After calming down (yeah kinda still mad but not as clearly), here’s my post Austrian GP analysis (both sprint and race)
Haas are getting back slowly back in the right travk after a few missteps. In the sprint they were not great, but race, it’s a whole different story. Apparently the match last night did them gokd because Nico finishing 6th (!!!!) and Kevin finishing 10th after startung 9th and 12th. They’re getting back in the midfield game and we love it.
Alpine were not that great, but bkt that shit. Just okay and to be honest, their points this race was on pure merit and luck. But to stay in the contest, they need to focus and stop prioritising a driver on the other. We all know one is leaving NEXT year, but he’s still an Alpine driver for the 2024, and he still can and will score points.
VCARB are kind of a mixed situation. On one hand, Daniel qualified and raced really well this week but how will he do afterwards we don’t know , on the other , Yuki was a bit unluckywith quali and race but I have a feeling he’ll be back next week. Just hoping the car is there for him, because he deserves it so much.
Williams, now you can see when you give logan a proper set up and 2024 components with upgrades, he could do something. He has potential and again, your team’s legends will not be constantly supporting someone who doesn’t have potential. Give him a good set up and let’s hope for a Logan madterclass next week.
Ferrari just got lucky today, that’s all I can say. Their strategy with Charles after picking up damage was so bad, especially with the timings of the stops and I actually belive this cost him acorung points this week. As for Carlos, it was just luck on his side for this podium, but he didn’t do anything that was impressive or crazy.
Mercedes are improving and impressing me so much lately. Yes George’s win today was just pure luck. But this man has worked so hard, and has been doing his absolute best and deserves this win. And Lewis with his overtakes, keeping the head down in a car he’s finally confident in is something that is a joy to watch. Honestly Mercedes, good for you guys
Finally the last 2 teams that caused my mental health to be slumped in a fucking second.
First, the guys who were considerably normal, Oscar had a phenomenal race, and he was absolutely brilliant today, making up 5 places and ending on the podium fighting for the fight, man is a beast tbh and is a clean (in comparison and hindsight) racer. Checo had a phenomenal start, again in a car he’s not 100% happy with and with damage for 71 lap. Being able to pull this and drag a damaged car all this distance is absolutely impressive.
And now the obvious 2. Sprint wise, they noth had good sprints and hell, Lando pulled the move he attempted today cleanly and Max overtook on the next lap. As for today, Max was crazy good on hus first two stints. The speed, his driving, everything. But that last stint wasn’t great from its start, with a terrible pitstop (not going to set up hanging rope for the guys, the nut wasn’t budging and shit like this happens) to the used mediums and all. McLarern with Lando were not great in the first 2 stints, with the lack of apeed and grip, I mean he did get a clack and white flag and a part for that was in these stints, but then the last with the new mediums was pretty impressive. Though he was irrational in his moves, fatser car in that stint, and he has a black and whit flag, overtakes off track to get a 5 second penalty that was released late by the stewards, to pushing Max off the track to the accident. Now in the accident, both drivers were not faultless, but Lando did put his wing into Max’s tyres, and Max did loose a some grip and caused Lando some damage. But as Max said, he didn’t leave space for Lando to overtake because he knew Lando was going to tale him, even before knowing the penalty, and Max was defending to kind of prevent Lando from overtaking him (aka racing and fighting for the win). But even if Lando was wanted to overtake Max , he literally could have just waited mayve a lap or 2, maximum 3. We have a quote that says if the murderer waited for the murdered, the murdered would have died alone, which was the case for Lando on the fresher mediums. But what I think and ahies from his post race media statements is that Max should have just let him win, and since he didn’t, he decided after knowing he got the 5 seocnd penalty and his chances if basically winning almost nonexistent with Max, he was going to ruin Max’s race. Well it ruined both of theirs, and one ended up with points with the other dnfing and we don’t know if he served his penalty or will serve it in Silverstone as a three place grid penalty.
But yeah, Austria done and dusted, max and red bull gald extended (small wins) and Silverstone next. Hoping for a CLEAN good race for my boys especially. And a revenge against brits (both for today and the quotes that say Max and Red Bull are the reason ticket sales are low, not the crazy prices). Just upset because the orange army wasn’t able to be hally today, but I’m sure proud regardless
I will leave this in all its glory.

