I was tagged by @trickerys-domain to make my OCs this picrew!! Thank you for tagging me, I've honestly been looking for a new OC creator for a while and this one is great!
Merinda Aeducan (she/they): She did their best to embody everything that made a dwarf honorable; strength, cunning, loyalty. She was kind to a fault but made sure no one saw that as a weakness. A powerful duelist that always saw herself walking the path of a general for their family. She never imagined becoming a warden but jumped at the chance since it was the only way they would be able to continue fighting. She fell for Alastair quickly because of their shared humor. She made fast friends with most of the companions... Leliana the sister she never had, Wynn the mother they lost long ago, Alastair the love she thought never to be found again. (she was in love with Gorim) When Merinda learned of the true nature of killing the arch-dragon she was just angry, angry and rescinded. When Morrigan returned with her solution they almost didn't ask Alistair but in the end no one had to die.
Tahoe Hawke (he/him): A mage who only ever wished to protect his family. In the beginning I played Tahoe much more blue, a paragon that tried to save everyone he could. The more he failed at that task however, the more purple he became. He liked Isabela but only truly ever had eyes for Fenris. Their relationship was not all sunshine and rainbows however, if Fenris said something hurtful about mages, Tahoe would openly flirt with Isabela. Eventually they figured their romance out but the more Fenris healed the more Tahoe broke. *trigger warning* His sacrifice in the Fade was just a thinly veiled suicide... Varric knew it, Fenris knew it.
Eirwen Lavellan (she/her): Once a hunter for her clan but always a ranger at heart. Eirwen wore the vallaslin of Gilan'nain because of her hope to one day become the clan's Halla keeper like her grandfather. She loved to explore the forest and like many of her clan she was fast to tolerate humans. She took it one step farther however, she befriended some of the human hunter's that shared the same woods as her clan. It was because of her open heart that the Keeper sent Eirwen to the conclave. Becoming the Inquisitor was hard but somehow through all of it Eirwen enjoyed it, she enjoyed learning about the world, seeing forgotten ruins, making friends in all corners of the nations... strange as it sounds maybe that's why she found it so easy to let go of. For now Eirwen is content living out the rest of her years with her Cully-Wully, helping him with his Templar Sanctuary. Spending nights listing to Dorian complain about magisters or pretending to complain about the last surprise Bull sent him. And on very rare nights she sneaks off in her old armor with a crossbow hidden under her cloak.
No pressure tag to @afamoore, @dovahbee, and anyone else who wants to! (doesn't even have to be dragon age)

Tag Game: Make your OCs with this picrew!
Thank you for the tags, @charmedcleric and @reading-non-stop! I love these and loved reading about your OCs 🥰
I have to admit I have not done a DAO or DA2 playthrough yet… but I am working on 3 simultaneous playthroughs of DAI with 3 different inquisitors, if that counts! These will be the ones I bring to my future Veilguard playthroughs.
Tumblr media
Ghilan’Vhenaste Lavellan - if I did Elvhen right, his name means “guiding our people’s favor,” which I thought was fitting for what I have planned for him. But you can just call him Ghil! He was heavily inspired by Ameridan, the quote: "history doesn't repeat, but it does rhyme," and my need to romance Cassandra. He's a history nerd, and lucked out on being his clan's First.
As the story progresses, he's realizing that both the Dalish and the Chantry got some things very wrong, both about the world and each other. He believes that if he can find the real truth, he can use it to foster peace and understanding between humans, elves, and other races. He's very open-minded, and honestly comes around to believing he really could be the Herald of Andraste, and maybe the Maker as the Chantry knows it does exist. Perhaps the truth of world is found between both sides. He just wants to find answers, and to help, in that order.
Personality-wise he is open-minded and laid-back, but can't resist an awful joke or pun just to make Cass grumble. He's becoming a Knight Enchanter as it perfectly ties together his Dalish roots with his burgeoning Andrastrian faith.
Tumblr media
Ede'Emal Lavellan - My fiery, angry girl. And again, if I did Elvhen correctly, stands for "Emerald Child." She is also a Knight Enchanter mage, but I'm doing it a little differently on this one. Originally she was created to be my Solasmancer, which was inspired by how the Emerald Knights had wolf companions. And there is no specialization close to Emerald Knight, but Knight Enchanter does have roots with Arcane Warrior, so that's where I went. She also has the Blade of Tidarion, because magic sword and it sounds Emerald Knight-y to me.
Unlike Ghil, Ede is very proudly Dalish and honestly has a chip on her shoulder about it. She took being her clan's First very seriously, and holds dearly her Dalish identity. She is always expecting the shem to treat her poorly, and is often surprised when that doesn't happen. She's kind and compassionate, but she's not nice about it. She's slow to trust humans and quick to put down the Chantry at any opportunity. She really, really did not want to be Inquisitor and hates even more being the new symbol of Andrastrian faith.
She is romancing Solas, but it's going to be a very, very slow burn. She did not take kindly to his view on the Dalish, nor did he take kindly to her stubbornness with her "incorrect" beliefs. Despite their disagreements, and her cracking his egghead after a very heated argument, she's learning to cool her temper and play nice and open her heart (and mind) to learning something new.
Tumblr media
Cirice Trevelyan - yes, her name was inspired by The Ghost song. She is my Devout Andrastian warrior, who is just trying her best to serve the Chantry. She believes she was chosen to be Andraste's Herald, and wants to serve the purpose she was called to do. But, she isn't quite sure how to rectify it when the Chantry is in direct conflict with the Inquisition.
Honestly she is still in development, so I don't have as much to say about her. She is a very serious, contemplative personality who just wants to do what she thinks is right, by the Chantry's standards. She hopes that she was chosen to help spread the Chant and bring the Maker back to his creations. Unfortunately, this will lead her to make some very hard, and sometimes very harsh, decisions. She is doing her best, but my poor girl was made to suffer for it.

