In the time she had spent with Artair, she observed a few particulars. One was his bag, the way he could conjure nearly anything. The second were the pins she saw occasionally, some were swapped and replaced with different ones, some remained. In the context of Christmas, that was the most important observation of all. A pin by itself did not make for a good present, but a couple would suffice.
As she shopped, Naoto wondered why she was going so far to give a client a present. Detectives were to remain impartial. They understood clients were simply clients, only to cross paths because of business alone. Artair and Inaba were synonymous, she realized as she walked home, purchases in hand, and Naoto wasn’t sure if she liked that correlation.
Until Christmas, they sat on the corner of her desk, taunting her. Pointless, wouldn’t care, why are you doing this.
Excluding the plastic bags they had come in, they weren’t wrapped. She carried them in her bag until she met Artair and pulled him away to a quieter place. She fished them out, all three resting upon her gloved hand.
“I think you know what this one is,” she started, handing him the first, an okonomiyaki pin. The design was simple, but Naoto thought it was more interesting than the typical ramen and onigiri she assumed most people knew.
The second she handed over was a pudgy snake. “I suppose you can call this a cryptid. This is a tsuchinoko. As you can see, it resembles a snake, only pudgier. Some legends state they can speak and love to lie. Some say they enjoy alcohol. Some say the tsuchinoko can swallow its own tail and roll around like a wheel.”
The final pin was a red daruma. “You’ve seen these around, I’m sure. It symbolizes perseverance. You’ll often see them with one eye drawn in. This represents setting a goal. As you expect, when the second eye is drawn in, it means you’ve achieved your goal.” The daruma pin had both of its eyes blank. “I don’t expect you to treat this pin like a real one, but if you wish, then I can’t stop you.”
She didn’t say Merry Christmas because it had been apparent after giving him those pins.
And for as long as she could, she wanted to pretend that the line drawn between client and detective was still clear in the sand.

The moment he sees those gifts, he knows what they mean. She delivers them with as much professionalism as any young detective who totally doesn't care about you can, and it is very commendable. Even so, His respect only keeps his smile from reaching too far, and does not erase it from his face. "Aw.... thank you, Detective." He bows to her, as a sign of respect. before accepting them. He'd give her a hug, but that might be too much, when she's already trying so hard here. "I love them! The okonomiyaki is just like that first time we went to a restaurant together. And I love the tsuchinoko, they're so round. I might just use the daruma too." He takes the time now, in front of her, to pin all three to the outside of his bag.
He opens it then. "I.... hope you don't mind that I got something for you, as well. It's nothing much." Out comes a retangular, larger wrapped gift. Under the wrapping is a decorative box-- a Koyosegi puzzle box. "I.... thought with the cases, you might like puzzles too. but this one is also practical because you can stick something inside it. Once you figure out opening it, of course." He smiles a little more. "And speaking of... your second gift is inside. Figured a detective like yourself might enjoy a bit of mystery." If shaken, there's a gentle rattle of several somethings from inside.

Simple Steps To An Effective ATC Communications Strategy
Air Traffic Controllers (ATC's) and other high-hazard vocation experts experience the impacts of worry in their activity execution and in their own lives. Tactile habituation, however conceivably as lethal as stress, is a hazardous condition that may go unrecognized. Viable neuroscience clarifies tangible habituation and gives prompt approaches to keep it from happening.
Tactile Habituation
Tactile habituation happens when centering upon particular tangible information or doing a tangible movement tediously for an ATC Communications. After some time, this drawn-out center will, in general, but the mind in a "sluggish" and defocused state. Instances of tangible habituation and how to stay away from it pursue:
Visual Habituation: Staring at a PC screen, instrumentation or a solitary visual picture for quite a while can place you into a daze like a state. While you appear to be taking a gander at something, you may see and grasp nothing. This is possibly hazardous in the event that you are gazing at a PC screen in a control tower or driving a vehicle on a dull and desolate street.
You can break the habituation cycle by moving your eyes from side to side, here and there, without breaking contact with your field-of-vision.
Visual habituation can likewise make "lethargic eye", which makes it hard to follow the development and even read. You can reestablish and reinforce eye development by holding your thumb up before you and drawing a figure 8. Track your clockwise and counter-clockwise thumb development with your eyes until you feel reestablished. This technique to break visual habituation should just be worked on during breaks and safe occasions. It's likewise useful for understudies dependent on TV and messaging.
Sound-related Habituation: Listening to dull sounds, tower/cockpit prattle, and exhausting discussions can put your mind to rest, prompt you to defocus and, in the long run, "registration" of sound-related circumstances. This condition happens much of the time at home, work and in the homeroom in light of the fact that solitary 10% of the all-inclusive community has sound-related (tuning in to words) as their essential method to getting data. Sound-related habituation will likewise constrain your capacity to recognize what is imparted through the manner of speaking, which adds significance to the words said.
Reword quietly or so anyone might hear what you get notification from direct sound-related information sources or from "tower/cockpit prattle." Moving your eyes going to take a gander at various things, in any event, for a second or two, helps break the sound-related habituation cycle. Moving your body about in various positions helps also.
Sensation Habituation: Repetitive and basic hands-on exercises can prompt sensation habituation and an error. This is presumably the most outlandish type of habituation for ATC Communications. It is progressively normal for assembling and get together professions, the office maintains and sources of income like preparing nourishment (for example stripping, cutting and dicing.) Loss of center can cause physical ponderousness, ungainliness and a sensation mishap, making damage yourself and harm to physical property.
Rehashing the sensation steps to yourself, quietly or so anyone might hear, will assist you with working securely. Move your body about in various positions, perform multiple tasks if conceivable and take visit breaks.
All in all, tangible habituation is a neuroscience marvel. It can transpire, whenever, when concentrating on one tactile pathway for an extensive stretch. ATC Communications are kept away from when we know about this condition and find a way to avert or break the habituation cycle.