F1 2024 Predictions!
Red Bull: Obviously they’re going to continue to dominate. They have to get in their domination years before the 2026 regulations come by, so as far as 2024 and 2025 are concerned for me, Red Bull is going to aim to dominate and they will. The only thing I’d be interested in Red Bull in is whether or not Checo will have stable mental health to hold a smaller gap in points between him and Max, because what the hell happened after Monaco alsdkjfaklsdfj.
Ferrari: I am not a superstitious person usually, but if you have Scuderia in your name, your strategists are shit. AlphaTauri has this problem, and Ferrari is the same. At least Ferrari has a car that can get points (not great ones, but still points) whereas AT will be far away from the points. So hopefully 2024, the strategists gain more brain cells, otherwise, it’s just going to be a repeat of 2023.
Mercedes: The strategy is questionable at times, but what really needs to improve is the pit stop times. They’re doing better, but they NEED to get their heads out of their asses for that because that’s the real killer in my opinion.
Mclaren: My surprise prediction of 2024, is that Mclaren is going to be the team that will come close to lighting a fire under Red Bull. Or rather; Oscar, Lando, and Checo are going to be fighting for podium spots after Max fucks off ten seconds ahead of them (a gracious guess, it would’ve been 20 seconds but I decided to be nice). We all saw Mclaren’s miraculous technological growth this year, so assuming Mclaren doesn’t bring a tractor at the start of the season, I can very much see a Red Bull vs Mclaren fight.
Also we need a lando win. Please, he’s been suffering for too long
Aston Martin: I don’t follow AM, so if anyone wants to bring additional info, I’ll be grateful, but I feel like they’ll bring the fight to P3 in the constructor’s championship against Ferrari and Mercedes. They seem to have decent strategy and pit stops, it’s just that the car is average with two good drivers. Maybe they should hope for more rainy races and Lance works his driving-in-the-rain magic.
THE MIDFIELD:
I predict that it’s going to be an Alpine-Williams-AlphaTauri/Racing Balls fight.
Alpine: if the Frenchpine civil war doesn’t fuck them up more, because Pierre really showed what he was made of. I can’t really estimate how good they are against each other because Esteban has had 6 DNFs total, 4 being mechanical failures, 2 retirements because of collision from other people running into him, and I’m not counting all the times Esteban has run into other people but no DNF because I’m not combing through every race lol. I think they’re equal, it’s just that Esteban’s car was plagued with mechanical problems and Esteban regularly finds himself in weird situations where he’s getting bonked into or he’s bonking into someone else. Alpine is going to be fighting themselves and the rest of the midfield lol.
Williams: Alex is definitely going to head that king of the midfield fight for Williams while Logan will quietly improve and hopefully get points.
AlphaTauri: Daniel and Yūki are probably the best driver pairing AlphaTauri could ask for. Daniel’s experience and Yūki approaching his fourth year on the team means they have to be fighting for consistent points now from both of them, and that’s only if AT doesn’t give them a tractor to drive. Also, before anyone who didn’t pay attention to Yūki’s growth this year, you missed out. The two major times I can say that Yūki costed himself points was Singapore - I definitely think he turned too early in that first lap and doing it next to Checo of all drivers - and Mexico, where he turned on the outside and bumped into Oscar and spinning himself off the track. But most importantly, even though Yūki couldn’t crawl back into the points in time, he LEARNED, and in Brazil, he applied that when he didn’t do the same error when he and Lewis were fighting.
Sauber: Hopefully with the shedding of AlfaRomeo, they’ll bounce back. But they’re my flop prediction.
Haas: This team flopping is a given. I will be pleasantly surprised if they pull a Mclaren and miraculously be consistently pulling themselves into P9/P10 every race.

I don’t know, this whole team orders discourse is a bit frustrating.
I think Max has his reasons (which he’s entitled to) and he clearly communicated that with the team from what he said on the radio. Checo asked for team orders on Saturday as well. That’s two races where Checo felt entitled to a position from Max. On Sunday morning Christian Horner blatantly said that there will be no team orders in Brazil. As far as we know that is the last team discussion that they had, no team orders in Brazil.