What are your da world states like? I love hearing about what other people have done!
I'm going to put this under a read more because it's a lot. I love to ramble and you have opened a can of worms.
I have one world state finished and a second one that I'm currently working on (Just got to Skyhold in DAI). I won't lie, world states A and B are pretty similar in choices. I've planned ahead for 7 total though, and the other ones branch out a lot more with different decision.
My first full play through I didn't save as a world state. I also do have a video game blog if anyone is interested @everyonebl00ms . It's mostly just me reblogging stuff but I do occasionally talk about my own play throughs and OCs and fan fic and such.
Tumblr media
I am resisting the urge to list out every single decision I made for each world state so I will just give you some of the more major things.
Lila convinced Alistair to do the dark ritual and they remained Wardens together. Alistair killed Loghain in a duel. All her companions were alive and well at the end of the game.
Elena supported mages every chance she got. She brought Carver into the deep roads and he became a Warden. She killed the Arishok in a duel. She romanced Anders and supported his decision wholeheartedly, so obviously she sided with the mages at the end.
Katari (pls look at her. she's so hot.) allied with the mages. She reconciled Briala and Celene, left Hakwe in the fade, did not exile the wardens, let Morrigan drink from the well, and Leliana became divine. She romanced Blackwall and when she freed him from prison she promised him to the Wardens. In Trespasser she disbands the Inquisition and vows to stop Solas no matter what.
Tumblr media
World State B is very, very similar. what can I say, I like what I like.
Darvas romanced Morrigan but he refused to do the dark ritual. Alistair ended up dying killing the archdemon. Darvas executed Loghain. All companions besides Alistair lived to see the end of the game.
Moira Hawke romanced Isabela. She supported mages whenever she could. Bethany stayed home from the deep roads and became a circle mage. She killed the Arishok in a duel. She understood and could have even supported Anders actions at the chantry. However, by involving Moira in this he put Bethany in danger. She killed him in hopes that it would help protect Bethany.
And Elgaris Lavellan is who I'm playing as right now. She's allied with the mages. She will be romancing Solas and drinking from the well of sorrows. She's going to leave Stroud in the fade and won't be exiling the wardens. I can't make up my mind what her decision will be regarding Orlais' ruler. Either Briala ruling through Gaspard or maybe the public truce? Also she will be redeeming Solas bc she luvs him xoxo

Was thinking that anders would really not like my inquisitor, so now you get a rambling essay about my ocs and the companions.
Warden Aeducan is kind of violent minded, but having real friends to help her unlearn the orzanmar mindset has helped. She's pragmatic and a bit ruthless. Couldn't care less about magic and "all that flutter". she'd probably get along best with fenris, Merrill, the iron bull, Cullen, Cassandra. Top friends in origins were Alistair, lelianna, and sten. Vivienne and Solas would probably hate her to no end. No real opinions on hawke or lavellan.
Hawke is diplomatic and very pro mage. Doesn't really understand blood magic, so ends up supporting it more often than he should. Constantly joking with friends. Respects warden aeducan, would be cautious of lavellan, but warm up to him fast. Would probably butt heads with wynne and Vivienne, besties with Alistair, lelianna, Cole, maybe Solas.
Inquisitor lavellan is my problem child. I love him. He's a dalish mage. He's peaceful and loves helping everyone he can, almost to a fault. He's about 19 at the start of inquisition, so he's really just new to the world. Is anti Templar but pro circle. Thinks it's the best idea for mages and those around them, though if he knew anything about say the kirkwall circle he would very much change that opinion. Embraces his leader role and tries to do good for the world. Anders and Morrigan would probably really not like him at first, but after a while not so much. Would be besties with wynne, lelianna, and Merrill (at least).

I was tagged by @contrivedcoincidences6 to make my OCs with this picrew! Thank you so much for the tag! I love doing these 💕
Here are my girls!!
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Florence Surana: After being sent to the circle florence became shy and reserved so she’s my girl that’s basically just trying to find herself again. She’s an arcane warrior / blood mage. She tends to push herself quite hard during combat especially after becoming warden-commander, she’s under a lot of pressure and feels like she needs to work really hard to earn respect from others. Sometimes she has to be carried back to the keep (it’s always Nathaniel that offers as he’s very much in love with her he just doesn’t know it yet lol) as she’s far too tired to walk.
Marian Hawke: Purple Hawke who has a lot of trauma and hides behind humour to cope. She’s an assassin/shadow rogue. Marian has been through so much but always tries to stay positive.
Maeve Lavellan: Maeve is my sweet baby who’s kinda insane (in combat anyways). She’s an assassin rogue and is a master at stealth. Maeve was the main hunter for the clan but always wanted to do something more. She tends to let things bother her (only those close to her can tell though, to others she looks calm and collected), thankfully she has her companions who she considers family to talk too.
Tagging (no pressure of course): @reading-non-stop @sweetjulieapples @anew-flame @willowbank

Dead Pasts and Dread Futures — a Dragon Age Longfic
If you're interested in my OC, Ixchel Lavellan, but may not end up reading all 600,000 words of her longfic—this is for you!
Below:
▸ TOO LONG, DIDN'T READ? - a 5 paragraph summary of her whole story, up to The Brave Guide. ▸ DETAILED OVERVIEW - Ixchel's first life in its entirety, and the events of Dead Pasts and Dread Futures. ▸ Dead Pasts and Dread Futures Breakdown - Key events in Dead Pasts and Dread Futures, leading up to the sequel, The Brave Guide.
Tumblr media
TOO LONG, DIDN'T READ?
For those who just want an overview.
