In the mid 80s, all the Def Leppard guys frequently went to gay discos in Holland and were even inspired by the music that would have playing there! They were welcomed by the LGBT community and appreciated them!

Not only that, but both Steve and Phil (and the rest of DL) were/are fans of artists who were genderfluid and/or queer and/or challenged gender norms (David Bowie, Lou Reed, Marc Bolan, Freddie Mercury, etc.)

So whatever that person told you is BULL. SHIT. Phil and Steve would TOTALLY accept you and want to raise hell with you- simply because you ARE who you truly are, and anyone can see that there's no problem with that ❤️ Furthermore, that person should NOT have crossed that line, and they only did so to purposely hurt you. They only said that to disguise themselves saying "I don't like you", and used other people as a disguise to hide behind in order to inflict more emotional damage.

But yes, we are def here for you, bud. Even if those ppl aren't 💖🤍💜🖤💙

Tw: talks about issues with coming out

I came out to my family today about being gender fluid and feel more masculine than feminine most of the time. Even though I want to look like a glam rock pretty boy when I'm more masculine It went pretty well until someone went, "The men who you idolize wouldn't expect you," and then someone went "phil and steve would hate you"

Everyone else was really supportive, but these two individuals really got to me, and now I'm trying not to cry at my sisters choir concert.

I knew they wouldn't be supportive, but I didn't think they would bring my idols into it.