The truth is, even with team orders yesterday Checo still wouldn’t have secured the 2nd place in the championship. So would Max be expected to follow team orders AGAIN in Abu Dhabi? Because I fail to see how it’s fair for a driver who fought his way through the field after a crash that even his critics don’t feel is his fault, then had two 10s pit stops, and still managed to catch his teammate, should be punished?? Max was faster than Perez with damage. There is absolutely no reason why he should’ve caught up. Yes the safety car helped, but Max still had like three cars to overtake before he got to Perez with 10 laps to go. He managed to do that. He built a 4s gap to Checo in 4 laps, why would he slow down? Especially within Alonso’s drs. Vettel had two intense battles to the finish line, why would they expect Max to not fight to the end?
So if Max listened yesterday, he would’ve had to listen next week as well. Sacrifice a second race for Checo.
Checo absolutely helped Max, but through strategy. Red Bull used their second car to hold off Hamilton last year and Ferrari this year. Max just about took the constructors championship on his own this year. He has 100 points less than Ferrari in the constructors. Checo did his jobz Checo capitalized off of Max’s shit luck in Monaco and Singapore.
The only team orders at Red Bull this year has been “no fighting” specifically in Spain. Max had a broken drs and he was still faster, if I remember correctly the pace difference was over half a second a lap. He also pulled a gap of 11s on Checo in case anyone thinks that was unfair.
Max does not owe it to Checo to get him second place in the championship. The team game has been won. Checo is in an individual game at the moment. He could’ve bought good will sure, but it’s clear that there was a falling out before the race. Checo unfollowed him. Checo participated in mocking Max publicly in Vegas. I fail to see why Max would do him a favour.
Checo is the one that went to the media, Max did not bad mouth him once. Said he understood why Checo was upset. But he ultimately has his reason. If this was about Monaco and what is being said is true and Checo cheated, he should be disqualified from the race and his victory taken away. Red Bull literally cannot handle another scandal.
And just a reminder, Red Bull was clear in their intentions of having Checo as a second driver. They are the clearest 1-2 driver pairing on the grid. Red Bull is famous for having separation between drivers. Checo’s career is dependent on Max not the other way around. If Checo stops complimenting Max on track and they start taking each other out and taking points away from the team, Checo will be the one that takes the loss.
Max is not to blame for Checo not having wrapped up the second position in the championship. Max capitalized on the issues Ferrari had during the season. Checo was in a dominant car for the entire season. A car that suited him more in the beginning. It’s not up to Max if he didn’t capitalize on it
It’ll be interesting to see what happens in Abu Dhabi. I hope we don’t see team orders in the future.
The one thing I’ll always find funny about the whole Brazil situation was like you said Checo feeling entitled for Max to give up his position.
Like I’m sorry but if my teammate who was crashed out, went to the back twice and pulled 4 seconds on me I’d want the ground to swallow me up from embarrassment…like Max was dealing with car damage and was always going to pass Checo with or without team orders. If Checo wanted his place back then he should have kept up with Max it’s literally that simple.
Like everyone seems to have an issue with Red Bull having a number 1 and number 2 but that’s how they work. They don’t want internal shit like Merc had with Nico and Lewis. They have made it clear that Max is their number 1 and Max had made it clear that he is number 1 driver material. Checo should remember that Red Bull are the reason he’s still on the grid…like you said Max didn’t owe Checo anything and still doesn’t. Checo isn’t even in the top 4 drivers on the grid let alone anywhere near challenging Max.
And I do have to say I agree with the Vegas comment…Checo knew what he was doing giggling with Lewis and George about Maxs boycotting sky sports it was unnecessary as fuck.