Ixchel Lavellan is the Inquisitor and main protagonist of my resurrection/time-travel/fix-it fanfiction series. Her story is #hopepunk and deals with her upward journey finding hope for herself & for the people around her. She starts at rock bottom. She was an orphan who appeared too human, or too elfy, to be accepted by either group. But eventually she was adopted by Clan Lavellan. Her previous experiences with rejection made her doubt their acceptance, so she volunteered to go to the Conclave. She first became Inquisitor as a clueless teenager and fucked up a lot. She had no romance arc, but she loved all of her friends dearly. Her entire life became the Inquisition, and when it ended she had nothing left. She died by suicide a few years after Trespasser when she’s ~ 25-27ish. Dorian ((and Solas)) used the power available after the Veil fell to return her back in time to the Conclave to do it all over again. Though at times she believes it is futile, she tries to convince Solas to abandon the din'an'shiral. She struggles with hope herself, yet she tries to make those around her more hopeful. In the end, Solas does choose a different path—one that does not lead to death, but to hope. The fic "ends" after Ixchel achieves a solid foundation for herself emotionally, and for Solas. She is now ready to grapple with other questions: about power, about race, about legacy. But that is a story that is told in the next fic: The Brave Guide.
Tumblr media
Detailed Overview
For those who want a slightly longer (but still much abbreviated) play-by-play.
Early Life
A nameless orphan grew up fending for herself and sheltering in ruins in Ferelden prior to the Fifth Blight. No Dalish Clans she encountered took her in, either because of her not-fully-elven appearance (unlikely) or because times were tight and dangerous due to the encroaching Blight (more likely). She believed it to be due to her not being fully Elven and developed a complex about wanting to belong. She stowed away on a boat to the Free Marches and ended up wandering the countryside. After the Archdemon’s defeat she returned to Ferelden, and in a ruin there she discovered a word she’d found written on a wall: IX CHEL. She encountered a mysterious traveler (Halevune Mahariel, HOF), who translated the inscrutable runes into "Ixchel," and she thought it was pretty so she took it as her name.
She eventually did return to the countryside outside of Markham calling herself by this new name. In 9:37 Dragon, a particularly harsh winter drove the Lavellan Clan to seek out the orphan and took her in to teach her to hunt and fend for herself better. She remained with the clan for a short time but wanted to “prove” herself, so she volunteered to go to the Conclave as a spy, due to her ability to pass as a human and travel unnoticed. She was roughly sixteen years old.
Some traits inherent to her upbringing are: she has a nearly photographic memory and can memorize things pretty well be repeating things to herself, which is how she would “learn” things from ruins growing up; she has no terrible fear of demons—no more so than bears, for demons are predictable creatures of habit and will eventually give up chasing; Darkspawn have always terrified her.
First Inquisition
She is pulled in many directions by her advisors and companions and tried to please everyone, but that always meant someone disapproved of her choices. She slowly developed her own moral code mostly through saying “oh, shit, I actually hate how I feel after making that decision.” Her advisers were pissed at her when she formed an equal alliances with the Free Mages. So when she had to choose for the Wardens, she conscripted them. Which pissed everyone off because they wanted her to exile them. And so on.
She tried the make the Inquisition welcome to everyone and thus decorated and incorporated aspects of many different cultures in it, but she worried that she just ended up making everyone feel uncomfortable, and it had the unfortunate side effect of highlighting that she didn’t really feel like she belonged to any group. She butted heads with Sera a LOT in these regards, due to Sera’s scorn for how much Ixchel desperately wanted to be “an elfy elf.”
Her first Inquisition lasted a very long time—many years, in fact—as she criss-crossed Thedas and fumbled so much and tried to figure out who and what Corypheus was.
Solas
By the time Corypheus is defeated, Ixchel comes to think of the Inquisition as her family—a family that no longer needs an Inquisitor. Her closest friends were Dorian, Solas, and Cassandra. Dorian as an older brother/best friend, Cassandra as a sister/stern tutor, and Solas as a mentor and nurturing figure. She was endlessly curious, good-hearted, and quick to learn. Solas saw a lot of himself in her desire to do good… and the constant mistakes she made. He afforded her the forgiveness and support that he never offers himself. She had no biases of the Chantry or Dalish upbringings and absorbed everything he had to teach her about history, war, politics, elves, spirits, dragons, you name it. But part of this curiosity and openness meant that Ixchel picked up on certain inconsistencies and evasions, and she became somewhat suspicious about his origins. After the encounter at the Temple of Mythal, she figured out not only that he was an Ancient Elf… but that he was Fen'Harel himself. He admitted as much but did not fully explain his history, his role in it, or his agenda. They grew even closer as friends and she asked him ever more questions about the past. But Ixchel did not end up adopting his philosophies and in the end the student would surpass the teacher in many ways. For as many ways as they differed in opinion… in other ways, she was shaped very much by him and Dorian’s insecurities and flaws of Pride and fatalism.
Gaining Her Vallaslin
She lost her Clan during this time and definitely blames her advisors in part. With her clan’s death, her self esteem took a massive hit and she didn’t think she deserved to be welcomed as an elf because she thought she hadn’t done enough for them. She had learned about Celene’s burning of Halamshiral after she saved Celene’s life. Sera was constantly mocking her. And her advisers were constantly exasperated at her. After a very hard-won “victory” at Adamant, Ixchel had a bit of a spiral. Solas and Dorian and Cassandra picked her back up out of it and started building her up as her own person, growing from her mistakes, and finding worth in herself. She completed Jaws of Hakkon during this time. When she discovered Ameridan’s identity she of course wanted to bring that information to the Dalish. She ended up taking it personally to the clan on the Exalted Plains lead by Keeper Hawen. He had originally called her a “flat ear” and a “shem” but then she went OUT of her way to help them, and then this: she brought not only the news that the first Inquisitor, Ameridan, was Dalish and a mage—but also presented the Clan with the Sulevin Blade—and gave them the original copy of the Tale of Red Crossing found in Din'an Hanin. For this effort, Hawen—who had already started to see her as “a Dalish elf standing for all Thedas”—offered her the vallaslin of Dirthamen, the Secret Keeper. She was to take this honor as “a lore-seeker, secret-keeper, and finder-of-kin.” Solas took her aside at this point and told her the truth about the vallaslin. She had her first real fight with him about it and insisted she would take the vallaslin because of what it represented to her and to the modern elves. He ends up telling her that he respects her decision and admires her but she feels like there’s a hollowness to it.
