Uluru Rock, Australia: Uluru also known as Ayers Rock and officially gazetted as Uluru / Ayers Rock is a large sandstone monolith. It outcrops near the centre of Australia in the southern part of the Northern Territory, 335 km south-west of Alice Springs. Uluru is sacred to the Pitjantjatjara, the Aboriginal people of the area, known as the Aṉangu. MountSonder, Australia: Mount Sonder, or Rwetyepme, its Aboriginal name, is the fourth highest mountain in the Northern Territory, Australia at 1,380 metres AHD. Mount Zeil is the highest at 1,531 metres, 27 kilometres to the west. Mt Sonder is 130 km west of Alice Springs along the MacDonnell Ranges in the West MacDonnell National Park.