you're the only person i've seen to share my feelings about l*ndo and it's refreshing lmao. please someone name me one (1) redeemable quality. i have TRIED. i have tried so hard. i've watched so many videos in my attempts and all of them??? he's the most unlikable person!!!
i’m here to slander lando at any time babes ✌️so much slander under the cut bc i’ve always felt bad coming for him but you’ve made me feel like i have an audience 🥰
i’ve heard people say that he grew on them bc of his friendship with max but i genuinely don’t know how bc he’s literally that friend that says bitchy shitty things behind your back and to your face and then says “but we’re friends haha i don’t mean it in a bad way” but it’s like dude, it was still bitchy and shitty (sorry but he’s not funny over streams with max, he’s just rude and if one of my friends talked to me like that, i wouldn’t think they respected me, and max is truly a gift for giving him the benefit of the doubt)
he’s only recently started to enjoy daniels presence (a crime, daniels presence is a gift) but before that,, again talking shit!!!! documented by reporters and fucking netflix!!! and also many many instances of daniel just being himself and lando looking at him as if he’d grown not just a second but a third head,,, like dude,, grow the fuck up and realize that being open and genuine and having fun in casual scenarios does not mean that a person is unprofessional when it comes to their actual job
also!! whenever anyone calls lando a generational talent i have to laugh because i simply do not see it,, future world champion?? WHERE?? boy can’t even win a race (sochi 2021 my beloved i hope lando dreams about you always)
like, a generational talent is max or charles, proven to be able to go the distance under the intense pressure and actually win — lando? not a chance,, fumbled the call for switching to inters and literally threw away a win, showing a distinct lack of maturity, skill, talent, and racecraft needed to win races and furthermore become a wdc one day
the 2022 season? sure he’s outperforming daniel (who has had damage on his car for the bulk of his races this season and has had bad strategy calls for not only the rest but also some of the ones where he had damage — so you know, not fucking hard) but he’s only outperforming him in qualifying — his race pace has been about equal to daniel’s if not worse a lot of times
because mostly his performance this season has been riding 20 to 40 seconds behind the car in front and “running a lonely race” and losing time every single lap,,, tell me where this generational talent that is outperforming the car is? because the difference between lando and daniel this season is that lando gets pitted into open air where he can fall behind like that, and daniel gets pitted into traffic and he gets overtaken BECAUSE THE CAR IS A TRACTOR
but it looks like lando is doing significantly better bc of his finishing position,, when in reality, if he got pitted and released where daniel was? he wouldn’t have done any better and we all fucking know it
but ALSO where are his impressive overtakes? not just from this season but from his entire career? could lando norris HAVE a highlight reel? the only thing i can think of is his mess with checo last season in portugal when they were trading penalties but i wouldn’t call that a highlight,, the five car scrap from this season? you look back at it,,, lando doesn’t actually do anything significant so wouldn’t count that
like what is impressive about his racecraft?? what!!
like in comparison, off the top of my head, daniels triple overtake in baku in 2017, his double overtake on the alpines in hungary 2022, holding seb off in monaco 2018 with half an engine,,, highlights
also, this is just my own personal WILD speculation based on what we know about their character and their tendency to whine over the radio, but joe ricciardo made daniel start out in a secondhand kart even though he could afford a new one to teach daniel about hard work and the value of things and daniel loved it anyway; you know that if lando ever had to start in a secondhand kart he’d have shit himself over the unfairness of it all
also i stand by what i said about him being just some guy with a big head bc he’s not even that cute AND people losing their minds over those pics/gifs of him bc his hair was curling a certain way,,, y’all fucking dm me for pics or whatever bc he is literally not special, when i had my hair shorter it curled that exact same way,, people really just need to spend time with curly haired people MY GOD

I know its been a day, but I wasn’t able to watch the race fully yesterday, and this is my take on what I saw
Firstly, VCARB. The cars just wasn’t there this weekend, and we can’t lie, their quali and the fact that they kind of got stuck all throughout the race cost them, and being stuck behind someone in a track like Circuit de Catalunya, which teams go for 2-3 stops in because tyres are dead, and with dirty air. Yeah it just wasn’t it for these guys. But hopefully next seek they are able to be back, because they do have the speed, and they could go far in terms if points this tear.
Williams just aren’t on the right foot all year. And this race was no exception, poor quali, slowest car. You can’t expect your drivers to compete if you don’t give them the tools. 2023 parts in the 2024 car for a driver and the other that had the 2024 parts still is p18. Yeah, they need to get their shit together and stop blaming Logan for not getting points when nit providing him with the Machine and an equal opportunity as his team mate, who isn’t also performing.