Post-Corypheus
Ixchel’s entire personhood was built around the Inquisition. Her first and only real taste of family, of home, came with it. And after Corypheus’s defeat, her found family began to drift away. Solas left first, of course, without saying goodbye. Cassandra became Divine. Leliana was often busy helping Cassandra. Dorian went back to Tevinter. Thom began his travels to preach and support the imprisoned across Thedas. Cole, who had become more human, went with Varric to Kirkwall. Her armies began to return home. Etcetera, etcetera.
With her clan massacred, Ixchel has no purpose and no place in the world. She travelled with Morrigan and Kieran for a while. They spent time with the Avvar and Chasind, and they traveled all over via eluvian and on foot. Ixchel started learning ancient Elvhen from Morrigan, who had the Well of Sorrows. She and Kieran, who was only about 4 or 5 years younger than her, grew close. Mahariel returned from the West, having failed in his endeavors, and stayed with them for a time. But then Mahariel started to get sick.
Ixchel leaves, for she thinks that she's intruding on that little family's grief. She doesn't know that they considered her family, too. Ixchel returned to Skyhold alone, and she attends the Exalted Council in the midst of a deep depression made worse by the Anchor's destabilization and the tension of politics surrounding the Inquisition. Solas's revelation—and his refusal to let her join him—drives her nearly to the edge of her sanity, and she never fully recovers.
Post-Exalted Council
In the aftermath, Ixchel disbanded the Inquisition entirely.
Cassandra wanted her to stay in the grand cloister where she had come to live, but Ixchel didn’t want to take up her time and concern. Cole offered to come back to Skyhold to stay with her but she thought his work was too important. Cullen wanted to stay with her but she essentially kicked him out, because she believed in his lyrium rehabilitation clinic. And so on, and so on, until Skyhold was left with no more than thirty people in it at the time. Her anti-Solas efforts were essentially comprised of herself, Charter, Lace Harding, and Jester, and Sutherland and Sutherland’s company. Ixchel tried for a while to find a way to defeat or disprove Solas’s plans, but she had a harder and harder time motivating herself.
After the events of Callback, where Solas’s frescoes are destroyed by a demon who fed on Solas’s Regrets, Ixchel’s story starts to end.
Dead Pasts and Dread Futures
DPDF starts with Ixchel’s death, her literal rock bottom. Solas succeeds and the Veil comes down. Magic floods the world, and Dorian uses his gifts and this limitless power to reforge Ixchel’s soul out of the distant Fade, reforge her body out of his memories, and sends her back in time. Solas meddles.
Ixchel isn’t the kind of person who can turn her back on people in need, and her story is thus about how empathy sometimes leads to an overwhelming sense of responsibility, and how and when to set boundaries for her own sanity and health. She jumps into the Inquisition all over again, relying on her foreknowledge and her regrets to lead her decisions this time. As her power grows, she begins to question too how much she SHOULD meddle, and how much should be left up to the free will of people around her. Her relationships with every single companion (except Sera) are explored, and the dissonance between what she knows and loves about them & what they know and understand about themselves is highlighted.
And she finds herself empathizing and loving and wishing better for Solas every step of the way. They have a romance that’s overshadowed by feelings of guilt and grief that are at once related to the person in front of them, and also not at all. They are broken in a lot of the same ways. They are mirrors for each other. And in loving the other they learn to love and forgive themselves.
The thesis of Ixchel’s story is this: “Hope is a choice you make every day. Belief is a state of being.” The question is when, if ever, hope can become belief.
Ixchel does convince Solas to choose hope… and to help her continue to choose hope, too. They can pick each other up when they stumble or waver on this path. They don’t support each other, or follow each other–they walk with each other in parallel as equals.
Dead Pasts and Dread Futures only "ends" because I felt it had reached somewhat of a good stopping point, and it was quite long. However, Ixchel still grapples with the power she's accumulated and the consequences of her policies as Inquisitor. Her story isn't over In The Brave Guide, she works closely with Mahariel to explore the nature of racial and class politics, and the nature of the Blight.
Tumblr media
Dead Pasts and Dread Futures Bullet Breakdown
Ixchel saved both the Mages and the Templars and recruited them into the Inquisition
Ixchel convinced Samson and Calpernia to defect from Corypheus’s ranks
Ixchel killed Corypheus’s red lyrium dragon
Ixchel recruited the Wardens after Adamant
No one (….sorta) was left in the Fade
Ixchel can hear the Calling, and lyrium, for some mysterious reason, though she is not Blighted herself
Ixchel is developing mild magical ability independent of the Anchor
Cole chose to align more with his Spirit side
Dorian, Cassandra, Solas, Cole, Morrigan, and Kieran all know the truth about Ixchel’s past and the circumstances of her resurrection
…though no one but Ixchel and Cole know that Solas is the Dread Wolf.
Ixchel reunited Briala and Celene. Gaspard is dead. Briala and Celene are having some Issues ™️
The Halamshiral Alienage was burned a second time by Gaspard’s Chevaliers and malcontents, with some string-pulling by Corypheus
The Halamshiral Alienage formed a labor union comprised of disenfranchized humans, alienage elves, and other nonhuman merchants and bargained with Celene and Briala with the neutral support of the Inquisition
In the wake of what happened in Halamshiral, Ixchel is viewed as a leader of rebellions for equality, named “The Brave Guide.”
