's Guild whenever she needed the money. The jobs she did were pretty lackluster, but they paid well enough. She couldn't complain. To prevent injury to herself, she wouldn't take on the harder tasks from the Guild. The woman simply couldn't keep up with the types of adversaries the institution normally dealt with. No amount of Mora was worth that.
Y/N had just delivered the final package and had been heading through the back alleys of the capital toward her small apartment. The place wasn't much, she didn't need anything all that extravagant. All she needed was her bed, washing facilities, kitchen, and her books.
As the woman had rounded the last corner on her route, she stopped walking. There was a Fatui Agent standing in the middle of the alley with his back to her. She tilted her head curiously wondering what he was even doing here. There wasn't anything of importance around the area.
Under the Tsaritsa's command, the Fatui were the ruling force and backbone of her country. She knew that, of course, but the woman tended to try and avoid them as much as possible. Y/N didn't exactly agree with everything they did, even though just about everyone here in the land of Cryo said it was for the greater good. She wasn't so sure about that...but it wasn't her place to judge them. The organization made her nervous.
Maybe she should backtrack and go the other way around? As she turned to do just that, the Agent pivoted, and she could feel his eyes land on her. The woman paused, watching him out of the corner of her E/C eyes.
'Now what? He already saw me, really no point in going around now.' Hesitantly she turned back toward the alley and began walking in the direction of the man. 'Relax, you have done nothing wrong. No reason to be scared,' As she approached him, the Fatuus simply continued to stare. It was beginning to creep her out.
The crunch of the snow under her feet seemed abnormally loud as she neared him. He stood like a statue in the middle of the walkway. If it hadn't been for the biting breeze fluttering his clothing around him...she could have believed that maybe, he really was made of stone.
She was within arm’s reach of him now. Y/N refused to look directly at him, her eyes were glued to the end of the alley where her warm little corner of the world lay. The woman passed him and after a few seconds breathed a silent sigh of relief.
'Okay, weird.'
Suddenly she felt an iron grip on her right arm, and he yanked her back to his side. She whipped around in surprise and looked up into his masked face just about to demand to know what he thought he was doing. He cut her off before a single syllable could leave her lips.
"You are coming with me." And with that, he turned and began dragging her back the way she had just come. Her eyes had widened in shock, and she stumbled several feet before she had managed to regain her balance. She desperately tried to yank her arm free of his bruising grip but it had been of no use. That's when she had begun hurling her previously unanswered questions. After about ten minutes of this treatment, they had finally approached a carriage...which he had promptly tossed her into. Then they left the capital heading off to Archon's know where.
She is ripped out of her thoughts as the Agent came to a sudden halt. They are standing in front of a large black door. He raises his fist and raps his knuckles against the iron surface twice. For a moment, there was only silence and then a deep voice reverberated from the other side.
"Enter."
The Fatuus grasps the handle and turns, swinging the door open in one swift move. He stands back and tilts his head toward the entrance, indicating that Y/N should enter first.
The frightened woman debates on just turning around and running, but she knew it would do little good. He would be on her before she took more than five steps, she was sure of it. She begins to move hesitantly toward the open room as she returns his gaze. As she steps inside, she is hit with a wave of delicious heat. She had not realized how cold the halls were, being occupied with her questions and confusion.
Y/N glances around the space while making a quick note of the room's furnishings. There is a fireplace placed snugly against the right wall as well as bookcases encasing the space, they reach the ceiling and are complete with a rolling ladder that appears to be attached to a track that can be maneuvered around the room.
The bookcases on three sides are full of books and scrolls but the left wall is filled with numerous jars of ingredients as well as many, many vials of suspiciously glowing liquid, all painstakingly labeled. There are various tables scattered about covered in notebooks, and what she thinks is possibly ruin machine parts. The room is cluttered but surprisingly neat considering all that is crammed into it. In the center of the room, closer to the back wall, stands a massive dark wooden desk. It is covered in various items. Mostly stacks of papers, a scale, an hourglass, a few more vials of liquid, and a medium-sized orb that is gold with red glowing lines crisscrossing its surface....and behind it all, sitting in a high-back ornately carved chair, is a man.
