I hate this post. I was tired of seeing it, so I fixed it. Freya is more than a great beauty. She is a powerful Völva and rules over her own hall, able to choose half of all warriors who die in battle to join her. Just because she’s a woman, and a goddess of love, doesn’t mean her most admirable quality is her beauty. I am a Norse follower, and my husband and I chose this path because we see each other as equals and value each other for our work and our accomplishments. Today I saw this symbol used at the end of a horror movie. They see our words as evil and demonic, when in reality, what they are doing is misinterpreting an ancient language. Inguz is the symbol of fertility, love & music. It is NOT a simbol of hate, pain or torture. For norse followers, the sound of thunder is forever associated with Thor striking his hammer, presumably when slaying giants and monsters while riding his chariot drawn by two giant goats – Tanngniost and Tanngrisnir.