Alienages all around Thedas have begun to demand their walls to be torn down, to integrate with their cities with equal amenities or be allowed self-governance.
Mythal is meddling in her life again, though Ixchel and Solas cannot figure out why.
Ixchel has discovered that a key ingredient to her resurrection was the Old God Soul that Mythal took from Kieran, though it is now dead or dormant within Ixchel
Ixchel and Solas are in a loving, trusting, and very communicative relationship. #battlecouple
He has abandoned the din'an'shiral to instead walk with Ixchel on a path of hope – to work with the world as it is, rather than to change it by force
Ixchel has begun to incorporate spirit channeling/partial temporary possession into her battle style, the way the Avvar do.
Anders and Justice separated with the help of the Avvar, and now Anders is a willing test subject to practice curing Tranquility.
Ixchel personally intervened in Wycome to Save Clan Lavellan and Protect Wycome’s Alienage, and thwarted the Venatori’s red lyrium plot
Anti-Elven sentiment across Thedas is threatening to boil over
She met the mysterious Marquis de Serault, who has discovered red lyrium growing in their Marquisate
She captured Red Templars and they are now willingly working with several arcanists to help cure them of red lyrium infection.
Corypheus attacked Skyhold but Ixchel thwarted him and stole the Orb of Destruction, which she now keeps below Skyhold.
Corypheus escaped.
And there we have it, 600,000+ words summed up!
The questions dealt with The Brave Guide are more about dissonance between how one is perceived and how much control one has over it, and what to do with the image you have in the world. Where DPDF was about Ixchel vs. Herself more often than not, TBG is more about Ixchel vs. The Image of Ixchel – as well as Solas vs. Himself, because hope isn’t easy.

Idk if anyone has asked you yet but Ive recently stumbled onto your characters and I love their designs!! I was wondering if I could ask what your Warden, Hawke and Inquisitor are like? Maybe their classes and who they romanced in game?
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
thank you SO MUCH for the ask! i have been sitting on these oc templates (original templates by hchomgoblin) for a while and i finally got the excuse to share them!
ramblings and proper capital letters under the cut
Etmeres Mahariel • Warden Commander • Warrior • Berserker/Reaver/Spirit Warrior • 24 years (Origins), 35 years (Inquisition), 201 cm, he/him
Etmeres comes across as stern and cool but he is not unkind. Born to two ancient elves and being raised by them until he was eight has left him feeling alienated from the world of Thedas, especially when his perception of the world is already different as someone with autism. Even if he comes off as intimidating because of his serious expression and blunt way of speaking, he is gentle and compassionate. To his companions he is a socially awkward softie but to his enemies he is a ruthless opponent.
Fun fact: Etmeres can read, write, and speak elven but he prefers to keep it a secret.
__________________
Sterling Hawke • Champion • Mage • Blood Mage • Spirit Healer • 23 years (II), 35 years (Inquisition) 177 cm, he/him
Sterling is nothing if not suave and charming. That does not mean he's necessarily nice. During his time in Ferelden, he contracted tuberculosis and he was sent to the Frostback Mountains by his parents to tend to the illness. During the months spent there, he had ample time to study and educate himself. He now uses that education to sell the image of himself as a true businessman. He likes to describe himself as a "gentleman bastard."
Fun fact: Sterling isn't a dog person and was appalled when the Hawke family dog imprinted on him.

Glendimar Lavellan • Inquisitor • Rogue • Tempest • 30 years (Inquisition), 170 cm, she/her
Glen is clever and a natural born leader but due to her mistakes in her past that lead to a lot of clan Lavellan's hunters dying, she is reluctant to accept a leadership position again. She is wise beyond her years and prone to melancholia because of her experiences in Kirkwall. Most of the time, however, she is spirited and passionate, a force to be reckoned with both in battles and intellectual debates.
Fun fact: Glen used to build and repair aravels but now woodwork is just a hobby to her.

OC Interaction
Tagged by @teamdilf! Thank you! ☺️
Your OC:
Iris Lavellan is a Dalish elven mage. She'd lived a nomadic life with her clan until she was sent to spy on the Conclave - effectively a banishment for her interests in strange, forbidden magic and her refusal to marry the keeper's son. Iris had never so much as spoken to a human before leaving her clan, and struggles when she finds herself the supposed "Herald of Andraste", keeping her distance from everyone in the growing organization, save Solas - at least until she meets Dorian Pavus, who is the first human she ever comes to trust.
She's a short-tempered woman with a sharp tongue, fond of witty banter, terribly vain (Only Solas and Dorian are allowed to see her without her bright red lipstick), a vengeful streak, and a sense of optimism beyond what any would expect of her at first glance. To those who've earned her devotion, she's loyal and her love is passionate and undying, often to a fault. She's a romantic, and has mostly left the Dalish life she'd been born into, on account of her decision to remove her vallaslin and reject the stories told of the so-called elven gods, opting to settle down in Tevinter with Dorian, her closest friend, after disbanding the inquisition.
My OC:
Tav Ancunín is a wood elf ranger currently living on the outskirts of Baldur’s Gate. She had fought with her companions to save the city from mind flayers and happened to fall in love along the way with a very dashing and very smart-mouthed vampire, Astarion. Her life fell into many unexpected twists and turns but she believes she has come out on the better side of it all.