He has medium-length hair that is blue in color, a blue and black hooked mask covering the top half of his face, as well as a single blue earring in the shape of a vial that hangs from his right ear and seemed to glow ominously. He wears an outfit in various shades of black, blue, and white. The whole ensemble is littered with accessories that glow with the same color of light that is emitting from his earring.
He appears to be watching her, although she really can't tell for sure because his eyes are hidden behind the strange mask. His head has lifted in her direction though. That should be a good indicator, 'Right?'
Suddenly, she is pushed none to gently toward the desk. She shoots a glare over her shoulder at the Fatui Agent before she picks her way carefully through the room, winding around the many tables. Within a few short moments, she stands before the blue-haired man, just on the other side of the massive piece of furniture. He simply continues to stare at her as he lay down the pen he had been writing with.
Silence, all except for the Agent's steady breathing coming from behind her and the crackle of the fireplace. As time seems to drag on and nothing happens, her unease increases. She begins fidgeting with her fingers. Apparently noticing this, the man in front of her smiles. At least that is the best word she could think of to describe it. The way his lips stretch is...unsettling to say the least. She is unable to take this situation for much longer. 'Maybe he will answer her questions?', she speaks.
"So...this guy has been refusing to answer any of my questions and I feel that it is kind of unfair regarding the current turn of events." Y/N pauses motioning toward the Fatuus standing behind her. The Agent sighed audibly.
There is another beat of silence before the blue-haired man responds.
"That is not a part of his job description." His voice was deep and rich.
Her brow furrows at his response. 'Okay...rude,' she thought. Taking a deep breath to try and calm herself, she speaks again. "If I'm being honest, I feel like it's only fair to answer. I was dragged here against my will."
The man's smile cracks wider revealing his sharp teeth. Y/N's eyes widen slightly in surprise. 'That's not normal...'
"Oh, I suppose I can indulge you with a few answers. You have had a rather difficult time, after all."
The woman thinks his tone seems rather mocking. She didn't like it and let out a quick breath. “Why was I brought here?"
He tilts his head and seems to regard her for a moment. "That is your first question? Shouldn't it be to ask who I am? It is the normal order of events during a conversation where two people are meeting for the first time."
She snorted. "No. The normal order would be for the person that speaks first to greet the other, introduce themselves, and then ask for the second individual's name. However, nothing about this is normal and certainly not cordial. I was kidnapped remember? My first priority is knowing why I was brought here."
The man chuckles. "Well, I do not need you to give me your name as I already know who you are. We can skip that step." He continues to gaze at the woman expectantly.
Y/N starts at this news. Then again, she really shouldn't be surprised. The Agent had been waiting for her right in front of her home. Certainly, he knew her name. ...but 'Why?' There is another question that needs answering. However, this man is obviously not going to cooperate and answer any questions of hers unless she did things his way. He has an ego; she can already tell. 'Great.' Sighing deeply, she leans forward and braces her hands on his desk.
The woman simply asks, "Who are you?"
His head straightens again, "There, was that so hard? Now that you have been kind enough to ask, I shall indulge you. My name is Il Dottore, however, you may call me The Doctor."
The woman suddenly feels like she has been drenched by a bucket of ice-cold water. She Jerks her hands back, exhaling violently. She knows that name, everyone in Snezhnaya knew all the Harbinger's names. This one is the second and one of the members of the elite group that is feared most. He certainly has a reputation, that is for sure. He is just one of the reasons why she constantly questioned if the Fatui were doing things for the greater good after all. She is not of the mindset that the ends justified the means and his ends, in particular, made her insides churn. Her being here right now in front of this man, whatever the reason was, it is not good. She stands still and just stares at him.
He seems to enjoy her reaction if the ever-widening smile was any indication. He looks unhinged at this point. She supposes that really wasn't too far off. A person would have to be if they did the kinds of things he was known for, surely.
"Cat got your tongue?"
