It has now been two and a half months since the great Norma acquisition, and as someone who loves cats but was tentative to get one (I like to have more control over my environment – home especially – than perhaps is healthy), I would like to bestow upon her a few kitty cat accolades.
Her personality type is Sweet Lady. Despite being a youngcat (just 2 years old), she is very mature. I was afraid of the Push Things Over type, the All Over the Counters type, the Begging for Your Human Meals type, but was ready to handle that as those are very regular cat traits. Norma doesn't do these things. Even if she did, it would be so hard to be mad at her if I'm being honest because she really does have her own unique (and Irresistably Lovable) personality.
Normie has a soft voice, but of course, is prone to her occasional fits of meowing. These aren't bothersome – you find yourself thinking, what makes you sing little babycat? And nine times out of ten it just means it's time to give her a thorough petting.
She is on the small side, but not for long; she is a lover of all textures and flavors, though anything and everything requires the world's cutest cursory sniff if placed in front of her. It is one of my great joys feeding her those meat gogurts for cats if just for her little scrunched licky face, but also because I know she is living her best life in that moment.
She is also very playful and very silly. Sure, she may get a little scratchy on the furniture (she has other things to scratch 😅 but honestly who gives a fuck, a lot of our furniture was already scratched by someone else's cat), and Sure, she may like eating our plants (easy remedy – plants are moved), but these small drawbacks mean nothing in light of her joyous jumpies, her stuffed mouse huntings, and her tennis ball rabbit-kickings.
When she doesn't have 100 mph zoomies, she's quite the toasty cuddler. Her biscuits are quick and efficient, her purrs thunderous, continuous – and then she lays down on you and produces more heat than any nine-pound creature should reasonably be capable of.
The baby is also very pliable (long, floppy) and patient. Likes to be held if just for a short while, and even if her grooming is very thorough afterwards.
I picked her in the first place mostly because she seemed so forlorn at the shelter and I couldn't stand for it, but also because she has a face of great duality – somehow pretty and refined, yet so very stupid at the right moment and angle. I'm sure she wonders why we just sit and laugh at her at times, but she knows she's loved.
Normal my #1 forever and Always.

the new norma.. .
the bf and I have our locations shared on google Only because my job is road trips and he likes to see my progress through the many states I visit but yesterday I worked ten hours (various destinations) and around nine pm when it said I was back at the house but I wasn't yet Inside the house he got confused. looked out the big window and I was busy petting a stray cat in the dark. I knooow ur not supposed to do that but I don't do drugs so it's one of the few ways I allow the universe to smile at me
and after a few pets himself, as well as seeing my own Cat Enthusiasm, the bf is now like. dead set on getting us a cat. said we are going to the shelter this week and he'll take care of all the costs. I just. 🥹