Aston Martin was in the wring foot this week. The car isn’t bad, but they still need to wirk hard. A team like them is “supposedly” a top 5 team in the constructors. That’s what they gave us last year. But they need to work on their car because it just is not adding up.
Alpine, double points for the second week running is VERY impressive and important because of their tractor at the beginning of the season. They seemed to have put the work and it’s starting to show. But in order for it to be a fair comparison, give both your drivers the lighter chassis, not just one while leaving the other with the overweight one, and expect hin to perform greatly. It just doesn’t make much sense tbh.
Ferrari are way better than Canada, that’s for sure. Getting back up after a hard blow is not something easy, but they were not too bad all weekend, but they were also not that good. Charles and Carlos having an incident, then Carlos and Lewis. Carlos is getting frustrated for sure, but he needs to get his head in the game, because these silly mistakes could coat him , Charles and Ferrari points, like it did in Canada. But nonetheless, their strategy was not on point , with pitting Charles quite late, almost same time as Lando, it cost him a fight fir forth or even third place.
Second race in a row, second Mercedes podium. Tbh, these upgrades have given both George and Lewis so much confidence in their cars, with the lead that George stole fron Lando, to both being able to keep Lando, in the fastest car of the race behind them a couple of laps, to their calls. They are on the right trajectory and it’s something we don’t hate to see.
McLaren are getting cocky. And don’t get me wring, I’m impressed with their progress in one year, but they’re getting too cocky for their own good. Oscar did a phenomenal race from starting in p9 to ending p7, overtaking and a right strategy, but he’s in the fastest car, and couldn’t get past the Ferraris who were on a considerably “wrong foot” since Canada. Meanwhile Landi started on pole, by the end of lap 1, lost 2 positions, tried to overtake and got stuck in dirty air, and when his engineer asked him , he said fight for the win, which I respect, but fucked his strategy with the time he pitted and then being stuck unable to regain first. Let’s be real. McLaren have no one to blame for this race but themselves, because they were the fastest all weekend and have been for a while, yet they didn’t win. And Zak Brown should definitely eat his words that if you put someone other than Max in the fastest car, they’d win, and no one is faster than Lando, well guess what. Lando had the fastest car, and has had it since Miami, yet won only one race, why is that Zak. Eat. Your. Words.
Lastly Red Bull. Are they making progress, yes for sure and that could be evident on Checo, who is regaining more confidence after 2 horrible races for him in a row. Starting P11, regaining and ending p8 (granted not the best result, but points finish nonetheless) and be wasn’t 100% happy with the car. And saying he’ll continue to fight, I’m sure he will, and Checo will return to the podium very soon, especially because his strategy wasn’t the best and the penalty cost him a bit, but he’s regaining that confidence and that’s what we like. Then we have the one who literally destroyed the dreams of those around him. You can’t tell me that that race wasn’t all Max, because it was. The overtake on George that was as it was written in the book. To being able to communicate effectively with GP. To the strategy that had Max lead into lap 2. To then win the race in the second fastest car, snatching the win from the fastest. Yeah he’s unbelievable, but the team need to wake up, and provide him with upgrades that would enable them both (Max and Checo) to be more confident and less concerned with how their cars will perform (upgrades please red bull thank you)
Well, this is my race analysis for 1/3 of the upcoming triple header. And I want to end it on something I read about Max. Because HE is what makes the difference, not the car
It said something like there are great drivers in fats cars then there is the fastest driver in a great car. And I guess this sums up the Spanish GP top 2 in a nutshell
BRING ON AUSTRIA (May we listen to the Austrian and Dutch anthems tomorrow and enjoy it, and hopefully more on Sunday)
As I didn’t get the chance to watch much of anything this past weekend, this analysis is golden. Thank you so much for sharing once again, I truly enjoy reading your post-race analyses. ❤️
Honestly, people who still believe Max's success is only because of the car and not that man's raw, once-in-a-generation talent, they haven’t been watching the races. Or they have, but they're simply too blinded by jealousy and/or their dislike towards Max to see him for the exceptional driver he is. And those people are simply not worth your time or energy.
