If I had a pound for every Beowulf musical adaptation which had themes of Beowulf living forever through the stories told and also forcing Beowulf to confront the similarities between him and Grendel I'd have two quid which isn't a lot but it's odd it's happened twice

#first one was beowulf a thousand years of baggage I think by the ghost quartet guy #second was the ninth hour which I had a 'guy who has only read beowulf hmm giving me beowulf vibes' moment #then I looked it up and they describe it as 'rock noir beowulf reimagining' and felt very vindicated #both good music would recommend #ninth hour doesn't have beowulf's dragon in (at least not the album idk I haven't watched it) which seems A Choice but also bear in mind I'#not a Beowulf Professional or owt I just know the story #ninth hour casts the same person and beowulf and grendel's mother which has Inplications #same with how a thousand years of baggage casts the same person as both a modern academic and the dragon #Implications All Over