Her courage is shredded at this point. She almost has to dig the words out of her lungs to ask her question again. "Why was I brought here?"
"You were brought to my lab to help me with some experiments. I believe you will fill the role of my newest test subject quite well if the things I have heard are any true indicator."
'The things he has...heard? What things? What did I do to catch his attention? I'm...ordinary.' Her thoughts swirl even more violently now. She is so much more confused.
"Test subject?" She simply questions.
"Of course. I am always in need of new specimens." He says it like it should have already occurred to her.
"What do you need me for specifically? Why not someone else?" The woman wonders if she could worm her way out of this. Maybe convince him she is worthless, and he would let her go. She should feel bad for throwing someone else under the carriage, but she will worry about that later.
"You see, I have been working on a new serum, a variation of one I have used on myself. It is a kind of combat stimulant. It grants the subject superhuman strength, speed, reflexes, stamina, and resilience. As well as helping to hone the mind, allowing it to run faster and perceive the world around the user much clearer. However, this particular version is only temporary and comes with some inconvenient side effects. Namely extreme fatigue, migraines, body aches, nausea, and last but certainly not least, mental instability. I need special subjects to help me to develop this serum into the powerful permanent tool it is meant to be. I believe you are a very special subject. We shall find out soon enough. I have prepared an examination for you using this serum." The Doctor leans back from his desk steepling his black and blue gloved fingers in front of him and his face takes on a more passive expression.
'He thinks I'm special. He doesn't know.' Maybe there is an out. There is no way she is going to be as special as he thinks. Perhaps after this exam, he will let her go after all. She certainly hopes so. That's what she is banking on. ...but there is one little problem, he said the examination involves using the serum on her.
"Mental Instability?" She inquired.
"Yes, that's correct. However, I have crafted a second serum to use in tandem with the first specifically for the purposes of fortifying the mind against that particular nasty side effect, you have nothing to truly worry about."
Y/N seriously doubts that she has nothing to worry about. Not knowing what she knew about him. However, there is obviously nothing she can do about it. She just wants to get this exam over with and go home.
"Okay, I guess so." She pauses, bracing herself. "When are we going to do this examination?"
He smiles again and leans forward, placing his hands on the armrests of the chair. His earring swings.
"As I said, I have already prepared the exam but, to be fair, there wasn't much that had to be done in order to do so. This is a more technical exam. We will prepare you now and start immediately."
He pushes himself out of the chair and stands to his full height. Quickly he turns and makes his way around his desk in just a handful of long strides. He stops only once he had reached Y/N's side.
'He seems excited...he's also very very tall.' She thinks.
"And Darling, I must warn you not to attempt escape, it will not go well for you. When you are not in my presence, this Agent here is assigned to you specifically for protection and to ensure you do not try anything foolish. While he is not authorized to use lethal force...he can, and will, hurt you if the need arises. While I understand this is probably upsetting for you, please be aware that he is only following my orders. So long as you behave, you have nothing to fear. Do you understand?"
Of course, she had already assumed as much. She has no intention of trying to escape...well at least until the perfect opportunity arises. Which would mean that both The Doctor and the Fatui Agent will have to be out of the area. She wonders if there would be a time when they did truly leave her alone. Probably not. 'I just have to prove to him that he is wrong about me.'
"Yes," the young woman snorts.
Then her eyes move to the other man in the room. He appears to stretch to his full height (which was still several inches shorter than Il Dottore) and looks Y/N up and down with little expression before sighing audibly again.
Apparently, he is also not happy about this arrangement. 'Sucks for you, buddy. If I have to be miserable, so do you.'
"Excellent!" He turns to the Agent on his left side. "You are dismissed for now. I will send a Segment to fetch you when I am ready for you to take the subject to her room."
Bowing, the Fatuus briskly walks away and within seconds is gone through the still open door.
The Doctor motions for the woman to follow him and then they are retracing the other Fatuus' steps through the office and out into the chilly halls again. The tall man pauses briefly to pull the large iron slab closed. He produces a golden key from a pocket and quickly locks it, then whirls to the right before quickly striding off.
