The condemned willingly serve the gods out of their own sense of guilt, but have they considered that the gods may be unable to bring them the consolation they long for…?
𝐂𝐗𝐗𝐕. Sligthly related to the previous post, but even if it's all jokes and laughs, I like the idea that one of the reasons why Dain says this referring to Furina isn't simply to throw shade at her, but because he might be aware that even gods need consolation. So in some way it boils down to "if not even gods can't help themselves, how can they humans?".
#◟༺✧༻◞ events to be remembered in blue veins ┊addendum.┊#I know it's quite popular in the fandom#to have Dain as this god hater#because of what happened in Khaenri'ah#some might even think this even more when Dain criticizes them#but to be fair the things he's been pointing out about#the archons thus far#are what /they/ did or cause with their own hands#and of course they're subjected to criticism#like Ei's ways which could've done definitely better but they haven't#greatly because of her own grievances and sorrow of the past#Zhongli didn't do it in the best way either even if his intention was good#not even Nahida would be free from his criticism if she did something wrong#which she didn't for now so he doesn't throw shade at her#and as much as I don't like Furina#she doesn't look the most self-confident out there#and she'll probably have some tragic background#that makes her act the way she currently does#so I really like Dain having these takes#because it's sensible of him to think#that if gods are subjected to certain grievances like humans#it would be hard for them to give humans consolation#when they're in need of it as well and can't help themselves