Let’s fucking go Lestappen holy temple!

Am I still shaking? Yes. Is this my dream podium? Also yes. But here’s my post race analysis since it’s Half time in the Premier League and I’m still nervous (this time for Arsenal)
Aston Martin is in a mixed state. At one hand, Alonso’s crash cost him, and the team the race, but on the other, Lance did do everything he could to finish in the points. And it was such a solid performance from both, but due to Nando’s pit start, he wasn’t able to get them points
Mercedes are starting to look better. Is it a major jump? No, but they were both able to overtake, and slowly getting there
Haas are a midfield team we have to consider no matter what. Nico with an EPIC drive, just shirt if points and Kevin making up places, to end right behind Nico. They needed that change and it’s impacting them positively.
VCARB, also a team that needs to be on the radars. They are good, pit stops are so good consistently, with the stops not exceeding 3 seconds like their competitors. Multiple solid performance and almost consistent points scored. They are on the climb, and it’s honestly something that makes me personally very happy. Also Yuki Goat
Williams, the team and the car is so shit, pits today were so bad. THEY NEED TO ASSESS THEMSELVES BEFORE CRITICISING THE DRIVERS. Alex having to retire and Logan doing his damn best in an overweight, not upgraded car. Yeah they need a wake up call.
Ferrari, the upgrades are quick, and that’s something that we can all agree on. Carlos was okay, but Charles drove his heart out today. Keeping Oscar behind him and putting pressure on Lando, it’s something that we all have to acknowledge and respect. And give Ferrari the credit with the car they built.
McLaren are showing teeth, Oscar with the full upgrades, Lando on that high. This team will be in contention for the top 3, and as we saw today, strategy, track layout and having the car that can put pressure on RedBull. (Those laps will haunt me)
Finally Red Bull. Checo, as a start, did rewlly well considering the set up that idk what was up, but it is what it is, and his starting position, especially since the track doesn’t have much overtaking zones. From P11 to P8. That’s good, but not enough for Red Bull standards. And he needs to wake up not to lose his seat. As for our Number One. Firstly, he’s number one for a reason and A DAMN GOOD ONE. The car wasn’t the fastest all weekend, with Friday the car being a full blown shit show. Saturday the set up being good, but nit testing the hards and getting pole when not even expected, and finally today, driving his actual heart out, and with his experience, keeping Lando behind him for 5 laps with less than 1.5 seconds gap, and then not having any type of tiny mistake when he knew it would cost him, he’s the best for that reason, and that’s why he and GP are considered the best engineer-driver duo on the grid rn, because they know how to communicate and how to win, even if the car wasn’t the fastest. Also, giving credit where credit is due to Sebastian Buemi and Jake Dennis, who have both stayed 11+ hours both in the sim back at base to work on and perfect the set up. This victory couldn’t have been possible if not for them.
So yeah, Imola done and dusted, probably one of the best races I’ve ever seen, but also one of the most nerve racking ones. I’m still shaking from Lando Max battle, though I enjoyed it. We got our Lestappen Podium. And tbh it was my personal dream podium. And hope you enjoy Jurgen’s last game, I know it’s an emotional one to say the least❤️
Wonderful analysis as always, my darling! And as always, I don't have much to add so I'll just leave most of this in all its glory.
The only thing I will say is that I wasn't really worried about Max and Lando. Had the race been longer, yes, I definitely would have been. But as it was? I didn't worry about Lando overtaking Max at all. But it was such a fun race even so, and I'm always happy with a Lestappen podium in addition to a Max win!
To be perfectly honest, I have been a mess since before kickoff and I'm still struggling to properly wrap my head around the Klopp era having come to an end. But what a beautiful, emotional send-off he got. (Virg and Trent crying at full-time shattered my fucking heart.) I can't wait to see what Arne Slot will bring, and I'm undeniably excited about the future. But right now I'm just sad and empty that Jürgen won't be there next season.
I'm really sorry Arsenal didn't manage to get the Premier League title in the end. I would have much preferred seeing them win it instead of City. ❤️