Tav is stubborn woman. She’s used to being the leader and coming up with the plans so she’d like others to listen but she also has a softer side. She’s compassionate and caring and will fight to the death for the ones she loves. She does have good wit so if someone steps up to her, she’s prepared to not back down but a good banter is always fun. She loves nature and being outdoors with her family, even if her husband isn’t a fan of all the dirt. Also, she’s a mother so she will dote on whoever’s in her vicinity, feeding them properly and making sure they are emotionally taken care of.
Oh, I think Iris and Tav could have some real fun together after getting past the initial butting of heads. I don’t think either would give in easily and it would take some time to crack, but then there would be one thing said and they would simply laugh together.
Tav would most likely be reminded by Iris of her husband. She would see the similarities between them and that would make her want to become closer. She knows how to handle that type of person but she would never force a friendship on someone who wouldn’t want it. I bet their banter would could go on for days though.

Backstory
Daesyra Voss was born in Tantervale to two city elves, Jaecyn & Viona. Viona was a servant, while Jaecyn, a blacksmith. Little Daesyra was their entire world.
Daesyra was just 5 when she started to show her magical abilities. Her parents took her on an adventure, to wander around in a meadow and trees on the outskirts of the city. As it neared dusk, all the lightning bugs came out as they do. To Daesyra, the little specks of light were magic, a true wonder. And, evidently, sparked the magic in her to finally form—with light forming in the palm of her hands.
Both Jaecyn & Viona were terrified. Not of her—of what would happen to her. They knew the moment people found out about Daesyra, she would be taken from them to join the circle. Besides the fact they would never want to be parted from their child—they also knew how a 5 year old elven girl would be treated in the circle, by other mages, or templars.
Attempting to keep a 5 year old’s uncontrollable powers a secret proved impossible. Daesyra couldn’t help it when frightened, or excited, her magic forming in little sparks & bursts of light. And finally, caught the attention of Templars. Jaecyn & Viona were warned by a neighbor— enough time to get Daesyra out of the city, but not enough time for them all to leave smoothly. In a chaotic moment, Daesyra got lost from her parents, but was told to run, & so she did. Daesyra wandered to the grove with the lightning bugs. She waited, & waited. They never came.
As the days went on, she grew hungry, thirsty, & mostly, just wanted her parents. But they said not to turn back. And so she wandered deeper into the woods.
That’s when she stumbled upon clan Lavellan. Daesyra didn’t know who they were supposed to be--she thought they might be the bad guys her parents had told her to run from. Terrified, but brave, little Daesyra held a few fists up before trembling and making a threat; which was met with some soft chuckles.
After it was clear to the Dalish this little kid had nowhere to go—they took her in. Some were hesitant, but in time, the entire clan would come to love her as their own.
With her curious and bold nature, she was a bit of trouble maker—but her heart was always in the right place, which became clear to Keeper Deshanna, who gave her the nickname “Da’lath’in” (little heart) for always trying to help someone (even strangers, which she was scolded for), or always trying to save some lost wounded animal. Even a wolf.
She was raised as one of their own, taught as one of their own, and yet, she constantly struggled with feeling as an outsider. Going off to the conclave was yet another one of Daesyra attempts to prove she belonged in clan Lavellan---but fate had another plan in mind.

Winter Melting: Chpt. 3 Con(scripted) Men
Rating: M || WC: 3,397 (/10,114) || Chpt: 3/40(?)
(-> Read from the beginning)
Summary:
Mirenan Lavellan should have been born a mage. Instead, she's a hunter who can't hunt, the failure of her clan, and now the Inquisition's most shameful secret. In an Inquisition built around a god she does not worship with few she can call allies much less friends, all she wants is to go back to the clan she chose to leave. Given little choice, she agrees to play the role of faceless Herald to save Thedas from the rifts, but how long will it be until she messes this up too? And will she make it back in time for the next Wintersmelt, to answer the question she wears around her wrist?
Chapter Excerpt:
Mirenan accidentally recruits a new companion while trying to enjoy some alone time.
Even crossing the little campground was suspicious enough to attract the attention of the dwarf as he sat on a crate, tuning his crossbow. “Where are you off to?” He raised an eyebrow. “Just wanted to sit by the water.” Mirenan pointed to the little pond formed at the base of a small waterfall. “You can’t commune with the forest from over here? Look, there’s a flower.” He gestured with the end of a pointed tool at one of the few buttercups that had yet to be squashed under a scout’s boot, then returned to adjusting a lever. “You know how we Dalish get.” Mirenan stared him down. “Would that be a problem for you?” “Something tells me the Seeker wouldn’t like it.” The dwarf held up the crossbow, aiming at the distant scenery, but he cracked a grin before setting it down. “But me? No skin off my back.”

(art by the amazing @chasindbae)
"Power is a game, and I play it better than most. Never underestimate the importance of presentation and the art of influence."
Because the lovely @merrybandofmurderers asked, here are some deets about my Inquisitor Mirisa Surana (forever now known as the Herald of Solas's demise)
Mirisa Surana is an AU Inquisitor from my politically minded OC worldstate. I made her to.... uhhhh.... heal the wounds from my Sollavellan hellscape romance of Solas with Eretria.
Mirisa romanced the egg, however unlike my Lavellan, she was not crushed by his leaving, his revelation about the Evanuris, or his plan. She is an Andrastian, raised in the Val Royeaux Circle (the Spire) and she was a Senior Enchanter at the time the war broke out and has a similar mindset to Vivienne. She was a loyalist mage, and disagreed with Fiona's decision. Vivienne was her closest companion, and best friend. She ensured Vivienne took the Sunburst Throne. She made the Inquisition a force to be reckoned with, balancing diplomacy, force and assassinations with the same skill she uses magic. She's a knight enchanter and decisively led her people into battle, never shying from being in the front line. Post Trespasser she is determined to stop Solas, not to save him or to get revenge, but because it's the right thing to do. Chaos harms everyone. In fact, she honestly forgot he existed the moment he abandoned the Inquisition. She has always known her worth, and she wasn't going to waste her time crying over him.