Y/N notices he never once looked back to see if she was following. The man simply knew she would. 'Cheeky bastard,' She thinks bitterly. Shivering slightly in the cold, she jogs off after him.

Mistakes to Avoid When Selling Your Omaha Business
Tumblr media
Selling a business is one of the most significant decisions an entrepreneur can make. It’s a process that requires careful planning, strategy, and a deep understanding of what’s at stake. When I decided to sell my Omaha business, I was eager to get the best deal and ensure a smooth transition. But as I learned throughout the process, there are numerous pitfalls that can derail a sale if you’re not careful. I wish I had known more about the common mistakes people make when selling, as avoiding them would have saved me time, stress, and possibly money. Here are some of the key mistakes I made—and ones I strongly encourage others to avoid.
1. Underestimating the Importance of Preparation
One of the biggest mistakes I made was not fully preparing my business for sale before listing it. I thought I could just put a price on it and wait for offers to come in. But selling a business requires much more than just setting a price tag. It’s essential to get your financials in order, streamline operations, and ensure that the business is running smoothly. I didn’t fully realize how much potential buyers would scrutinize every aspect of the company.
Getting everything in order—cleaning up the financial records, addressing any operational inefficiencies, and ensuring legal documents are in place—can make a massive difference in the perception of your business. I now know that thorough preparation can lead to a faster sale at a higher price. It’s worth taking the time to make the business look as attractive and efficient as possible to buyers.
2. Overpricing the Business
In the excitement of selling, I made the mistake of overpricing my business. It was easy to fall into the trap of valuing it based on my emotions, years of hard work, and personal attachment to it. But I quickly learned that the market dictates the price—not how I felt about my business. By setting an unrealistic asking price, I turned away potential buyers and wasted valuable time.
A proper business valuation from a professional broker can help you avoid this mistake. They can assess your company based on real data, including market trends, financial health, and comparable sales, to determine a fair price. Overpricing can make buyers wary and could even damage your reputation. A fair, well-researched price will attract serious buyers and improve your chances of closing a successful deal.
youtube
3. Failing to Consider the Tax Implications
Another major oversight on my part was not fully understanding the tax implications of selling my business. I was so focused on the sale itself that I didn’t consider how the proceeds would be taxed. After the sale, I was hit with a significant tax bill, which was a rude awakening.
It’s crucial to consult with an accountant or tax advisor before selling to understand how much of your sale will be taxed and how you can structure the deal to minimize taxes. This could involve things like asset allocation or setting up a deferred payment plan. Taking the time to understand these details upfront can save you from a financial headache down the road.
4. Not Having the Right Team of Experts
Selling a business is a complicated process, and having the right team of professionals is critical. I initially thought I could handle everything on my own, but I quickly realized I needed a team of experts—business brokers, accountants, and lawyers—to guide me through the process. These professionals can help you with everything from setting the right price to handling negotiations and drafting contracts.
Without their expertise, I would have made several costly mistakes, including undervaluing my business, missing out on tax-saving strategies, and not effectively negotiating with buyers. Don’t try to go it alone—having the right professionals in your corner can make all the difference.
5. Neglecting to Plan for the Transition
The final mistake I made was not fully planning for the transition after the sale. I didn’t realize that a smooth transition is crucial to maintaining the value of the business and ensuring the new owner’s success. Buyers want to know they can take over operations with minimal disruption.
I didn’t create a detailed transition plan, which led to some confusion and frustration after the sale. Buyers may want training, introductions to key contacts, or assistance with day-to-day operations during the transition. Failing to plan for this can result in a shaky handover and could even jeopardize the business’s continued success.
Conclusion
Selling my Omaha business was a long and, at times, challenging process, but I’ve learned a great deal from my mistakes. Preparation is key, and overpricing, neglecting tax considerations, or trying to handle the sale alone can all lead to costly problems. With the right approach, professionals, and planning, you can avoid these pitfalls and set your business up for a successful sale. If I had known what I know now, I would have approached the sale with more strategy and confidence, making the process smoother and more profitable.