I even made a playlist to hype myself up before starting Trespasser with her to remind myself she's not messed up like I am over the egg lmao

Hi! For the ask thing, what’s your fave AU idea for each of your ocs?
Oooooh thank you for the question!!! Gosh, I’m so boring when it comes to AUs, lol. I just get so attached to their original settings.
For Adara, my favorite is an AU where she’s… just a regular Grey Warden instead of the Hero of Ferelden. She would have survived the Circle uprising and fought at the Battle of Denerim before volunteering to join. The important thing about this AU is that she’s a focused healer, and I get to write scenarios like “Carver was trying too hard to impress the other Wardens and did something reckless and got hurt. Again. And it’s getting kind of embarrassing for him to keep showing up at the healer’s.” It’s really just a way for me write lower stakes cutesy Warden shit.
For both Adara and for Vivial/the Hawke family, I am intrigued by a Locked Tomb AU. The necromancer/cavalier relationship in all its possible forms is catnip for me.
I haven’t thought about AUs for Dacre very much since his canon is so wobbly in the first place while I’m feeling things out… is he the actual Inquisitor or is he a companion to Inquisitor Lavellan? I’m still waffling depending on the day.
Thank you for the question!!! 🥰🥹

Dragon Age ask on my dash? I apologize in advance.
1, 2, 4-8, 12, 17, 21, 29, 30, 38, 39, 49, 60 (I realize this is a lot, so you can pick and choose if you don't want to answer all of them lol)
I love you. So much. (Lol this got so long I was so excited.)
1-How did you get into Dragon Age?
It's been so long it's sort of hard to remember! But I'm certain Inquisition wasn't out or even announced by then. I think my sister actually got Origins initially and I gave it a try...got interested enough that I wanted to get DA2 before I'd even finished Origins, lol. Wound up playing 2 first and the rest is history!
2-Have you finished all three games?
Several times over by this point! I like making lots of different OCs and trying all the romances!
4-What was your first Warden (gender/class/race/personality)?
I think my first official start was male mage Hashaad Amell. I wasn't sure what I was doing so the only real personality I had in mind was 'cocky.' I never actually finished his game tho. My first finished game was female rogue Duiva Mahariel. She wound up being very quiet and dutiful with a tendency to go after revenge.
5-What was your first Hawke like (gender/class/temperament)?
First Hawke was a male mage I named Warren; leaned incredibly heavily into diplomatic options. He is still my favorite Hawke I've made to date, though I've made many more since.
6-First Inquisitor (gender/class/race/personality)?
Two-handed warrior Amara Lavellan; she was a proud-ass bitch with a sharp tongue. I really love the two-handed warrior mechanics in Inquisition so she was FUN to play.
7-Favorite DA:O backstory?
Dwarven noble, hands down. That one was the background that changed my playthrough the most. Confession? I nearly always pick Behlen to rule Orzammar despite the fact that he is a foul conniving bastard (I just happen to like that, out of the two, he's the one who allows the casteless out of the slums whereas Harrowmont is content to let them rot for sake of tradition; imo neither is a perfect choice, Harrowmont just happens to be more palatable). But Chimera Aeducan was directly betrayed by her scheming asshole brother, and I couldn't see her wanting to support him for ANY reason after that. She is still my favorite Warden I have ever made.
8-Preferred class overall?
It varies from game to game. I feel like Rogue is hands down the best in Origins for someone who likes to stay in control of their Warden at all times, which I do. It's too hard to deal with traps and locks otherwise.
Most fun to play in DA2 is a mage mostly for story reasons; I really love the mechanics of DA2's combat, so all are fun to play. I just feel like mage Hawke is more personally imbedded in the politics of Kirkwall. Plus it feels soooo nice to look Meredith right in the eye and know the bitch can't touch me because of my Champion status. >:)
I already mentioned how much I love two-handed warrior mechanics in Inquisition; you really feel the WEIGHT behind your swings and it feels SO good to bludgeon enemies to death with a giant-ass maul. Add on the Reaver specialty and-*chef's kiss* Beautiful.
12-Do you prefer DA:O, DA2, or DA:I the most?
I have probably restarted Inquisition the most out of all of them, but the game sort of feels like it stops after Haven after playing through once. DA2 has...numerous flaws, but its companions and their arcs are my favorite, so I will always love it the most. Even if I can recite Cassandra's interrogation by heart and couldn't even tell you what the first few lines of DA2 are. XD
17-What did you name your Mabari?
I always change up the name to suit whoever owns said Mabari, but in Duiva's run, I remember having seen "Barkspawn" in a fanfic somewhere and just went, "Oh, yes, perfect!"
21-Did Hawke side with the mages or templars?
Mages. I literally saw no justification for siding with Meredith. Even despite things some of the mages in the circle did, that woman was unhinged and would have looked for any excuse to take them all out. Who calls for the Rite of Annulment based on an apostate blowing up the Chantry? AN APOSTATE, MEREDITH.
29-What are your feelings on the Chantry?
I think like anyone with issues involving real-world organized religion, I tend to project some of that onto what is more or less Thedas' equivalent of Christianity...with some differences, of course. I think ideally, the Chantry would be run by people like Cassandra or Leliana. People who believe in less grandstanding and more helping people, guiding them. Guidance which, I think, has to be less inherently manipulative than real-world Christianity, for the sheer fact that they have otherworldly things like Darspawn and magic and spirits to point to the possible existence of the Maker.
The main thing I don't like about the Chantry is their overwhelming presence overshadowing pretty much everything. I do not like being told, as a Dalish elf or some other race, that the Maker would hear my prayers or look out for me even though I am not human. I do not like Cassandra's disapproval after telling her I, as an elf, believe in my own gods and I do not like being asked "is there no room for one more?" That is rude and unfair and assumes everyone in the world takes comfort in having a god you were not raised with and do not personally connect with hovering around you like a shadow. I want Andrastians to stay in their fucking lane.
I...may have strong feelings about this.
30-What are your feelings on the Circle?
Tbh totally mixed. I think Tevinter had a few too many things go to their heads, and I don't like the idea of mages being trapped in Circles, taken away from their homes forcibly and not being allowed to see their families without some considerable influence.
But like. People can shoot fire out of their hands and, sorry Solas, no one lives in a world intrinsically bound to the Fade anymore. That shit's more dangerous now and some people just cannot control their own power.
I think the problem both Tevinter and Southern Circles both have in common is the attachment of morality to magic and mages. If people want to look to Andraste's words of "magic is to serve man and not rule over him," then I think they need to remember that the quote mentiones MAGIC and not MAGES. Meaning, mages should not be ruled by magic any more than non-mages should be. Mages should be able to feel safe and in control of themselves without being chastised and fearmongered for what they were born with. "Yes, dearheart, magic can be scary...but only if you don't become in tune with it or use it unwisely." (Not a real quote, I made that up, lol.)
Circles should exist, but not as they are. Templars, imo, should learn magic side by side with mages and both need to be separated from the Chantry as an institution, because giving a religious organization a military force is never, EVER a good idea in my book.
38-Funniest moment in the game?
I have simple needs: "Chanter says what?"
39-Creepiest moment in the games?
Creepiest? The poem leading up to the Broodmother in the Deep Roads in Origjns. Gives me the shivers every time. If the question had been "most horrifying," I would have said Leandra's death in DA2.
49-Something you do in EVERY DA playthrough, no matter what?
I will always recruit every single companion available to me, even if I don't care for them. Hell, I'll even try to understand and be friends with them even then.
60-Who do you wish had been given more story?
I mean, throw a dart at anyone in Inquisition (except probably Solas; we got so much and are getting more so I can't complain too much). I feel so much more disconnected with the da:i companions than any of the others and it bothers me so much. I think Vivienne might top my list, tho. Even after her companion quest I feel like I know nothing about her.
(God this got soooo long, but it was so fun! Thank you so so much!!

Questions for Thora: 4- attitude towards Andrastianism? 18- do they have any irrational fears?
Questions for your Hawke: 6- attitude towards the Qun? 16- do they get sentimental about their weapons or armour?
Questions for your Warden: 13- their thoughts on the Grey Warden order? 23- do they have, or want to have, children? 23-a: if they want to have children, what do you do with the obscure lore that wardens have impaired fertility? (obviously "I ignore it as the Maker intended" is a valid response according to me)
DA Worldstate Questions!
Thora Cadash
4. attitude towards Andrastianism?
Thora is Andrastian- or rather, she believes in both the Stone and the Maker. This is based on some lore that I believe is from Orzammar discussing how the two don't contradict each other (so really Cass should be asking Cadash if there's not room for the Maker in their lives rather than Lavellan).
Her attitude towards Andrastianism is different from her attitude towards the Chantry. She believes in and finds strength in Andraste and her story, perhaps in many ways more than in the Maker. The Chant gives her strength and she loves to sing it. When it comes to the Chantry, she has always felt excluded from it. She might have joined it had she been allowed (and in her companion verses if Leliana is Divine she may serve her), but over time she comes to be more critical of it. Kirkwall taught her to question the Circle, and Inquisition drives those questions to the root of the problem. She does want to believe it can change and supports Leliana in pursuit of that change.
18. do they have any irrational fears?
Not really. She's afraid of deep water and dogs. In the Nightmare she doesn't see spiders, but her companions as they appeared in the Red Lyrium future. All of those fears have some pretty solid basis. Her biggest thing that impacts her day-to-day is that blood/corpses make her ill despite death being part of her job, but again I can't really call that irrational, just unusual for adventuring fantasy protagonists.
Sylvia Hawke
6. attitude towards the Qun?
Definitely not for her. She is more or less the Arishok's foil, undisciplined and chaotic to his control and order.
Her attitude to it at large is less negative than you might expect, in part due to the grudging respect she comes to hold for the Arishok. She also can't say she's a fan of the natural conclusion of its enforcement, which is to say: the conquering of the south. While she had sympathy for the situation of the qunari, after she discovers why they really stuck around so long she found them a little pitiable. She'd fled her home because of the Blight, they were in exile over a book.
16. do they get sentimental about their weapons or armour?
Not at all. She likes to add little touches that she carries from one piece to the next, but isn't attached to any kind. Ironically, in her playthrough I do end up having the same robes through most of act 2 and 3 (robes of the notorious pirate) because there are only a handful of pants for mages in DA2 and Sylvia just isn't a dressy robe person. So she isn't sentimental, but she is picky.
Tamar Aeducan
(Tamar isn't my OC, but my spouse's, but she is my worldstate Warden and the one I'm carrying to DA4).
13. their thoughts on the Grey Warden order?
Tamar is realistic about it. She takes her duties seriously, but finds a lot about the Order to criticise. She had a poor relationship with Clarel when they were both still alive, and is more likely to grant Solas his due in his criticisms than Ian, who holds the Order up on a pedestal. Tamar also is willing to play a little loose with the rules- for example, during Ian's recruitment in DA:O she "recruits" him with no intention of having him Join, letting him go back to his clan after the Archdemon's defeat.
23. do they have, or want to have, children?
She doesn't have any. Tamar has issues conceiving even in verses where she isn't a Warden, like our Modern Thedas verse. She does want them, as does Gorim, but there isn't room for one in her life as Warden-Commander. In Modern Thedas they do adopt, though!
